On either side of the shop, book shelves tower up to the ceiling and hold books of every kind. Fiction and non-fiction, autobiographies, biographies, even muggle manuals. Perhaps your interests lie in Astronomy, maybe magizoology, perhaps even the history of Mr. Zonko.

Most of your literature needs will be somewhere on these shelves, apart from the particularly delicate books or books concerning dark arts and other specialist subjects. These can be inquired about at the Third Hand Books Counter. If a book appears to be missing or out of stock, consult the shopkeeper.

Please do NOT climb the shelves and remember that some customers like silence when browsing, so keep the noise to a minimum. Likewise, please do NOT damage or deface any books.

Remember these books are old, used and third hand. It is unlikely that you will find a pristine copy. They are cheap after all.

Happy browsing, and don’t forget the pay at the counter.

Daniel would be that kid if he still went to school.

"But anyway... the streets aren't too crowded... but if you're in the sweet shop, expect people. But don't worry about squashing kids... we'r- I mean they are like sponges in more ways than just retaining information."

The young man was listening to Anita, but examining his Chocolate Frog, and did a double take when she mentioned... giving someone a shoe... "Riiiiight," he grinned. Oh man, that was awesome. He'd remember that. "You got the shoe back, right?" he asked, just to make sure.

ANita placed her hand to her heart when he sad faced at her about the less fortunate kids. She totally understood. Totally. "Well at least you get to help some people," she said with a matter of fact nod.

Hehehe. Sponges. Now she pictured little square children with holes in them. Focus! "I wouldn't want any angry parents though," she said with a grimace. They might not be too impressed with their ever resillient children being fallen on.

Letting out a peal of laughter she nodded her head. "Oh yes, I got my shoe back. He was nice enough to take it with one hand and shake with the other. Fixed me dinner too. Took pity on me I suppose," she laughed again.

It was a whole ordeal," she said through snorts and giggles. She then caught a glimpse of the time when she lowered her hand. "OH! Oh gosh! I am going to be late for my first day of work! He was about to flail his way to his feet when Anita sprang up, but she'd already kissed his head and said her goodbyes. When she started to leave, he used the shelf beside him to lift himself up. "Okay... well, good luck. Have a great time, and thanks for..." he faltered, about to list things starting with the frog. "Everything."

She was nice. Daniel now had a friend who worked on this street. And she was nice.

Rene walked into the bookstore and the smell of books filled her nose. It was amazing that after years of books stacked high they all smell so facsinating.
Reaching a shelf she ran her fingers along the spines of the books. She wasnt really looking for anything just hoped something would find her.

Taking a book of the shelf and reading a few pages before returing it and continuing her browsing. She looked around to see if there were anyone else in the store besides her.

a smile came to Coraline's face as she heard him say she was a first year, she was so happy that someone knew how old she was without knowing, everyone thought she was older by her smartness and she was just taller then Hugo, "i'm Coraline Riddle, hopefully Ravenclaw, first year" she laughed, "pretty much, and making some friends on the way" she says.

Draven strolls into the store. "Its time to get some books". He has already had an eventful day out in the alleyway so he got somewhat sidetracked. He just couldnt get his mind off of Taylor, he has never met anyone quite like her.

Browsing the shelves he sees some books he has seen before through his parents but others there that he had not seen before and some of the books peaked his interest.

Lizzie strolled slowly around the store, picking out a book here and there and reading the covers, looking for something interesting to read. In the end, she stopped near the school book bundles and just grabbed a fourth-year one, having not seen anything else that interested her. She perched on the edge of a table and began to flick through Hogwarts; A History. The school seemed so interesting, and she was so excited to finally be going.

Forging is big in my family's heritage and since my father is a forger i want to learn all i can while im not at home about it. He's taught me a little but i think it would be a great idea to come back from Hogwarts with some more knowledge of my own".

Taylor was looking at him sweetly listening contently. He stared at her for a moment before looking back at the shelves.

"Soooo, what are your main studies at Hogwarts"?

Justin walked into the store looking for the books he needed. Mostly DADA books. He was glad to be going back to Hogwarts again. He accidentally nudged some girl as he walked past a table. "Sorry" he said looking at hr apologetically. He half-smiled and continued walking to the shelf which was practically next to the girl.

"Oh, awesome." she listened to him talk about his family's heritage- had he come from a dark magic past? Her family had... but she didn't like to talk about that- it was all too bad. Something she wasn't amazingly proud of- it did make her feel somewhat... powerful though.

"Oh well, I just do all the usual. But i love Defence against the Dark Arts- that has to be my fave. And Ancient Runes- for some strange reason!" she admitted with another big smile, playing with her bracelet and then looking at him, she looked around them. It was so quiet in here, barely anyone around compared to out there in the bustling street!

Lizzie looked up as she felt a light nudge on her shoulder, and smiled at the boy who was apologizing. 'No problem,' she said with a kind smile. She put the book back onto the pile and got up, ready to go and pay. As she stood up, she tripped over the table leg, and landed sprawling by the boy's feet. Sitting up and dusting herself off, she blushed a furious shade of beetroot red. How embarrassing was that? Seriously, that was really what she needed when she wanted to come off normal at this school. Honestly.
