"I'm glad someone understands." Melrose told Sebastian. She smiled, looking up at him. No flirting Melrose. Not one bit even if it is in your freakin' blood. Not one bit. Your boyfriend just broke up with you and not even in person. "So what house are you in?" Mel ask in.

Reese always thought she would have money at the age of 21. Yet, things happen, you lose your job because of your tempter, and you end of working as a waitress, who doesn't get paid that much. It was horrible but at least she always had parents she could run to when she needed money but she wasn't going to do that today, noooo. She was just going to go into Third Book Emporium today and buy herself a cheap dictionary because she had lost hers a couple years back when she moved houses and she didn't have enough money to buy a new copy at Flourish and Blotts, and she kinda needed one now.

Looking up at the sign to the store, she made sure she was at the right place before opening to door and went inside. She didn't even take the time to look at her surrounding before heading straight towards the first shelf of books to begin looking for a dictionary. Honestly, she wanted to get her book and leave because she was was kind of hungry for some ice cream at Florean's at the moment.

Going about his business of putting new books into their places in the shelves, Daniel felt his head throb with every step he took.

He had, once again, been out to a muggle club last night, and was now regretting it.

Ah, a customer.

"Can I help you?" he asked the lady, keeping his voice down because Dexter and Cole were still sleeping in the back room.

Reese sighed. Why did it seem like this place wasn't organized? It might have just been her but she couldn't seem to find what she was looking for but she had found a biography on Bertie Bott. Not exactly what she needed, yet, it was interesting.

Maybe she would be able to find a book on the person who created chocolate frogs! Oh that was be super awesome! The problem with that was the she didn't know who had created them. Booo.

She flipped through the pages of the book until she heard a voice that seemed to be talking to her. Slowly looking up at the man, she smiled and replied, "Yes, you may actually be able to help. Where can I find the dictionaries?"

"Well... you're in the non-fiction section, which is about right," Daniel nodded, and pointed down to the end of the row of shelves. "Each row is labelled. Just a few rows down is the section for reference books."

Which dictionaries totally were.

"I'll show you the way," he smiled, and beckoned for her to follow him. He still had the pile of books in his arms and his head hurt like woah, but he had a potion somewhere upstairs for that.

Honestly speaking, Reese wasn't listening to a word he was telling her. She was, instead, just staring at him because something was... how do you say it? Familiar to her? It was like she has seen him somewhere before! She just couldn't exactly put her finger on where and when.

If she couldn't remember who this guy was right now, it was going to bug her to know end!

She wrinkled her eyebrows, trying so hard to figure it out. It was only until she locked eyes with him that it truly hit her. Those was Jake's eyes. She knew her brother's eyes from anywhere because she always thought he had some really nice blue eyes -- which she really wanted! Blue was so much better than brown in her opinion. The thing was about this guy having eyes that look like Jake's eyes was that this wasn't Jake! It was some total stranger that looked like... gosh, maybe she was just missing her brother so much that she was starting to think this shopkeeper looked like him! Yup, that's what was happening.

"Okay," she replied, then she began to follow him. "Do you need some help carrying those books?" It sure did look like he needed some help because he was only one person carrying a large pile of books, and that wasn't good!

"Hmm?" Daniel responded, turning to the young woman and then glancing at his books again. "Oh... no... no, I'm okay," he smiled, and set the books carefully onto an empty shelf nearby.

He'd sort them later.

Yup.

Self-consciously touching the scar on his cheek that seemed to be a line from almost the corner of his mouth towards his ear, Daniel continued to the reference books.

"Were you looking for any particular dictionary? Latin, spell, ingredients, wizard objects... words?"

He gave the young lady another friendly smile.

Reese instantly stopped walking, then looked up at the man. "Okay. I just thought I would just offer some help," she replied with a smile. "A stack of books that tall must be heavy." When he placed the book on a nearby shelf, she quickly skimmed through the titles of them while she stayed where she was.

Most of them looked like autobiographies, which made her wonder. "How many autobiographies does to shop have?" A lot by the looks of it. Who really wanted to write an autobiography? It seemed to her that a lot of people would think of a person who wrote a book about themselves would have quite the ego, yet, people loved autobiographies. She never really understood that.

She then continued to follow him to the dictionaries, not even noticing that the boy was touching this scar that was on his face. If she had noticed, she would have been questioning the boy right now on how he got that scar that was on his face.

"I was looking for..." WOW, look how many reference books there were. Blinking a few times, she gazed over the books before finishing her sentence, "Words. I need a dictionary with lots and lots of words in it."

Jake needed some new books to read. Not that he even tried to read the ones she'd bought him, she always ended up reading them too him until he fell asleep, And sometimes the stories got interesting so she carried on. So it was kinda more Harmony needed new kiddie books but Jake was her excuse for buying some really childish ones. The brunette walked into the third hand book emporium, she didn't wanna buy loads of brand new expensive books that Jake wouldn't want, so third hand would do. She wondered around looking for the section were the kiddie books were kept, trying her best to see up to the top shelf, yeah being short kinda failed in these situations. She stopped coming across some brightly coloured books which looked like they'd be suitable for little kids.

Feeling rather drained from having his sister in the week before, and his brother in this week, Emery walked into the book emporium rather tiredly. His eyes were heavy, and he had dark circles under his eyes. Apparently Evan needed some book to study things from so he could impress this girl he'd met here and was to lazy to get it for himself. Between work, and taking care of his younger siblings that liked to visit, Emery was drained. The man dragged his feet, as he shuffled his way through the store and eventually stumbled across a very familiar figure. With a tired grin upon him, he went over towards her and tapped her shoulder lightly.

Books about farm animals, books about builders, books about nurses and doctors. Harmony bit her lip, scanning the shelves, there were like LOTS of kiddie books. She picked up one about farm animals, flicking through the pages before putting it back. There was so many to choose from, she was gonna be here forever and ever and ever, and then she'd get locked in there overnight which would be BAD. She twisted her hair around her index finger before letting the strand go and picking up a book about builders. She was just about to put the book back as someone tapped her on the shoulder. The 26 year old let out a quiet scream as she jumped around to see Em behind her. Giving him a quick hug she smiled. "Hey there. Thanks for scaring me." She twisted round and put the book back on the shelf. "Sooo, what brings you here ?"

Emery grinned a bit broader, happy to see his girlfriend here. It had been quite a while since he'd seen her beautiful face and he missed her so much over the past couple of weeks. Watching her jump definitely put a smile on his face and he couldn't help but laugh. And he wouldn't be surprised if she smacked him for laughing. It.. wasn't exactly something he usually did. "Anytime," he replied through laughter. "I'm here for your enjoyment and my own," he chuckled some more before finally letting it die down.

He glanced around the shop, momentarily forgetting what he was here for and quickly returned his blue eyes back on Harmony. "What brings me here? Well, Evan sent me here to get him some book. But i'm afraid i can't quite remember what it was..." he trailed off in thought, "What brings you here, love?"

Harmony let a smile appear on her face as she looked up to Em, forgetting where they were for a second. "Where've you been hiding ? I haven't seen you in ageeees." Sad!times. She looked around the shop as the smiled dropped from her face. She frowned up at Em giving him a pouty look as he laughed at her. "S'not. funny." she emphasised, poking his arm repeatedly. She continued to frown as he took her thank you like she meant it. "I was being sarcastic." her enjoyment ? she didn't enjoy being scared. "You could've been some stranger coming to steal my money for all I knew." she poked him again.

A small smile appeared on the brunette's face, cus she wasn't good at staying mad at people at the best of times; but it was even worse when it was Kah or Em, she could only stay mad at them for like...a few minutes. "Sooo, you came to get Evan a book, but you've forgot what it is, so your gonna have to go back without the book and then come back to get the book ?" giggle. "You should write down the name next time, silly." she thought about the question. "I've been stalking you." Even though she was in here before him, or well that was what she'd presumed, she wasn't entirely sure, he could've been here for hours. "Im kidding, if you didn't already know that, Jake needs some knew books."

"Loads," Daniel smirked, looking up at the shelves. "Hundreds, at least. And tons in the back room... I'm buying new ones all the time. It's hard to let the 'one of a kinds' go. I once sold a fully handwritten autobiography... only one of its kind."

That had been a tough one to sell... and was the most money he'd ever sold a book for.

When she said words, Daniel stopped a moment. "I wonder how many words are in this room alone," he mused... and then shook himself out of his reverie, gesturing to the left side of the shelves. "Over here. Many versions of dictionaries, but the words in them are essentially the same."

Like muggle dictionaries. Only bigger, because the wizarding world, while oblivious to many muggle words, had loads of their own worrrrrrrrds too.

What had Callie said she'd wanted? Something like Witch Weekly. He didn't really know. He didn't really care, too, to be completely honest. It was probably some trashy magazine from who knows where that printed below par articles about irrelevant issues. How to paint your names using magic.. blahblahblah. Any self-respecting wizard would know to use a simple paint charm.

Shame the magazines didn't teach you how to come by wit or knowledge.

He perused the shelves half-heartedly. She'd threatened him with loss of possessions (his Cartier watch - :O) and he felt inclined, due to the fact that she was his little sister, to make her stay at his home a little more comfortable. Even if it meant introducing this utter diminishing rubbish into his abode.

Cherry hadn't been to this bookstore in a while, and she really wanted to get some old books on hippies and stuff so that she could embrace her new lifestyle more and maybe get Pippa and Cris into it too.

She still wanted to give her best friend a make over, and she wanted to convince Pippa that make overs were cool.

She sighed and looked along the shelves, thinking that there was nothing here that would give her what she wanted. It was just sad and made her rather unhappy. She wanted her hippie book.

Looking up, she saw someone that looked vaguely familiar to her. She was sure that she had seen him before, 'cause he was an attractive man, and those kinds of people weren't easy to forget.

"Do I know you?"

James could see Tween Dweam, Kappa Catalogue, Discount Draughts and Spellman's Syllabury.. BUT NO Witch Weekly. Did they hide it with the bad magazines in a deep, dark corner? James thought so it should be put there.

He sighed. Callie was such a pain.

He frowned as he heard someone speak and turned to find someone who looked reminiscent of someone he may or may not have known asking if he knew them.

She was pretty. Yes. Very pretty.

So he'd go along with it. Until, at least, he could remember who it actually was.

"Oh, hi! Wow, it's been a long time!" He exclaimed, pulling her into a hug. Heh. How these things always worked so well for him.

For a second she had been sure that he had no idea who she was judging by the look on his face. But a moment later, she realized she was wrong about that. He DID remember her.

She beamed and hugged him. "You're more friendly than you were last time." Which might be a rude thing to say, but she didn't see it as being such; it was true at any rate.

"How have you been?" She was rather curious. That, and she was busy trying to remember his name. She knew that it started with a J at least.

James found it all rather innocuous. Quite cute, actually. Bumping into a cute girl in a bookstore. It was brilliant, in fact. More than brilliant. He needed a pick me up. Somebody that knew too little about what had happened in the past year so that he could continue living his bachelor lifestyle.

Splendid.

He pulled back from the hug and winked at her, "Musn't be too friendly with strangers." Friendly? He daren't disagree with her, lest he end up arguing and she leave. He really just wanted a hug and she looked quite pretty.

He smiled easily. "Oh, I've been brilliant." Taking her astride of the main pathway, he gave her an easy grin. "And you? How are you.. Cherry?" It was Cheery wasn't it?

She smiled at the wink, and nodded. "Yes, true. Though still friendly enough." Or they would think you were horrible and hate you and stuff. And she was a hippie now, and as such, she believed in love peace.

"I've been brilliant. I'm a new found hippie. You like hippies?" Her boyfriend found her new interest weird.

James grinned, "I hope I wasn't discourteous.. in any way." He pushed a book back into place, leaning on his heels.

...she was a what? James sighed inwardly. Merlin. He was all for embracing trends and such but seriously? This? It was too much. She was a hippy. He managed a smile, pulling it up from the depths of his uncertainty. A hippy. Did that mean she chained herself to tree's and was all about 'love everyone, world peace, blah blah'? But he was excellent at.. women and he knew that as long as you pretended to like what women liked, they'd like you too.

So going with his excellent theory, James proceeded with a: "That's awesome." And he nodded a little like he was convinced of the point. Yeah.. a hippy.. woot.

She brushed off his comment with a wave of her hand. "Oh, it's nothing. Honestly." She thought that he was a perfect gentleman even though he wasn't anything like her beloved Cris. No one was as charming as he was.

She gasped as he said that it was awesome. People didn't seem interested, or they called her weird... but he thought it was awesome.

And she suddenly wanted to have him be a part of it if he would want to do it. "Have you ever thought of becoming one yourself then?" she asked eagerly.

James nodded. Of course she would agree. His apology was completely falsified. He thought of himself as a puppet master and women as his puppets. If you pulled the right strings, they would perform exactly to plan. "We're acquainted.. we're like friends now." Friends, companions.. this was good. It could lead to some lip service.

James loved being of service.

She was gasping and James was pulling a beam from the depths of his lying, cheating catalogues. Brilliant. She was totally going for it. He sighed inwardly; this was almost becoming too easy. Charlotte or .. whatever her name was, was too easy and he was going to get bored of her gushing over his lies, pretty soon. But she was pretty. Pretty enough to keep him entertain for another.. ooh, eleven minutes. That gave him enough time to get in another hug and perhaps a smooch.

He was on a roll.

She wanted him to become a tree-hugger. Crud. How to get out of this one. He pulled at his tye awkwardly, flushing slightly and tried to remain cool. Obviously, he was cool. He was the King of Cool.

"I'm just not cut out for it, you know. I don't do well.. with the outdoors.." He coughed. He needed to sweeten the let down. "But you know, I give half my salary to charity. I give in other ways."

Man.. he was so good.

Izzie walked quietly into the shop. Seeing the people flirting in the stacks, she quickly turned the corner and went as quickly as she could to the text books. Looking around she found books that she knew her older sister used in school. She got a huge grin on her face as she slowly picked her way through books on transfiguration, charms, and DADA. She knew that she shouldn't be looking at the last ones, but they were so interesting she just couldn't put them down. She was always interested in learning something new. Except for divination and herbology. Sure, herbs were fun, but when they started screaming at you or trying to snare you with their thorns, that was just scary. "I can't believe I never knew this place existed," she said quietly to herself. She already had a small stack growing.d

Lugging all the books she needed for her first year at Hogwarts, Serena decided to treat herself. She wanted to buy herself a nice big, thick book on the stars, she loved astronomy. After finding a nice big one (Muggle Astronomers and the Myths they believe) Serena decided she'd better pay, she could come back tomorrow via the tube (her Muggle grandma had taken her on it, Serena enjoyed the underground thoroughly.)
