On either side of the shop, book shelves tower up to the ceiling and hold books of every kind. Fiction and non-fiction, autobiographies, biographies, even muggle manuals. Perhaps your interests lie in Astronomy, maybe magizoology, perhaps even the history of Mr. Zonko.

Most of your literature needs will be somewhere on these shelves, apart from the particularly delicate books or books concerning dark arts and other specialist subjects. These can be inquired about at the Third Hand Books Counter. If a book appears to be missing or out of stock, consult the shopkeeper.

Please do NOT climb the shelves and remember that some customers like silence when browsing, so keep the noise to a minimum. Likewise, please do NOT damage or deface any books.

Remember these books are old, used and third hand. It is unlikely that you will find a pristine copy. They are cheap after all.

Happy browsing, and don’t forget the pay at the counter.

The blond 16 year old walked into the bookshop in order to find a book. Well of course she was here because of a book but to be honest she wasn't sure WHAT book. Most of her days now were going to be spent roaming the Alley or sitting in her room at the Leaky Cauldron. She walked along book shelves, surprised that there weren't many people around.

Hmm... she needed a book suggestion to read. She was really pathetic at finding one worth wild. She glanced up from the book shelf she was looking at.

Where was the shopkeeper when you needed them? He/She would help her out hopefully.

On one of his routine checks throughout the store, mainly to see if any of the books had spontaneously combusted (hey... it happens), Daniel caught sight of a customer who looked quite young. And then, with a small face!palm, he remembered that school was now out.

The summer was here.

Putting on his best sales smile, Daniel approached the young lady. "Hello there. How may I help you today?" he asked politely.

Sadie suddenly heard a voice and assumed it was the shopkeeper. She turned her head, expecting a old guy or something, but who she was instead was a young looking guy. Well that was quite a shock. Andd she couldn't help but think that this shopkeeper guy was pretty...attractive?

Ehh she was pathetic. Him being cute was make this even harder for her.

Oh righttt! She needed to reply. "Umm...I was hoping to find a book to read. One that won't bore me and isn't school related. Is there any chance you know of any good ones?" she questioned, her southern accent completely visible as she spoke.

Nodding his head as the girl spoke, Daniel glanced at the shelves they were at and delicately brushed his fingertips across the spines. "Well... I can't say I'd know what would bore you... however..." The young man stepped back and brandished his arm carefully, gesturing to the books and being careful not to hit any. "I think I can safely say that I have books in this shop which will relate to any topic... if only somewhat vaguely. So... what kind of novels have you enjoyed reading in the past?"

The girl was lucky she was here for the shop just opening... alot of the books he had, he only owned a few of... or in some cases, just one. Right now he had books numbered at a quarter-mil.

But he couldn't just GUESS what the girl liked. Merlin knew that guessing facts when it came to the female of the species could be... painful.

Hmm... books she had liked? Well truth be told Sadie Perdieu was not a fan of reading. Her mother often forced her to read make in South Carolina. What kinds had she liked in the past though??? Ughh this was waay to overwhelming. When books are all around you it kind of makes you stress out.

"Well I like romance novels I suppose I could say." Didn't every teenage girl? "Or anything that has to do with society." That was pretty weird but she did like reading about problems in the world and stuff like that. She was going to get no where if she kept this up. Sadie hoped he had something in mind.

"Hmmm..." Daniel stroked his chin thoughtfully, pondering his current challenge. It was very hard not to do what he used to do and roll a lock of his blond hair between his fingers.

Before he was in danger of committing this odd action, Daniel clicked his fingers and moved further back and a little to the right. He had a habit of putting the books he had liked on the higher shelves, and he tended to remember where they were. "Here's a couple you might like," he stated, as he pulled out his wand and levitated one book down, held it carefully in one hand, located another book one shelf down and half a shelf across... and levitated that down as well.

"This one," Daniel started, holding up the book he just retrieved. "I somewhat... well, no... it's a book on romance, directed at teenagers and young adults. It's... kind of like a muggle plot I've heard of. Anyway, two teenagers want to be with each other, there's peer pressure and stuff from their families and friends, because one is from a pure-blood elitist family and the other from a family of muggle-lovers. Anyway, yeah... they have to work out how to be together."

After this kinda longwinded explanation, Daniel held up the other book. "This one is a particular favourite of mine. All witches and wizards of age suddenly disappear and the wizarding kids have to cope and run things and work out what to do. But the muggle adults are still around... all those that don't know about magic, anyway. It's very interesting."

... Soooooooooooooooooo...

"Soooooooo... if neither of these is what you're looking for, tell me if I'm getting warm and we'll keep looking," Daniel finished, offering the young lady a warm smile.

Sadie stood listening to what he had to say as he showed her two books. Hmmm... well he wasn't sure which one she would want to read more. Why did choosing a book have to be so difficult? Then a simple solution came to mind... "I'll just get both," she finally decided. Even if she didn't read both by the time school started she would just take them to school with her.

Ohhh not to mention she had been somewhat distracted by staring at the guy in front of her. Tehehe. Anyway at least she had finally came to a decision that's what mattered.

Ady was a half and half who is living in a muggle neighbourhood so he was a fan of muggle novels. he looked at books but he didnt know most of the writers beceuse he was a romanian!!! He thougth he could get some help from the shopkeeper which bookes are the best... Ady walked one corner of the shop and found the shopkeeper. Ady asked in a higher voice then people normally use in a bookstore because this was him he was always speaking loudly ''hello! can you please help me?''

Hearing another customer approach him and ask for assistance, Daniel made a mental note to himself that the place was already getting alot of custom.

"Of course I can," Daniel smiled at the boy. "How may I help you young man?"

Lacey stepped into the bookshop to see a wide range of books. her jaw dropped, amazed at the amount of books inside.
She was so excited. It has been a week since she read her last book, ( she loves reading), and she needed to read another book.
"Well... let's see," She walked towards a shelf, putting her hands on her waist as she looked at the books, "What should I get?"

shopkeeper was really nice and the idea of comic books we great. there wasnt so much wizards in romania only a lot of vampires... uhh Ady hate those men. ''well i mostly like fictional and detective books. but i sometimes read history too. It depends on how fluence is the book.''

"Hmmm..." Daniel repeated, and backed away from the shelves a little, and sidestepping the short distance to where the detective novels were. "We have Warlock Holmes, based on the muggle books of the similar name, set a century or two ago, and he's a detective. Loooooads of books in that series. Sound like your thing?" the young man asked, bending down on one knee and looking through the other detective books and pausing to look around at the boy.

Izabella walked around with her other books in her hands. "Shakespeare, Shakespeare... Aha! Here." Macbeth, Midsummer Night's Dream... and Romeo and Juliet! She picked the cover with the rose on the cover. "Perfect!" She stood there for a few minutes, just looking over all the beautiful book covers.

Adam walked into a different bookstore now. As he glanced the novels and Hogwarts recommindations he spotted a section " Comics". Checking around to see that no one was watching him he went over a picked up a comic book. It was about a wolf, a man had transformed into the wolf, and now he was trying to stop himself from biting innocent children. It seemed quite interesting so Adam flipped through it and read a few of the pages, to get an idea of what it talked about

Yeah, he wasn't like that comic book place he'd visited as a kid, where EVERY comic was in a celophane thinger.

"Well," Daniel started, tapping a finger on the shelf. "If you want to put that, and anything else you have aside, then you can come back later and pay. To get your money, you just have to go to the big white building at the end of the street, Gringotts, and ask them to help you. You can set up a vault if you want. Anyway, once you have the money, you can come back and pay. Are you nervous about going in or something?" the young man asked, not wanting to force the boy out or anything.
