| | Third Hand Books Counter
Here at the counter is where you are able to pay for your purchases and possibly talk to the shopkeeper about any questions you might have. Daniel, the shopkeeper, is always ready to hear your questions and lend a hand, and maybe even have a friendly chat with you if the time is right. Enquire about any specific books here.
Just behind the counter there are two doors. One leading to the Back Room and one leading to the Special Area where the most delicate books are kept, alongside those on more sensitive topics. OOC :: List of books are in the inventory over at the Welcome Thread. Just until I get a graphic. XD |

"And I wouldn't be able to choose, I love all books. I guess I enjoyed reading the 'Fantastic Beasts and where to find them' as a youngster" he answered. Despite the fact CoMC wasn't his best subject, the textbook had been an interesting read.
"It's alright." Anna said watching her brother walk pass the window. "I'm smarter than him anyways." Anna said a bit bossily. Truth is her and her brother did get along quite well just they bickered here and there but so does almost every brother and sister. Anna was also way smarter than her brother and he knew that. She was more like her mother, booksmart with a photographic memory. Michael was similiar since he could wing tests but he was more like Anna's dad who'd rather live for today than plan for the future. "Oh I always would see that book when I would walk around bookstores when I was younger." Anna said talking about Fantastic Beats and where to find them. "Didn't catch my eye though. But I'm sure someday I will read it." Anna finished. Anna was more interested in learning defensive spells, learning how to defend herself, foreshadowing the future or learning how to apparate then learning about flobberworms and how much lettuce they can eat. "My favorite read, so far, would probably be Magic Abroad! or A Study in Dark Arts Anna said. "Magic Abroad! was mainly about the origins of the many wizarding schools around the world and also many historical events and witches and wizards from each." Anna explained. "A Study in Dark Arts was also very interesting but also very horrific. Some of the stories sent chills down my spine." Anna said with a shiver. "I'm going to Hogwarts this year." Anna said to change to subject. "Did you go there too?" Anna asked the shopkeeper.

Looking down over the counter, Jude chuckled softly as he took out his wand and levitated the books up onto the counter. "There you go" he smiled, glancing at the books and discovering yet another first year arrival. "That'll be 2 galleons" he spoke, waving his wand over the books once more. "I'll make them lighter for you" And with a flick it was done.
Glenn handed him the money and then took into her arms her now miraculously light books. "I notice you have muggle books here," She said idly as she stuffed her purse back inside her pocket.

Enjoy your time at Hogwarts" he smiled as she left the shop. How polite these young children were. Quote:

Tyler said pointing to a very 'well loved' version of Modern Magical History that was 2 seconds from falling apart. Again, he felt the heavy pocket full of galleons but still thought the dramatically low price was too high The man raised his eyebrow at his response, it wasn't hard to distinguish lies, after all Jude had read many a book about it. But he let it slip, if he did not want to force anything on him after all. "Alright. If you are sure" he nodded. "Ah yes, yes of course. I shall charge you 3 knuts for that instead" he spoke, taking the book in his hand and waving his wand to make sure the binding didn't come undone before the boy even left the shop. Quote:

Arlo grinned at the idea of a large library. It sounded like a lot of fun, exploring that and such. "I think I go to the library first!" he said with another grin. "Thanks," he said to him, taking his change and leaving with all of his bags. "Ah I know what you mean" he spoke winking. "I'm sure you've already picked up on the accent. I'm fully Irish, moved to England only recently" he said in his distinct accent. "It's no problem" he said as he took the money and put it into his money pouch. "Have a good time at Hogwarts, I'm sure you'll enjoy the Library" he chuckled as the child left. Quote:

He took the booked and looked it over. "Um, I-I've heard of it," he said, not quite answering his question, but it didn't matter because there were more books where he could do his research. "Thanks," he said, trully grateful. He shoved his hand inside his trouser pocket and searched for money. "H-How much do I owe you?" he asked. He was glad to help new people. But Jude worried that his suggestion wasn't quite what he was looking for. It was a common book after all, it was used often in History lessons and therefore it would be a necessity anyway. "Are you sure you just want this one?" he asked tilting his head. "I mean, I fully recommend Magic for Beginners if you are a complete novice to the Wizarding World," which would probably be of more use to him. "It's great for explaining a lot of the confusing and wonderful attributes of this place. Give you a few basic spells to read up on and even explain details on what to do here" he explained. "It's 6 sickles for the History of Magic" he stated. "An extra 4 sickles on top for the other" Seeing as it was classed as a research book. Quote:

The mature one was cleverer. Though to be honest, Dylan, although not Ravenclaw material and perhaps not as studious as Jude was, was still as mature as his older brother. "You'll need it for you CoMC lessons at school, its definitely a great help. I guess I liked every book, the Library was simply wonderful" a glisten came to his eye as he spoke. "Do you enjoy Muggle literature?" he asked leaning forward and lowering his voice a fracture. "There's a book, a number one best seller in the Muggle World. It's entitled 'Peace, Love and Magic' It didn't really hit off in the Wizarding world, I guess because a lot of it was considered reality. If you do give it a try, remember to bring it back here" he informed her and left it at that. "I did. Almost a decade ago now I left. Ravenclaw house" he chuckled. She obviously liked a good conversation. Quote:

Plus we tend to get a lot of Muggleborns through these doors, its nice to make them feel comfortable and accepted" he told her.

Tera took the first year set of books from the table and walked over to the counter. She wanted to stay in the store much longer, and buy many more books, but she had more important things to do that day. She put the books down on the counter.
"How much will this cost please?"

How much will that be plz Jude looked at the pile of books, he was so used to seeing the full set by now that his speech just came out as natural. "That'll be 2 galleons please?" he asked the student. Quote:

"How much will this cost please?" And another one. Easy as pie. An army of first year students carrying a huge pile of books. "2 galleons for the lot please" he told her. Quote:

"Yeah..." Glenn trailed off and looked over her shoulder towards the door, and spied her brother waiting outside leaning against some building. "I've got to go anyway, thank you!" She said.
She gave a hurried wave as she made sure she had everything and exited the shop and smiled a little, wondering how long she had made Thomas wait for her.
