Default The Spiny Serpent

The vases out front are only a hint of what you’ll find inside the Spiny Serpent. As you pass through the doorway a buzzer that howls like a banshee goes off, announcing your presence to the shopkeeper and the denizens of The Spiny Serpent. The store is split between flora and fauna; sentient plants, magical plants, dangerous plants, semi-illegal plants, can all be found here. Likewise any dangerous or dark creature you have a hankering for can be found within the walls of the shop.

If there is a creature you'd fancy but can't quite be bothered with applying for the appropriate permits, you've come to the right place. Need guides for breeding magical plants or creatures? You'll find those here too, plus everything you'll need in your, shall we say, creative endeavors.

Anything that you can’t see on the shelves in front of you can still be found... for the right price, so go ahead and place an order if you dare, just remember you didn’t get it from here.

Return to Knockturn Alley when you're done, and check out the other shops on the upper level...

... if you have business there.

Sigh. Why did this sort always come at this time of the day? What was it about the early evening atmosphere that made others certifiably crazy and, far worse, pathetic?

Emma watched him struggle to gain his footing, ever alert as she hoped the goblin was too. You didn't underestimate your opponent, not even when they were clearly beaten and certainly not when they were reaching for their wand. His choppy movements gave enough time for even her 2 year old to react. It left her wondering why he even bothered. In a situation like this, one needed to be quick to be effective and she for one was already well shielded by the time the floor went crumbling beneath them.

The floor. Her floor. The floor of the shop she owned that would now need fixing. The hole this dip stick made after being asked on several occasions to leave.

Her floor.

The hole didn't go very deep, giving way to the basement that lay right beneath the room they were previously in. Clouds of dust swirled angrily about the room and bits of the ceiling/floor still came raining down. He had ruined her shop and had effectively locked himself in deeper.

There would be hell to pay.

Oh for the love of Merlin.

The goblin had been quick enough to find himself at the doorway by the time the floor caved in on itself. From this spot he watched both his boss and their latest bit of trouble fall to the floor below. It was a grave mistake on his part. The boss wouldn't be too keen on such a thing.

At the very least, it would set business back by a day or two. Nothing she would be happy with.

The goblin peered into the clouds of dust, trying to see anything from where he stood.

Okay...

This was a completely bad idea.

He gasped for air, having been knocked out of his chest, and rolled onto his back. He really thought it would go into the shop below, not the freaking basement.

Sleater knew as soon as the dust cleared, she would kill him right there and then. He needed to focus on apparating and fast.

His eyes wild with adrenaline, the last thing he saw was her piercing eyes in the clearing dust...and then he was gone.

Shoot, he lost his shoe.

It would seem his common sense finally kicked in. It took a whole lot of prodding but he was finally gone--and good thing too. The wand she'd raised was exactly two seconds from casting a cruciatus curse. She may not have killed him, but it would be close enough.

For someone on every one of her nerves, a quick death was inappropriate.

Now he was gone and there was nothing to soothe the irritation that steadily coursed through her entire body. Dark brown eyes rose to the whole in the ceiling.

"Korpsit, I need this cleaned. We'll work on the fix up in the morning. Meet me in my office when your done." With that, the woman turned on her heels and headed up the stairs. Escaped prey was irksome. She would need to ensure it never happened in future.
