If you are in need of a place to hold a meeting or a conference, look no further than The Leaky Cauldron. This Private Parlour has been used in the past for meetings with the Minister of Magic. Ministry members may book this room for meetings or conferences.
Inside, the room is made of dark wood. Several small tables run down the length of the room and many cozy, rolling chairs line it. If fewer people are attending, the table can be shortened for a more personal meeting. The room is eloquent, with tapestries hanging on the wall and portraits of famous wizards and witches line the wall, willing to give their advice if you want it (or if you don't). In each corner sits a suit of armor, regal and rigid.
Unless you have reserved this room, though, you are not permitted to enter. Please direct all inquiries about the use of this room to Ryoma.
this room is currently: CLOSED

As she'd waited to see what angle their teasing was going to take, it became slightly harder for Renée to not laugh. Especially as it seemed it took some thought for the simple challenge of Jared's point, and she rewarded it with a raised eyebrow before grinning. Managing to hold the laugh in. "And where would we be without situations like that?," she asked facetiously. The inference was that there would be no openings for conversation, but that seemed rather impossible. Especially when he kept surprising her with things like this dinner. And birthday presents, even though he'd never officially revealed himself as the sender. It wasn't likely to have been her family, or her editor, and given the common knowledge of their exploration of faculty files, the list had narrowed.
When he spoke about his previous studies of Divination, she paused in her meal to listen interestedly. Perhaps this would shed more light into his theory of being dreadful at the subject, but as the revelation concluded, she was unable to continue resisting the urge to laugh. "That would be a rather unfortunate end, but I can assure you that has only happened a few times in history," she replied, still highly amused. In fact, she hadn't ever thought about a situation like that, but now that it had been brought up, she was glad at least one of her students wasn't there to hear that. She knew he wasn't entirely serious though, and she imagined everyone had ridiculous ideas like that when in school. She'd had several, although she had pushed those memories back almost involuntarily when other events had occurred.
Making herself uncomfortable with her thoughts, she applied herself to finishing the last few bites of her meal before she heard him speak again, and she looked back up, finally back to her previous demeanor. At the challenge, if nothing else. "Does he truly think she'd be that cruel?," she inquired, still oddly intrigued by their moment of third-person referral. At least it was entertaining, as opposed to thinking about her mother again. She hoped he knew it was all in good fun, and his grin seemed to establish that. And as he continued, still echoing her earlier mischievousness, she relaxed and sent him another little grin. "It still has to involve a bit more creativity than realism, but sadly I have to say that's true."
A lazy grin met the raised eyebrow. "Not here, for one," he said. Talking to others could become the equivalent of talking to oneself, if that became the norm. In fact, one might be better off just sticking to the latter, should something of that sort happen. Unless pursuing a conversation with a doorknob or two sounded like a better idea.
Though, of course, human beings have been known to adapt to stranger things, before.
"Unfortunate is not the term," Jared said, sounding as amused as he felt because of the adjective she had chosen, before he helped himself to another bite. He had a feeling the people that could be subjected to the kind of end in question, might agree. Though he doubted that, Inner Eye or not, such a thing had occurred to most of them. "For some reason, that assurance isn't particularly reassuring," he grinned. "It's bad enough that it's happened before, let alone happened a few times."
There seemed to be a change in her train of thoughts and countenance, though, for a moment there; but it had gone almost at once, and he had no time to reflect over it. And it seemed he was going to be referred to as a third person too, now. "Do you think he could?" he asked, though his expression turned from amused to mildly curious at her next remark.
"Sadly?" Considering that the original remark had been her imagining that she'd say he knew certain things better.

"Sadly?" Considering that the original remark had been her imagining that she'd say he knew certain things better.
"Of course not," Renée replied, still with the amused and mischievous grin on her face. Especially as he'd given her the lazy grin again. It was amusing to try and get that from him, or the even less likely true grin. She still thought that non-discussion would be an extraordinarily boring experience, and she had been known to talk to herself in the past. It was a side effect of her Divination work, she imagined, but sometimes she felt talking through interpretations aloud made more sense than just in her head. That didn't seem to be something she need mention, however, and he hadn't offered any more enlightenment either, so she left it at that. That they wouldn't be here if discussions weren't possible. And teasing, especially.
Not having quite as much on her plate as it seemed he had, she was left to send him another raised eyebrow glance as he responded to her quip regarding seers and untimely visions. Of course, it was followed by another smile, so it intentionally seemed to be more curious than reproving. "Do you have another suggestion as to how to describe it?," she queried, laugh barely being suppressed. It wasn't actually a funny conversation, but for some reason the telling of it seemed that way. Even with her knowledge of people that were struggling with visions. "I don't honestly know, but there have been some who haven't had their visions listened to. That's almost the same situation, I'd think," she added, veering away from the levity for a moment. The facetiousness seemed to have been tamped down by the reality, brought back by his denial of reassurance. "I doubt you'd have to worry about that, though, with your self-professed Divinatory failure," she couldn't help but add, a bit of the teasing coming backbut not entirely at the sake of denigrating true Diviners.
It seemed he'd picked up on her moment of solemnity, which she hadn't wanted but seemed she couldn't avoid. He didn't question it, so she wasn't going to voluntarily bring her mother back to mind. That discussion could wait for another time. "I would hope he couldn't," she responded, voice back to its light tone, even though the complete third-person referral was getting quite hilarious. She knew he was curious, but wouldn't say more. In fact, she couldn't truly admit to much more, but leaving the hint of mystery was too tempting to ignore.
"Well, I'm being made to admit I'm wrong, even just the tiniest bit, so sadly it is," she explained, sending him another grin. It was another instance of their conversation geting a bit off course, but it was still a valid point. To her mind, at least.

Ryoma made his way back from the party still feeling a bit dazed and confused about the entire thing. Seeing the sign that his boss had put up, Ryoma took is down.

Gabriel entered the private room and scanned it with searching eyes, having never before set foot in it. First seeing the dark panelled walls, then the armour in each corner, before finally resting on the seats around the small table. They didn't half look comfortable. And after the day he'd had, comfy was what he needed. Ministry chairs seemed to be designed to make you not want to sit down for very long - which considering he liked to patrol sometimes, and keep an eye on things, wasn't always a bad thing. But he was here for a purpose...
Sipping the firewhiskey he'd bought on his way through, Gabe pulled out a chair and plonked himself on it. Taking a quick glance at his watch - he was early, it appeared - he leant back to wait for his friend. And wait for the news the man had to share with him.
Damien was a little late... as usual. Heh. At least he had good reason this time and all that. Making sure the wife and... WARD were fed and all that was important after all. Stepping into the private parlour he spun the little silver band on his finger and smiled at his friend.
"Gabriel. Thank you so much for meeting me here. I appreciate your taking interest and all," he said with a grin as he approached the table with his hand outstretched.
Frankie entered the room looking a little put out. Jeez! Some men could be so pushy around here. Honestly!
When she spotted Damien and Gabe, she quickened her step and hurried over. "Sorry if I'm late," she said, dropping her bag on the table. "Good to see you both."

And the opening of the door signalled that the man Gabe was waiting for had arrived. Smiling back to Damien, he placed his glass down on the table and stood up. Taking the offered hand firmly in his own, Gabriel gave it a strong shake. "No problem. Must say interested and intrigued in equal measure. Anything that will help me know Borr a bit better, or how to deal with him, is something I'd want to know."
Gesturing to the seat next to his own, he sat back down and crossed his legs in a relaxed fashion. He wasn't seated for long though...

"Frankie, welcome." Standing back up, Gabe pulled out a chair for her to sit in. Always polite towards woman, or his mother would kill him. "We haven't started, so not technically late," he grinned, waiting for her to sit before he himself sat back down again.
Damien nodded his head to Frankie and moved to pull her into a one armed hug and shook Gabe's hand at the same time. Before he had a chance to tell Frankie she was not late at all, Gabe had spoken up. Good man.
Pulling out a chair for Frankie he then moved to one at the head of the table. Smiling a bit he ran a hand through his hair and then took a deep breath. "Okay before we get on with the heavy... I have some personal news," he said and waved that all important finger on his left hand. "Now... yeah, I got married recently. Very small ceremony stateside. You two are closer to me than most, so I wanted to share that with you. NOW. Have either of you heard of the Cult of Walpurgis?" he asked and sat back in his seat, hands on the table.

Gabriel had settled again, and smiled as he watched Damien take his own seat. Of course the first news was not something he was expecting, and it almost made him splutter into his firewhiskey. He'd got married? Well, well, well. Grinning broadly, Gabe clapped his hands together. "Congratulations, man! The lovely young lady from Borr's party, I presume?"Well I'll be."Have to have some kind of party for you both soon," he winked. Oh, how he'd love that.
But yes, onto the more serious, work stuff. Cult? "Vaguely, yes. Although I don't know enough to give you a full description of what they're all about, I must admit." Leaning back, Gabe crossed his arms and furrowed his brow. Now he really WAS interested.

"Thanks so much, Gabe," she smiled, smoothing her disheveled hair. She should have just hexed the jerk. It would have been less damaging on her appearance.

Frankie smiled brightly and hugged Damien hard around his neck. "This is why I missed seeing you everyday," she said, taking her seat.
After getting comfortable, Frankie sat forward ready to listen up. She was NOT expecting what she heard next. "Oh my! Damien, congratulations!" She was too dumbfounded to say much else. And this wasn't the time to give him grief over not telling her before. They were here for business.
Trying to keep her shocked expression relaxed, Frankie chose to simply answer the man's question. "I've been keeping my ear to the wall but I haven't heard much. What are they about, Damien?"

Nodding his head he smiled crookedly at Gabe and then chuckled. "Yeah, that's her. Indeed. Gemini," he said softly. The idea of a party brought him chuckling harder still. "Sure, why not... sure I can be jovial enough for one evening, eh?" Not likely.

Laughing at her he shook his head. "No one hugged you after I left? Is that it? What a shame. I would have stuck around for hugs," he said with a great snort. Then he nodded his head in thanks to her congratulations.
Now. Down to business.
"From what we understand... Borr and the other members of the Ministry appointed by him are indeed members of the Cult of Walpurgis. They have infiltrated our Ministry and have been turning things upside down from the inside." Pausing for a moment to summon forward the bottle of Firewhisky and a glass he sighed.
"The basis is supposed to be something about ridding the world of the Statute of Secrecy and for Wizarding kind to help Muggles... with everything from cures to illnesses to environmental protection. Hence the new Department," he said dryly as he poured the glass full.
If that was their only worry... "What concerns us is that since this campaign has started in our midst... there have been crimes of violence against mainly shopkeepers in Wizarding Britain. One from Godric's Hollow even... not just kidnappings, deaths have been reported as well."
Frankie laughed at his hug comment and shook her head. "Whose hugs could compare to yours?" she teased.
She listened intently as he spoke, making mental notes of certain details. Instead of wasting time, Frankie cut to the chase. "Understanding their motives is important," she said, crossing her legs. "But what are they gaining by attacking shopkeepers?" The dots just weren't connecting for her there. "Do we have any leads, Damien?" she asked gravely.

Gemini. That was her name. Gabe was very certain his friend had made a good choice there - whether she had was another matter. hehe. "Lovely girl," Gabe nodded, raising his glass to Damien in a semi-toast to the good news. And as for the party... "Maybe a whole evening is asking a bit much," he laughed. "Perhaps we should just stick to drinks for a couple of hours."

This was certainly not good news. And Gabriel had the feeling that a couple of the suspicious looking people he saw at Borr's party were some of the ones Damien meant. He wouldn't have put it past them to act violently - they had that sort of demeanour.
Gulping down the last of his firewhiskey, Gabe slid his glass forward and pointed at the bottle. "I think I'm going to need another one of those," he sighed. Sucking on his bottom lip he thought about everything his friend had just told them. He had wondered what they had an Environmental Protection department for - considering most Ministries got by very well without one, thank you. "And now with Borr as Minister, they can do a more effective job of infecting us from the inside out, I suppose," he sighed, picking up his re-filled glass and leaning back again in his seat.
He could understand them wanting to infiltrate the Ministry to achieve their plans, but his thinking seemed to be the same as Frankie's when it came to the shopkeepers. "I was thinking the same thing," he nodded towards her, before looking back at Damien. "How would attacking them get them what they want?" And leads would be most helpful, even if Gabe's remit was internal security. By the sound of it he would have his hands full with that.
Damien corked the Firewhisky bottle and sent it soaring back to Gabe. Sipping from it a bit he looked from Frankie back to Gabe and then shook his head. "No leads that I am aware. None other than it is from within the Cult, perhaps. As to any specific person, I have not been given any information to the contrary," he said and then took a larger drink from the glass.
"And for the life of me I can not work out what the hell they would be gaining from attacking shopkeepers. It baffles me. Ministry officials would make more sense. Start with the higher ranking and work your way down the ladder? More effective and more eye catching if you will. I can't work out what this is supposed to solve. Unless... it is just a member that is losing his or her cool with these people..." he trailed off and gave a slight shrug.
It could be some temper heavy moron that is just losing it... or there could be concrete reason as to why these things are going on.

Moving the bottle to the side, and out the way, Gabe leant forward in his chair and rested his elbows on the table. Swilling his drink in the glass thoughtfully, he took a quick sip as he listened to what Damien thought of all the goings on. "I guess we just need to keep an eye out for anything that could be linked to this. If there aren't any leads yet, that you've been told - well, search for our own, maybe?" Gabriel mused, placing his chin on a clenched fist and sighing.
But they were all at a loss over the shopkeeper business. It just made no sense at all. Unless the people, or person, doing it had the intention of disrupting everyday life for wizard folk. But that would go against what the Cult seemed to be about. "Maybe they're setting up for something bigger, and kidnapping the shopkeepers is a step on the ladder towards their goal...." Although what that goal was - well, that was anyone's guess. Scratching his chin, Gabe glanced down the table at Damien and raised his eyebrows. They were stumped.
Damien removed his hat and ran a hand through his newly cut hair, his brow furrowed showing a bit of his age. Sighing slightly he nodded his head. "I am going to brief the whole team on the Cult and the strange events and whatnot. Hopefully they can focus long enough to actually take these things to heart and get out there and do something," he said with a bitter taste in his mouth. They didn't seem at all interested in the job lately... considering they couldn't even get through a single meeting without spacing out on him.
"I had thought of that... possibly just a means to an end type of action. I suppose it's not unheard of. It just baffled me seeing as they have already infiltrated our Ministry, ya know," he said as he tossed his hat into the seat next to him and grabbed up his glass once more.
Draining nearly the entire contents of his glass in one go he sighed again.

Making his was into the private parlour with trays of food charmed to follow him, Ryoma took one quick scan of the room to make sure that everything was in its proper place before he began setting up. First on his check list was the tea and coffee station which he set up off to the right of the doorway. On the table in the center of the room he arranged the sandwich platter, what he thought was a cruditéspeople shouldn't use such fancy words when making requests from him, and two differenttrays of desserts. Nodding in approval at the scene, Ryoma waited by the door for the Ms. Howard who had reserved the room to make sure that everything she needed was there.
OOC: this room is currently reserved for the members of the IUMO Division only. Anyone else seen posting in here shall have their posts removed without notice.

Caedwyn hurried to the Leaky Cauldron well ahead of anyone else in hopes that she could assist Mr. Shiradou with anything necessary. It was strange ordering food and things when she was perfectly capable of putting together a sandwich tray, but she wanted to start off on the right foot with her employees.
"Ooooh." She paused on her way into the room, giving everything an approving nod. "This looks perfectly lovely. Thank you so much for all your work."

Aubrie was excited for this meeting where she could really get acquainted with the rest of her MLE division. She stepped into the Leaky Cauldron and looked around before finally finding the private parlour where the meeting was being held. She stepped in to see food everywhere. It all looked so delicious, but first she was going to be polite and greet her boss person division leader.
"Hello Cade," she said with a smile greeting the head of division. "And this all looks so lovely Mr. er..." and this is where the kind bartender lent Aubrie his name. Then she looked at the refreshments table. She grabbed a coffee cup and filled it up with coffee then grabbed some creamer and sugar. Old habits of extremely flavored coffee died hard.

"Ryoma will do just fine," he winked at the woman who seemed to be inquiring about his name. Mr. Shiradou was a title reserved for his old man and he refused to be called that until he was at least in his thirties - and even then would probably insist that he just be called Ryoma.
"Well, if you don't need anything else...I should get back to the bar," he said, jabbing both thumbs over his shoulder in the direction of the door. With Harley due any day now, Ryoma had been running around keeping everything running as smoothly as possible. Marshmallow had been put to work again waiting tables, so that was helpful. "If you need anything, you know where to find me."
And one more wink for good measure as he made his way out.

"Aubrie," Cade watched the bartender leave, blushing slightly at all the WINKING that had just happened, but her smile was very bright for her co-worker. "You're first. I hope the coffee is better than MLE. I feel like ignoring the food and heading straight for that dessert tray, but I have a feeling that somehow, my mother would know."

Coming to the Leaky Cauldron for a meeting definitely had been a first for Raven since she had been at Hogwarts, but the meetings then were between friends and they were just meant to be fun. This was important since it had to do with work, namely the meeting of her division which seemed like it was going to be interesting after the new arrivals; hopefully there wasn't going to be any drama since she dealt with enough of that before. Stepping into the private parlour, she looked around to notice that there were two other women here; hmm maybe she was still early. But her attention was immediately taken away as soon as she saw the tea & coffee station, conversation could wait for the moment; first was a good cup of tea.
Aubrie smiled slightly at the man who clearly enjoyed winking at people. "Well thank you Ryoma for setting this all up. It is wonderful." At least from her perspective.

Which was shameful for a woman her age!
Aubrie smiled back at the head of IUMO. "How are you today?" Aubrie asked as she took a sip of her coffee. "This coffee is defiantly delicious. And I agree. The desserts look amazing, but I know I should force myself to eat a sandwich first." To enforce that for herself she walked over to the sandwich table and put one on a plate. There now she had to eat it.

Ren'Ai was coming to the Leaky Cauldron after months of no time for herself. But she didn't mind. Just like she thought it was great to get out of her house and away from her desk for the day.
She could smell tea, and turned immediately towards it.
