" Ok , a sandwitch and a cup of tea please and DON'T BE LATE " she demanded , and watched Charles while walking away . Cheryl opened her bag and picked up the list she has already prepered for her and her brother and started to read what is written on her head quills books robes ... we've got plenty of stuff to buy she thought ! |
Sinead Murphy whipped along in a mass of green flames, stepping out of the fireplace into the Leaky Cauldron. A swish of wind blew away the ashes clinging to her jewel blue robes just as her father, dressed business-like in black robes, arrived in the Floo just behind her. Micheal Murphy promptly placed a reassuring hand on his daughters shoulder: he knew how much she loathed the network, despite having used it for most of her short life. The just-turned-eleven-year-old looked a little paler than usual. “Here, sweetheart,” Micheal said gently, as he pressed a black velvet coin-purse, spelled against thieves and heavy with wizarding coins, into her palm. “This is some shopping money for today. Now that you’re going to Hogwarts, we can start dipping into that supply we’ve been saving up for you!” “Thank you, father,” Sinead replied with a smile. It did not bother her that none of her money was hers. She was accustomed to having everything paid for. She also understood the importance of this moment – her parents had been forced to turn Brighid’s gold into a pile of Muggle money, since her older sister had failed to be born with enough magical blood to attend Hogwarts. Sinead’s mother, Kathleen, was speaking at an informational meeting (run by the Society For The Support Of Squibs) at this very moment, in support of her abnormal sister. “May we get something to eat at the Leaky before shopping?” It was nine in the morning, and Sinead, who had eaten nothing at the manor in fear of their Floo traveling, was more than a little peckish. “You read my mind, Sinead!” Micheal followed his daughter to the counter of the Leaky Cauldron. |
Last on his places to visit was the Floo Network. While this was one of the easier was to go in and out of Diagon Alley, he really didn't want to deal with having to clean up after everyone. Nope, he wanted to enjoy the carnival! "Closing up!" he called. He then placed a posted on the wall of one of the fireplaces. Really, the poster explained it all, right? OOC: I am sure you all have seen the site wide announcement, so please go and have fun RPing at the carnival. All the shopkeepers and shopkeeper assistants have worked very hard to make this event the best it can be, so we hope that you enjoy it! The Leaky Cauldron will be open for another 24 hours and then all threads will be locked for a few days. Please feel free to RP your character reacting to Ryoma and his announcement, but try to wrap things up and head over to enjoy the carnival! |
So that was Floo travel was it? Tom wasn't sure if he approved. Sure it was impressive an' all that, but the tube seemed a lot less stressful and unlikely to give you motion sickness than this weird green fire that sent you a-flyin'. He coughed as he exited the fireplace and turned and looked back at the flames with an accusing look on his face. *frown* At least it seemed he had appeared where he was supposed to be. He had been warned in advance that if you didn't speak clearly, you could end up in Timbuktu if you weren't careful. Tom had never heard of such a place before but he was pretty sure he didn't want to end up there. So upon entering the fireplace, he cleared his throat and made sure to speak nice and clearly and not in his usual thick accented manner. So far, so good... he guessed. He tore his eyes away from the green flames and focused on an eye catching poster on the wall. Wozzat word say? 'Carn-i-val.' Wasn't that what posh people called the circus? And.. *squint* ..Broom flying? Was it really true that magic folk could fly on what muggles used to clean the floor? That sounded pretty cool. Better than travelling by fireplace. It seemed he had arrived just in time as he heard time being called by the barman. He began to walk towards the main area of.. ..'The Leaky Cauldron? Blaady strange name ain' it?' *frown* |
Ooooooh. That was COOL! If not slightly bewildering. After leaving her biggest brother on the other side of the fireplace as he instructed her on exactly what to do, Gwenyth, or Gwen as she would henceforth be called because Gwenyth was far too.. Welsh and posh or her liking, stepped out of the large fireplace, twice the size of her and glanced around. A big bright poster hanging on the wall caught her attention immediately as she gasped at what it said. A carnival?! That seemed like fun. The lonesome very almost thirteen year old stepped a few steps forward, ending up although she did not actually know it, next to a young boy. With very little hair.. O________________________O She jumped as she turned and noticed him next to her. Blimey. HE was a wizard? But.. But.. She blinked a few times not saying anything at all. |
Thomas had paused to study the carnival poster again. There were words on there.. long words he couldn't quite read. He wondered if was 'maagic code for somefin'.' There was so much to learn and he had only just arrived in the magical world. He was suddenly aware of a presence next to him and Tom's natural response was to turn and frown at the young girl who was looking at him with an expression of bewilderment on her face. What the craap? Ain' no one told 'er it's rude to stare? “Wotcha fink you're lookin' at?” He asked her bluntly.. and without an awful lot of grace. |
Oh my goodness he was looking at her. Blinking back into realisation, the young girl turned quickly away and started studying the poster closer, pretending as if nothing had happened and she had only been concentrating on reading the poster. Carnival? That made coming to Diagon Alley a lot more exciting than it already was. She hadn't been to a carnival before. She'd been to a fair but it was only a muggle one because her brother had dragged her there. "Umm.. Nothing" she looked at him, wide eyed and then down at the floor. "Sorry" her voice came out as a whisper. The accent was intimidating, the haircut even more so. Though she could definitely guess where he had come from. |
Tom frowned and frowned.. and then frowned some more. Gal looked sortah.. frightened? *frown* Tom really had no clue how others perceived him. His lack of grace.. his mere accent and facial expressions alone could seem intimidating. But he couldn't help it either, could he? He was a product of what his parents and the environment he had grown up in had shaped him to be. And he wasn't about to change.. He looked at the girl for a moment longer and then carelessly shrugged his slouched shoulders. “Dun' mattah.” He replied, deciding it was travelling by floo that had made her nervous and not him. Or.. maybe she was one of these purebloods who hadn't seen a muggle before. Freddie had told him all about those. “Wotcha fink of tha'?” He jabbed a slumpy finger at the poster on the wall. “You plannin' on checkin' it ou'?” |

The fifth year moved forwards to read what was written on the poster .. Carnival? "Wait a moment there, Cherr," He called after his sister who was standing by the side of the fireplaces, checking her list. Why'd she even bother with lists, Charles never found out. "Come take a look at this." He called to her, standing behind the two people that were already standing there. Charles didn't pay them much attention as this Carnival poster has taken up his mind. Now this was really interesting .. :eyebrows: |
Holli felt herself appear and stepped out. She coughed and proceeded to the North End of the Street |

She reached the wall and read the paper Magical Travelling" Carnival " she said loudly carnival , of curse ! what carnival now ? and how they were going to close the Leaky ? Cheryl looked at Charles as if he was supposed to explain . |

"Ha! This means, we won't be able to do any shopping, since most of the shops are probably going to close down for the carnival." He added triumphantly. This meant that they'd have to come to Diagon Alley again after the carnival was over, and that was the cool part. Woot woot. "You can't do anything about it, " He added grinning widely, and leading the way outside. |

" We should go back to home , that way we can come back alone again later , remember we have promised them and BTW I thought you was hungrey no ? " she continued and looked at him " Ok ... to home ? " he won't agree , she was 64564164664878798565% sure of that , but it was worth a try . |

"We can come again, but we're going to the carnival today," He told her, making up his mind. He'd never go back home, it was too good of an oppurtunity to miss. :/ "And besides mum and dad are not expecting us to go back home early, so we'll just surprise them if we go back and there's no NEED for that." He nodded. That made sense. "Yes, I am, I'm starving actually," He told her, "And there's probably food in the carnival!" He told her, stating the obvious. "Have you ever heard of a carnival without food?" [:/] It was decided |
Hahahaha XD CHARLES ! Quote:
No no .. she promised her parents but Charles was insisting way too much that he made Cheryl almost agree " Eh... " she said and thought that her parents won't know anyway . " Oh well " she gave up " But two things , One : we won't tell our parents anyway , Two : We get back to home early , Deal ? " she asked . Decided XD |

At once Anna entered the Floo Network Station through the fire place. It was always kind of wow feeling for her, each time she traveled through flooing. She always had a great experience and she also liked it because it was very fast and quick and no humans knew they just arrived as all the ash was removed with the spell. She really loved it. So as she arrived at the Leaky Cauldron she headed towards the North End of the Street. She had to complete her work for the tree plantation program. Sadly she couldn’t find any of her team member there so she thought to head over and do the planting herself before it was too late. |
vijaya and Pixie! Pop! Armen had posted the list of Floo connections that needed to be check not just a few hours ago and Anna, his Floo Network Authority Supervisor was already ready to go out into the field. After chosing the connections in the Leaky Cauldren pub, Armen decided it would be a good way to get out of the office and perhaps keep his mind off of his break-up with Izzy and it would be best if he tagged along. |
Ryoma just so happen to be doing a routine check of the Leaky Cauldron when a Ministry-looking someone came popping out of one of them. Merlin...NOW what? First some bloke had come in demanding to examine all the plants in his establishment despite them having been inspected and approved by the Ministry only a few days previously, and now some bloke with a check list was showing up. Ryoma's brow furrowed and he was about to give the man a piece of his mind when he remembered a request he had put in weeks ago about getting two of is Floo Networks looked at. Everything just HAD to be done at the Ministry's pace now didn't it. "Took you long enough to get here," he said with his arms crossed and his right foot tapping like an impatient 5-year-old. |
The noise of clinking glasses and conversation filled Mandie's ears as she stepped out of the fireplace. She stifled a cough behind her hand and glanced around the leaky cauldron, making sure she had come to the right place. Once satisfied she hadn't ended in some random witch or wizard's house, she head for the gateway to Diagon Alley, tucking flyaway strands of dark brown hair into the ponytail at the back of her head as she went. |
haha and off we go. lol Quote:
Just as he was about to find the owner, he arrived--quite rudely though. Armen stared at him blankly as he took of his leather gloves. "Armen Recard, Department Head of Magical Transportation. You must be the Bar-keep, Mr.--" he didn't know his name. |
yep xD I hope I do the world of men proud! Quote:
Oh yeah, Ryoma was going all punk on this bloke. He must look real intimidating with a fluffy white cotton ball of a cat on his shoulder. Yep. "Owner of the Leaky Cauldron, Ryoma Shiradou," he replied eyeing the leather gloves as they were removed. "Mr. Shiradou is a title reserved for my old man, so Ryoma will do Mr. Recard." He really should throw all politeness out the cauldron right now. The department was late in coming to fix some of his broken floo networks after all. "Stations five and eight have been acting up recently. Sent one lady who distinctly said London to somewhere in the middle of the Amazon last week." Yeah, filing THAT paperwork had been a nightmare. Compensation? Ryoma was expecting it. |
Quote:
After he removed his gloves, he took off his heavy travelling cloak and then quickly shrunk both with a tap of his wand and placed them in the pocket of his dark grey suit. "Owner?" He eyed the man. "Yes Owner that's what I said. Nice to meet you--Ryoma." Listening as the man began to complain about the Floo connections that were giving him trouble Armen finally rasied a hand to stop him. "Yes Ryoma, I am aware of your floo's issues. We recieved the paper work you so...deligently filled out and we met with the woman you just referred to." He said dryly. Really, yelling about your issues will not help them get solved sooner. "So it's connections 5 and 8 you say?" he walked over to the fifth connection and looked at it's face. It looked normal. No outside damage. |
Quote:
If he meant something else, they that went right over Ryoma's empty head. Oh good, so his paperwork had gone through. "Five and eight have been acting up," he nodded, pretty much repeating himself. "Eight has been smoking mostly after someone floos out of the Leaky Cauldron, so I've had it closed off." With a nice big fat yellow banner right across the front. "What do you reckon is causing the fifth station to send people off to the Amazon?" |
Quote:
"I think it has merely been overused..." he said tapping it with his wand again. "Yes, that is the problem. It is located in a high traffic zone I assume is the cause but I will put it right, no worries." he quickly began to trace his wand around the outer edge of the floo and whispered incantations under his breath. "Alright and which one was the other trouble-causer?" he said eying the Barman. |
