| | Street Vendors Though numerous street peddlers line the streets of Diagon Alley, customers would be wise to be wary of them. Any number of items can be found hawked on the streets daily, many useless and some illegal. One might be able to buy a cheaper wand, running the risk of it exploding during use. Bottoms have been known to fall out of the defective cauldrons bought from one of the carts. Not all is bad, though. Discounted jewelry can be bought, though the gold or gems may not be pure. One some days, a hag comes through with a cart of wind-chimes, some proclaimed to warn of burglars. Often, knick-knacks and small décor can be found in various carts. Be warned, though – sometimes the items being sold have been stolen from others.
Beyond item hawkers, various stalls are set up selling street food. Try a Cauldron Bread (a bread bowl carved out with soup or chowder served inside), stop by and grab some skewers/kebabs to go, hit up the Confetti Popcorn (the fizzy popcorn is supposedly made with real Muggle soda and fizzes in your mouth; dill pickle flavored even crunches like a pickle; berry flavored popcorn actually has dried cranberries, which goes well with the raspberry, blackberry and strawberry flavored popcorn). If you’re looking for a quick snack, the streets have enough.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Jacoby Rivers Hufflepuff Sixth Year Hogwarts RPG Name: Callista Rivers Gryffindor Second Year | Open Stealthy Ninja Queen | Snake For Life | waddling baker | binge royalty ♚ Things has started to pick up in the alley. Not completely since the kids weren’t filling the isle, but enough that she felt obligated to take a break from her work. She needed a snack and she figured coming down here would be her best bet. Glancing around she tried to decide what exactly she wanted. But how could she decide when everything smelled and sounded so good.

| for Amy Sardines ♥ BHB ♥ Dallie ♥ Grumpy ♥ MY SUN AND STARS ♥ i love julia This was not the way that Irina had pictured her summer going. She knew that she was going to have to work with her father and she knew that she was going to busy, but she had imagined that she would have SOME time to go out and see a couple people and, like, get a tan. But instead, Irina had quite literally been locked in her house since the moment she had gotten home from Hogwarts. Her father had put her to work and kept her from reaching out to anyone. She had slacked in her combat training when she was gone away at school, but did she think she needed to train all day every day??? No.
It had been two weeks since Irina had seen anyone from school when she was finally allowed out of her house. She bolted to DA, naturally, since that was where most of the people her age hung out during the summer. She had sent a note to one person in particular, one person she wanted to see the most. One person who was probably wondering where she had been. |

Or did he make that up? He was worried he'd built up their relationship in his head when he finally heard back.
And, in typical Connor fashion, he dropped everything to meet her there.
The note still in his hand, he looked up and looked around, she had to be around here somewhere, right?

The note still in his hand, he looked up and looked around, she had to be around here somewhere, right? She was nervous and it was unlike her. But her feelings towards Connor were rather unlike her as well. It was all still new to her - and she didn't even know what "it" was. Her nerves disappeared when she saw him on the street, holding onto the note that she had sent him and she hurried over to him, colliding into him, her arms wrapping around him without second thought. She had missed him. For the first time in.. ever(?) she had really missed somebody.
That realization was weird, though. "Hi," she whispered as she hugged him, hoping that somehow her hug would tell him that she was sorry for what he probably thought was two weeks of her ignoring him. She was going to explain as much as she could, but formulating the words was going to be difficult. |

He wrapped his arms around her and held tightly. "Hey." he said just as quietly. "Everything alright?" he asked.
By which he was trying to convey both that he missed her and he was worried and that he assumed there was a reason she wasn't in contact. There... there had to be, right? Judging by this hug it didn't seem to him like he made it all up.

His question, however, was difficult to answer, so she just kept hugging him in silence for a long moment. He knew she had a hard time communicating in general, so... this wasn't new.
Finally, Irina pulled back, glancing away and tucking a loose strand of hair behind her ear. "I've been... training. My father put me to work as soon as I got home." She knew she would have to work this summer, but she didn't expect to start as soon as she had. "He got me a new combat instructor, too. Says I'm rusty... even though it's his fault for sending me to Hogwarts." He KNEW Hogwarts didn't have combat training, so... yeah, it was his fault.
So, she was... fine? |

He took a step back to look her over. "Are you hurt?" he asked, still looking for any signs of bruises or other injury.
And more importantly... "Are you caught up now?" Meaning, did she have a bit more free time now?

And more importantly... "Are you caught up now?" Meaning, did she have a bit more free time now? Hurt? It took Irina a moment to understand the meaning behind his question. Getting hurt was a part of practicing combat - especially if the trainee was out of practice like she was. But she wondered if he asked.. due to her father. She did have some residual bruises from her practice, but she was rather used to them. "I'm just bruised from practice," she replied as he looked her over, her arms crossing in front of her torso.
His second question would receive a disappointing answer. "I missed a school year's worth of practice. I don't think I'll ever be caught up." Meaning, no, she didn't have more free time, and her summer was going to be very much NOT fun. "But I have today. And... you're here." Convenient. |

He figured that she'd soon get tired of that question, but he, of course, was now going to be perpetually worried.
That was a problem for future Connor though.
He nodded, understandingly. "Maybe next term you can find someone to spar with." he suggested. That way she wouldnt be pushed as hard next summer. Hopefully?
But that last statement made him smile. "You have today. And I'm here." he repeated, dopey smile still on his face.

It had been something she had been considering - though it would still be much easier if she had been going to Durmstrang still. "One of my dormmates, actually - she's learning combat. I've been helping her learn. So we'll be able to practice when we get back to school." Or since their friendship was pretty much just based on combat, her father might even let the girl come over to help her practice.
The Bulgarian girl tried not to smile, but failed. She nodded, lips tight, and then turned toward the rest of the alley, eyes downward so as not to seem TOO excited about spending the afternoon with Connor. "Let's look around then," she said as she began to move towards the vendors. She had no idea what was there, but... it was something to distract her. |

Plus, selfishly, it would mean more time they could hang out next summer, right? That would be nice. Maybe there'd be some people at that French school too? "You hungry?" he asked glancing at her as they walked. "Maybe we could grab some food?" If not, he was fine just browsing stores. He'd be fine doing anything really.

It would get her dad off her back about training and she would actually be able to improve - as long as her sparring partner was any good. Combat also helped her release some pent up tension that she had... always.
Irina glanced at Connor and then looked around, considering the last time she ate. "I could eat," she responded with a small smile and then looked at some of the vendors. "Do you know what is good here?" because she hadn't been to Diagon Alley very many times and she wasn't sure what was good and what wasn't. |

| Open Post *randomly tagged* | Norbert(a) | The Wandmaker (tm) The last time Conley had been in Diagon Alley, he had been searching for the perfect present for his cousin and best friend Winnie. Today, he was running a few errands. He had a few packages to mail to his family and he was planning on stopping by the sweet shop to pick up something for Sachin. He wasn’t sure if his fiancé was going to be home tonight, but he was sure whatever he picked up would keep.
However, as he walked down the street, the hairs on the back of his neck stood up and he became uneasy. It was the same sensation he used to get when while being watched when he was younger and worked out in the field. And it was a senation he had been feeling it more and more often lately. On his way home from the ministry. When he went out to walk Duke. Even sometimes while he was walking around the Ministry. Sachin said he was being paranoid. Conley wasn’t so sure.
He fought the urge to stop walking or to look around him. If was being watched, that was the worst thing he could do. So he continued walking normally, but paying more attention to his peripheral vision. There was a cart nearby and he walked up to it, not caring what it was. He hoped there was something on the care that was shiny that he could use to check his surroundings.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sloane Aubrey Knott Slytherin Fifth Year | Natethegreat and also open to anyone else Food. That is what the gaunt looking Spencer Rogers was looking for on this sunny afternoon. Sure, he could have gone to almost any other place in Diagon Alley but there was just something about food stalls that just called to him. Cheap. That’s what it was. He was broke. Working in a music shop in London, although very cool did not pay well at all and when you lump on top of that paying for an apartment? The numbers didn’t favour him. This Tyneside lad was broke. Or rather, he was dragging his baby toe across the line that was broke.
Strolling up the street, wincing every few steps, hands in his pockets to stop the jangle of knut’s and sickle’s, his eyed the various stands with his one good eye in search of his regular stop off point for a moment become coming to a standstill in front. “stupid eye…” he grumbled under his breath as he almost comically turned his head on a swivel in search of the meaty skewers his stomach longingly desired. Having one closed up, black eye really did make it surprisingly hard for him. |

The sound of a short pump and majestic cane rang out a bit on the rather quiet day, as Roselynn Voss made her daily stroll around the Alley. She was a bit antsy today as the Essex native was waiting to here back about whether or not she had gotten the position she applied for in the Ministry. Hopefully she would get to a Senior Investigator in the IUMO department, however, she wouldn't be surprised if they gave her Junior Investigator to start. That didn't stop the 27 year old's hopes and ambitions though. If there was a goal in sight, Roselynn would almost be sure to see that it was achieved. Ambition ran through the Voss' family blood, as her parent's were both Italian immigrants with a dream to make it big here in England. And they didn't expect any less of their daughter either.

Eventually, Roselynn made her way over to some of the food vendors as her stomach started to growl a bit. Hazel eyes scanned the one cart before falling upon a gentleman who looked particularly beat up. It made her grow rather concerned for the lad in all honesty. "Excuse me sir, I hope I'm not intruding, but do you need some assistance with that shiner you have there?" Her soft and melodic voice showing her worry. But hopefully, she didn't tread a line as it's not something you'd expect to hear from a stranger.

They were the only ones that served kebab’s on skewers. He had no one else to blame though so what did he actually expect? Many a friend had offered to take him to St Mungo’s or to even give him some home brewed elixir’s that would solve both his broken ribs and car crash of a right eye but oh no, Spencer Rogers lives with his mistakes. Spencer Rogers has to suffer in silence because that’s how he was brought up. To grit his teeth and laugh in the face of pain.
At least it couldn’t get any worse for him. But…
Wincing slightly now, he turned the sound of a woman’s voice and she was asking him how he had got his black eye? What was it with people these days? You’d swear they were brought up to be so rude. Looking at her with his one good eye now, he took in the hazel eyes and soft voice for a moment, finally deciding to not chew her out. Not because he cared if her feeling got hurt but because it was just too draining. “I fell. Landed on my eye. How do you usually get black eyes?” he replied, his voice neutral now as he looked back, his brown eyes resting on the cane for a brief moment before moving back to her. |

One hand resting upon the top of the silver lion's head on the cane, the other one reached to her hip. Lace gloves encasing both, Roselynn simply nodded at the fellow's response. Certainly if some random person had come up to her asking about a black eye, she would be somewhat taken aback too. However, she still noted the man's neutral tone; so it certainly could have been a lot worse. At least he didn't come at her neck for asking or anything. "Well a fight perhaps, or some other form of accident." Her one hand now reaching out towards him. "My name is Roselynn, Roselynn Voss. I certainly meant no offense upon asking. I was only going to ask if you needed some assistance with that." Roselynn paused before continuing "My mother was a nurse, so she taught me a few tricks or too that might help, so I thought I'd offer as it seems to be causing some pain." A smile washed over her face to hopefully cut the odd tension in the air as well. She was no stranger when it came to weird situations like this, and how to go about diffusing them. Also, Roselynn knew one of the things that helped her get through bad days was just simply looking at others smile.

Falling and landing on his eye wasn’t exactly a masterpiece of a lie but it was the first thing that popped into his head. He couldn’t really blame anyone else but himself if no one believed it so he wasn’t shocked to see that she jumped to the right conclusion, even if he’d never admit it. “Well I tripped. Freak accident really. You should have seen it” What was he told one time? Just steer into the crash, it’ll make it easier? “Tripped down the stairs, broke a few ribs and boop. Hit my eye on a protruding rock”. He’d nailed it. She wouldn’t suspect a thing.
Eying her hand for a second, he simply gave her a small nod before replying “Spencer. Spencer Rogers” both of his hands still in his pockets. No because he was trying to intentionally be rude, it just hurt him to raise his hands and he didn’t fancy screaming out in pain in the middle of Diagon Alley. Scaring people with loud screams of pain. Not the best for business. “I’m all good thanks. I’ll be healed in no time. These are just scratches” They were not. “I’ve had worse” he tacked on at the end. Just to make sure that she got the idea. He didn’t need help. He didn’t want help. He wouldn’t accept help. Was it obvious that he was fed up of everyone babying him? They didn’t understand that Rogers don’t ask for help. It only makes things worse.
Trying his best not to look bored, he changed his expression to that of someone who was actually interested for a moment. See, what a gent! Listening to family histories like he was some kind of history student or something. “Well, that must have come in handy growing up. Kids get into also sorts of accidents, don’t they” his answer more of a statement than a question now. Kids got into accidents. Everyone knew that. Taking a deep breath, the blonde-haired tween shifted his weight ever so slightly to one side, tilting his head as he did so that he could actually see her better. If we going to act as though this conversation was riveting, he’d have to play the part well, even if it did hurt his aching ribs. |

If we going to act as though this conversation was riveting, he’d have to play the part well, even if it did hurt his aching ribs. When she noticed just the head nod followed by his name, that was basically a silent que to Roselynn to put her hand down. So she did and placed it back onto her other one, and listened as Spencer had explained his story of how he fell. Quite the accident indeed. And on top of the bruised eye, he broke a few ribs. Roselynn had to give it to the kid, he was a true warrior for being able to walk around with even just one or two of them broken. On the bright side though, at least nothing else got broken; but she still had to take pity for him.
Quite shocked that he declined the offer, Roselynn had to hold back a concerned look. This kid really is tough. She thought to herself. Looking him up and down, Roselynn stated "Yes, it really did come in handy growing up. Whenever I did manage to go a bit too far with whatever, my mother was always there to fix me up in a heart beat." She couldn't help but reminisce about her now late mom, and the days when she was younger. If only I could turn back time to when I was Spencer's age, and live life precariously again. The thought raced across the 27 year old's mind as she couldn't help but realize that life was soaring past at such a fast speed. It was all so marvelous, but dreary at the same time in this quizzical blend of awesomeness and confusion. "Well, I can't forcibly heal you, however I would strongly recommend you see someone. As it does sound like you took quite the fall." Before she forgot, she added "Do you happen to attend Hogwarts by any chance?" Roselynn was curious, because her ward, Chanel, was to start attendance next year and she wanted to try and find someone to make sure she'd be alright there. There was no doubt she'd be fine, however Roselynn was very much a motherly figure towards the girl. And she'd much rather be safe than sorry.

He knew all too well how many ‘accidents’ one could get into growing up. A medic really would have come in handy but then again, it also may not have made a difference. Maybe less scars. Subconsciously, his hand went to his ribs as he listened to the women in front of him now. “Well I’m glad you were lucky enough to have that” his reply simple, yet telling. He was not as lucky as her. “I don’t need any help” he continued, pausing only to add “But thanks anyway” simply not to sound as rude as he most likely already did. And then he snorted, his smile a little too wide now. Did he really look that young? That innocent? “No. Not at all. I finished a year ago” He supposed that it hadn’t been that long since he’d finished. “Do I really look so young?” finally deciding to ask the question in the end, his head tilted to one side rather amused. With his eye too, he’d assumed he would have looked older. It really did say something that this woman, Roselynn, had somehow managed to distract him with her silly questions from is second love. Food.
With his stomach grumbling, he turned again in search of the food stall his stomach longed for quickly, turning back after he still couldn’t find it. “Don’t s’pose you know where the food stand that sells kebabs are, do ya?” |

With his stomach grumbling, he turned again in search of the food stall his stomach longed for quickly, turning back after he still couldn’t find it. “Don’t s’pose you know where the food stand that sells kebabs are, do ya?” Roselynn beamed a smile to the boy, and couldn't help but let out a little bit of a chuckle when he posed the question if he looked so young. "In my eyes, you looked like you could've been just finishing up your sixth year." Repositioning the cane in between her arm and her body, the woman continued "But, then again, I've always been terrible with guessing people's ages." Which was awfully true. Age was always something that Roselynn could never even come close to guessing right. It probably stemmed from the fact that she was so used to looking younger growing up, but now was a different story. Now she started to look her age, if not, a bit older even. However, she tried to hide that as best she could. Which reminded her; she made a mental note to stop at the Beauty Store later that day. She had a few errands she would need to run there. "Ahh, yes. The kebabs." Her hands now folding together in front of her body. "I'd just point you in that direction, but, I'm guessing...?" After saying that, she gestured to her eye, to non verbally ask if he'd be able to see where she was pointing. Oh dear That might have come across rude as well. That was another curse of hers; Roselynn would typically say what she was on her mind without thinking about it. So to help clarify, she added "I didn't mean to sort of rub salt in the wound with that by the way. I can lead you there instead, unless you'd rather me just point it out to you."

Well he wasn’t finishing up his sixth-year lady, he was a fully qualified, albeit young looking apparently, wizard so there. “Well, I guess wisdom doesn’t always come with age, huh?” A small grin on his lips now. Sometimes, he just couldn’t help himself. In his head, he knew what he was saying was rude but well, it just needed to be said. Either he said it or it would burst out of him and the few people closest to him knew this all too well. Now that he thought about it, that may have been one of the reasons why he ended up with the black eye and a few broken ribs to boot but he didn’t dwell on this. That was a problem for future Spencer. Now Spencer just wanted a kebab.
He didn’t take her words seriously. As snippy as Spencer Rogers is, he can generally tell when people are trying to actually insult him. Sure, he sometimes he takes offence when he shouldn’t but that’s what made it interesting. “It’s cool” was all he said in reply to her apology now, his pale face a picture of ease. “I mean, you don’t have to go out of your way to show me. "I’m sure I’ll be able to get this if you point me towards it” assuming he could see it with his good eye obviously. After all, it couldn't be too far away. |

| for Miss K8 <3 Kimothée Chalamet • The UWU Agenda • Once Baby, Now Trouble • All Growed Up Summmmmmmer time! It was Skeet's absolute favourite time of the year, tied with Christmas. But it wasn't Christmas. It was SUMMER, but things were kinda different. He knew for a fact that his parents were being extra strict with him now because he was about to enter fifth year. It would be HOOT year for him because of OWLs aka those gross exams the other older students spent months studying for—who does that?!—and his mum and dad clearly think he won't be taking them seriously.
Of course, he was taking them sErIoUsLy! His 'rents cut him deep sometimes, sheesh!
Naturally, Skeet wanted every reason to leave the house and avoid ~things~ so he was here in Diagon Alley again today. Away from his parents, away from their constant reminder to take everything seriously because his future depended on it, away from SawYEET and his weirdness, away from everything in general. The Gryffindor was good at avoiding things, as one might notice.
Skeet decided to deviate from his usual high street places, and so the street vendor stalls caught his eye immediately. He peered at the knick-knacks available for purchase, but more importantly at the FOOD in display. Eyeing the popcorn stall specifically, the incoming fifth year contemplated whether he wanted to splurge on a couple of those crazy flavours or save his coins for something in one of the legit shops. Skeet Octavian Sayse was actually thinking twice before doing something. Weirder things have happened among these parts!

Summer was very boring, wasn't it, for a fifteen year old with no REAL friends near her home. This was why she spent so much bloody time in Diagon Alley. It was like she was here almost every day! Her mother was getting reaaaaaal tired of it and had told her she could only come out once or twice a week from here on out.
It was a PITY.
But Aboli was determined to make the most of her day here. She wondered who she could run into or who she could possibly make friends or enemies with. Hmmm. It was only once she had sight of one of the stalls came across her vision that she noticed a very familiar face - she had eaten ice cream with him not so long ago! Skeet! The boy with the weird name the weird......well, EVERYTHING. She smirked as she did her best to creep up on him...and... TAP
TAP
She TAPPED his shoulder twice but quickly scooted away-- maybe he would notice her, maybe not, but she had practically trampled a woman's foot as she dodged away.

HEHEHEHEHEHEHEHHEHEHEHEHEHEH HmMmmmmMMMmmM....
Skeet clicked his tongue as he contemplated on his options, and then rubbed his forehead as he mentally berated himself for even thinking. His brain could only handle so much processing and it wasn't used to weighing pros and cons. His train of thought, which resembled more like a rollercoaster actually, was halted when he felt a tap on his shoulder. Two taps, actually. One tap would've felt accidental but two of them basically called for his attention, so he turned to the side to see who it was...
...Only to be greeted by a death glare and an earful from a woman. Confused and insulted, Skeet gave the lady a sassy 'eXcUsE mE' look before turning away and unintentionally stepping on Aboli's toes as a result. "OOF!" The Gryffindor yelped and immediately removed his foot from the girl's. And GRINNED. "Eeeeey, mami!"
No, he totally didn't just step on her foot and forgot about it. Nope.
