Security Offices

http://i49.tinypic.com/6ifj3n.jpg

From one of the doors in the main hall, you can reach the Gringotts Security offices.A long and bare marble corridor, looking much the same as several other corridors in Gringotts, leads to several small offices and to a larger room at the end of the corridor. Generally if you find yourself here, it will be under escort. The Gringotts Security Force is made up of Goblins and Wizards alike. In the main room, there is a wooden bench along one wall where anyone may wait and old fashioned, temporary jail cells along another.

There are also several desks and aside from the cells, the holding room is actually a fairly cheerful place. Security implements of all kinds fill extensive racks and there are several portraits which link from here to other important places in the wizarding world, including the Department of Magical Law Enforcement at the Ministry of Magic.

This area of the Bank is not for sightseeing, not unless you feel like volunteering for probity probe testing.

OOC: While you are allowed to roleplay here, please be sure your character has official business and has entered the bank through the entrance way and main hall. It is best not to post here without your character being invited to do so.

Giggling at James's question and his excitement about the goblin's ears, he looked at him after handing over the form back to the Goblin, "Thankyou!" Turned his attention to him now, "It's sort of security measures Jay, like daddy do in his office." he explained him shortly since he was so tiny and wouldnt understand detailed informations. But James was one curious lil boy who always trying to pretend like an adult, grown up boy. Cutie!

Taking Becca's wand from her bag with a nod, he handed over their wands to the goblins, "Yeah, we need two keys actually" he told, excited about to open a vault for them.

ooc: please post in the given thread if you want two keys for the vault

James' face fell into a cute pout as the strange-looking man swatted at his fingers. Pulling his hand back with a sniffle, he looked at daddy and put his arms around mummy's neck.

Holding James closer to her in a sort of protective way as the Goblin gave a sinister grin, Becca nodded. "Okay." she looked at Brian. Walking slowly towards the security office, Becca kept her arm around James tightly and her other hand in Brian's. "How's this going to work?" she asked Brian softly as they walked into the office.

Awe. Obviously he was mistaken. Goblins never changed. Taking a quick look at the Goblin Brian shifted his free hand to rub on James's back solacingly. He couldnt stand him crying or being sad. Taking his 11 month old son in his arm now, he nodded his head, "Okay, let's go" he said and entered into the security office. Security measures was not new to him at all. He had been in this business for so long. "Everything will be good Becs, no worries." he took her hand in his and slightly squeezed with a warm smile.

He couldn't believe his luck. He was going to get to probe a witch, a wizard, and a small sticky one. He waddled after them, passing the lunch room made his stomach growl however.

He placed his hand on the security door and it melted away and he ushered them in. No one else was inside but he could still smell the perfume from Kayla. It gave him a small smile. That girl would make a great goblin if she were smaller. He waddled over to his desk and grabbed the ledger and the goblin probe. He motioned for all of them to take a seat. "Fill this out and I will probe the little on first." he didn't want to pick up the baby in case they thought he was going to eat it or something. Wizards had crazy ideas like that.

Hugging daddy tightly, James looked at daddy's ears. Whose ears were 'normal'? The strange-looking man's ears, or mummy, daddy's and his own ears?

Nodding, she squeezed his hand back and sat down as the goblin offered them a seat. Taking the form, she shifted to get comfortable and filled it out fully and quickly. Handing back the form, she looked at James "Just sit still Jay." she stroked his hair gently "Mummy and daddy are right here." she didn't want him to get scared of this probe thing. Not even the tiniest bit.

He stared at the family as they talked to each other. He was glad goblins families weren't like that. It was enough to put him off his lunch. Which he could smell coming from his desk.

He pulled out the probe. Which looked like a mechanical spider. With his finger he depressed a button under its belly and the thing sprang to life. Sturnik pointed to the boy and the probe scuttled across the desk and leapt at the boy attaching itself to the boy's clothes. It climbed up his back to the top of his head where it swung down to shine a light into the boy's eyes. After it was done it stick a leg into the boy's ear before sticking another one up its nose.

Having down that it crawled back down the boy's back toward the boy's bottom. A quick mechanical whiff sent the spider scuttling up the other way however. The spider poked and prodded the boy none too gently for a few more minutes before hopping off and running back over to the goblin.

Sturnik picked up the spider and brought it up to his ear. She spider leaned in and whispered a few words with the goblin. He nodded and set the spider down and pointed to the witch.

What the hell was that? Brian couldnt breath properly, anger started bubbling in the pit of his stomach. A metal spider thing probe for a baby? How CRUEL!

It's pathetic the goblins didnt know a better method for probing. He never ever had seen or heard about this thing. Absolutlely pathetic. He cursed himself for letting James go through this unwanted thing just for a second key of their new vault. He was a baby, innocent.

Brian stood up, his face was red, burning. "Look. We dont want a second key, okay? " he said firmly to the Goblin. Shaking slightly he picked up James in his arms who was already started crying because of the horror he had gone through and the pain on his back. Oh my poor baby, I'm sorry Jay. "Lets go Becca. This's not right." he shook his head and urged her to get up from the seat who was horror struck obviously not wanting to come back.

Watching the strange-looking man now, James grinned and then squealed as the spider like probe leapt at him and attatched to his clothes. Screaming with terror as it climbed up his back and swung down to shine the light, he waved his arms around, trying to get it away. Screaming louder and crying as the leg went into his ear and another up his nose, he kicked out, squirming and trying to get away from it.

Feeling it move down his back, he squirmed and cried loudly, wanting it away from him. Squirming and smacking at the spider as it poked him, he sobbed uncontrollably. Turning to daddy and burying his face into his clothes once the spider had gone, James whimpered, curled up and kept crying, feeling so threatened in this unexpected situation.

Becca watched with her mouth open in horror and stared, frozen in place as James screamed and squirmed and tried to get away from the spider. Shaking and putting her hand over her mouth as she tried to take in what had just happened, she didn't move to wipe the tears that appeared in her eyes so quickly. James' screams were heartbreaking.

Still staring at the spot James had been sat in horror, Becca only moved once she heard Brian say her name "Yeah.." she stood up quickly, staring at the spider like probe that had been pointed in her direction nervously. We will NEVER let James go through that. Ever. Again. "We're so sorry Jay..I'm so sorry" she ran a hand over his back gently, still trying to understand what had just happened and why she'd frozen.

He wish he could able to seal this system and office for once and all.

Sturnik looked at the wizard. The probe wasn't anything worse than what the wizards had. It was just a little more invasive. Certainly nothing to cry over, he thought. He hopped off the chair he had been sitting on. He reached the probed and depressed the button under its belly and it curled up and grew still on the desk. "You wizards are all the same." the goblin said looking at the wizard as he tried to stare down Sturnik."Goblins aren't house elves we don't cater to you." he explained calmly. It was no skin off the tip of his nose if they got a second key. They didn't understand the delicate nature of the key system at Gringotts and how hard it was to have a second key smelted. He shook his head and handed the witch the contract. "Destroy this with yer wand." he instructed her.

Becca turned to the Goblin as he spoke to them. "Maybe you don't cater to us, but you've just invaded my eleven month old baby's personal space without explaining to him what would happen!" Becca looked down at him. "You're of this world, you should understand that he doesn't deserve that." Becca shook her head and took the contract. Pulling out and tapping her wand on the contract and watching it burn in front of their eyes, she glanced at Brian "We'll go now. One of us will be back later to open an account and get one key for it." she cleared her throat, turning and walking off with Brian and James silently, feeling bad for their little one.

Brazil was heading toward the loo when the door the security off banged open and a couple hurried out of the office with a crying baby in tow. Brazil hurried over to the woman. "Excuse me ma'am is everything alright?" she asked hoping the goblins didn't hear her.

Looking at the woman who addressed her, Becca shook her head "No, not really. The goblins here are merciless and seem to have no respect for personal space. Or the mindset of an eleven month old who would have reacted better, had the process been explained to him." Her eyes turned back to James who was still crying and sobbing against Brian's shoulder.

As they were coming out of the office, not an office, but a torture chamber honestly, Brian saw a woman approached them and asking if everything was okay. Stroking James's back soothingly he looked at her, "Yeah" he agreed with Becca, "And he's the head of security. Horrible!" he shook his head still not coming out of that shocking probe thing.

She nodded understanding what the woman was saying but not understanding what she was talking about. "Well what happened?" she asked trying to get to the bottom of the problem. Not that goblins cared about customer service. But Brazil hated to see people unhappy. She pulled a chocolate frog out of her robes. "Its ok little guy," she cooed to the baby handing the frog to him.

Ahh, Sturnik. He was a rather unhappy little goblin. She remembered getting probed by him. She had to go home and jump into the tub and soak herself for two days after that experience. But she heard that Kayla had a harder time of it because she had been in Azkaban. There wasn't anything she could do about Sturnik. She wanted to keep her job and she even liked it.

Moving a hand to Brian's arm and running her hand over there gently, she nodded, understanding how upset he was because this wasn't what they expected, at all. Looking back at the woman, Becca cleared her throat. "He told us to sit down, fill out a form and then pulled out the probe which just.." she trailed off, her voice breaking as she got upset again. It hurt her to hear James' screams. Turning to Brian and resting her head against his shoulder in silence, she closed her eyes.

James was still crying, he didn't know what had happened, but he knew he didn't like it. Hugging daddy tightly and starting to calm down with daddy's soothing voice going through his mind, he shifted his head so he was looking at daddy's neck. Showing up his red, tear streaked face, he moved his fingers randomly over daddy's neck. Seeing a woman offer a chocolate frog to him, James shifted slightly and looked at daddy hesitantly before taking the frog and looking at it.

Brazil nodded. "Ahh I see," and she really did. She could see how something like that would traumatize a little baby. "Yes goblin probes aren't like our probes," she said gently. You just waved wizard ones over someone's body and that was it. Not with goblins. "Well why don't we drop the little guy off in the playroom and I can help you guys. There are other children he can play with." she suggested smiling at the boy as he took the chocolate frog from her and waited for his dad to give him the go ahead to eat it.

Brian put his free arm around Becca as she leant her head on his shoulder. Poor Becca. She didnt have to see all these unpleasant thing. "And he fixed this metal spider thing on my boy's body and probed in a rude way without informing us about how it was functioning. It was new and cruel." he shook his head again, and taking one of James's hand to kiss on it gently.

The woman seemed nice, but..wait. "Hold on baby.." he took the chocolate frog from his hand and handed it over Becca. "Check this out Becs. I dont want to take risk again!" he nodded at her. They didn't know her. Was she the employee of the bank or just a customer like them? What if it was someother probe material? OH..God, no way!! He couldn't believe anyone after that incident, not from this office.

Brushing off James's tears gently he Kissed on his cheek softly, "How about we go for a drive? You want to drive daddy's red car or Mummy's Yellow one sweetheart?" he smiled warmly at him.

Brian sighed. "Yes, in my few years of security head experience in the Ministry I've never seen this kind of probe, especially for a baby." his eyes full of concern, he felt bad for James who got the worst treatement for the cost of second key. "NO, he's not in a condition to stay away from us. If it is okay we'll go or I can come again, alone to get my vault key." he looked at Becca to know what she was thinking.

"Yeah, we found that out the hard way." Becca replied to the woman, hugging Brian tightly while she tried to get the images from her mind. Shuddering unhappily as Brian explained, Becca opened her eyes to look at James. As Brian gave her the chocolate frog, Becca smiled at the woman and took out her wand to check for any spell, other than the obvious spell to make it jump, that was cast on the frog.

Turning it between her fingers, she looked at it carefully and nodded as she gave it back to James "It's fine love." she told Brian, smiling a little more calmly. Looking at James, Becca shook her head at the offer of the playroom. They weren't letting James out of their sight. No way. She looked at Brian with her eyes telling her thoughts clearly. We're not putting James through anything like this ever again. We'll come back.

James looked at the chocolate frog as daddy took it from him and watched mummy with wide eyes as she looked at it. "Yewwow daddy. I not drived de yewwow car." he nodded. When he got the frog back, James held onto it and looked at daddy again before taking a small nibble. This wouldn't jump up and scare him, right?

Brazil was actually offended that they would think she would give a baby some poisoned chocolate. And she pulled a face at the couple. She could understand them being upset but she was trying to help. "I must say that I am quite offended that you would have to check over a piece of chocolate offered by someone trying to help you." she told him. She had never hurt a pixie before in her life. And here this man thought she was trying to kill his baby. "I'm not here to poison you're child for Merlin's sake," she told him. But she was really regretting having even stopped to help.

She bristled at the behavior of this couple. Sure goblins were horrid creature and they had nothing but contempt for humans and utter hatred for wizards but she was a fellow witch and she saw them in distress and now they were treating her like an enemy or something. Well she had better things to be getting on with. Her days wee already horrid enough be a grunt in a goblin office. She didn't have to stand to be treated like scum by her fellow wizards. "Well excuse me for stopping to see if there was something that I could do to help." She told both of them. "You will find the exit to the right down the stairs." she pointed the exit out to them. If they wanted to moan and complain and not get any help that was them, but she wasn't going to stand there and be treated like that. She had far better things to do than that.

Gideon had to fight back a snort at her. After all that would have been quite rude, but of course, weren't they supposed to be expecting like everyone? Because this was a Wizarding Bank and all, and who didn't need money? Or a safe place to keep it? "So will you show us to our placements?" Because they probably didn't trust humans down in the vaults... Tellers maybe.

Looking them up and down, she nodded. "Yesss... to the security offices to get you guys checkedddd in..." With that, she turned and led through one of the doors that they probably never noticed before.

At least in the security offices it could be determined if they were legit or not.

Expecting? Heh. That made Adam feel important. He was EXPECTED at, like, the most safest and famousest bank. Awesome.

He nodded at the man's question, agreeing with it fully, but there was no point in repeating.

Right. With a side glance to the older man, Adam shrugged and followed the goblin through the doors. As he walked, he tried to be quite aware of his surroundings, looking all around him. And, with his hands in his pockets, he tapped his thumbs against his leg.

"Thank you," he smiled at the goblin. Manners.

Tumplin was having a bad day. The Goblin Mint was down, a dragon was loose, the board wanted to expand the vaults and that was never a good thing. She hated having to deal with the American goblins over the mint and it had put her in a foul mood. She was expecting some some new wizards and she tried to hitch up a smile but it wasn't working.

She pushed open the door to the security offices and walked in. She spotted a nervous young man and assumed this was one of the new hires. "Adam Emmerson," she said not waiting for an answer. She stuck out her hand, "Tumplin Bank Manager." she gave him a firm human hand shake. "I hope you are ready to work." she told him sternly.

It didn't take long before the banking manager was THERE, in which Harpy hoped she did well in bringing the two gentlemen down here. Nodding respectively at her boss, because it was TUMPLIN and not Snazit, who simply liked to THINK he was boss stupid old goblin he was. "You're welcome, Tumplin." And with that, she disappeared back up to the entrance area to greet any other lost souls.

In the meantime, Gideon just watched and followed. Adam, eh? So he wasn't the only new hire? Well this fellow seemed alright enough . . . probably around his nieces' age, which means, he wondered vaguely if he knew them. Nonetheless, now was not the time for idle chatter; there would be more time on that later.

"Gideon MacNeil," he said to the Bank Manager. Female... hmm... odd. Holding his hand out to the boss, he nodded. "Why yes, that's why I applied here. To work." Duh. He hoped she didn't mind sarcasm, because if she did, well she was just gonna have to get used to it. Either that or he was going to have to, Merlin forgive him, censor himself!

Adam Emmerson. That was him. "Yes." He took the goblin's hand, kinda awkward with the height difference, but he supposed he'd get used to it, and gave it a good, formal, shake.

"Yes." Adam answered again, accompanied with a nod. He hoped he was ready, at least.

And, apparently the older man was new, too. Gideon.

Hehe. Gideon had a sense of humor, from what Adam took of it. He liked him. Yup.
