In the end north side of the street of Diagon Alley, sandwiched between Quality Quidditch Supplies and an intersecting alley that leads to Knockturn Alley, sits a small building made of light grey stones. A peal of small bells made of gold tinkle together in a rather quiet unison as the glass door of the shop opens and reveals the stationary supplies store, which is brightly lit thanks to the front glass window that allows sunlight to filter inside the shop. The smell of the store is a surprisingly pleasant combination of wood, old parchment, ink and, shockingly enough, scented candles.
Every single inch of the store seems to be crammed with shelves full of the artifacts sold at the shop, and though it might look and sound messy, the place is surprisingly organized, and whatever item that costumers might be looking for, can undoubtedly be found easily; rolls of parchment, stationery sets, quills made of the most unthinkable and exotic feathers, and every imaginable sort of decorative paper -– you think of it, and this store has it. Inks are the place's specialty, and as such, here you'll find ink of every colour and style that you could possibly imagine.
Behind the tall and smooth wooden counter, the shopkeeper can normally be found. With a frown on his forehead, the shopkeeper is usually busy sorting through piles of parchment, which would be stock orders, bills, magazines, or just plain letters that have been addressed to him. This is the place where you come if you are in need of help, or to pay for the items you wish to acquire at Scribbulus Writing Implements.

Freyr had always loved stationary in the Muggle town where one of his best friends lived. But they used "pencils" and "erasers" instead of quills, yet he loved them. Now entering to Scribbulus Writing Implements, he was so excited. He wanted to buy a pair from everything but to prevent this catastrophe and to visit the Florean Fortescue's once again before leaving, he had made a list. 1 Phoenix Tail Feather Quill, 1 Auto-Answer Quill, 1 Self-Inking Quill, 1 Spell-Checking Quill, 1 Self-Spelling Quill, 1 Quick-Quotes Quill, 10 dozens white parchment, 1 platinum inkwell, 4 inkwells of Self-Correcting Ink, 10 inkwells of black ink, 1 Muggle notebook, 1 black pen, some red sealing wax and finally his favourite one, a custom made sealing stamp with his name in runes. Thinking how he would carry all these, he approached to counter.

It had been a few months since Billie had been in Diagon Alley, and she was suddenly regretting the choice to wait so long to go. Now that Summer had started the streets were crowded and the queues were all much longer than they would have been if she had only thought to go before the end of the school term.
However, as much as she would like to wait it out until the new semester started in September there was no way that she could. Her black ink was completely finished, there was barely any blue left and her red ink was almost non-existant. All of which was an issue when you worked with accounts on a daily basis.
Pulling open the door to Scribbulus, the Welsh-woman moved into the building and picked up a basket. Not that Billie expected to over-buy while she was here, but she didn't want to spill ink on her dress by mistake either. She'd done that before too many times to try not to prevent it from happening again.
Side-stepping kids who seemed about the same age as her grandchildren who were excitedly pulling their siblings and parents through the building, Wilhelmina muttered 'excuse me' and 'sorry', 'can I just...' and 'yeah, get past' as she squeezed and moved her way slowly, steadily over to the inks.

Naturally, if one were going to teach at Hogwarts, one must need more writing supplies. With a sigh, William began gathering ink wells, adding them to the collection of anti-cheating quills and scrolls of parchment in his arms. Of course, he could just order these things, but he was already here and was out of parchment himself, so how was he going to place a bloody order by owl post without any parchment?!
He grunted as someone pushed past him, and nearly dropped a pot of ink in the moment. Willy eyed the woman, but didn't say anything to her, as his arms were VERY full of ink and he REALLY didn't want to drop any. It was taking all of his concentration just to awkwardly contain the items already in his arms from the jostling of the crowd.
Next time he was just going to do without. He could write a message on a rock and mail it in. Blasted back to school shoppers!

Juliette felt strange being here. She'd avoided it last summer because of how bad everything was and that had obviously been the reason so many of her friends hadn't kept in contact. Because she didn't come to Diagon Alley. Things were better now! She had sat her final exam at the Ministry and she was good. Really good, even.
And as Connor had suggested, she was getting ready to write a BUNCH of short stories and send them into magazines in the hopes of being published.
Which obviously meant that she deserved new writing things. Right? And a trip to London was perfect for that! And she could drop in on a couple of familiar faces and pick up some bits for her trip to see CKP soon. (Which she was very excited about, if you were unaware)

NOW. Which shelf to start at?!
She was spending more and more time in the wizarding world, it was still weird even though she grew up coming to this alley with her parents so many times, but once she moved into the muggle schools she avoided it even when her twin wanted her to come. Now that she had decided that maybe she could give it a chance she was back and trying to make the best of it.
After the ministry meeting Alana headed to run some errands and the first stop was Scribbulus. She remembered her step dad buying the best supplies here and the different color changing ink was one of her favorites, she hoped they would have it.
Looking around she was starting to get overwhelmed by everything. Her muggle pens were never this confusing and even her mother's office wasn't. The nineteen year old needed some help and she soon found a girl near her, "Excuse me.. Could you help me for a moment?"

The problem with Juliette shopping for notebooks and stationery was that she ended up buying a lot more than she needed. And we probably shouldn't acknowledge the entire cupboard of writing materials in her bedroom, and the other in the office at home. She had a lot and didn't need more, but she WANTED more. More was appropriate. She was a writer. If she ran out of materials in the middle of a good idea then the world would end.
Or something to similar disastrous effect. It would be an incredibly bad thing.
She was perusing when someone spoke nearby and JJ turned to look with a smile. Her usual smile. Her returned smile. A good smile! "Of course!" She practically knew where all the things were. "What can I help you with?"
Although Gabrielle wasn't exactly fond of being alone - she much prefered to be in the company of friends or family - there were times when she had to deal with it. Although she'd been shopping with Willa, her sister had bumped into Józef Kowalski, and whilst the soon-to-be fifth year didn't have anything against the boy, she had felt severely unwelcome during that conversation.
With time to kill before meeting their parents, Gabrielle had rolled her eyes and headed into Scribbulus. She needed some new inks and parchment, anyway.

The girl smiled and said yes, which meant that Alana wasn't fully crazy to walk in here and ask for help. She remembered when she was just at school age and would come in with her sister, she always wondered if people could automatically know she was different or if there was an invisible sign on her that said squib, but at 19 she was now over that and trying to open up more to this side of her upbringing.
"Could you help me find the ink that changes colors, I mean I haven't been in here in ages and I can't remember where to find it." Nor could she remember if you had to use a wand to get it to work. Maybe she should have brought Elisa or her mother with her or even just asked them, but she was trying to get things on her own. If she was going to try for a job at the ministry and start a new chapter of her life, she had to figure these things out.
"I feel so dumb needing help with ink, but there are so many, it gets a little overwhelming."

As she felt her shoulder connect with someone else, she winced and turned around as quick as she could, basket held high against her stomach so that it she couldn't inflict pain on anyone else's knees or shins with a stray movement.
"I am so sorry!" The woman said, before looking at his heeaving arms. "Do you need a hand?" Looking over his shoulder at the way back to the door, she frowned at the thought of going all the way back there for a second basket, only to come back to the inks. Which she was now standing in front of.
"It's too busy to go back for a second basket... but why not use one half of mine so that you have a spare hand..." She looked back at his ink-filled arms again and gave him a sweet smile. "And we can get a basket as soon as we both have the inks we need."
Nodding, she held the basket out in her right hand. "I'm Billie." Y'know. In case he didn't want to talk to a stranger. He had her name, so she was no longer a stranger. Someone new, sure, but not a stranger. With her left hand, she stretched to pick up a bottle of red ink first.

Having been knocked over by worse looking things than this lady, William responded to the lady's apology as a little less grumpy than he normally would. Plus, she actually had a useful idea to help him. Finally, someone useful in this establishment.
"Thanks," he replied quietly, more or less dropping half of his armful into her basket without further ado. It was a clumsy move, but he was relieved to have full movement of his arms back. He was realizing now what an idiot he'd been not to pick up a basket at the door. Wait, did she say her name was Billie? William eyed her for that, ever suspicious of being pranked by strangers. His name was also Billy, although he never ever went by that variation. "I'm William." So, hello, stranger, and thanks for your help. "Who are you shopping for?" he added, curious to see what she was here for with that red ink; probably her kids, no doubt.

Smiling that big smile of hers, Billie grinned at the man. "No problem." Though, even as she said it her once empty and light basket, dipped under the weight and she had to shuffle it within her grasp so that it wouldn't dig into her forearm.
"It is lovely to meet you, William." The Welshwoman said, letting the ink slip from her hand and into the basket. She started to turn back towards the shelves but when he asked her a question the tall woman give him her attention instead. It wasn't polite to ignore someone after all.
"Just myself, unfortunately. I stupidly forgot that the kids would be home and it would be heaving." She sent him a smaller, self-depreciating smile. "I should have come in a few weeks ago and saved myself." Buuuut she hadn't thought of it, and since Blaise had been too old for too many years too count - and she still had a few years before Kailee and her young William were old enough for it.

"You?" That was polite, right?
Man, that smile was endearing. William tried to turn away from it and focus on his supplies. He knew if he got caught up in looking at women, who probably were not interested in looking at him, he'd get distracted and start blushing and dropping things, and then he'd never get out of Diagon Alley during back-to-school season in one piece.
So, he just nodded to her for now, though of course he couldn't ignore her question. "I should have ordered by owl." Yes, he was rusty at this school thing, and he did notice how he'd commandeered her basket with all his supplies. Ooops? "I have to--- er, teach at Hogwarts." Why did that sentence sound so weird? He wasn't being forced into this. He was willingly going back. Or so he kept telling himself. "Kids need parchment, I need ink for marking." Professor stuff. And one could never be prepared enough for absentminded students, especially the ones that were anything like him, who consistently forgot their supplies for class.
With that thought, he contemplated buying a few extra pairs of dragonhide gloves while he was out and about. Merlin knew they WOULD need those.

Billie probably shouldn't have laughed, but it was a giggle of a laugh that escaped as the really tall man said he should have used a post order. "It would have been better planning for both of us... but then we wouldn't have been able to pick up any random item as we passed it orrr get ice cream in the sun afterwards to say well done." She shot a smile in his direction again before she searched down the shelves for the next item she needed.
Reaching for the next colour of ink that she needed, Billie looked up over her shoulder at him. "Teaching at Hogwarts? Woah." Three bottles of blue ink in hand, she straightened up before dropping them into the basket and smiled again. "Very impressive. It was hard enough home-schooling my only son when all he wanted to do was play Quidditch." At least Blaise had gone on to play Quidditch, but he had been a terror every single day in terms of school work. She had nothing but respect for teachers.

Eh, yeah, ice cream. Ice cream in the sun did sound nice, now that she said that. "Or maybe a butterbeer." William smiled a tiny tiny bit in return to Billie's. She was a happy camper, wasn't she? He followed her down the next aisle, not because he was FOLLOWING following her, but because she had all his stuff in her basket.
"I uh, I can take the basket, if you want..." he offered, since he had shoved so much in already and he didn't seem keen to buy more. "Yeah." Yeah, Hogwarts. Who in their right mind would want to work there, right? Impressive wasn't the word he would use, so. "Homeschooling? In all the subjects?" Her son was probably a top athlete then, and what was she? A genius? William couldn't imagine teaching more than one subject. He was rubbish at the rest of them anyway.

After skipping the bookstore (Mrs. English wanted to spend some time there and wanted to see how much the rest of the shopping was going to cost her), and after a firm 'No!' from the same woman ('I'm not going to buy you an invisibility cloak! God knows what you'll be doing with it!') to the pleas of entering the Wiseacre's, their next stop was Scribbulus.
Because aparently, wizards were unaware of technology, and still used quills.
"Are you sure being a wizard is actually better?" asked Brendan in a sinister tone in Gaelic as he examined the products inside, "they still don't know what a pen is." Okay, none of the pens were 'self-spelling' or 'colour-changing', and he had to admit that the majority of the stuff here were better than any... normal pen could do, but he liked to joke about it nevertheless, maybe to cover for his own lack of any particular ability in life.
"Shut up..." Michael muttered as he picked a fancy Hippogriff feather. He didn't know what it was, but its feather was beautiful. And so was the price tag.
"Can we get self-correcting ones?"
Those were what Mrs. English was examining either. Even though Michael learned English at primary school, she didn't want him to be at a disadvantage over stupid spelling mistakes. He was already a Muggle-born, completely new to this world, she didn't want him ridiculed for anything else. "Sure," she said, "pick any you like."
Michael picked spell-checking, self-spelling and auto-answer while his mum wasn't looking, and got some inks as well. He got some parchment too and... wasn't that... a regular notebook?
"Hey," he said to his family, "let's buy one of these, maybe they've got some sort of magic." He shrugged, Brendan picked one up, and Mrs. English paid for everything before they left.
~ Mrs. Steve Harrington ~ It be like that sometimes.
One of the first stops on today's agenda was Scribbulus. In her opinion, Scribbulus had some of the best stationery in the Wizarding World. Despite moving back to her old job as a Muggle teacher after resigning from her post as Muggle Studies Professor at Hogwarts some years back, Kaysha still loved to make stops often at Diagon Alley. She may have forsaken the Wizarding World in terms of a career but otherwise, it was still her home, a part of whom she was.
What was she looking for today? The forty-three year old was looking for a new quill and scented ink. They were not for her, but rather for her adopted daughter, Emmalyn as a present.
Rhiannon's own departure from the wizarding world had been abrupt, painful, and utterly messy. So much time had passed, Rhiannon herself couldn't even remember whose fault it had been. Sure, there were circumstances. Bridges burned and secrets exposed. But Rhiannon had learned something hard about growing up. Once the dust settles, and you finally take inventory of your life, you realize the mistakes were yours. And they still are yours. Rhiannon embodied them, and then repeated them over and over and over.
But that was fifteen years ago. Now Rhiannon had work to do, and she couldn't hide forever. So she returned.
Among the laundry-list of things to do, she needed a set of quills and invisible ink. She didn't even know if invisible ink was something one could simply meander into a shop and purchase anymore. And of course she wasn't about to ask the shopkeeper to point her to it, because that would reveal that she really in fact had no idea what she was doing, and may as well be wearing a sign across her forehead that read "I've been living as a Muggle for 15 years, ask me how!"
She found the quills well enough. A fine set of two, in their own beautifully carved oak case. Rhiannon had debated on the mahogany case, but ultimately decided against, as mahogany had always seemed vaguely stuffy and autocratic.
The wooden box clutched protectively to her breast (as if it were protecting her, not the other way around), Rhiannon made her way around the shop, pretending to browse casually for her impossible invisible ink when suddenly... was that... grape? A saccharine, syrupy aroma filled her nostrils.
Her green eyes immediately identified the source--there on the nearest counter was an assortment of lovely little bottles of bright-colored inks. A wave of nostalgia washed over her as she recognized them like an old friend. My goddess, scented ink.
Rhiannon set her future purchase on the counter and grabbed the first bottle, greedily, like a child. She lifted the lid, held it to her nose and drew a deep breath in. She smiled, she couldn't help it. Green apple.

SPOILER!!: Rhiannon!

And just like that, it became a good day.
She had browsed practically the entire shop. There were so many products to choose from that Kay decided she’d do some impulsive buying and get some things that were not on her mental list. Her arms were loaded with Eagle quills and jars of Colour Changing Ink. She had a good feeling about Emmalyn loving the ink especially. Kay herself loved them. Then again, she loved anything that was calligraphy or book related.
Kaysha deposited her choices on the counter at the exact moment that the aroma of apple filled her nostrils. Goodness! Apples? Here? The woman was puzzled for a bit. That is, until a glance was taken in the direction the scent came from. That’s when she put it all together: it was the ink, as opposed to real apples.
“Smells heavenly, doesn’t it?’’ she said warmly to the woman with the ink.
He'd made it an excuse to come to Diagon Alley fairly often in order to explore the store options around, and Solana had been nice enough to accompany him most of the times and shop him around and make sure he knew how to handle wizarding money. Honestly, she'd really been the best in figuring all this magic stuff out while Noah had been unavailable and at school. But now, his big brother was back and had been teaching him even MORE so the trips to DA with his friend had been less. This was definitely something that made him a little sad, but he was able to comfort himself with the fact they would soon be at school and see each other ALL of the time.
For now, he actually found himself ALONE and he decided to explore a store he hadn't been to yet. Because there was apparently a store ENTIRELY dedicated to paper, and quills and planners?! This shouldn't have been as exciting as it was to the eleven year old, but it absolutely was. Grinning, he immediately bee lined for the planner section, looking through the options to see if he could find a good option to organize his homework for the upcoming year.
If Hogwarts was going to go poof again, Evan Nam would NOT be unprepared to remember his assignments.

Solana was excited, she had just gotten her allowance plus some extra money from her sister to go wild in the stationery shop! She was going to get a new quill and cool colored inks and a planner and notebooks and pens!
She might be a little too hyped about all of this, but she needed fresh supplies for Hogwarts! And wouldn’t her and Evan’s bucket list look really nice in sparkly purple ink? She thought so!
She bounced into the store, having left her sister and niece out in the alley, and grinned happily as she looked around. She walked the aisles, heading towards the ink first when she spotted a familiar head in the planner section.
Ahhh, it was weird that seeing him here made her heart thud a bit, wasn’t it? Thankfully she pushed that aside and grinned at him.
“Helloooooo friend, looking at planners?” she asked as she grinned up at him. “I just adore this store. ” She said as she bounced a little as she stood there.

Hmmm, why was he so bad at options? There was a really classy looking black planner, but it looked like it was mainly organized by month and didn't have enough space for daily to do lists... but so far all of the daily options he was seeing was either very PINK or floral covered, both of just weren't really his scene... He continued to scan the shelves, before noticing a brown leather planner and grabbing that one to peruse the pages and see if it was something more his speed and what he was looking for.
He nearly dropped the book when he heard a familiar voice behind him, and he spun around to grin at his violet eyed friend. "S! You're here!" They were clearly meant to be best friends if even when they didn't make plans to meet they STILL ran into each other. If he was much of a hugger, he would have done so now. "I hadn't been in this one yet! But... I LOVE this. The quills are so cool! And I didn't realize how many parchment options there were!"
He was much more used to just muggle notebooks and composition books. Which he would probably still utilize as well for keeping notes in since it could be more easily organized and was already bound together. "You looking for anything special today?"

Solana was legit beaming at Evan as she saw him! They were indeed best friends if they could run into each other without even planning it! “I’m here! It me!” She said with a happy giggle as she bounced on her toes, her dark hair bouncing in its ponytail. She wanted to hug him! But she knew that he wasn’t much of a hugger at all.
One day she would hug this boy! But it was not this day!
“It’s incredible isn’t it? ” She said excitedly as she nodded as he spoke. “So many options, it’s pretty much paradise in here. ” She beamed again at him as she tugged at her shirt sleeves a bit.
“Yeah! Notebooks and sparkly ink and cool pens, I thought our bucket list would have just that little extra pizzazz if it was in sparkly ink yeah? ” She bounced on her toes again.

He appreciated the fact she was respectful of his obvious aversion to touching. It wasn't that touching people was particularly bad, nor was a hypochondriac or anything and worried about GERMS. But he did prefer to be really comfortable with people before offering hugs or casual touches or anything of the sort. So far, there was no one outside of his family, but he was growing more and more comfortable with Sol each time they met up. Eventually he'd offer a hug. But he'd save that for a special occasion, like if she was ever sad or something. Hugs were definitely good for sad people.
"Absolutely!! I don't even know where to begin to figure out the differences though!" Which really meant he'd let his little bag of galleons, knuts and sickles do the choosing. Nothing wrong with being frugal. "Do you have any favorites you prefer?"
She was here for supplies for their bucket list!? Evan would not admit he was a little emo over that. He'd never really had a proper FRIEND before. Not outside of his siblings anyways, and since they were obligated to love him did that count? "I love it!! Our bucket list will look good! And how much more satisfying will crossing things off be if we have pretty ink?" So satisfying.

Solana was casually restraining herself from hugging her friend. Instead her bouncing on her toes got a bit more intense as she looked at him, the smile on her face could not get any wider than it was now!
“Well I’d be happy to show you around, so you can see what the differences are.. it’s really not that much.. quills and ink take a bit of getting used too. But it works well. ” She said with a nod as she glanced at him and then around them happily. “Well I like the Fwooper feather quills, but that’s a sister thing.. not cause they are better or anything. ” She said with a soft giggle. Sugar quills and fwoopers were two of the things she had gotten from her sister. Besides the piano playing! Thankfully the clumsiness had not transferred over from her or her mom.. and she was grateful for that.
Az had broken her nose five times during her first term.
Five times
Yikes!
“Right? It will look incredible and I can’t wait to pick out the perfect inks for it! How about we each pick a few, and then we can color code the list in order of how easy things are to do, to how hard! ” She said excitedly as she looked at him happily.

Sol was an ANGEL and he was unsure how he deserved her. So far she was teaching him pretty much everything for school and he would be eternally grateful. Thanks to her, and now the assist from Noah since he was home, he might actually know SOME things before he got to Hogwarts. AND she had let him borrow a ton of books which was just an instant recipe for friendship. "You really REALLY don't mind?" Because he asked her for help WAY too much now.
Wait. A Fwooper? "What's a Fwooper? I don't think I've heard of that bird before.." Had seen the flamingo quills though, and peacocks! He knew those two. "And your older sister was a fan of those too then? Because she liked the... Fwooper?" Whatever it was.
vnjreknfljmoit. Did she just suggest color coding their Friend Bucket List? E was pretty convinced Solana was his match from best friend heaven. "I LOVE that idea! It'll make it easier to pick which things to do next!"
