Okay. So West was saying this was Alice's fault. Adelaide wasn't going to step in and argue. Especially with the reaction Alice was having. That was definitely not something she wanted to get in the middle of. She nodded even though testing the weight didn't need to involve battering the gryffindor captain.

Addi let Alice take the bat as she dug around in her bag for her change purse. She handed over West the money. "Oh. I made these." She pulled out a container filled with brownies and set them on the counter. Again. Yay undetectable extension charm. "You and Alice have at 'em." Even though she had a feeling Alice might not get to them before West ate them all. She smiled taking the bat back from Alice.

"Sure you should've thought of the danger." Shrug. "But its done now and I bet that's throbbing like mad. But it doesn't look broken or like it'll mess up your face for permanent so it'll be okay." He told Alice. And he couldn't really do the whole boo boo kisses thing at work or with an audience. "Lean forward and pinch your nose. A cold wet cloth would help too..." But he wasn't of age and couldn't exactly conjure that.

He took Adds money and counted it into the till, then looked up at 'I made these' and lit up. BROWNIES. ADELAIDE BROWNIES.

"Really? All of 'em?" That would be the best lunch break EVER.

She held up her other sleeve to her nose, seeing as the first was completely blood soaked, ignoring whatever dumb things were coming out of West's mouth now. Hmph. Wasn't like Alice ever needed his help anyway.

The brownies did make her perk up a little, though. A little. "Thanks."

Because Adelaide had said those were for HER, too. Mhm. Vacuum cleaner of a boyfriend wasn't going to be inhaling all of those.

Langen walked up to the counter with her two arms filled with quidditch books. This was completely serious buisness right here. Of the most serious. Yes. Serious enough for those Monopoly mustaches and those monocules, she presumed.

Okay, so not really, but it was serious. Because she wanted to get more information before she started her job at the ministry. The brunette was afraid that she wasn't going to know enough for her own good and get fired within her first year. And that wouldm't suit the plan she was hoping to follow.

But anyway, enough planning for now. She had books to use. The taller girl smiled and put everything on the counter, relief washing over her arms as the pile was taken out of them. Because wooh. She probably needed to get a little bit stronger before she started her job too.

And as luck would have it, she needed to meet with the housekeeper and figure out how bill-paying worked. Because she was officially twenty and she had to figure out how to do that now. That would probably take up the rest of her day. Which sucked, because she wanted to go places too. Like maybe shop for a new quill or some new clothes. But whatever. She had -gasp-adult stuff to do now and fun stuff would have to wait.

Erica was hidden in her backroom when she was sure she could hear some movement outside her door, that was right behind the counter from the customer's perspective. She stood up from her desk and made quickly pushed her hair behind her ear and off her face before heading towards the counter.

Once there she smiled warmly at the fellow customer. A women, likely to be her age or possibly younger. "Is there anything I can help you with, Miss?" The warm smile kept it's place which was from ear to ear.

Langen smiled at the woman's smiling. Whoa. That was a lot of smiling. But smiling wasn't the issue now. It was the two books and several magazines that were currently taking up her arm space. Maybe she would go to Flourish and Botts later on to find some more. The brunette had to be completely immersed with the world of quidditch for her job. And that meant reading up on it. Reading like a high school student the night before his math final.

"Hello, Miss. I'd like to check out all of these items." She was trying to be professional. Because that's what they were at the ministry, professionals. And she didn't want to go in there and make a fool out of her unprofessional self. So she wanted some practice. And she was now practicing with the lady at the counter. Whatever her name may be. That may be helpful to know. Especially wen you were talking and holding a -eh-hem- professional conversation.

Placing the books and magazines on the counter, the twenty year old thought about getting a manicure. But that thought was quickly replaced with the thought of any field work and how she didn't want to spend money on something that would be ruined. Because that was wasteful. And that was her sisters job, not hers. Ana wasted. Langen saved. It was the circle of life.

She should probably say something else so the brunette didn't look weird.

"So, how are you today?" Nailed it. The brown eyed girl picked something from her eyelash and continued thinking about professionalism and how weird it was. Actually, she used to picture the ministry as being completely made of stuffy old men with monocles and suits. That's one of the reasons why she was surprised when she got accepted.

But her full attention should be on this woman, and that's where she made it land.

Ahh. Books and magazines. Must of been new to the wonderful yet treacherous sport of quidditch, or so it seemed from the fact that she had the most basic, yet necessary quidditch book for a beginner, which was the rule. book of course, what else?

Erica nodded politely. "Sure." She then began memorizing each item's price and started off with the books. "Those are both twenty sickles and two knuts." That was if her calculations were right, which she was sure they were. "And those magazines are six sickles and twenty five knuts each."How many magazines were there exactly? Erica began counting the bunch quietly inside her thoughts.

Anything else that needed pricing? Didn't seem so.

Well then a packet it was. The brunette began reaching for one as she replied to the customer's question. "I'm very well today, actually. How about you, Miss?" It was pleasant to see that some customers did ask those sort of questions and not only came to the counter, bought things and left. Those kind of people really upset Erica at times, but these customers they only brought smiles to the woman's face.

With his phoenix feather quick quotes quill floating along side him, Basil approached the shop and made sure not to trek any mud his sneakers may have collected along the way by tapping his both his feet ten times against the ground before entering. He approached the front counter and gave his watch a quick glance. He was a bit early, but not by much. Pushing up on his tip toes, the Editor-in-Chief reached across the counter and gave the bell two firm taps.

Things had been busy to say the least, not that Erica minded. The shop, at this time of the year, was not too over loaded with customers and that gave her time to work on matters to improvise her sales service in any way. Such as opening a new feature that she had to admit she was more than thrilled about. Yet there was lots to do and it was in the earlier hours of the day that Erica focused on some paper work in her backroom office, only to be disrupted by the sound of her counter bell.

A customer was it?

She got up from her seat and headed out the back room, closing the door behind her. Not a customer then, but a man of importance nonetheless. "Mr. Skeeter. Hope things are well." She knew of his name..he was talked of before. A polite smile and nod was given his way and then she gestured towards the back room. "Would you like to possibly talk in my office?" Unless he'd rather walk around, she'd mind neither.

Giving his floating quill a quick nod to begin its note taking on the accompanying pad, he remained standing on his toes as he reached across the counter. "Pleasure, Ms. Dixon," he greeted while extending his right hand for a business handshake. "Things are booming over at the Prophet, as I am sure you have read."

Hogwarts was always a festering pool of destructive news.

"I wouldn't mind a tour of the place, if you don't mind. Can highlight some of your other wares in the article. We can do that first or go into your office first to talk about the extension."

Always a pleasure. He gave his quill a quick glare. "Scratch that one," he muttered to it. The quill obliged, scratching out the few sentences it had just written before hovering over the pad waiting for its next bit to jot down.

"Alright then," he nodded as he waved for his quill to follow him. "So, tell me, what would you say are your best selling items?"

That quill was honestly making her anxious inside and simply because it made her feel the need to sensor everything that came out of her mouth. It wasn't that she had anything to hide, but really it made her feel slightly uneasy. Either way she understood it was much easier when something else did the paper or writing work.

Well then, let the tour begin...

The brunette walked about towards the outer side shelves.

Ophelia shifted her weight as she moved in line and looked happily at the shopkeeper. Five months ago, the magazines in her hands would be like fire to her body, burning her with anger and frustration. Because five years ago, 'Ophie couldn't read. Well, that was not entirely true. The eleven year old could read, but letters constantly got mixed up and the words turned into alphabet soup on the page. But through hours hidden in her houses attic and through thumbing through the pages of various magazines and textbooks, it got better. Not totally, but the small girl didn't want to throw a book every time she attempted to read it. And that was a plus, right?

Standing in the line made the child feel awkward and out of place. For Merlin's sake, the kid was in a dress! But it was needed. Because soon, Ophelia would be going to Hogwarts. And for the life of her, the grey eyed girl did not think she as going to be a Ravenclaw. Which was not a horrible thing, but not good by any means. However, her not so tragic backstory was not something the child was going to get into right now. She had magazines to buy. And they were quidditch magazines! That was like the season finale of magazines!

He was here!!

Edward Darcy was early for once in his life and had hovered around the outside of the shop for a few minutes watching all of the pretty gathering his courage before entering the shop and approaching the front desk.

It was all he could do not to browse the shelves, although he was sure that he'd have time to do that during the course of his internship. Maybe his mum had been right - this could be good for him. Of course, Eddie would have felt differently if he'd been placed anywhere else, but he liked Quidditch. He could be good at this. Maybe.

Now, where was Ms. Person in Charge? Erica Dixon?

Ah, and so the summer season began, when all the kids popped around Diagon Alley along with their long lists of supplies and needs and wishful wants. This was nothing to complain about for Erica, or in fact any shopkeeper, as this meant good business and therefore good profits.

With a warm inviting smile, Erica beckoned the young girl closer as she wondered if the child had been accompanied by an adult. If not, she sure hoped the child would be safe on her own.

"May I help you, dear?" she asked her smile still in its place. Today was the day, Erica had checked her diary that morning and couldn't help but be excited over the fact that she'd be getting her summer assistance within a few hours. Working alone, was usually, no problem at all yet when summer came so did a lot more tasks and important things to do that she simply did not always have enough energy or time to do on her own. This was why she greatly appreciated the summer interns.

The door opened and, of course, Erica's first instinct was to check what kind of customer she had to deal with so early in the morning. Lucky for her that wasn't the matter, or so she hoped not.

"Excuse me?" she began backing away of the counter to walk towards the new face. "Are you one of my summer interns?" she asked hoping he was. After all he did appear to look around the right age.

Kace was excited for this internship. He got dropped off by his mom today. She was so proud he signed up for one. I mean what better way to work in a place where your favorite sport is? He loved Quidditch and he loved playing it in his first year. Anyways back to the task at hand, he needed to go and visit Miss. Dixon. He made his way towards the front desk and noticed the other intern it seemed like beat him here. He smiled and nodded towards him. He waited patiently and then he heard the women's question and Kace raised his hand. "I am here for the summer internship." He didn't know about the other kid but he seemed like the right age.

Hellllllllloo pretty Quidditch lady. Ahem. Eddie grinned as she began to approach him, trying his hardest not to let how nervous he was show. Darcy's didn't do nervous.

At the opening of the door, and the footsteps close to him, he turned his head a little, offering the other boy (who looked about the same age - intern number two?) a friendly nod. Excitement and nervousness were fighting for a place on his face, and Eddie tried to counteract them by grinning (and secretly twisting his hands together behind his back). He so wanted to be good at this, and to have fun, otherwise he was scared that his mother had forced him to waste his summer.

"........." As soon as Ms. Dixon asked the question, his mouth was open ready to answer, but it seemed he hadn't been quick enough. Snapping it closed, he tried not to scowl at the other boy. Eddie was here at his friendliest. Or trying to be. "Yeah, summer intern, Eddie Darcy." He managed to stop twisting his hands and stick one out to shake, then. All professional like.

The brunette's head flicked at the sound of the shop door opening yet again. Another boy had walked in, and again he seemed to be around the right age for the interns she had been expecting. It appeared to be they were prompt young men then, that impressed her enough already.

"Welcome to the two of you." Her gaze shifted from the blonde to the boy that, a few moments ago, looked like he was unsure of what facial expression to wear, until at last he kept with a grin.

Her hand then met the first boy hand and she shook it briefly, although not to softly so that he would no she was one tough cookie. "It's a pleasure to meet you, Eddie," she insisted on using his first name as she was hoping they'd return the favour on her name too. "As to you too, Kace. Is that correct?" she was sure that's what it had been. Just as before her hand extended for a handshake with him too.

Very well then greetings done, she had plenty to do and therefore wanted to begin.

"Let me get started then. I am Erica Dixon, please call me Erica. I'm not an old lady just yet." she insisted that, that was the first thing they had straight. "I do hope you will both enjoy your time here. I can assure you the experience will be something you will both gain from and I hope you learn as much as you can," she turned for just a moment and then picked up two pieces of identical paper, of which she handed one to each of them.

"I've written these out as that way if you forget something you can just take a look at those instruction sheets," she gave them a moment to read through them and then continued."Kace perhaps you begin with list one and Eddie you with two?" unless they wished otherwise.

"Alright then, all make sense? Any questions?" or any other explanations needed clearer? She'd respond without an issue, she had never been too much of the scary type. Her bark tended to be louder than her bite.

As an intern here there are various tasks in the shop you shall assist with. I may ask you for the spare errand or favour here and there but otherwise I would like the two of you to stick to these two lists.I have made two lists so that the two of you can swap each day. One of you will do list 1 whilst the other does list 2 and then the next day you swap, unless you two discuss and wish to do your own same list every day, or you may even divide the tasks amongst yourselves in another manner.

I will be assisting you in this as well as doing other important work such as stock keeping and so on, but I will be watching you both closely. I shall also remind you that if anything is missing, I do know my stock and money count very well and will indeed know so. Yet I trust the two of you to not take anything or cause mischief, but if either of you do, I shall sort you out. This also works the other way around, I will most likely reward you for good work. Lastly I promise I don’t bite and I am more lenient than you think, so if you have any questions at any time, please do ask..

List 1 (Shelves and Displays/Customers)
The shelves and displays always have to be kept in order as well as customers need to be looked after during this busy time therefore you are in charge of doing so. This entails:

1. Unpacking new stock onto shelves and price tagging them. (Neatly please, I will check.)
2. Helping customers around, specifically in the new Broom Testing Room and making sure that there is no chaos, if you can.
3. Keep checking on the displays so that they remain neat. (This includes the window display)

List 2 (Cleaning and Tellering )
The brooms must be in tip top condition, because who would want to buy a damaged broom? I also need the shop to look fairly decent at all times. This list entails:

1. Cleaning the shop which means sweeping the floors once or twice (if needed) a day, cleaning the shop windows and taking out the trash.
2. You are to check that the brooms are in top condition and are polished as well.
3. Once you are done cleaning you may assist me at the counter.

Ooc: These are all of course ic tasks, so go on and have fun with them. Whether you post them daily, weekly or however you want is up to you, even IC wise they do not need to attend daily, you can just assume they've arranged that with Erica. *hopes that isn't worded confusingly*. Eddie hoped that being slightly early hadn’t annoyed Ms Dixon – it was definitely better than late, but maybe she’d have preferred him to arrive EXACTLY at the time stated. But he wouldn’t dwell on that, because she couldn’t change it. Shaking her hand back, he noted that it wasn’t the soft, girlish feel that he was expecting, and he kind of liked it: he couldn’t be bothered having a wishy washy boss. If he was going to be doing an Internship, Eddie actually wanted to be doing something proactive. Or, you know, look as though he was.

And the other boy was Kace. That, too, was noted.

“Erica. Thanks for offering me – us, the opportunity.” Edward hoped that Kace didn’t mind him speaking for him: if the boy was anything like he was, then he wouldn’t really care, but he gave him a look and a small smile just in case. Taking the paper, he read it over one before bringing his gaze back up toward his new boss, and colleague. Those words sounded so grown up. “I’m good with doing list two, yeah.” Offering Kace a grin first, he looked back down to his list. Swapping each day sounded perfect, too, so that the pair of them would get to do a bit of everything.

“Is there any particular time you want the cleaning done? Should I sweep the floor once in the morning and once at close?”

Kace smiled and was glad Eddie was speaking up for him. "Yeah Erica thanks for the opportunity!" He was so happy to be working here. Plus Quidditch was his favorite hobby. Kace was relieved his co worker was fine doing with list two. It seemed easy too. All he had to do was be the teller and help clean. Kace had to unpack shipments and keep the shelves cleaned and tag the prices. Not too bad. Now Kace had a question once everything was clear. "Umm where I am gonna be able to get the new books for me to put on the shelves?" he asked.

Tessa walked up to the counter with a book held tightly in her grip. This was such an interesting sport that they didn't have in the muggle world and she wanted to learn more about it. Tessa opened the book and began to read, waiting for the shopkeeper.

After Kace was busy helping with a customer, he noticed a little girl in need of help at the counter. He walked over and went behind the counter. He put on his friendly smile and asked, "May I help you?"

Tessa looked up suddenly when her attention was needed. She looked up, quiet frightened, she was never good with people. She quickly place her copy of Quidditch Through the Ages that she was reading, on the counter. "I would like to buy the book, please," she said very quietly. Scratch not being good with people, new people scared her half to death. She looked up at him with bewildered eyes, "How much? she asked.
