Smelled gross? Savannah raised an eyebrow before an unamused expression rose on her face,"Hey, shut up. YOU are just trying to annoy me."She said narrowing her eyes at him, hitting him in the arm. What was up with him and wanting to annoy her? >_< It was weird. She shook her head as he mentioned candy, "I think you can last like fifteen minutes with out candy."Savannah said, her back now turned to Torin. She was looking for that mascara, that mascara she actually came here for. |
Rose <333 The last time she had been in this shop had been to give Sal a nice new hair-do complete with blonde tips and all. Well actually she had dyed his hair totally blonde and given him a mohawk. Ahhh good times. This time however, Mia was here for herself. She had never bothered with make-up and perfume before but she had never had the money before and because she had never had anyone to really impress before either. So into the shop she went and headed straight for the make-up counter where she promptly sat down on a stool and studied all the cosmetics in front of her. Where did one even start? Picking up a small compact, Mia turned it over in her hands a few times and reading the words 'blusher'' on the bottom. Oh. She knew what that was and she looked around for a brush. |
Mel ^_^ As the days neared her birthday, and Evelyn was beginning to wonder just how she was going to spend her day. Maybe get herself a little something something, and then spend the day with her friends? Maybe they could have some random picnic. It was random, but with no one around to stop them or give them rules, it will most likely turn out to be interesting and rather fun. Picnics and mischief were definitely not the reason she was here in this shop though. And she certainly didn't need any makeup at the moment. She barely used any so her supply would last quite awhile. What she needed was...more lotion. The teen was running out and as stupid as it sounded, it just somehow got under her skin that the lotion bottle was pretty much see-through now. Speaking of spending her b-day with friends, hazel eyes landed on someone quite familiar...who she had not seen in FOREVER! "Come out of hiding have you?" she asked with a sly smile as she paused in step, staring at Mia. Where had she been all this time? |
Finally finding a small brush, Mia picked it up and popped open the compact and looked at it for a moment. It was a little...bright. And very, very pink. It reminded her of a clown she had seen at the circus. Hmm...maybe this was the circus make-up. She decided to put the compact back and find something a little more subtle. And of course just as she was placing the compact where she had got it from a voice spoke from her left causing her jump slightly with fright, her hand jerking and a number of bottles toppled over. "Shoot!" She muttered as she tried desperately to save any more bottles from falling over. When it seemed that everything else seemed to be staying put, Mia finally turned to see... "Evelyn!" She squealed, jumping up from the stool and knocking over a few more bottles. Now if it had been Destiny or Marie, Mia probably would have run to them and given them a big hug but she had the feeling Evelyn wouldn't be quite so accommodating if she did that. So instead she gave the girl a bright smile and answered her question. "I haven't been hiding." Well that was sort of true. She had just been quite busy with a certain person. "How are you? And how was your summer break?" She asked trying to take the focus off where she had been all summer. |
Oh. Oh...wow. Staring as bottle after bottle fell over, Evelyn shifted her weight to her other leg, her arms slowly coming out from having been crossed over her chest. Mia definitely was the most clumsiest girls she had ever known. "Mia-" Eh. Evelyn just stared until the bottles finally stopped falling over, and after a moment or so, a small little chuckle escaped her as well as a grin finally appeared on her face. Well, that was eventful. "Really? Because last I saw you was at the feast." she replied, moving near her side so she could help pick up the bottles. Really, the last she needed was another crazed shopkeeper person breathing down her neck for something that wasn't even her fault. Raising a brow, the girl glanced towards the Hufflepuff, narrowing her eyes playfully. "Someone didn't steal you did they?" Hehe. Picking up a few bottles, she placed them where she thought they were supposed to be put, before shrugging her shoulders. "I've been good. Summer has been..." Brilliant! "...well it was bad in the beginning, but it got better." Grinning sweetly, which was a big accomplishment for Evelyn to smile like that and actually mean it, she leaned against the counter, her fingers tapping the edge every now and then. "How about you and your summer?" |
Er... Did someone steal her? Technically they hadn't but she supposed that she had been M.I.A. for the whole summer. And she still would have been if she didn't need to get some supplies for school and Nik needed to start his internship. Mia was so excited for him and she couldn't wait to hear how he was doing with it all. A small smile crossed her lips as she thought about him and then noticed that Evelyn was looking at her and waiting for an answer. She felt her cheeks grow warm and looked back at the bottles on the counter. "No. Not stolen exactly. I went willingly." Mia felt that smile creep across her face again. She couldn't help it. She was just so darned happy. Evelyn's summer was not good in the beginning? Oh that was so not fair. Actually Mia's wasn't that great in the beginning either. "I'm sorry to hear that. May I ask why not?" She was such a curious little thing at times. "But you don't have to tell me if you don't want to." Because it was none of her business after all. That smile was back on Mia's face and not because she was thinking about her summer but because Evelyn was actually smiling. She was starting to like this girl more and more. "It was a bit slow to start off with but just like you, it got better. A whole lot better." |
Willingly hmm? Well, that could only mean two things. Her parents took her somewhere awesome and Mia was just having too fun of a time, or... "Who is it?" Evelyn wanted to know who it was! The person that stole the Huffie girl away from the awesome Slytherin friends. Adjusting the bottles and little containers so they were in the perfect spots on the counter, and all looked rather uniform in layout, Evelyn smiled at her work before turning her full attention back to Mia. Hmm, perhaps she shouldn't have brought up summer being bad? "It's...nothing really." she said with a wave of her hand before crossing her arms like they were before. There was nothing really to discuss anyhow. It was too painful to relive! Anyhow, now that the topic was away from herself, the sly little smirk she had in before the bottle chaos erupted returned as she turned a little more towards Mia, almost like they were sharing secrets. Which, would be rather strange if that ever happened in the first place. A whole lot better? "Where have you been all this time?" Sure, she willingly was taken away, but...where did she go? |
Evelyn sure did ask a lot of questions. Mia felt her face grow warm again. It's not that she didn't want to talk about him, she just wasn't used to this whole confiding thing. Marie had pretty much had to drag it out of her as well. "Nikolai Ognian." She whispered feeling her face grow even warmer. "He was one of the Durmstrang Champions." You know in case Evelyn didn't know that. Glad for the distraction, Mia watched with fascination as Evelyn lined up all the bottles. Obviously this girl liked things neat and orderly. The Slytherin probably might not want to come and visit the commune then. Mia raised her eyebrow at Evelyn. Nothing? Mia didn't think so but she was respectful of people's privacy and decided not to push her about it...yet. "Hmm okay." She said eyeing Evelyn off. "So can you tell me about the good parts then?" Gah more questions? Letting out a slow breath, Mia ran her hand through her hair. A nervous gesture that she couldn't seem to get rid of. "I was at home...sort of. I mean I was in Australia showing Nik, the sights." |
Nikolai...Onion? That was his name? Ohh, he was a Durmstrang champion. Hehe, now, which one was he- ...O__O!!!! "You mean, Mr. Mysterious?" she asked hesitantly, her expression one of bewilderment. According to Mia's rather obvious blushes and how she whispered his name, that meant the guy was good looking. And the only good looking Durmstrang champion was...Mr. Mysterious. HOW did she not know of this before!? Blinking, and mouth hanging open just the slightest as she stared at the chair that the Hufflepuff girl had been sitting in, the teen snake was...definitely not jealous. Pfft, no. Shaking her head, Evelyn sucked in a deep breath and ran her hands through her long dark brown hair, raising a brow at Mia. "You guys, spent the whole summer together?" Jealous! NOW she was jealous! Letting her hands drop to her sides, she smiled somewhat, thinking about her summer. "I suppose it was almost like one giant, never-ending, slumber party at Rae's and my house." And she would have invited Mia but, she had disappeared! Poof! "And it's almost my birthday, so obviously the end of summer is the best time of all." So, Mia got to 'hang out' with Mr. Mysterious and TRAVEL while she herself was stuck with Huffie dude? Pfft. Mia's summer was so much better. Then again, Evelyn didn't really know where to travel to. Or...how. |
Were they talking about the same person? Mia had never found Nik to be mysterious. He had been pretty forthcoming with her...well most of the time even when they had been at each others throats in the beginning. The look on Evelyn's face however had Mia concerned. Was there something she didn't know about Nik? She swallowed feeling a little nervous now. At the Slytherin's question, Mia couldn't help smiling. "Well not the whole summer but most of it." And it had been the best time of her life. "He's invited me to Moscow for Christmas." She blurted out in her excitement. This confiding thing was really starting to grow on her. Mia noticed Evelyn's smile and she couldn't help smiling in return. The girl should do that more often. "Oooh a slumber party? Sounds like fun. What exactly do you do at a slumber party?" Because she had never actually been to one before. Actually this was probably about the first time she'd had girls for friends. Her eyes widened a little when Evelyn mentioned her birthday. "Oh my gosh. Why didn't you say so before? We should do something. Find the other girls and have a party of sorts." She had been wondering where Marie and Destiny were. Usually they seemed to gravitate towards each other but she hadn't seen either of them but then she had only just gotten here. |
Most of it. Mia, got to be with Nikolai, for most of the Summer. She was so lucky. "What? Really?" Moscow? That was...where was that? Somewhere, over there. "Is that where he lives?" For someone who was mighty jealous, Evelyn was beginning to feel rather animated. Talking about boys was not something she did. Ever. This whole summer was just full of things she never did before. "So, you two traveled Australia for the summer, and he asks you to Moscow for Christmas? Sounds serious." Turning some of the bottles so she was able to read the titles before putting them back neatly, Evelyn glanced to Mia's direction, waiting in anticipation for an answer. What exactly happened with them two? What was...wow. "At a slumber party you just, well you can do anything. The point is to just have fun with your friends." Yea, she definitely was not calling what happened a slumber party then. It was so much more. Meep? Hehe, well if she knew she was going to get that reaction, she would have mentioned her birthday the first chance she got. On the other hand though... "I kinda don't really want a party actually." Surprise, surprise. "More of, just a day of relaxation, hanging out by a lake or something with friends. Bring snacks, drinks, swim, work on our tans..." A nice day of hanging out before heading back to school. Sounded nice in her mind. |
"Yeah. He just got his own place there." Mia of course didn't realise that to other people that statement was probably going to be a big deal. She just simply couldn't wait for Christmas to hurry up and get here. The way Evelyn was talking was really starting to make Mia nervous. It appeared to the other girl that this kind of thing was something big. And since she had never really had a boyfriend before, she didn't look at it as something big. Well it was. But Mia just found it natural. "I - I don't know. I guess." Her gaze went to the bottles that Evelyn was turning over and she shifted slightly on her feet. "I like him" She said returning her gaze back to Evelyn. "A lot." Well that was certainly an understatement. It was more than that but she wasn't ready to tell anyone that. Have fun with your friends. Well now that was something Mia could do. "I like the sound of this slumber party thing." Maybe she could have one at the commune. Oh now wouldn't that be something different. Mia chuckled softly. "Not big on parties eh? A day at a lake sounds like fun too though. So was that an invitation?" |
Slowly putting down a little container, her eyes widened as she turned to Mia. "His own place." she repeated, just making sure she heard correctly what was said. Huh. And, Mia did not looked phased at all by what she just said. "Have fun with that now. We're all just an owl away if you need anything." Giggling silently, the Slytherin shook her head and turned back to the counter, her hazel eyes gliding over each color, label, and object within sight. Why were there so many? Hold on. She, guessed? Raising a brow, Evelyn slowly let out a breath before moving away from the counter. Well, everyone had their own opinions on matters and relations. And... Yeaa. "Congrats." she muttered in slight sarcasm, shaking her head in confusion and taking a step away from Mia. Her gaze was kinda intense. Clearing her throat, she blinked before smiling, almost apologetically. "I mean, well that's great. Does he like you back? A lot?" Obviously somewhat, considering they spent almost the whole summer together and he invited her to his own flat over Christmas break. Why the sudden thought of having a slumber party in the Room of Requirement entered her mind was beyond her. On the other hand, it was almost a rather brilliant idea. Why had she not thought of it before? "Too many big parties actually." she replied, not really thinking since she was staring off into space and her thoughts were far far away from here. Her eyes did flicker back over to Mia though, without blinking as of yet. "Obviously." Of course it was an invitation. "Otherwise I wouldn't be telling you how I wanted to spend my birthday." |
What was that supposed to mean? Mia was definitely getting nervous now and she wished that she had just kept her mouth shut about it. Especially seeing how this conversation was taking a downward spiral very fast. The sarcasm was noted. Loud and clear. Mia shifted uncomfortably and she looked at Evelyn. "Did I say something wrong?" She decided not answer the girl's question. In fact she decided that she wasn't going to talk about her personal life anymore. Not that she didn't like talking about Nik because she did. It made her happy but it seemed not to make others happy. First Matthias and now Evelyn. The way the girl kept staring off into space and Mia feeling slightly concerned and she wanted to ask but Evelyn wasn't the type to open very freely. And although she considered the girl her friend, Mia wasn't quite sure how Evelyn felt about her. "Well...um...that's nice. It sounds like fun."Well it would have five minutes ago. But now Mia wasn't so sure. And she did not know how to turn this conversation back around. |
Hmm, and this was why Evelyn didn't really have those, girly talk about boy talks with people. Her little pet peeves and irritations got in the way. Not to mention, none of her friends have been interested in boys she found worth talking about, unless it was to complain. What was up with that? Sighing, Evelyn looked down and shook her head, and small laugh escaping her in a wispy breath. "No, I..." She what? "...I'm just..." Not being able to think of what to say, that's what was going on. "Nevermind. You didn't say anything wrong." Shaking her head, she shrugged her shoulders in a rather casual manner. Nodding silently, already knowing that her birthday was going to be extraordinarily relaxing and fun, the Slytherin girl looked around the place, not having been in here before, so it was nice to take in where things were and what there was. Speaking of things and where they were, the teenager looked back to Mia, a grin on her face. "Do you by any chance know where the lotions are?" |
Deciding to file away this conversation away in the back of her mind so that she would remember never to talk to Evelyn about her personal life. Or boys. Or relationships. Because it clearly made the girl uncomfortable. Truth be told, Mia wasn't that comfortable talking about it either. She liked the thought of keeping Nik just to herself. Mia simply nodded at Evelyn. Really, what could she possibly say anyway. Apparently she had said nothing wrong but the girl was not going to elaborate any further on the matter. So Mia decided just to let the matter drop. Finally! Evelyn was smiling again. Mia wanted to tell her that she should smile more often but she would rather not have to face the wrath of the Slytherin. So returning Evelyn's smile, Mia pointed in the direction behind the girl. "I think I saw some in the aisle over there. What kind are you looking for?" That was a innocent enough question, right? |
Glancing back to wherever Mia was pointing to, her eyes scanned the general area until she saw an aisle that could have lotions shelved in it. "Thank you." she muttered, taking a quick look at the girl next to her before taking a step towards the aisle...and then having to pause again. Eh, cross legged wasn't so comfortable. What kind was she looking for? For someone who took pride in her grades and thought herself smart, Evelyn had no clue what that question was referring to. Was she talking about brand? Smell? Appearance? Taking another step, the Slytherin turned around and continued towards the aisle that Mia had pointed to, leaving her question unanswered. It was only a minute or so later that the Slytherin girl had come back with two lotion bottles in hand, both different colors. Oh good, Mia was still there. "So, I'm going to ask you something that you will never, ever, ever, repeat to anyone for as long as you live, or face the ugly consequences of my angry Slytherin wrath." Hmm yes, understood? She was being serious here. ..."Which do you think I should get? Pumpkin?" Holding up a the light Orange colored bottle, Evelyn raised a brow before holding up a Pink one. "Or strawberry?" |
"You're welcome." Mia replied giving the girl a small smile and seeing that her question was going to go unanswered, she busied herself with looking at the cosmetics on the counter in front of her. And managing to knock over a couple more bottles while reaching for a purple colored nail polish. She quickly picked the bottles back up and placed them as neatly as she could so that Evelyn didn't freak out or anything. Turning the bottle upside down, Mia read the label on the bottom. "Juicy plum." She muttered to herself. Sounded like something you ate. But the color did look awesome though and she decided that she just might buy a bottle. Looking up as Evelyn returned, Mia was just about to ask her did she find what she was looking for when the Slytherin spoke first and Mia's eyes widened and she gulped while nodding her head. Like she was ever going to repeat anything the girl told her after that statement. Mia studied the two bottles for a moment and scratched her forehead. "Well the strawberry does smell better. But the pumpkin is better for your skin. It has more moisture in it." But of course she was no expert. |
Evelyn waited rather patiently as Mia tried to decide an answer on this oh so important matter. Studying the girl's expression, the Slytherin thought it was a rather hard decision for the Hufflepuff as well. How could it not be? For her anyway, a strawberry was the best thing out there. The smell, the taste, the structure, the colors...what was there not to like? On the other hand, this pumpkin lotion was something she was not used to, but the smell was amazing. "Better for your skin?" For real? It smelled good, and it was the better one for skin. Huh. Clicking the top open, she raised it to her nose to smell. Hmm... "Smells like Christmas." she muttered, lowering the bottle before eying Mia. Yea, that was getting to no one else's ears either. Glancing down to both lotion bottles, she gently bit her lip, thinking it over. There really was only one way to settle this. "Which one would you get, Mia?" |
From the look on Evelyn's face she seemed to be assuming that Mia knew nothing about this sort of thing. Which in a sense she wasn't but they did use natural products back at the commune. They made their own for Merlin sakes but Evelyn of course didn't know that. Well Mia didn't know about that. Did pumpkins smell like Christmas? She came from Australia and Christmas over there was in summer so they didn't have pumpkins at Christmas. That was a winter vegetable. But to each their own she supposed. A look of surprise crossed Mia's face. She hadn't thought that Evelyn would care that much for her opinion. "Well seeing how you like both smells. I would go with the pumpkin. That way you know your skin is going to be nice and soft. And well nourished as well." Since it seemed they were at the point of comparing notes with each other, Mia held up the bottle of nail polish. "What do you think of this?" |
Aw pumpkin. Somehow she was expecting Mia to choose the strawberry one, but maybe that was just wishful thinking on her part? Having always used strawberry before, she didn't know what she'd do without it! But, Mia was right. The pumpkin one was, better. How in the world was she supposed to decide? Of course, keeping Mia's opinion in mind, Evelyn looked up to see what it was that caught her attention milliseconds before. Nail polish? "For you?" she asked, glancing from the little bottle of nail polish, to Mia, and then back again. Tilting her head to the side just a tad, her eyes flickered from bottle to fingers before giving her opinion. "I think it'd look nice." Definitely. Thank Merlin Evelyn wasn't being asked about something PINK. And they could all just forget that the strawberry lotion was exactly that color. Speaking of lotion, it was official. She made up her mind. She was getting both. It was the only way! "Is that what you came in here for?" Nail polish? Or just browsing and found something she liked. Meep! |
Was it so surprising that Mia would want to wear make-up? Maybe it was seeing how she had never worn it before. She liked the natural look and because she couldn't afford to buy make up. That stuff was expensive. "Yeah for me." She finally replied and looking down at the bottle in her hand again. It really was an awesome looking color. And with Evelyn telling her it would like nice, Mia made up her mind to buy it. "Thanks." Now that Evelyn was being nice again, Mia was starting to enjoy herself. She shook her head at the girl's question. "I was just browsing." She looked at the cosmetics in front of her again and sighed. "To be honest I would have no idea where to even start with half of this stuff." She looked back at Evelyn and shrugged her shoulders. "Haven't really had any opportunities in my life to dress up or wear make-up." Mia could see that Evelyn was still holding the bottles of lotion in her hands and she nodded her head towards them. "Did you decide on which one you wanted?" |
Mmhmm. Her gaze flickered back down to the lotions, but for a moment or so, she looked over to the other colors that the nail polish came in. Not being one to enjoy nail polish, or had any time before to sit down and do it herself, a clear coating wouldn't be all that bad right? Make them somewhat shiny, yet not too out there. Eh, pffft. She didn't need it. No opportunities to dress up or wear make up? "And what about now?" Surely there were plenty more opportunities now. On the other hand, Mia didn’t really need any make up or to dress up. Sure, Evelyn thought her clothes could use with a little upgrading, but the Hufflepuff had that whole natural beauty thing about her that…just got under the Slytherin's skin sometimes even if they hadn't known each other for all that long. Pretty much exactly like how it was with Kylie. Darnit. However, she was not, going, to, say, a, word…and ruin everything. "Oh umm…" Raising both bottles, she shrugged her shoulders somewhat. "Figured I’d just get both." It'll last her twice as long then. Really, this was the last thing she was going to buy this summer. "And…you should get a clear coating of polish too." Just, to throw that out there. Hehe. |
That was a very good question. Was there a reason for her to now start wearing make-up? Sure, she was with Nik but he seemed to like her just fine the way she was but on the other hand they had spent the summer camping. What happened when she went to visit him in Moscow? Would they go out to places that would require her to dress up? Obviously these thoughts had been bouncing subconsciously around in her mind. Or why else would she be here in the beauty shop. "I don't know. Maybe." She said with a shrug of her shoulders. Mia looked at all the bottles in front of her before looking back at Evelyn. "I suppose it wouldn't hurt to get the basics right?" Only there was one problem with that... "Er...what are the basics?" Looking at the two bottles in Evelyn's hands, Mia nodded her head. "Wise choice." She stated. At least that way if it turned out that she didn't like the pumpkin one then she could have the strawberry one as back up. And then she gave the girl a startled look. "Clear polish? Um...okay." Now where was the clear polish? |
Joey went into the store and went straight to the make up and looked for some colors that will go well with Selina red hair.joey pick lavender eyeshadow, rose 1 blush, pink 2 lip color, black eyeliner samples and waited for her. |
