| | Editor-in-Chief’s Office
Not far down the hall from where the writers and editors work is the Editor-in-Chief's office. Editor-in-Chief, Basil Skeeter, prefers to keep his office a little more private and has thus removed the opaque glass walls and traded them for solid cream colored ones. Basil is usually sitting behind his desk with paperwork stacked to his left and a single pineapple placed on the edge of his desk to the right. Why a pineapple? You can try to get an answer out of him if you wish, but don't expect one. Basil is very private about certain things.
On the shelf behind Basil's desk, among all the library of books and under a clock, is a unique looking fish tank that has pygmy plimpies swiming about in it like adorable aquatic hamsters. To the left of this, over in the corner by one of the large windows that looks out onto the streets of Diagon Alley, is a sink that Basil uses whenever he enters and exits his office - and whenever one of his staffers hands in an assignment. You won't find any pygmy plimpies in here, however. Instead you will find a colorful assortment of mundane fish purchased in Muggle London.
Basil keeps his door locked at all times, so you must knock if you wish an audience with him. Have no fear, he is usually of a good disposition as long as he has a nice steaming cup of coffee in his mug.

| Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite The world might indeed be coming to a premature end for the woman found herself sharing the amusement of her boss. Threats. This one hadn't been a very sharp one from the beginning but he was proving less so now and it only brought a cynical smile to her face. "Yes, how dare we go near your family? Near the precious little baby sleeping. What right did I have to cut a lock of hair for a souvenir?" First lesson to be learned, Dark Wizards did what they wanted.
By the time this night was over the man would have a better understanding of that, they would see to it. "Now now, Peverell, you're being too hasty. I do think we can squeeze in a haircut while we educate the man. It's as simple as a flick of the wrist." As she demonstrated only seconds later. This left a bald line in the middle of his head. Shame, it seems she cut too close for seconds later it looked to be bleeding.
Skin grew back, he would be fine--on that front. "Tonight you're going to learn why Knockturn Alley is best left alone and if we feel like it, we'll let you go back to your wife after--if we're so inclined we'll even send you back in one piece." Unless they ended up trimming a few digits off him as well....

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... Hearing the laughter he glanced side eyed at Basil, but quickly focused back on the two Wizards that were in front of him. He knew them both he had a few encounters with them both. That laugh still going through him he knew that wasn't his boss' laugh, no it was too off to be a Basil laugh, something wasn't right in this room and he had a suspicion, from past experiences, he knew what it was.
He fought hard not to roll his eyes by keeping his family in his head. He had to keep them safe, the rest to him didn't matter as long as they were safe. He left his home once before to keep his family safe, would he have to do it again? Honestly though two against one and he didn't have his wand, nice of them to have a fair fight to truly show what they were made of he knew dark wizards liked the upper hand, but he couldn't see one of the dark wizards he encountered in Ronda taking a wizards wand, at least not right away. His eyes fell on the woman and he felt his hand ball into a fist. She would never have touched Regina without her waking, she wasn't a sound sleeper. No she was lying, so he stayed calm. He glanced watching as the man did something weird like Rasberries he couldn't help but think how anyone truly took him seriously. How wasn't he carted off to St. Mungos to the mental unit yet? "You've never dealt with me, but obviously my reputation has followed if you knew to take my wand. do you really think you two are the first Dark Wizards I've seen or wrote about?" He knew it was best to keep his mouth shut, but that was never his way.
Now it was his time to laugh or more chuckle a bit amused. "I know all about you, my entire career has focused on some of the top Dark Wizards in Spain and to bring light on the corruption that goes on with Ministry officials especially MLE." Many times people couldn't decide if he was for or against dark wizards, which was were he liked to be. Folding his arms he stood in front of them, "If you remember correctly or take notice to anything in the Prophet I've written a few articles about this very MLE and have come into your alley a few times to get more facts against them. I have even been arrested by them just for pushing an auror back away from my now wife. When I was in the alley instead of getting facts about them, I instead got a bald head, danced with a Goblin, and drank with a pretty face." His smirk moved towards the woman "Then was threatened to leave. So that article, which I'm assuming what you are talking about, was written well after watching and getting facts about certain wizards." he had written it after so many childish attempts of people saying they were dark wizards. His mind went to curses he had seen and been given, Nita, and Ronda, but soon found it's way back to focus on the two that did have wands, just as the skirt was making a bald pot across his head. He didn't flinch nor did he even put a hand up, he wouldn't give them a benefit of that. He had much worse, so big deal. They hadn't just killed him so they must need him for something, what was his question. "Also, if you haven't noticed I haven't written one of those articles in over a year. I mostly write about sports now. So unless you are starting your own Quidditch or Gobstone league, I'm not sure what you would like." He glanced at the skirt once again as she rambled about that stupid Alley. His thoughts nor feelings for it wouldn't change. He could have helped them very easily over a year ago, but now, yeah... no

| Dalliesa | Ab-Bot | Hogwarts Trojan War | His... reputation... preceded him? Peverell looked down at the man's wand in his hand. "You mean this stick? Take it." He threw it to him. They weren't stupid to let him have it during the transportation but now that they all were in the safety of the protective spells Emma had cast on Basil's office, the man can have his wand back. That is, because Peverell's annoyance was rising within the minute and he did not have a reason to let this man stay alive so far.
In fact, Peverell didn't want him to walk out of here and rat them out to anyone so only two options were popping in his head to solve this problem. Neither one was good news for the lad.
The lad was delivering facts and a logical argument over why he wrote that article. "So.. you were upset over making it out of the alley with a bald head and a dance with my beloved Goblin? My my, I didn't know you were seeking the real treatment from us." Peverell put his hand lightly on his chest, faking an apologetic look. "Please. Let us make it up to you..." And his eyes lit with rage. "Emma. Should you do the honour or shall I?" He ignored the last bit about writing sports, that was the man's subtle cry for mercy in Peverell's eyes. It was too late, though, now there was no going back from writing that ridiculous, naive article about a world that this man had no knowledge of. They weren't in Spain, they were in London, whatever this man claimed to know didn't apply here. |

| skipping Kath til she gets directions ^^ Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite For a man who's life was on the line, he seemed to talk a lot about absolutely nothing. Last she checked, they were in London. Him studying Dark Wizards in Spain had absolutely nothing to do with them. The things he did, his reputation he thought he had, all of that was insignificant. Why should she care? They meant nothing to her. No one she'd spoken to in all her dealings with Spain mentioned him. They didn't flow in the same circles and this was obviously for good reasons.
He'd said his bit as he had some right to and little acknowledgement was given to the fact he now had his wand. It was the least they could do given the circumstances.
At last, Peverell spoke and there was the faintest smirk gracing his lips. "You know what they say, ladies first." Sports articles, gossip columns, it made no difference.
Emma raised her wand, pleased they'd gotten to the portion of the night she'd been waiting for and immediately cast a cruciatus curse. Nothing would give her more joy and the woman had always been one to play with her food first if you understood the sentiment.

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... He had only two thoughts going through his mind at the moment that he was struggling to pull out of. One, how can he keep his family safe, this was why he went to Basil in the first place to change direction in his writing, this is why he stopped doing his passion to bring down corrupt MLE and expose Dark Wizards, to keep his family safe. Now it seemed it was pointless. His passion wasted and his family put in danger. His second thought how himself and Basil would get out of there alive. He assumed Basil was not himself, so it was up to him to figure this out. He kept his calm composure, years of practice helping with nerves.
Seeing his wand he gripped it and automatically thought about disapperating, but that would mean leaving Basil to die and he couldn't do that. He wasn't that type of person. The man was talking again and Jorge gripped his wand tightly, "Not upset, annoyed that I could have helped you get rid of some of the more annoying MLE that I know are not working for the good of anyone." Jorge had only one agenda at the time, himself. That was all that ever mattered until Mariel and now Regina. Though the lack of wizards around here that helped, made it to him more obvious that the corruption in this MLE was no different then the one he left. Different place, same story.
He looked between the two of them and tried to figure out the best position to get to Basil when he saw her wand go up. He sent his shield before knowing exactly what she was casting. The curse hit his shield throwing him back as it passed easily through and hit him. Slamming him against a cabinet with his head hitting hard. He tried to fight it, but his head throbbed from the hit that his focus was not his normal and the curse pulled into him and the pain surged through his body. He screamed out in pain, it was horrible pain. His body almost shaking from him trying to move to release the horrible agony that he was in.
With his already injured head and the pain the curse was bringing Jorge felt as if his head would explode. Nothing was seeming to release this pain, his screams still going as his hands moved to his head. His already blurred vision from the hit against the cabinet were growing more and more dark as the head injury and the curse took over. Soon he laid with a slight tremble of the muscles as the combination knocked him out.

| Dalliesa | Ab-Bot | Hogwarts Trojan War | Peverell let Emma deal with the man. He wanted to get rid of Jorge altogether, didn't want to deal with the complications he might bring along if he was released back to his life. On the other hand, killing the man would result in having to clean up their mess and get rid of all the evidence against them. Except Peverell didn't mind playing with the MLE. But now that the foxy leader left and was replaced with an ugly old man, he was less keen on dealing with them.
"You broke him." He spoke when the kidnapped man stopped screaming on the floor. Peverell moved closer to him and knelt beside him with his wand in his hand. "Maybe we should give him a nice story about what happened here?" He smirked, his teeth glinting. The tip of his wand touched the man's temple as he extracted out the memory of Emma and Peverell's faces and names, though the incident remained the same. If he woke up any time soon, he'd remember them as Falanji Osten and Oliver Lumiere. |

| Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite Her only bit of satisfaction for the night--aside from the digit removals--and Emma intended to enjoy it. She watched the pained expression sweep across his face; the way agony gripped him and twisted him this way then that. Hungry eyes took in everything with much enthusiasm, bringing on a look that was almost as manic as something to be expected on Peverell's face.
Her arms folded at her chest, with determination to watch every minute of it unfold but it unfortunately was not very long lived.
Disappointing. The man had put up a good fight against the curse but it wasn't quite as delicious as it could have been. The absence of crimson often did that. Eyes flickered back to her partner at his comment. Broke him? The story actually didn't sound like a bad idea at all.
Once that was done, she helped haul the man up and they apparated back to his house where the man was dumped at his front door with a solid kick to the stomach for good measure. That..that also felt good and their business with him was done. Now back to the office for their toy.

He said nothing and stood somewhere around the middle of his office while observing the man, waiting for him to make the first move.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Amur Neverwinter Fourth Year | ~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~ This man, this Skeeter, didn't bother him. Not the glares, not the slamming of the door, not the locking of the door. In fact, those things detatched his attention from the Prophet head, allowing him the opportunity to be intruiged by what he saw around the room.
His gaze pulled him forward and to the desk, where he slid the coffee tray with its two untouched coffees onto the polished wood. The envelope, got set between them. And then he was moving again, not even glancing at his desposit or the man to see his reaction. He was moving slowly, inquisitively about the room, one slow step at a time.
A knowledge that he should have left by now, tickled at the back of his mind, but the things in the room, and the lacking of things were too interesting. More interesting than the man. The man he had to be sure, got the message. So, for now, he stayed.

| astronomizzle ♧ gryffinDORK | & the rest is drag ♣ #badluckDerf Basil watched silently as the visitor went about his business, dropping off an envelope and two coffees on the table. Something, a small part of him that had been muted for some time now, was screaming to get out, telling him to tear up the envelope and dump the coffee, but that was not the part of Basil that was awake.
If awake could even be called the appropriate term.
"What does the master wish?" he question, pointing towards the envelope in particular. Was he meant to open that, or was it to be delivered to someone else? Basil waited for his instructions on how to proceed to best fulfill his duties.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Amur Neverwinter Fourth Year | ~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~ The man's words halted Mathis in his tracks behind the man's desk, and he almost laughed. But laughter was like words in a way, spoken in a different dialect but easy to interpret and the point of a great amount of communication. And he was not permitted to speak. Not a word.
So, the laughter was restricted to his gaze as he turned around slowly, his eyes burning with amusement born of cruel malice as they regarded the man briefly. With ease, he leaned over the desk and plucked the envelope out from between the two coffees, passing it over.
That was it, his job was done. Technically.
But what sort of questions would be asked of a thirty-second meeting. Of two coffees undrunk. Of the man once he finished reading the contents of the package. Coffee wasn't his thing, it had never really been his thing. But today, it suited a purpose and so he found himself fancying a cup.
Once the envelope was transferred over, he picked out one of the coffee's, spun the man's chair about and deposited himself within it. A long draw was taken from the beverage container, his eyes once again roaming, disinterested in the man and his attire.

Willingly, Basil accepted the envelope and turned his back to the man to read it. No further attention was needed on him as it was the master's wishes that he read whatever was within. Vacant eyes reading the parchment, he said nothing and immediately took out his wand to cast a silent Incendio to it. As the last of the ashes touched the ground of his office, he gave another fluid wave of his wand to banish them.
Nothing had been said about the coffee, so the other cup left untouched for now as he stared vacantly still at the delivery boy who now occupied his seat.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Amur Neverwinter Fourth Year | ~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~ It was the fire that caught Mathis's attention, his gaze slipping over to watch the caged man as he destroyed the evidence of the letter. He wanted to laugh again, as their gaze met, but once again it was restricted to a smug smile. One which was concealed behind a long draw of the coffee, but which touched his eyes without restraint.
The silence between them was thick, almost unbearable, and Mathis reveled in it. He had thought this task below his skill grade, a sure thing to be boring and mundane. It wasn't the first time he was wrong, and it wasn't the first time he didn't mind admit being wrong. There was quite a bit of enjoyment to be had here, and so he lingered, counting the minutes as they ticked by and watching the creature before him.
A faint thought finally stirred him. A tickle of discontent that came from the unknown contents of the letter. His eyes slipped to the man's wand, to where the parchment had been and then all the way back up to his eyes. With a frown, Mathis stood, dumping his coffee mug in the garbage by the desk and plucking the other one up.
It was too steps before he was in front of the Skeeter. Two steps before he pushed the coffee against the man's chest. Drink up. It would look strange if he didn't.

Almost as though the finger holes on that particular area of the glove were in fact void of any fingers.
Eyeing the coffee, he looked up at the visitor. His instructions had said nothing about the beverage, so he walked promptly over to his sink and poured it out. He then returned the empty cup to the gentleman, pushing it into his chest just as had been done to the Editor-in-Chief moments earlier.
See? All gone.
Now, was there anything else? He had new instructions he needed to attend to and urgently so.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Amur Neverwinter Fourth Year | ~ Rise and Rise Again, Until Lambs become Lions ~ There was no end to the amusement that Mathis got watching the man. Take the coffee, dump the coffee, return the empty cup. Amusing that a caged mind had so much sense. He doubted any of it was the original owner's.
With a smirk, he took the empty cup, giving the man a once over. The sight of the man's hand hand his lips curling into a scowl, trapping the words he so wished to say. Pathetic. Not a word. His eyes returned to meet Skeeter's once more. So utterly pathetic.
Not a single word.
Mathis let out a slow breath, his smirk fading and his expression falling neutral as he slipped around the man and left the office. The receptionist got a glance and a nod, but no goodbye or thanks. He had his own orders.
