| | Corridor to the Depths Behind one of the doors off the main hall is a corridor leading down to the vaults. They are made of rough hewn stone and are dimly lit, torches sit in iron brackets along the length of the corridor. The passage way slopes downwards and the stone floor has been worn smooth by centuries of use.
The corridor is long, it takes about ten minutes to reach the tracks at the bottom. When you reach the bottom, in the company of a Goblin, you will be helped into a cart and your journey down to your vault will begin, twisting and turning and dropping miles below the ground. ooc: your post will be deleted if you post here without being escorted by a Goblin. You must post in the Gringotts Main Hall and wait for a Gringotts Goblin to lead your character here.
Once you post here, you will be linked to your character's vault thread, which is specifically for you. When not in use, the vault thread will be moved back into our storage. |

Serena shivered as she followed the Goblin. Was it always this cold, she hadn't visited her vault for years.

The corridor was long. Accessing a vault was not for the impatient. In fact anyone who dared show too much impatience was quite likely to be delayed even further. For now though,Quizzit kept up a brisk walk in silence and when they finally reached the bottom of the corridor, he chose a cart and pointed to it. "Get in, Bijou will be right with you."
Turning on his heel, he gave the approaching goblin a polite head bob and handed her the key and small file before making his way back up the corridor. More customers you know.

Waddling her way out of a newly returned cart, Bijou shooed away the dazed occupants and accepted the items from Quizzit. She'd been hoping for a a break and a spot of tea but it seemed it would have to wait.Turning towards the cart, she hobbled inside and sat herself up front before addressing her. "Come on in. Mind yer limbs. Keep 'em inside the cart ye' know." It was common sense really, since Bijou could only assume that the girl liked having all her body parts intact.

Serena kept her limbs very close to her, mostly for safety's sake, but also because she was cold. She wondered when the cart would start to move. Last time she had been sick, hopefully this wouldn't happen again.

His soft soled shoes making only the lightest sound against the stone pathway, Quizzit walked ahead of the girl down the descending sloop. Now Quizzit was generally a goblin of the old ways but he wasn't going to lie, if board decided to modernize and perhaps make this way easier he probably wouldn't complain.
Maneuvering his way over the slippery last few steps, he shuffled forward quickly across the tracks not even bothering to turn and see if he was being followed.
With a little nimble hop that made him seem decades younger, Quizzit plopped down in the cart and turned to address the girl. " In you go. Mind your limbs."

Only waiting for long enough for the girl to sit herself down, Quizzit clicked his tongue impatiently. There was no gradual change in speed. No slowly speeding up. Gringotts' carts most usually only ran at one speed.
The cart jerked forward suddenly speeding forward to dip steeply in the first fall. Weaving and falling, the cart took them down into the belly of the vaults the force of the speed pushing against the skin of their faces as they approached their destination.

Bijou was grumbling under her breath as she exited a cart on the southernmost side of the tracks. It was what she did best, you see. Especially today. She was supposed to only work the early morning shift but conveniently Wimble decided to take a sick day leaving Bijou with a very long work day.
Waddling over to the tracks, Bijou waited for a second for a cart to whistle past. No more than a few seconds later, one zipped up almost as if on command. Reaching out, Bijou propped open the door with one wrinkled hand and peered towards the corridor. Spying a woman and her daughter obviously waiting for help, Bijou waved them over. "You there, into the cart."
How else did they expect to go to their vault after all. Quote:

Glad to see the girl seemed to be appropriately cautious, Bijou started the cart with an unrecognizable hand gesture. With a start, the cart raced forward the speed of which made an odd whistling sound in the air. Through it all, Bijou sat unmoving as the cart dipped and rose and teetered and whipped around close corners speeding deeper and deeper to her vault.

If she would just come in, they'd be on their way. Belle ducked and went into her vault, it was spacious and comforting to know that her savings were kept safe. She told the goblin "Thank you for bringing me here," then she went to get her gold and filled her sack for the year. As she got the gold, she told the goblin she was ready to go back. |

How else did they expect to go to their vault after all. This is just great, Ari thought. First, the very "friendly" goblin at the window, now this almost equally pleasant one telling them to get into the cart. Ari's mother said : 'Thank you. Here we go.' , and climbed in, followed by her daughter. The woman hoped Ari's first trip to Gringotts would be more enjoyable, but it didn't seem like a very good day for that.
Ariadne, however, didn't mind much. She was enthusiastic about travelling in a cart. ' Mum, this is just like the Muggle amusement park where uncle Tristan took me all those years ago.' the girl said cheerfully.

As soon as the girl sat herself down, the cart jerked forward reaching breakneck speeds in less than a second. Whistling forward, the cart weaved through turns and tunnels as it headed down into the depths. Finally reaching their destination, the goblin stepped nimbly out of the cart waddling over to the appropriate vault. Extending a finger along the door of Vault 506, Quizzit ran the talon like nail down the metal watching the enchantments melt away.
Stepping back, he gave the girl a small bow. "After you." Waiting patiently while the girl conducted her business, Quizzit found himself astonished at how fast she was done. With a jerky nod, he hopped back in the cart waiting to start it until she was safely inside.
With a loud rumble, the cart took off upwards. Careening uphill, the cart took the turns just as quickly as when it was descending even seeming to appear fall backwards a few times. Finally, they made their way out of the vaults and back to the corridor.
ooc: Since we didn't get to rp all the way to the vaults o.o you can just post here again exiting the cart. Quote:

Climbing into the cart behind her passengers, Bijou sat herself in the appropriate spot at the front. What was this? From the sound of it, this was the daughter's first trip to Gringotts.
One long ear twitching in hearing, Bijou almost smiled at the little girl's enthusiasm. She did so enjoy young 'uns and their love for the Gringotts carts. They at least appreciated the fast speed while the parents seemed to think the breakneck pace inconvenient. Why, she never understood. You would think they'd appreciate getting to their valuables faster. But no! It was always, I feel sick, Can't you slow this thing to a reasonable pace, and who could forget Don't you know who I am? I could have you sent to Azkaban for this torture! Yes, older wizards and witches seemed to be a little testy. Which was why she liked children.
With a little cough to get their attention, her tone only stern rather than rude she ran through the standard warnings. "Please mind yer limbs. Keep 'em in the cart at all times and remember to hold on to yer belongings."
Because it was going to be a bumpy ride!
Smiling now, Bijou snapped her fingers expertly. With a jolt, the cart reversed the tiniest fraction before slingshotting forward at a speed that put brooms to shame, handling the sharp curves and dips at times with only half of the number of wheels. Teetering on high rises and whipping around with last minute change in directions, the cart whistled on, sloping downwards at times in an almost complete 90 degree fall only to pull out just before the occupants would splatter on the tracks; At which point Bijou might have even let out a small laugh. Might have.
The ride was long and winding at one point even rounding a curve where a sharp fiery flash of light was followed by an echoing beastly roar that rocked the cart on its tracks. Eventually though, the cart did begin to slow down steadily as they neared their destination.

Small talk, really? " First name. Quizzit Whizspigot." he answered reluctantly since odds were if he didn't answer the boy, he would just keep talking. Best to nip it in the bud.
Supposed to be respectful. Giving a little huff, Quizzit led the way to the tracks. Of course, he was supposed to be respectful. He was probably 12 times the boy's age so that meant Quizzit was an elder.
But then conversation was cut short by the whizzing of the carts coming to and fro. Signalling to an empty cart, he pointed to it. "Hop into the cart, lad. A goblin will be right with you to take you to your vault." Without waiting for a response, he turned on his heel and went back up to his desk.
No more than a few minutes later, light footsteps announced the arrival of another goblin. This time a female with a heavy lidded look and grandmotherly hair. Spying the boy in the cart, she climbed in the front and gave him a withering glance before glancing down at her ledger. Yes, Quizzit had described him accurately. Double checking the vault number, Bijou reached to pull the cart lever. "Please keeps your arms and legs inside the cart at all times as Gringotts is not liable for any accidents or fatalities."
Turning back towards the front staring straight ahead to the tracks, she clenched her wrinkled fingers around the lever and pulled. It took off again as usual, one speed and one speed only, and raced around the winding, dipping track heading straight to the second level of vaults.

Goblins are always on the rush, are they?! Probably they have a lot of customers right now since a new term will start at hogwarts. She looked around the corridors as they rode the cart.

Alright, so he did sneak quite a few peeks at the girls vault but only because Sturnik would want to know if there were any goblin made artifacts being improperly stored.
But that apparently wasn't the case this time around. Nodding his head when she announced she was done, Quizzit stepped forward twirling his finger in intriguing intricate figures over the lock. With a satisfied grunt, he hobbled back to the cart taking up his place up front. He'd been about to pull the lever when her question sunk in.
Turning his waist so he could peer at her, he gave what was probably a gleeful smile. "Yes, there's always those with....slow reflexes. Who....don't quite get out in time." Maybe he said that just a bit too ominously, but he was goblin for heavens sake. A little ominous-ness was allowed.
Not waiting for a reply, Quizzit pulled up the lever. With a loud grinding sound the wheels reversed themsevles, the wider wheels now towards the front. That was all the warning, because almost immediately after the cart took off again as usual, one speed and one speed only, as it raced up the winding, dipping track until they were back at the corridor to the depths. "Woah..." she had listened to the goblins answer and was about to reply when the cart had shot off. Gripping to the side of the cart with one hand, and her bag with the other, she felt the stomache churn and the wind in her face. 'Almost there, almost there...' she kept telling herself.
Finally they were back at the corridor and Emily almost jumped out of the cart. Oh sweet ground! At least she'd had time to mull over the goblins answer. He had seemed awfully happy about the idea. That was kindda scary...
She put her bag on her back then decided it was to heavy and carried it between her two hands. "I don't know how you can ride those everyday..." She felt sick from just riding on them once! Goblins must just be tuffer than wizards. |

Watching it whistle away, he turned towards the young girl. "I hope your visit was satisfactory. Is there anything else you might need help with today?" Gringotts related business only of course, since Quizzit had no intention of being a bag boy. Speaking of which...
Reaching into his vest pocket, Quizzit removed a small velvet pouch. With a quick snap of his wrist, he snapped out the bag watching it balloon out to display the bank stamp emblazoned on the side. "I imagine you might be needing one of these..." Holding it open for the girl, he gestured down to it to imply that she should deposit her bag inside this one. "A complimentary bank currency satchel charmed to reduce the weight and size of your withdrawals and retain a measure of secrecy. The charm will only last for a little over a day but I imagine it might be of service." Pulling the drawstring, the bag automatically reduced in size. Quote:

Hogwarts RPG Name: Sapphire Wulfweardsweorth Third Year | ♥ Gryffindor ♥ ★ Ravenclaw ★ Tayla held her mother Nicole's hand as they followed the goblin to the carts. "Mum..." Tayla began, curious once again. "Do goblins ever smile? Have you ever seen one smile?" "I dunno..." Nicole sighed. "I don't think I've ever...I told you to stop asking." "No you didn't," Tayla replied. "Tayla!" "But you didn't..." Tayla mumbled stubbornly. "You told me to stop staring." "Excuse me?" Nicole said to the goblin. "How long will it take to get to vault 416?" |

Gringotts related business only of course, since Quizzit had no intention of being a bag boy.
Woah! He had smiled! That was something. Mabye it was close to quitting time? "Oh yes. I mean no. I mean, no nothing else thank you..." Merlin she sounded stupid. Just keep your mouth shut and no-one gets embarressed as her mother used to say.
She dropped her bag next to her as she watched the Gobin produce the pouch. It was heavy and she hadn't been looking forward to carrying it, it was like he had read her mind! Or just noticed how weak she was... "That would be great! Thanks!" She quickly picked up her bag and dropped it in the one the goblin was holding. That would be so helpful!
Watching it shrink again she reached and took the pouch. It was so much lighter! She loved magic. "Thanks a lot for your help!" Did she have to tip him now or something? |

Walking ahead of the small family, Quizzit let out a sigh. Yes, goblins did smile but not often and usually not on busy days. His ears pricked up at the question directed at him. "The cart ride is a little over an hour, ma'am."
Not really all that long in comparison for deeper vaults but it was the price to pay for top notch security. Waddling down the sloping pathway, Quizzit sighed in relief when it opened up into the tracks and he saw Bijou. Giving her a business like nod to bring her over, he handed her his ledger and their key. "Bijou if you would be so kind as to escort these people to vault 416."
Giving them a slight bow, he turned around heading back towards his teller window.
Accepting the items, Bijou gave the woman and her daughter a stern look before directing them to the tracks. Bringing up her wrinkled hands to her lips, she let out a shrill whistle. Within a matter of seconds, a cart rumbled its way from somewhere in the darkness and came to halt before them. "Mind your limbs, keep 'em all inside. No exceptions." She said with a pointed look to the young one. She didn't want to lose any appendages now did she?
Sitting up front and waiting for them to climb in, Bijou gave a quick snap of her fingers and off they went. From 0 to 120 in no time at all, the cart whizzed forward. Taking dips that almost reached 90 degrees and pulling out at just the right second, the cart barreled down the tracks beginning the long ride. Quote:

Pointing towards the corridor that lead back up to the main hall, Quizzit stepped forward. "If that's all, then allow me to escort you to the main hall where you can be free to go on about your day." She probably had shopping to do after all.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Ariadne Lydia Marchbanks Fifth Year | Superfan of: Minerva, Severus, Albus, Hermione <3 Travelling/ History geek/ TV show addict 'Wow! That was amazing, thank you!' the tiny girl said to the goblin, with a huge smile on her face. Gringotts impressed her highly. From protective spells and security measures, to entering her family vault for the first time, to the enormous Main Hall, everything reflected sheer grandeour. But the little one's favourite was still the cart ride.
The mother and daughter stepped out of the cart and arranged their clothes. Ava felt a little numb after sitting for so long. 'Thank you, we're returning to the Main Hall now, right?' she addressed the goblin.

Leading the way back up the corridor, Bijou waddled along back up to the main hall. "Thank you for using Gringotts for all your banking needs. Have a nice day and please come again."

Settling back against the stone passageway, she reached up hand to pat down her hair around her ears. It was a occupational hazard that her hair was always wisping all over the place. One couldn't really expect a bun to stay completely intact when whizzing at high speed.
Giving a little nod as the woman and her daughter exited their vault, Bijou gestured towards the cart. "I'll be just a moment."
Standing before the door, she pulled it shut with a loud echoing slam. The door wasn't the lightest thing in the world, you see. Leaning forward with her palm against the metal, Bijou muttered a few words under her breath, the door appearing to grow hazy with each syllable. Slowly the key hole disappeared and with a series of sounds the locks all fell into place.
Finally hopping back into the cart, Bijou turned once to make sure they were properly situated before pulling the lever to reverse the cart. "Up we go."
Well at least she didn't have to tell him to not dawdle. He seemed to not be in the lingering mood. Waiting by the cart patiently, Bijou drummed her fingers against the cold metal. Just a habit you see, the noise keeps away things that would otherwise make themselves present in the dark.
Ears perking up at the boy's voice, Bijou looked up. "That would be me child. I can simply add that to the closing enchantments."
Closing the vault door, she moved her hands in complicated motions over the metal. Many a click and grind were heard as it was put on lock down, the keyhole disappearing and with a few more motions the door appeared to glow from within. "There all done."
Waving him over to the cart, she sat ready to take them back up towards the surface. Giving the goblin a smile "Thank you," jumping back in to the cart legs braced so he would not slide side to side on the return trip. With a jolt the cart was off. "You are very professional in your job,I know a lot of bussiness owners thst could learn loads for you" turning around just in time to see a very low beam only to miss in by inches and the cart veers rightand drops a good 200ft "YiiiiiiiPPPPPPEEEEEE"clamping both hand over his mouth,This was suppose to be bussiness not a joy ride.Seeing the light of the upper levels pale glow as he reached the top.As the cart slows to a stop,he turns to her " sorry bout the yiiipppee I kind of get swept up in the moment some times"
