Bowling Lanes One, Two, Three and Four Thank you to Pixie for the graphics.
After you have been directed here from the Shrunken Head Counter (if you haven't been there yet, make sure to go there RIGHT NOW before anyone sees you) you find yourself at one of the four bowling lanes in this section of the shop; either One, Two, Three or Four. Please try not to disturb any of the other players while you make your way over to your bowling lane.
As you take a closer look at the bowling balls you realize they are a bit...unusual. They don't look like normal bowling balls and if you pick one of them up, it is very likely that you're going to get screamed at. Please, don't drop them, the Shrunken Heads don't like to face plant.
Even though their heads look a little squashed already.
Anyway, if you use them as bowling balls - and you don't really have a choice - you better not miss the bowling pins at the end of the lane or else you're going to be hearing about it for a while. And very loudly too. And probably not in a very nice way either. Which is going to be happening A LOT since the bowling pins have a tendency to suddenly disappear, move or reappear when you least want them to.
Bowling Lane One:Felixir & littledhampir Bowling Lane Two: Bowling Lane Three:Birchwoodmom Bowling Lane Four:
OOC: Please do NOT post your character in this thread unless you've been instructed to do so after posting at the Shrunken Head Counter or otherwise been given permission by the shopkeeper (Felixir). If you do, there will be consequences, both IC and for serial offenders even OOC. The shrunken heads which serve as bowling balls are not going to be RPed by anyone, so feel free to post them shouting about and whatnot. But make sure not to break any Site Rules - because not even Shrunken Heads are allowed to break those. Also, as always, do NOT RP for the shopkeeper (Felixir).

Bowling was THE closest thing to actual sports available in Diagon Alley, so naturally Bel was all about it, even if it was with heads instead of bowling balls. And she was going to ignore that look, thanks, Cam. No frowns here today! It was summer, there were NO INFERI HERE, and it was SUMMER! She grinned at him encouragingly and looked around curiously. Pretty packed, not many options. Bel nodded at the suggestion about going over to that one guy. Who was he? Didn't look familiar to her, but that wasn't much of a barrier for the Australian girl. She followed Cam over there.
"I've never bowled with heads before. Crazy! Do they all get that chatty?? Oi, mate, do you mind if we join ya?" No harm asking, easier than just trying to guess or whatever, right?

Cam was quite sure he'd never been bowling before. Was that something people did? But he was in a "everything once" kind of mood so here they were. This was going to be fun, right? Right? Had to enjoy London as long as he was still here. He was determined not to let the uncertainty of where he was going to go to school next term taint his summer.
Apparently this was THE place to go, though, seeing as all of the lanes were currently occupied.
Glancing at Bel, he frowned slightly but then reminded himself that he'd promised himself that was going to have a good time. Alright. "Maybe over there...?" That one guy appeared to be by himself after all. Slowly walking over to him, Cam tried to figure out if he was in fact alone here or if his friends had just all gone to the toilet or to get some drinks or something.

Oh the shrunken heads were chatty, alright - which is why Zachary's fingers dug into their heads harder than it was necessary - which in turn shut them up enough for him to take aim and get a strike on his first try.
Smirking, the fifteen year old stood up and was about to pick up another when someone walked over - giving her a look over, he smiled politely and gestured at the heads, "Be my guest" he said before looking over the guy with her, "Zachary" he introduced himself and offered his hand for him to shake - not making any judgments yet.

Yeah, yeah, he was going to have an enjoyable day. It was all good.
Giving the guy a polite smile when Bel asked him about joining his lane, Cam nudged his friend and grinned at her. See? He was having a good time. "Thanks." Oh, this guy had manners. He highly appreciated that too. Good choice they'd made. "Nice to meet you. I'm Cameron." He stepped a little closer and shook the boy's hand. "This is Bel." Now, did any of them really know how to bowl?

Because he didn't.
Okay BUT were you supposed to swing them by the hair? Or were their mouths and their nostrils supposed to be like the holes in a regular bowling ball? Because that was gross and a little creepy.
(Though she imagined it WOULD probably shut them up for a bit if that was something anyone felt was necessary)
(Actually though, shrunken heads maybe had some interesting things to say, she wasn't sure and was at least a little curious about any observations they might make)
She was all cheery grins at the intros -though honestly, why they felt the need to be so proper was beyond her- and she dropped her bag down by one of the chairs. She was looking forward to this, and pretty happy that they had found someone else to play with because the more the merrier, right?
"Its nice to meet ya, Zachary-- do ya go by Zach orrrr are you one of those full name people?" Because that would be disappointing. Who had the time for multiple syllables, ya know? Even as she was talking, Bel was going over to grab one of the heads, opting for the grip on the hair and giving it an experimental swing.
Seemed easy enough!

Whenever he met new people, there was always this moment he couldn't really be himself. Too busy gauging them to know how much of himself he could be in front of them in the first place.
They seemed friendly though, the girl more so than the guy. "Cameron," he repeated, squinting his eyes a little, "I feel like I know you from somewhere" he added - which was a lie really, but it was a habit - one that often helped him break the awkward small talk bit.
Turning his head toward the girl, he grinned back, "Zac is just fine" he said, before adding: "try to be good, they can be quiet insulting"

After watching her for a moment - a little amused, to be honest, because it DID look quite funny, her holding that shrunken head - Cam looked back at Zachary. Zac. "Do you?" He tilted his head a little, eying the boy curiously for a few seconds. He didn't look familiar to him? "Do you go to Hogwarts?" He was pretty sure he hadn't in fact seen him around there but there were always the ones you just...didn't notice until you did.

Maybe he was one of those.
"You probably do." Bel interjected with a loyal grin in Cam's direction. "Cam plays Quidditch for the Scotland under seventeens, so he's basically semi-professional." So she was proud of him, sue her.
At the question of if he went to Hogwarts, Bel shook her head, pretty SURE that wasn't the case. "Yeah nahhh we'd have seen him before." She drawled. At least, she was pretty sure that she would have. Cam sometimes wasn't the most observant, but she included him in that 'we' out of loyalty. She looked at Zac and grinned. Yeah nah she was pretty sure she'd not seen him. He didn't have that kind of forgettable face at least.
"Try to be good? Maaaate. I'm a natural athlete." Humble too, see? She waggled her eyebrows at him and at Cam as well. Yeah, were they ready for her? And the head in her hands, was IT ready? Because she was eyeing up the pins and, after a slight wiggle of her toes in her bowling shoes, she went for a run up, swung the shrunken head around by its ponytail, and sent it spinning up the lane and crashing into the pins, a cacophony of sound echoing as they all fell over.
YASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS.
She turned around with her hands out. Come on boys, where were her high fives?

Tilting his head just a little, he eyed Cameron back, "maybe you have that face? but no - I go -- went to Durmstrang, transferring to Hogwarts this coming year" he informed, before allowing himself to look at Bel when she spoke.
Quidditch? He couldn't help but perk up a little at the mention, "Yeah? definitely why I know your face then" what a coincidence.

"Do you play Quidditch too then?" he asked as she took aim - absorbing alll the information at the moment - because this meant he will probably get to play with them when he gets to Hogwarts - and it was always good to know your teammates as well as possible opponents.
When she took hit the strike, he offered up his hand for a high five and gave her nod, with a small smirk, "Not bad" - he would definitely enjoy playing with her. Definitely.
And then his eyes were at the boy again, "Cameron, your turn."

Cam was about to give a noncommittal reply to Zac's 'one of those faces' comment when Bel jumped in. He WAS basically a semi-professional, wasn't he? That sounded pretty cool, to be honest. Smiling at his friend, he briefly forgot just WHY she'd said what she said. That is, until the other boy spoke again. Right. He was still here, and he'd asked.
And he was apparently interested in Quidditch. "She does." HIS turn to play the proud-friend role for Bel. "She's the Hufflepuff Quidditch Captain in fact." Heh. "What about you? Do you play?" Zac did seem awfully interested after all. Hopefully he was going to try out for the teams, then. If he was any good, that is. Or at least, if he was a Slytherin. He could play for the other teams if he wasn't that good. Cam wouldn't mind.
Also, Bel was REALLY good at bowling ????????
Giving her a high five in passing, Cam walked over to the bowling balls. Ugh. Right. So she'd held it by the hair? He eyed the heads for a moment, trying to pick out the nicest one. At least that one hadn't snapped at him when he'd reached out? Yeah? That seemed like a good choice. Carefully grabbing the shrunken head by the hair - just like he'd seen Bel do - Cam stepped forward and tried to aim....
....but the shrunken head was YELLING at him which was distracting to say the least so he let go too early (or too late) and sent the head right into the side of the lane. Which, naturally, made the shrunken head yell even more insults at him. Lovely.
