| | Bowling Lanes 1-4 Bowling Lanes One, Two, Three and Four Thank you to Pixie for the graphics. After you have been directed here from the Shrunken Head Counter (if you haven't been there yet, make sure to go there RIGHT NOW before anyone sees you) you find yourself at one of the four bowling lanes in this section of the shop; either One, Two, Three or Four. Please try not to disturb any of the other players while you make your way over to your bowling lane.
As you take a closer look at the bowling balls you realize they are a bit...unusual. They don't look like normal bowling balls and if you pick one of them up, it is very likely that you're going to get screamed at. Please, don't drop them, the Shrunken Heads don't like to face plant.
Even though their heads look a little squashed already.
Anyway, if you use them as bowling balls - and you don't really have a choice - you better not miss the bowling pins at the end of the lane or else you're going to be hearing about it for a while. And very loudly too. And probably not in a very nice way either. Which is going to be happening A LOT since the bowling pins have a tendency to suddenly disappear, move or reappear when you least want them to.
Bowling Lane One: Felixir & littledhampir Bowling Lane Two: Bowling Lane Three: Birchwoodmom Bowling Lane Four: OOC: Please do NOT post your character in this thread unless you've been instructed to do so after posting at the Shrunken Head Counter or otherwise been given permission by the shopkeeper (Felixir). If you do, there will be consequences, both IC and for serial offenders even OOC. The shrunken heads which serve as bowling balls are not going to be RPed by anyone, so feel free to post them shouting about and whatnot. But make sure not to break any Site Rules - because not even Shrunken Heads are allowed to break those. Also, as always, do NOT RP for the shopkeeper (Felixir). |

| Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... Best for last? He eyed his girlfriend. Clearly she didn't know who she was talking to. This was Bart, Bartman, he was the best at everything. Why didn't people know that by now. HA!
Finding his own bowling ball he tried a few first to find the perfect one. 14 pound ball seemed legit, so he took that one and went back to the group. "You mean you want to get pointers from the best going first." He grinned at the group.
Making his way to the front he looked at the pins. He could so do this. Taking a few steps and letting go, he cut the ball to the right a little two far and got down four pins. UGH, he wanted a strike stupid ball. "I'll so smash those pins this time." Taking his ball once more he sent it down the alley. Three pins going down this time. Well boo to this bowling game already.

| Granddaddy Ravenclaw | | Jermione Granger Emrys waited to fuss with the rental shoes until he could get settled at the lane. Tell the shrunken heads who's boss. Right. He sighed a bit, kicking his shoes off and working a quick scourgify of his own on the rentals. It wasn't that he didn't trust the alley to have cleaned their shoes... no. It was. Who knew what had been done to or with this shoes. Slipping his wand back into his pocket, Emrys looked over to Artemis. "So, uh, have you been here before?" He stepped into the rentals and did them up as he spoke, nerves still pretty apparent. He would be grateful when they started the game... something to do while they talked might help.
He hoped.

He hoped. Artemis plopped down at the seat in their lane and started changing her shoes. She had no concern with who wore these before or anything like that because she just had to assume that this bowling alley would clean them. So whatever. She would live.
"A few times.. you?" She wasn't sure he was the bowling type, but maybe he was. He seemed more like he was the type who liked to read... Maybe he'd read to HER. Was that too forward of a thought? But he seemed like he would have a nice reading voice.. maybe he gave all the characters different voices too?
She stood up. "I always thought bowling shoes looked cooler than normal shoes, they're different colors."

She stood up. "I always thought bowling shoes looked cooler than normal shoes, they're different colors." Emrys shook his head. "Not here, no." He stood, looking over to the rack of heads to use, hand idly rubbing at the back of his neck. He did turn back to her, though, as he spoke. "Muggle bowling though, yeah." But not since they'd stopped spending holidays with their grandparents. "It's... been a few years."
He looked down at her feet when she mentioned the shoes. Different colors was a true enough statement, but Emrys wasn't exactly an arbiter of cool. "There was a kid in my muggle school who wore them all the time," he said, still looking at the shoes and shrugging. "If you really liked them, you could always just get a pair and wear them like regular shoes..." or something.
Looking up, he gestured to the lane. "You want to go first?"

She said jokingly because she wasn't an amazing bowler or anything, she even added a little wink to the end of it.
Hmm This was a good idea..getting her own. "You're smart, i wonder if they have those online." Art would make a mental note to check those out when she got home. She remembered when Connor introduced her to the internet. That was an experience. "Yeah, sure!" She rolled her bowl and knocked down five of the pins, but it was whatever, this was just for fun. She didn't wanna get super competitive on a first date.
"So, Emrys, what do you do?" This was always an important question, did he do something he liked and cared about?

"So, Emrys, what do you do?" This was always an important question, did he do something he liked and cared about? Emrys chuckled a bit at the joking and the wink. "That's kind of you," he responded, as the chuckle subsided. Emrys didn't care too much for how he fared, so long as it wasn't embarrassingly poorly.
He shrugged. "I suppose they must," he offered, though he was not sure himself. Perhaps he would check when he returned home and send her the information. If that wasn't weird. Maybe that was weird. It was probably weird. Emrys was still puzzling, a little, on the question of the weirdness of looking up bowling shoes on his father's computer as she took her turn.
Stepping up to the rack of balls, Emrys tried to pick one that would perhaps not scream or taunt too loudly. He paused a moment, and turned to Artemis at her question. "I... work as a personal assistant," he offered, trying not to state it so dismissively, remembering his conversation with Louisa earlier that summer. "Errands. Research. That sort of thing. What about you?"

He was nice and considerate so far and he didn't seem to expect anything from her.
Art took a seat while he took his turn, she decided to ignore the ball's insults. She decided to tell him the opposite of everything the ball said, it was a little silly but whatever.. Maybe she was a little silly sometimes. "What kind of research?" Artemis was a curious girl.. "Me? I just finished Uni, i'm waiting for the ministry to open. I'm hoping to be an Auror." She smiled because it was her dream since she was a little girl.

She smiled because it was her dream since she was a little girl. This wasn't so bad. Emrys' nerves were starting to settle the longer they were there, though still just the slightest bit apparent in the way he continued to hesitate before he spoke. It certainly didn't help that he thought she was quite pretty, especially when she smiled. Actually bowling was a welcome distraction.
He smiled to himself, his back to her, preferring to listen to her silly responses. It was.. kinda cute. Swinging his ball down the lane, he only managed to knock down six pins. "Historical, mostly," he responded. "My employer has me preview potential sources, see if they're worth his time." Between dry cleaning runs and grocery trips. "He's pretty particular."
But an auror? Wow. Even though it was only a hope for her at this point, Emrys still found it incredibly impressive. "Best of luck with that," he said sincerely, sitting now that his turn was over. "That kind of work can be... dangerous, no?" Emrys didn't know much about what aurors did on the day to day... only what made the papers. Or the history books.

"You're a Scruffy Looking Nerf Herder!" She said and rolled a strike, squealing and tossing her hands into the air. "YESSSSS" The blonde scampered back over to Emrys and plopped down.
"So... you must be pretty good at what you do then? That made her a bit impressed. Anyone who worked for someone in particular must know what they're doing. "Thanks, it's pretty dangerous at times... Well, it can be from what i've read. But between Uni and the MMA classes I've been taking should help." She grinned at him, It was his turn again.

Emrys chuckled in his seat as Artemis insulted the ball. That was certainly one way to deal with the shrunken head's sass and it amused him. The chuckle only continued as she squealed in celebration and Emrys offered a soft clap as she headed back to sit. "I... suppose," he responded, having never really considered it that way before. His employer was quite particular and Emrys had been there over a year. "Requires patience mostly, I think." Otherwise, it would be crazy making. He listened to her, nodding, before he stood to take his turn. "Oh, just shut it," he said to the ball as it was about to speak again. Taking his turn, pausing a moment to consider angles, 9 pins fell, with the 10th wobbling before refusing to topple.
Sitting once more, he looked over. "So... we talked work. What.. do you do for fun?"

He even told the thing to shut it, which made her giggle a little.
For fun.. "Well, for fun i like really terrible movies and video games..I just started boxing too" Which she found to be plenty of fun. Hitting things was always fun. "What do you do for fun?" She should have been taking her turn, but she wanted to hear what he had to say.

She should have been taking her turn, but she wanted to hear what he had to say. Oh, hey, she was still sitting. So an actual conversation, then, instead of talking while bowling. Emrys adjusted his glasses, reminding himself that he should probably make eye contact every so often, and nodded as he listened. Boxing. There was this little voice in the back of Emrys' head pointing out that this was a woman who could absolutely beat him up. There wasn't any fear or hesitation with it, just a plain analytical assessment that she could kick his butt if she wanted to.
Terrible movies, though, drew a smile. "Movies, as well, especially older muggle ones" he replied. There was that thing he did during movies though, that drove Amelia up a wall, pointing out how the central plot points would be different with magic or with current muggle technologies. Probably best not to mention that particular quirk. "And I read a fair bit."

Good, she liked this comfortable version of him, or at least this less nervous version. So yeah..
"What's your favorite movie?" Personally she liked ones with lots of fight scenes and cheesy lines. They were always so lame and awesome all at the same time. Car chases too. "What do you like to read about?"

Though, really, it was probably only a matter of time.
Because what if she thought his favorite movie was ridiculous? Or that what he read was pretentious? Or if he rambled. Or maybe if he took too long to actually answer which was what he seemed to be doing now. "My favorite movie? Wow, um.." this required some thought. He enjoyed muggle science fiction and fantasy, superhero movies, those sorts of things. But also old old muggle classics like Citizen Kane. "I guess it depends on my mood, but I rewatch Inception a lot?" Was it or wasn't it a dream? The question of books was easier. "For books, I read almost anything, but I really enjoy muggle fiction where magic plays a big role. I think it's interesting to see how they conceptualize magic and what rules they create and how that does or doesn't correspond to actual magic... and I'm rambling. I'm sorry.

Art waited for him to answer what seemed like a really tough question apparently. She knew her own favoirites were hard to pick out. So this was acceptable.
"I know, worst question ever right next to 'Favorite song'." She giggled a little to herself and listened. "Give me a top five?" She asked and then he said Inception. "See.. I like Inception but i have an issue with Christopher Nolan movies, He likes to over-complicate a very simple story. You know, besides Batman." She hoped that didn't offend him since he liked that movie. She wasn't trying to down his opinion. But movie debates were fun, right? She shook her head. "No, you're right. That's always cool. I never noticed it until my cousin, Connor pointed that out to me." She nodded and was willing to let him ramble more.

I never noticed it until my cousin, Connor pointed that out to me." She nodded and was willing to let him ramble more. Top five probably wouldn't have been much easier, because that opened it up to all sorts of criteria. Top five favorites to watch? Top five movies that stuck with you? Some mix? That list could shift even more than just the single top spot. But she had an opinion about Inception and so the top five would wait for later...Emrys pursed his lips a bit in thought, nodding slightly. "I.. suppose you could say that." He tried to think through the film on the spot, but gave up on that rather quickly. "We should watch it sometime and you can point out what you mean."
The words were out of his mouth before he'd even realized he'd said them and his eyes widened a little and his mouth went dry. Had he just accidentally proposed a second date? At home? "I.. I'm mean.. if you wanted to that is...." Merlin. What else had they been talking about? Books? Her cousin? "Connor... he's the cousin that conspired with my sister to set all this up, yeah? He, uh, a big reader?" What. even.
Sighing, Emrys looked down the lane. "I, uh, think it's your turn."

| Haddie! Otter This World ♡ Catpurrccino ♡ Slotherin ♡ Pandamonium "Thank you," Hady replied once more to Caspar before she turned to face her friend. "Alright lets go have some fun." That's what this day was all about really, having a good time with her friend.
Making way for Lane one as they were instructed Hady set her shoes down under one of the chairs. "Would you like to go first?" She had been here before with Lux so she knew how the game worked. The screaming shrunken heads and the bowling pins that moved or disappeared added a really fun twist to the muggle way of playing. "Have you ever been here before?" If not the younger Haddie was in for a surprising treat.

Oliver was calling this a date, even if it wasn't the most luxurious place in the world. It kind of amused him though, the whole idea of bowling with shrunken heads. So this would be an entertaining date, in his opinion. He'd wanted to try something new. And as long as he was spending time with Dragomir he would be happy no matter where they were.
Was that too cheesy?
After paying and doing the required things at the counter, he made his way to their alley. He sat, taking off his own shoes so he could put on the bowling shoes. As he did, he turned to his boyfriend. "Have you ever been bowling before?" |

"No, never. I've read things here and there about how muggles play-" Play? Do? What was the right verb for bowling? Dragomir's English was practically perfect, if he did say so himself, but sometimes the words still felt awkward even as he spoke them. Times like that he had to consciously stop himself from slipping into the far-more-comfortable Bulgarian. "-but I've never done it myself." He turned his attention to his feet, now in the bowling shoes, and started lacing them up before looking up to grin at Oliver. "First time for everything, right?"

He turned his attention to his feet, now in the bowling shoes, and started lacing them up before looking up to grin at Oliver. "First time for everything, right?" Oliver really hoped that his feet didn't smell. Nah, he'd showered that morning so they should be fine. Though he was sure these bowling shoes probably weren't the best smelling footwear he'd ever put on. Oh well, it would be fine. "I don't think this is quite how the muggles do it." Olly grinned over at his boyfriend as he got his shoes off and started lacing up the bowling ones. "I've never done it either, so I guess we'll both be learning. I can't imagine either of us are going to be very good at it." He laughed a bit. Maybe this hadn't been the best idea. Though a night of bad bowling might be entertaining in its own way. "Unless you have some sort of natural bowling talent."
By that point Oliver's shoes were all the way laced up so he got to his feet. He turned back and offered his hand to Dragomir to help pull him to his feet. No, it was not just an excuse to take his hand. Definitely not. Except yes, that's exactly what it was.

| Lovely™ | Captain Hurted | Ariana's Bane | Resident Antagonist | Unparalleled Delight "Agreed. Something tells me they don't have bowling balls that yell at them," Dragomir replied with a grin still plastered across his face. He was joking, sure, but also fairly certain it was true. He'd never actually taken Muggle Studies at school - his father had always made those decisions for him, and Drago had learned early on that it was best not to argue - but he was into muggle literature and had picked up enough general information about them to know that they didn't make a habit of incorporating foul-mouthed shrunken heads into their leisure activities. Or have vanishing bowling pins. "It'll be fun!" Okay. Calm down. Dial it back, Petrov. "I bet the more terrible we turn out, the more fun it will be." Also. You know. The company. That was fun too, and also great. Being here with him. Oliver. Boyfriend. Boyfriend.
The novelty still hadn't worn off. Dragomir doubted it ever would.
As for possible natural bowling talent? "I doubt it. You should have seen me trying out archery." It had been... laughable, simply put. Sure, archery was a different skill set from bowling, but Dragomir felt that things were likely to head in the same direction. The only thing he was any good at that involved athleticism and skill was dancing, and even those weren't natural skills. It took a lot of work.
Shoes on, laces tied, and feet at an appropriate level of comfort, Dragomir was ready get started. He smiled to himself - couldn't help it, it was hard not to - at the sight of Oliver's hand, and oF COURSE he took hold of it. Any excuse.
After getting to his feet, Dragomir led the both of them towards the shrunken heads which served as bowling balls. "I wonder what the method is for choosing the best ones?" he mused aloud, not really expecting an answer. He let go of Oliver's hand and picked up one of the heads, which instantly let out an unintelligible shriek. "Merlin."

| not throwing away my shot | Slytherpuff | roll for initiative | woof you ❤ "Archery?" Oliver grinned. "I would probably be terrible at that, which means I probably just shouldn't ever attempt it. Being bad at archery could be pretty bad." People should only wield sharp, pointy things if they really knew how to wield it. Bowling wasn't quite so dangerous and couldn't be messed up as badly. Though there were quite heavy balls, or heads in this case. He was fairly confident in his ability to at least get the ball on the lane. It was the knocking down the pins that may or may not actually happen.
Oliver smiled when Dragomir took his hand. He did actually help him to his feet, though he mostly just liked holding his hand. He followed him over to where the balls - er, heads - were and regarded them, a bit nervous to actually pick one up. Oliver frowned slightly when Dragomir let go of his hand, but them remembered that it would be sort of hard to hold one of these heads with only one hand so it was fine.
Oliver didn't take one of the heads for himself yet. "Do they weigh differently?" That's how to choose regular bowling balls, wasn't it? By weight? He waited, hovering behind Dragomir, as his boyfriend picked one up. And it promptly started shrieking. For a beat, Oliver didn't react. And then he started laughing. He couldn't help it, and he couldn't stop. It wasn't even really that funny but he just kept laughing.

Hogwarts RPG Name: Kassandra Sutton Graduated | | Ravenpuff | Part Ninja | Boat Rocker | Exhausted Pigeon | His mind was reeling from what he had just done. All those months of planning had gone out the window in the end and he simply reacted. He wasn’t sure if he’d fully get away with it, but there wasn’t anyone left to dispute his claim.
West walked to his lane, shoes in hand and sat down a moment to even his breathing. “Calm thoughts. Calm thoughts.” he whispered to himself as he slowly changed into the bowling shoes. The thump thump crash of the balls rolling down the lanes and into the pins was oddly soothing. He stood, searched the nearby balls for a good fit, and headed back to his lane to start.
Pushing the past few days events aside, he focused solely on his game, bowling strike after strike. His mind was free from the world as he bowled. There was no yesterday or tomorrow, only the lane and his ball.

| Lisa & Tegan <3 *sappysapper* MAJNOO, YO! Was it pathetic to go bowling alone? Eh, he didn't care. Being alone never bothered him anyway.
So Zac made his way to bowling lane three and eyed the pins at the end of the lane. Gradually he reminded himself of a few unpleasant things to motivate himself. It was a trick he had been using for a while, channeling all of his ugly feelings into a sport always brought him a certain kind of relief.
Bending down to pick one of the shrunken heads, he rolled his eyes at it's unnecessary speech and stepped forward to take aim.

Bending down to pick one of the shrunken heads, he rolled his eyes at it's unnecessary speech and stepped forward to take aim. Cam was quite sure he'd never been bowling before. Was that something people did? But he was in a "everything once" kind of mood so here they were. This was going to be fun, right? Right? Had to enjoy London as long as he was still here. He was determined not to let the uncertainty of where he was going to go to school next term taint his summer.
Apparently this was THE place to go, though, seeing as all of the lanes were currently occupied.
Glancing at Bel, he frowned slightly but then reminded himself that he'd promised himself that was going to have a good time. Alright. "Maybe over there...?" That one guy appeared to be by himself after all. Slowly walking over to him, Cam tried to figure out if he was in fact alone here or if his friends had just all gone to the toilet or to get some drinks or something. |
