On the other side of the float, cast in darkness, is a glass aquarium. In an effort to lighten the mood, a dark Puffskein was placed inside instead of a hairy shriveled heart.

In the front corner, seemingly out of place, sits someone with a bucket of gold coins. Occasionally he'll throw these coins out to the crowd watching the parade. On closer inspection, however, they are not gold coins, but foil wrapped homemade chocolate coins. One might question why this man, obviously not part of the story, is seated on the float, but the chocolate is meant to distract from that.
Ziva was ready to go home. Her feet were hurting and her back was starting to ache, not mention how ridiculous she felt in her costume as a queen. She was happy though at how excited Heidi was about everything, especially the parade. For the first time in months, Heidi was actually quiet while she watched the parade. The quietness from her eldest child made Ziva relieved a little bit. She was worried that the eight year old might not be getting enough attention with a growing family. "Ooh, look at that one, Heidi." Ziva whispered in her daughter's ear as the next float came into view.

At first, Heidi didn't like the next parade thing because it was so dark and not fun. She turned her head to look up at her mother. "I think it needs some sparkles!" Heidi told her. "And pink!" Yep. Because anything that didn't have pink or sparkles was not good enough for Princess Heidi. But that all changed when she saw chocolate coins being thrown out. "CHOCOLATE!"

Next up in the line of floats is Babbity Rabbitty and her Cackling Stump. The float is rather dark other than a large light which draws your focus to the center of the scene but you can make out what looks like the palace grounds in the background, complete with hedges and grass and the shadow of a castle.

As the float passes you, your eyes rest on a large stump illuminated by the spotlight. A king kneels at its base and as you watch him, a recording of his promise to protect the witches and wizards of the land plays for all to hear. The king then rises from his place and begins to throw sweets out to the trick-or-treaters. Hope you’re paying attention or you might just get a chocolate frog to the face! The sweets aren’t the only new addition to the scene. Keep your eyes on the float for another surprise.

When you look over at the float once more, you notice that the twinkling lights have illuminated more of the float than a single spotlight possibly could have. A new figure emerges from the depths of the float and, when the lights reach it, you realise that a large, golden statue of Babbitty Rabbitty herself is standing behind the stump. This statue stands as a symbol of protection that the King has promised to his magical subjects, giving off even more of a sense of peace and better times for magical people everywhere.

When the float passes you by, the famous cackling of Babbitty Rabbitty can be heard, almost as if it’s coming from the statue itself!

Whoever designed that float had done a shoddy job of it, or was possibly running low on sleep. "I guess it's of no real consequence." He said, noting the reactions of the children nearby. In this moment where candy was sprouting from float after float, did they even remember the story?? "I get the feeling they don't mind having their children muddled with so long as there's sugar involved?"

And there it was, the tight grip his niece now had him. She'd been jittery all evening but he thought it would have been all the candy getting to her. Evidently it was not. He couldn't see the look on her face but Emily having to remind her she was safe gave him a fair idea of what he was dealing with. "It's just pretend." He offered. "Like Ashley pretending to be a sickly, dead inferi. Nothing more." Some back up would be nice.

Also...Gavin leaned a bit closer to Emily. "Doesn't he look like the goblin we ran into down in Knockturn Alley?" He asked, in a low voice meant only for her ears, though with people this close, there was no telling what people would hear.

What was Zeke TALKING about? Ashley pried her eyes away from the goblin and the floats to look at her obviously confused brother who did not understand what Halloween WAS. "They aren't real. That's the point. It's pretend and dress up. What would they be doing with a real goblin and a real ghost?" Sometimes she wished he'd think more. Of all the fake stuff they'd seen he chooses to believe this. Sigh. He had a lot to learn. "They could have gotten a goblin from Gringotts but the ghost is probably a spell--an illusion spell like the ones Maman tells me about."

That had to be how they did it and the girl wanted to get a closer look, she just didn't know how well her uncle would take it if she and Zeke suddenly sprinted out into the middle of the street. 'Sides, she didn't wanna get smushed if the floats didn't stop. It was dark, they might not SEE her.

She'd only been distracted for a moment more before he said he wanted a goblin. "Pourquoi??--I mean, why? You could have a house elf instead. They're nicer and make better food if it's a pet your looking for." Unless it wasn't but then why else would he want one if not to make it his play thing? That would be her reason for wanting it.

Why was everyone so excited about the goblin and the ghost? Looking around she could hear what they were saying and honestly she thought they'd all lost their minds. Didn't goblins eat children? Ashley said they did and her sister was always right about everything. That made her even less likely to be willing to get off her Uncle's shoulders. It just wouldn't happen.

She heard Emily say she was safe and of course she believed her but that didn't make things any less scary than they were looking right now.

The 7 year old took a moment to consider her Uncle's words. Nothing was real? Everything was for pretend? Like the lady back at the Daily Prophet that got her extra treats? No. Non. She pointed. "The ghost is REAL. I saw him go through a wall."

It was the holiday, period. That's what she was blaming it on. It was so commercialised, so fake and there was too much sugar involved, even for her - and she thought there was no such thing. HA! "It's not, which is a shame... if you say you're going to do something, do it right..." and don't put blasted Goblins where they don't belong, she'd had enough of them for a lifetime. "Zeke wouldn't be able to tell the difference even if they spelled it out for him, he was never in it for the narrative journey." No, because that would have been so Ravenclaw of him if he had, and she'd have been proud... alas, there was no hope.

Of course Zeke wasn't her problem right now. No. He was entertained and as far as she could tell, keeping out of trouble. Avery on the other hand, was not coping, and this left hers and Gavin's attention divided. She would have offered more assistance in... reassuring her, but her parenting/guardianship skills were nowhere near developed enough for that, and she was certain that telling the girl to suck it up wasn't going to help. The only form of kindness she could afford Avery was a gentle pat on the leg. Yep. She was fine, it was Gavin's problem now.

Instinctively she leaned her head in towards Gavin's as he leaned in to her, and the comment about the Goblin registered loud and clear. Goblins... she'd seen too many of them, especially recently, to be able to tell the difference, but now that he mentioned it. "You're right." Emily extracted a hand from her pocket, ready to flick her wrist from its holster at any moment should she need to. Call her paranoid, but nothing good ever came from the KAers sight seeing in DA.

He heard something along the lines of pretend and not being real, but he was a little distracted by the candy that was being thrown his way. Not very skillfully, Zeke plucked a few from the air, catching them and fumbling them and giving up on them all at the same time. Still he had a fair idea of what she was jabbering on about. Smarty pants. "Nope, pretty sure they're both real," he replied stubbornly. "You're right about the Goblin, I think I saw that one last week when Emily ran errands... but the ghost is definitely a ghost, you can't fake that stuff," he said, convinced of the fact. "Cause WHY fake it? WE have to fake it, cause last I checked I wasn't a Death Eater and you not an Infeary ... BUUUTTT... why would they fake a ghost when they could just borrow one?" Borrow one, that's what this was, right? Or were they renting it? Was it volunteering? Was it just invited?

The idea of them being fake still plagued him, so with knit brows he tried thinking about it some more. Emily had always told him that there were no such things as stupid questions, except for when there were ... whatever that meant. But what she had also told him, and he listened, was that the most important question anyone could ever ask, was why. So he had. WHY would they fake it? WHY was it even here? WHY WHY WHY?!....

Zeke unwrapped a candy and popped it in his mouth under his mask, and then turned back to Ashley, the floats were a bit boring all things considered. Ashley asked smart questions too apparently, but of course she did, she was clever. "I dunno," he shrugged in reply. "I think they're neat... and if I had a pet Goblin it could help me break into Gringotts." Not that he was thinking of doing such things, but y'know, IF he ever needed the money. "And it could steal good food I'm sure." SEEEE! Logic! He had it!

As you walk about the spooky street of Diagon Alley, you may notice the Three Brothers standing amongst Death as one of the many floats displayed. This float does not obtain too much bright colour, yet this adds to the eerie feel it creates of doom and death.

The platform of the float is made to look as if it is a realistic, treacherous river so much so that the river even appears to be flowing at it’s rapid speed. To connect the rocky banks of the river is a bridge created from magic as told in the tale.

In the middle of the bridge is what caught your eyes at first. It is of course the Three Brothers attempting to pass with death in their way. Each brother has their chosen gift from Death in hand: Antioch, the Elder Wand; Cadmus, the Resurrection Stone and Ignotus with his humble Invisibility Cloak. These gifts glimmer as if made to stand out. Death, dressed in his dark cloak, is wearing a secretive smile on his evil face, cunningly hoping his gifts will soon lure the three brothers towards him.

If it is not clear already, the scene depicted from The Tale of the Three Brothers is where the brothers are receiving their gifts from death.

"Hear me hear me!" A voice boomed in Diagon Alley's streets, sounding particularly clear and rattling in the South street end where the parade was occurring. The previously-clear sky had a swirling dark spot now, and two hooded figures appeared in the center of it. "You may know me as the Funny One or the Joy Bringer, it doesn't matter by which you do for now I come with surprises hidden up my sleeve.” Some of them were literally up his sleeve. Masked Peverell zooooomed closer to the crowd below and the floats. “Halloween is our day, it gives us right to startle and steal, and tonight, when all you, kids, go to sleep, I will sneak into your nice, clean bedrooms and steal all the candy you've collected today, and I will melt them in my hand and I will smear them all over your petty faces and that pathetic excuse of a hair on the back of your heads. Myahahahaha” A hysterical laughter interrupted the booming speech briefly.

Or you can surrender all your bounties right now and right here!” His voice was too high-pitched to belong to a man, he spoke with his signature confident carelessness, and you could pick up on his insanity without having to identify him by the face. Especially for those who had met him before. “SURRENDER. NOW! CANDY FOR THE REAL SCARE IN DIAGON ALLEY! SURRENDER!” The broom on which Peverell rode on zigzagged the sky in unnatural speed, going over the heads of the crowd and tearing at the floats as it passed over them. “SURRENDER! CANDY FOR THE MAN! SURRENDER!" Soon it was turning into a song, and he continued zigzagging the sky and singing to surrender their candy.

Then curses started flying from his wand, green, blue, and golden curses that would rid any target of their hair, or give them a tail, or turn their face to a deep shade of violet. Faster and faster, he cursed and sang and danced on his broom! Everything was turning into a big chaos, and the more chaotic it got the higher Peverell's laughter was!

Yeah I broke that mirror, so what? ll NOT backward ll Official Gryfferin ll Lemon's favourite

The feel of the crisp night air had done her more good than she'd imagined as she zipped through the Alley at Peverell's tail. The chill had given her the feeling of being ALIVE, one she seldom felt these days unless given the task of getting rid of someone. By now she'd long given up on keeping the hood over her head with the speeds she'd had to reach to keep up with the oh so demented one. It didn't matter who saw. This night now belonged to them.

Down on one of the floats she spotted the ever loyal goblin, who she trusted by now had gotten the signal for...whatever this was Peverell had planned. Stealing candy, this was what she'd been reduced to.

Emma cast a quick sonorus deciding she'd give him a hand. "The last child found with candy will have them painfully removed from their little fingers. You know we don't like having to get nasty," Heh, except they might have enjoyed it a bit too much, "but what's a halloween parade without a few tricks?" Though she wouldn't be sneaking into anyone's bedroom tonight. Not at all. There was a brand of insanity meant solely for the madman.

She dove into the ground, shoving at anyone dumb enough to stay in the way when they saw her coming. "Trick or Treat!" She bellowed at the ear of a child before nicking their bag of candy. It would no doubt be thrown away before the night was through.

She doubled back toward the floats, casting again and again until designs were scarcely recognizable. This was a night of terror, bright colours and cheer would hardly achieve this. They were welcome.

Finally.

Korpsit thought he would be standing on this float being made a staring piece the entire night but they had finally come, wands blazing and louder than the goblin could appreciate. He gave a few hard kicks at the designs Emma had not melted away disfiguring them further before hopping off to cause a little mischief of his own.

He'd heard something about little fingers. Were they allowed to take a few back with them? He was sure he had good use for them.

"Gimme your candy!" The goblin barked as he shoved through the crowd of little wizards. Occasionally he spared them a mean look as his hands remained before him in a demanding gesture. Were they daft? Give him what he wanted.

You didn't even need to be someone who enjoyed thorough work to agree that some things were best followed to a 'T'. The event might have been for the children who paid little attention to anything but there were adults here too, adults that could criticize as they saw fit. "Somehow I didn't figure he'd be in it for the story either." Not meant in an offensive way, hardly, just a truthful one. The boy didn't seem the type to sit still and pay attention to detail. "I don't suspect anyone will call them out on it either." So they were free to keep mucking things up.

Gavin sighed, trying to appear less tired than he actually felt. Of course she'd seen the ghost go through a wall, of course she wouldn't believe him when he said it was all fake. Wouldn't want to make this easy for him or anything. The pat to her leg from Emily was appreciated and possibly all she'd be getting because there was little else he could do until she calmed down.

And it would appear he wasn't just imagining things. Emily agreed the goblin was the same as that day down in Knockturn Alley and admittedly it was unsettling. Something told him things were about to get bad and he scanned the crowd to be sure his niece was still very much within close distance.

He was still not listening to her which meant he was wrong and would keep on being wrong until he accepted what she was saying. See, he already admitted the goblin was borrowed from Gringotts, it was only a matter of time before he lost faith in the ghost too. "Alright, fine, you say they borrowed the ghost. Where would they borrow him from? Ghosts can't leave the place they die at and I've never seen a ghost in Diagon Alley before so it has to be a spell." Had to had to had to. He should just listen to her more often, Circe.

The 9 year old snorted at his logic. "Goblins love money. If he stole some he wouldn't let you have it." And him wanting food from it was just as ridiculous because everyone knew house elves made the best food. You just had to hire one and they'd be loyal to you, like the ones at her grandparents house. Then again he did say it would steal it. "Fine. Get a goblin. We can steal that on--"

Merlin what was THAT?? Ashley's eyes shot up when the loud noise suddenly rang off. Her eyes widened as she listened to the man talk about sneaking into their bedrooms and wanting their candy. THEIR CANDY. And another voice on about painful removing of candy??? WHAAAAAT??? She looked to Zeke, wondering if she was the only one hearing this, even while clinging to her bag of candy. Then it happened--SPELLS WERE FLYING!!!! Was this a part of the show and wasn't that the goblin headed for them?? "You still want that goblin?"

The leg patting would have been comforting if there wasn't a loud sound in the next minute, a loud sound and people wanting her candy!! She didn't even have that much!! The hysterical laughter of the man shook the 7 year old, gripping her so tightly that for a second she made no movements, no responses. Just her little chest tightening again as she watched the scene play before her.

Coming to their bedrooms? Stealing their candy? Nothing made sense. It wasn't until the goblin jumped from the float and started pushing through the crowds while the man shot THINGS AT THEM WITH BRIGHT LIGHT and the woman was darting through that her muscles could half coordinate with her, allowing her to scrambling from her Uncle's shoulers (TOO HIGH AND SHE DIDN'T WANNA BE A TARGET) and clung to his neck, holding herself there, latched on tighter than a koala, her candy bag long since dropped. "Surrendor! Take the candy! Have it!" That's what he said to do, right?

Frightened brown eyes darted around the area but it was possible she was too scared to even cry so she just clung there hyperventilating and wishing they were anywhere else.

They weren't very subtle, now, were they? What with Davie shouting at the goblin and Summer-girl being a fluttery fairy thing, the goblin wasn't going to be taking them to treasure. EXCEPT HE DID. HE DID DID DID. "Arr, candy booty," Genny wished she had a hook hand, so she could pokepoke DAvie with it, but then she wouldn't have two hands available for gathering up all the candy and stuffing it into her expanded pillowcase. Could she make Davie give over his candy too? For pirate booty reasons?

"Arr. Davie. I can hold all the candy in my big bag. If you want." AND SHE SAW DADDY. There he was! Genny plopped down on her bum and used her arms AND legs to collect candy while well out of sight of her father.
Davie was busy scooping and collecting, gathering as much candy as he could right now. Yummm this was all going to be DELICIOUS to eat later. He couldn't wait to gobble it up, and his little pumpkin was getting pretty heavy.

Hmm. He gave Genny a deep look as she plopped down and starfished out. He didn't really waaaaant to give up his candy, because he'd worked hard to collect all that. So... "My pumpkin's full but I can help you with yours," he offered politely, taking a dignified seat next to her on the ground. He started picking up the candies, not nearly as quickly as he had been previously, because he was looking at each individual piece and deciding if he had room for it in his pumpkin or if he should give it to Genny.

She could only pay attention to the goblin for so long though because candy was falling from the SKY. Summer quickly joined Davie and the Tater girl and started to gather as much candy into her little basket as she could.

"Do you think the goblin has candy, too?" she asked. Maybe if they said hi, he would give her some!
Summer had made it!! "Probably," Davie looked up from his candy sorting and tossed one into Genny's bag. "Goblins like collecting things, you know? Like treasure? Candy is basically edible treasure." To him it sure was, and judging from the size of Genny Tater's pile.... it was DEFINITELY treasure to pirates.

Davie wasn't TOO afraid yet, because this was probably part of the parade, right? All the floats and stuff were celebrating magic, and brooms were magic, and so were goblins... it somewhat made sense to him, even if the people on brooms didn't sound very nice. Besides, what would bad people do with candy? Nothing. It wasn't gold. This was probably all a big ploy to keep kids from getting cavities.

Genny was NOT a fan of the sudden loud noises, the yelling and swooping from the sky, and the goblin now making himself known to them, and she was very tempted to cry about it. Her nose crinkled and her eyes filled and she just needed her daddy right NOW. Where did he go? Why wasn't he with her?

"No, it's MY candy," she whispered fiercely to anyone close enough to listen, and Genny stuffed the pillowcase of candy under her shirt so she looked like a lumpy, pregnant pirate. She wouldn't share with them that didn't deserve it, like mean goblins and people with hoods. "My candy," she repeated, and then, "I want my daddy."

She was deep in character, y'know? Tate glanced down at the little one who was chanting his name, and he made the universal sign for 'can I pick up your baby?' with his big hands. His own child had made it to the ripe old age of 8, so obviously he could be trusted with littler ones. Teenage girls, now... that was going to be a problem for him. He still had Neptune Bott related nightmares.

"Nevermind, I see her. She's the one doing snow angels in the candy." And she would probably get run over by a float at some point. He was a terrible father. So give us your baby, Arya?
"I would have thought you'd be better at keeping up with one small girl," Arya smiled up at him teasingly. He had been headmaster at Hogwarts for the entire time she'd been there. Surely one was easier than hundreds.

His grabby hands for her child hadn't gone unnoticed and Arya lifted the child up for him to take. She totally trusted him with her firstborn. And even if she didn't, Emma was made of sturdy stuff, he'd be hard pressed to break that little one. Her eyes were on the rest of the event, searching for the small girl who wasn't as small as the first mental image that came to mind when she thought of Genny Tate.

"Merlin, she's big. And that's a lot of candy." That was too MUCH candy, actually. But Arya wasn't going to ruin the child's fun. "How'd she manage to drag you out here?" He was the last person she'd thought to see tonight.

Actually goblins were the last ones she'd think to see tonight. Arya kept her attention on Tate, since he had her little one, but her eyes and concern were directed towards the disruptive crew now at the event.

Emma didn't care about candy stealing adults or goblins or anything else 'cause HI TATE!

She was up HIGH like when her Papa held her.

She beamed, giggled more and made grabby hands at his face.

"Mmm... something like that," she concurred, eyes still trained on the Goblin. The ghost she didn't much care about, it was just that, a ghost, but the Goblin was far shiftier, and where he was... Peverell was sure to follow. Since it was his pet thing. Odd fellow.

Avery's fear was forgotten, on the back burner now as she shifted her focus to Zeke and Ashley, they were close enough, but she still didn't like the distance between them. "I don't like this," she muttered to Gavin as she moved to his other side and took a couple of steps in the kids' direction. Eager to close the gap between them. Perhaps haul them off by the ears too - for their own good.

... ....................

Where do they borrow ghosts from? "Eerrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr...." he didn't know? Okay? He just didn't know! He found it hard to imagine that a ghost couldn't leave the place they died. He heard they moved around, not much, but some. "He could have died in the Alley somewhere... and just because you haven't seen him doesn't mean he hasn't been here all along." He shrugged. That was all he had. Big fat MAYBE's. That's what he was good for, conspiring and making things up as he went along. "Maybe he died in his sleep in the Leaky Cauldron and they let him keep his room?" he asked, "And really, you haven't looked everywhere when it's dark, no good lookin' for him in the day."

Either way, he didn't like debating, and this seemed to be one of those. He loved Ashley, but she was too brainy with these things. She was always right and he didn't even know how sometimes... it was just a thing that happened, and it seemed to be happening now. Or at least, according to her she was right, and if she was always right, then she couldn't be wrong? .... His head hurt.

The Goblin stuff though, he was listening... WAS listening, because then all of a sudden he couldn't hear anything other than LOUD NOISES coming from the sky. THE SKY?! He looked up, his hazel eyes orb-like beneath the mask. "WHOOOAA" he cried out, his jaw very much hanging and in awe. Good thing nobody saw that part. Masks, he might make this a permanent thing. There was talk of candy stealing and bedroom visits and causing pain and... "OMG IT'S HIM! IT'S THE DUDE FROM THE OTHER ALLEY THAT TOOK MY HAIR!" ....... er yeah, he probably should have filtered that. For his benefit if not Emily's. The less she knew the better. Ashley's question regarding the Goblin was ignored, because YES, he still wanted one... but but now, there were other things to do. Surrendering candy though, that didn't sound like an option.

"If I had a broom... I could pretend to be JUST like them... and then infiltrate their lair and stuff," he mused to Ashley, taking her hand protectively. Big brother duties and all. "Maybe you should give me your candy, I'll look after it." Or something like that...

....

And while he was at it... since he LOOKED the part, maybe he could PLAY the part too? Yes? It seemed like the only logical thing to do. If he was seen to be one of THEM, then they wouldn't come and bother him and Ashley... cause he wasn't going to let weirdo happy candy man rip Ashley's hair out either.

"OI YOU! GIMME YOUR CANDY!" he yelled to the nearest kid (anyone?), his fake wand thrust in their face.

SPOILER!!: Jorge, Vic, her girls, Minerva

The children were very excited.” Some a bit scared from Tori, but he felt it all went very nicely. As he nodded to her saying about getting ready he heard yet another voice. His brown eyes moved to see not just one, but two other beautiful women joining him. Yep he picked the best float to get roped into doing. “Hello ladies, I’ll be your knight for this evening.” His Spanish accent thick with his words.

Thankfully he missed the Goblin getting on the first float. His run in with the creature in Knockturn Alley would have made him either hex it quickly, but he hadn’t seen it so he just smiled at the ladies for a moment more before turning to their float. “May I help you all up, I think it’s time for us to start moving.” He stuck out his hand to help them on the float. The rough life of Sir Luckless, heh.

Victoria checked on her girls again grinning at Alana as she pointed, “Yes dear floats” How she was still awake the woman would never know. Her sister on the other hand was fast asleep and she wasn’t surprised. So many things to see she had to be over stimulated. “Oh don’t worry about it. I’m here and why not stay for it. I live so close it would be silly not to.” She knew Bart was getting older, but she still wished her son could have joined them. Though he was probably having fun doing whatever at the castle. She really hoped he was behaving. Her brown eyes looked around, “Oh yes, over there.” She pointed, “Is he being a knight?” Seemed like he was surrounded by three ladies so it made sense.

Alana yawned and stretched out her arms. It was tiring crying and seeing so much, but she didn’t want to sleep. She wanted to keep her little eyes open to see what was going on. This was interesting. The pretty lights. Her eyes widened as the first float went by and she pointed. What was that clear person doing? Did he just go through a float? “WHAAAA WHAAAA WHAAAAA” her little lip wibbled as she started to cry louder watching the ghost.

Minerva smiled at her handsome boys and shook her head, “No I don’t think he is, but it’s still fun to see.” She moved a bit closer as Ethan put his arm around her. This had been the perfect day minus the Goblin. “I think he had fun, don’t you?” What a great way to spend his first Halloween though. She looked around. “Isn’t that Mariel’s boyfriend near that one float?” It looked like him at least, but he wasn’t a pirate like she said he was. She figured he could have changed though.

Her eyes were on Gunnar watching him and smiling. Such a tired boy, “It’s okay little man if you want to sleep go ahead.” Leaning and giving him a kiss on his cheek. “You had such a big day.” Leaning her own head against her husband she looked to the first float. “I don’t know.” Why would he be on a float? That was just very

Mariel glanced down at the toddlers, one sleeping and the other so close to it. "Well, yes.. but I'm sure it's past their bedtime. You'll probably want to be getting them home soon." Elisa wasn't going to be seeing any of it and she wondered if Alana would be able to keep awake long enough to enjoy it either.

She was still looking out for Jorge and his float as the parade started moving, spotting him just as Vic pointed him out. "Oh yes, that is him," she said with a grin, giving him a little wave and blowing him a kiss. "He is a knight.. Sir Luckless from the fairy tale." So adorable he was.. and surrounded by women, of course. Appropriate. Heh. But she knew he was her knight.

Oh goodness.. was Alana crying again? Mariel glanced at her, chuckling a bit. Little one really should go to sleep. Then green eyes snapped up as she heard loud, demanding voices. What the.. ? She narrowed her eyes, watching, initially wondering if this was part of the night's festivities, soon deciding it was not. She ducked a couple spells and her hand found her wand as she inched closer to Vic's babies. "Maybe we should get them out of here," she frowned, glancing over at them. Shame that a few had to spoil the fun for the children, but it didn't really seem safe with curses flying around. Rude. A part of her really wanted to find Jorge though and her green eyes searched the floats again for him.

Ethan smiled at Minerva and nodded a bit. "I think his heavy eyelids are a pretty good sign that he had a good time," he chuckled. His green eyes turned to the parade as it started and he looked in the direction that Min was talking about, squinting a bit. "Yeah, I think that looks like Jorge, doesn't it?" It wasn't a pirate costume though, but maybe the theme didn't match it or something. "Maybe the people that work around here are on the floats too." That would make sense and it looked like the characters from The Fountain of Fair Fortune was that particular float.

His smile quickly faded as he heard loud, hostile voices and his arms went tighter around both Min and Gunnar as he watched a moment. "What is.. going on..?" he murmured, slightly confused before glancing down at his son who was startled awake, now crying. "I think trick or treat is over. Why don't we get going.." Maybe it was something fun for the older kids, he wasn't sure, or it was just some nasty people with nothing better to do than to ruin the fun for little kids, but he didn't have a very good feeling about it and felt it best to just go.

Little Gunnar was so exhausted that he had already fallen asleep before the parade had even gotten started. It had been a long day of new things but they had all tired him out and he was ready to be in his bed, falling asleep against Daddy's shoulder. Until some very loud noises startled him from his dreams and his eyes snapped open. Wibble. "WHAAA WHAAA," he started crying, his cries growing louder as he clung to Daddy's shirt. He didn't like this one bit and wanted to go home.

Victoria checked the girls again and smiled, “It is past their bedtime, but they’ll sleep fine in the stroller. Once it’s over we’ll head home. I’m not leaving you here to stand alone.” Now way would she do that. What kind of friend would she be if she did? So he was being Sir Luckless, well he seemed to have all the luck being with the three ladies. What guy wouldn’t want to be the only man in the group.

Her eyes went back to the parade as Alana started crying, “It’s okay dear. Ghost are allowed to join the parade as well, is that a Goblin though?” She had questioned on the first float. Weird, she half wondered if Gringotts was paying extra for them to want to do it, when she heard the loud voice. Her eyes widened. What was going on? The next thing she knew the Goblin was near them. No.. no not near her babies. Looking towards Mariel she nodded, “Yes I think it’s time to go home.” She pulled her wand and put a shielded a few curses that went near them.

Elisa had been fast asleep when someone was disturbing her dreams. She blinked a few times in confusion. She wasn’t in her crib at all like she first thought. Where was she? Where was Daddy? Mommy? Godmommy? She looked around as her lip began to wibble. Then some weird looking thing was near and the loud noises were still around. “WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA WHAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA” She didn’t like this at all, why did the fun end and the scary begin?

Alana had been crying because of that transparent thing she had seen when mommy told her it was alright. She blinked through her tears and yawned again. The lights were pretty, but her hands soon went up to her face as something loud happened. Brown eyes widened as she searched for what was going on. Seeing the Goblin near she started crying as loud as her sister. “WHAAAAAAAAA WHAAAAAA WHAAAAA” Only to stop for a moment. Something had appeared near her. She put it in her hands and played with it a bit. What was this new toy that seemed to be coming from where she was sitting? Pulling out it she cried again from it hurting. It was attached, one of the curses got through Victoria’s shielding and a tail was exactly what Alana was holding in her little hands.

She agreed with her husband, their son had a great time. Plus more sweets then he was used to, she was surprised he wasn’t on a sugar high at the moment. Enjoying Ethan’s arm around her she leaned against him and put an arm around him. What a great way to end the great day. Standing watching a light parade with the two guys she loved the most. “I bet they did. They did a great job, we will have to thank Jorge and have him thank whomever helped put this together.” It was just all wonderful.

That was until someone was on brooms being really not so nice. Was this part of the show? She quickly realized it was not as she spotted that same Goblin around people. “Yes I think it is certainly time to leave.” She frowned as Gunnar started to cry and reached up for him. “Give me Gunnar you grab the stroller and take out your wand.” She pulled her own out ready to shield the falling curses.

So the float was moving and Jorge had finally caught sight of Mariel with Victoria. Giving her a smile and wave as they passed. He was enjoying his day. Who would have thought he would really like passing out candy to the children as well as dressing up and riding on a float. It was fun though and the kids all seemed to be enjoying it. He hoped his nieces were enjoying it as well. Spotting them he gave a small wave to the girls. So happy they made the trip from Ronda to visit on a day that something fun was going on. Seeing something in the air he looked up and frowned. That was not part of the show. Hearing the man’s voice he grabbed his wand and quickly. There was nothing going to come of this that would turn out well. His eyes scanned the area for all his family and Mariel’s. They both had little nieces and nephews watching, as well as all the other people. “Ladies I think it’s time to take cover.” He said to his float partners. Torn to protect them or go for Mariel, he made sure the ladies would be fine before getting off the float and going to look for his girlfriend.

His wand out and ready he moved through the crowd looking for his sister, Mariel, or even Mariel’s nephew. He wanted to make sure they were all safe from this ridiculous group of people that were clearly here just to cause chaos.

BAHAHAHA look at those flailing children! The baby's crying was music to his ears. Peverell swooooooped closer to the floats again, on his broom, the spells came to a stop, they tore at the floats withOUT hitting anyone. That was embarrassing, he didn't want people to talk, ya know?

QUICKLY, SURRENDER AND GO HOME KIDS!

... someone was stealing his job. This was NOT part of their super evil plan. Peverell made some hand gestures at Emma that said she should cover his back and carry on giving nightmares to kids with her make-up, while he leaned down on his broom and made a dash for the boy, grabbing him by the leg and LIFTING him up with him as he shot up again into the sky. If he had any candy in his pockets they'd be falling dooooown doooooown onto the groooound.

Peverell let out a hysterical laugh-- that was cut off by how SIMILAR the boy looked to him. WHAT THE "You're dressed as me!" He exclaimed, holding the boy upside down by the ankle, and skillfully balancing them on his broom, though now they weren't moving too fast. "You're stealing my plan and dressed as me!" You couldn't tell if the man was happy, excited, or angry. It all came out the same with his high-pitched, loose tone.

SHAKESHAKESHAKE so that the candy would drop off of the boy.

Oh wasn't that the MLE's sweet lady that was with him? Oh Circe. Now he had to deal with all the fuss MLEers were going to make. EYEROOOOOLLLLLL.

He gave Emma some more gestures to cover his back AGAIN as he returned the fake death eater back on the ground. "Next time you try to steal somebody's job, don't do it lamely. You don't ask people, YOU JUST STEAL THEIR CANDY." Out of the goodness of his heart, he was teaching the boy the top secrets of his lifestyle. And people said he didn't have a heart! Untrue!

"THE KID WITH CANDY IN THEIR POCKETS STILL WILL TAKE A TOUR UP IN THE DARK SKY WITH ME." Peverell kinda liked kids hanging from his hand like dead chicken. So adorable!

Oh look a brat that couldn't follow instructions. Korpsit slipped through the crowd of obvious giants, eyes set on the boy until he was steps away. "The candy." He demanded, sneering at the child who would rather play defender this time around.

This was their halloween. He didn't know why Peverell wanted the candy but he stuck his hand out anyway, his look growing darker. Don't let him get physical.

OOoooHHhh? "Your candy?" The question came out in the harshest of tones. "Your ears not working, girlie? How'd you like me to take out your entire stomach when I get your candy?" Sticking it under her shirt like he wouldn't notice. It was the kind of insult he expected from the wizard child. All goblins must be stupid. Yes. Hide it and he'll never know.

"You want your Daddy? You'll hand over the sweets."

And what was this? Stealing their thunder was he? He watched Peverell deal with that and the look of wonder in the eyes of the little girl next to him. Did she want to fly too?

The goblin kept moving, stepping on toes where necessary and shoving through. "Candy! Give us the candy! You heard the man!"

He didn't see it coming. He was completely unprepared for what happened next. So much so that his facial features may have frozen in place due to shock .... but that soon subsided.

"WHHHHHAOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!" he finally managed to cry out once his voice had returned to him. By this stage he was HIGH UP and FLYING and UPSIDE DOWN... and ZOMG HE WAS GOING TO DIE NOW WASN'T HE?! ... His arms flailed, attempting to reach up to the brooms handle, but failing. There was no hope fore him now, it was over.

The weird man had him, AGAIN... this was so not cool, he was going to be grounded for life and forced to live as a squib, and that's if Emily decided to keep him around, she could always return him to Birmingham where she got him from. Gulp. In this instance, he wasn't even sure which was scarier, hanging upside down on a flying broom, or facing Emily if he managed to live. A part of him wondered if the man wanted more of his hair, he'd at least washed it this morning.

"I ammmmmmmmm," he exclaimed with regard to the costume, he was just like them, and "yyeeeeeepppp... stealing plans too," he added, before thinking that over. Perhaps stealing wasn't the word he was going for. "I meaaaaaaannn...." and he didn't know where he was going with this, so instead he focused on not falling-- even though that was very much out of his control. Where was his fake!wand?.. BAHHH, he'd lost it. CRAP. And just when he thought things couldn't get any worse, then the shaking happened... and the world was lost to him. Everything shook, and his mask slipped a bit down his face, obscuring his vision until he managed to right it once more. "HELPING YOU!" he suddenly blurted, having somehow come to the miraculous conclusion that he was HELPING the dark wizard person whom he didn't know the name of... instead of stealing the mans grand plans. Yep. It sounded legit. Why hadn't he thought of that plan though? It'd have been far easier than going around practically begging for candy.

Zeke wasn't sure if it was his helpfulness, or the fact that he was pretty heavy, but they started to dip back down and he was certain now that he wouldn't plummet to his death. That was nice of Weirdo man. He would have said thank you, but instead he found himself nodding at what the man was saying. Take it, don't ask for it. "Yes Sir! Got it!" he said with a salute.

...

Could he go now? Yes? Please? .... He kinda needed the toilet. Badly. And he needed to find the others... whoops.

The candy? Nooooooooo, what candy? Davie just STARED and STARED with his big blue eyes as that mean old goblin came up to him. Y'know, up close and in person, he wasn't half as fun as he had seemed from afar when Davie was following him down to the parade.

And plus, now he was threatening Genny! Davie gave a loud gasp at that uncalled for violence. "You can't just take her stomach! HERE, take THIS instead!" He THREW his heavy pumpkin of candy at the goblin's face, aiming to kick him with his little foot while he was at it. And while the goblin was occupied with hopefully getting the plush pumpkin stuck on his face, Davie was grabbing Genny's hand and scrambling them both the heck out of there.

"C'mon Genny, we gotta run," he whispered to her, tugging her and taking off. She was a little shorter but would hopefully be able to keep up until they ran into a GOOD adult. He was a very fast runner, that David Truebridge, and even more so when he was afraid the goblin was going to chase him.

Ugh, why was the boy SHOUTING his answers at him? Yes, it was beautifully noisy out here and yes, people were screaming and running, but peverell was right THERE standing flying next to him! "Shhhhhh, don't scream also! We don't scream! We laugh, like this." He let out a perfect, high-pitch hysterical laugh that echoed around the place.

At least the boy got the gist of being a Death Eater baby. Speaking of, Peverell let the boy's mask FALL to the ground to see his face-- "Hey, I know you! Hello!" Peverell almost droppe the boy in his attempt of a hug. Okay, not going to kill the ONLY promising kid he'd met in years. Okay. So, this kid was with the MLE boss? Interestiiiiiiiiiiiiiing information. And Emma thought this rave was pointless, PFFT.

The man swooooooooped down closer to the ground and smirked at the upside-down kid. "Best regards to the Law Enforcement boss lady, she looks magnificent tonight." He purred, finally dropping the boy on one of the cushion-y floats few feet below them.

That wouldn't kill him... hopefully.

"Why are you leaving?! COME BACK. GIVE ME YOUR CANDY!" He bellowed again after the departing crowd, frantically flying over their heads.

Oh? He didn't need to scream? But he WASN'T screaming, he was BEING LOUD... and those were two very different things where he was concerned. Whether or not he was willing to voice these concerns... well, he rather liked his tongue, so no talking back to the dark wizard just yet. Just yet? Cause apparently he might? "My bad," he muttered, feeling a shiver go up ... or was it down? his spine as the man laughed. Heh. It was kinda funny he s'posed. "ErrrrHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA..." he chimed in, laughing with a similar hysteria, partly due to all the sugar he'd already consumed and partly also because he was slightly delirious with the hanging upside down and the whole flying thing.

But with everything that was going on, and the laughing especially, he was loosing things again. More stuff fell from his pockets, and he was convinced that he'd lost all his spoils by now, and then the mask... there was no more holding onto it... he was EXPOSED! He was a failure of a Death Eater. No wand, no mask, no candy... he was just a boy in black robes hanging from the broom of a dark wizards. Would Diagon Alley be doing this EVERY Halloween? If so, he was RSVPing NOW. It didn't surprise him the man recognised him. They had gotten close the last they met. Heh. Awkward... he hadn't figured out that he technically lied about the parents thing, right? RIGHT?! "Hiiiiiiiiii agaii---nn," he half managed to mumble between being held and let go of at the same time. DON'T DROP HIIIIIM!!! HE WAS TOOOO YOUNG TO DIE! Wait! ... Was the man hugging him? Was he?

Still, he was in one piece and they were lower still. Mr Weirdo dark wizard mans comment regarding Emily though.... HE KNEW HIS NEW MUM?! In all honesty, he was disappointed she didn't dress up still. "I tried to get her to come as a Death Eater too, or something scary, but she's lame and says she doesn't do dress ups." Ugh. But on top of this, Zeke had questions, LOTS of them, and he wanted to ask them all at the SAME TIME... which wasn't working, so none of them got voiced and before he knew it he started FALLIIIINNGGGG AWAAYYYYY!
...

.....

........

OOOMFFTTT.

He... survived. HE SURVIVED!................. and he wanted to do it again. Zeke lay on his back a moment, his fists raised to the sky triumphantly. And as much as he really did need the toilet, there was candy on the float, and he was tempted to fill his pockets again. Only. That was too easy, maybe he would TAKE someones instead?

Her wand drawn, green eyes darted around at the crowd and the party ruiners. The curses seemed to come to a stop for now, though the casters were now throughout the crowd, scaring children. Certain that their own parents were taking care of them, Mariel glanced back to Victoria's children as they cried. "What is.. ?" she trailed off looking at Alana and what she had in her hands until her eyes widened. "Vic.. she has a tail.." She looked up at her, horrified. One of the spells must have hit her. How awful! "Let's get them out of here and try to figure out what to do next." She wasn't sure what the counter-curse was, but they wold figure it out. And with the undesirables otherwise occupied, it seemed the perfect time to get them out of harm's way.

Of course there were other people she was worried about as well. Mariel quickly scanned the crowd for any sign of Ethan, Minerva, or Gunnar. "Have you seen my nephew?" she asked Vic as she started to usher them away from the crowd. Because she didn't and she was a little worried. Maybe they left before the parade started. She hoped, at least.. but she knew they were capable enough to protect themselves and their son and get out of there. And Jorge.. she looked up a bit frantically to the float that he had been on but he wasn't there anymore. Maybe he had gone to look for his sister and she looked out to the crowd again. Yes.. it was important to find her and make sure his nieces were alright. Once she got Vic and her girls to safety, she could go back and find him. Mariel just hoped that he wasn't hit by any curses either.

"It's alright, buddy, we're going to go home," Ethan said, trying to comfort his son as Gunnar's screams began to get louder. Whatever this was certainly was not fun and he wanted to get the out of there before someone got hurt. It looked like there were plenty of adults around for their own children even as people began scrambling towards the exits. It was time for them to leave as well. He handed over the baby to Minerva, then pulled out his wand as he started pushing the stroller away from there, making sure his little family was right next to him.

"WHAAAAA WHAAAAAA WHAAAAAAAA" Gunnar cried louder and louder. He didn't like the loud, angry voices or the flashing lights or the people running around everywhere AT ALL. And he wanted out of here and in his nice, comfy bed so he could go back to sleep. This was too scary. He grabbed Daddy's shirt, twisting his fingers in it, while he cried, until he was going to Mommy. Was she going to take him home? He still cried. He would cry until he was away from this scary place.

Victoria was pushing the stroller quickly. She needed to get her girls out of there. Her wand still gripped tightly with one hand she was very glad when the curses stopped being thrown. Feeling relieved that no one was hit her eyes darted to Mariel when she seemed concerned. “What is… whaaaaa” She looked down at her daughter. A few choice words left her lips and then she was down at her daughter touching the tail. “Stupid wizards. How dare they harm my child.” She was furious and she wasn’t wanting this to just be taken lightly. She’d be speaking to Emily tomorrow about all of this. They had to do something about these idiots.

Grabbing the stroller again she started pushing it quickly trying to get as far away from there as possible. “No I haven’t seen him. Maybe you should go look. We don’t live far, I’ll be alright.” She’d have to figure out the tail, probably go to Mungos. Which would mean owling Charely. He wasn’t going to be happy about this. *sighs* but there really was nothing she could do. Hearing screaming she looked down, “Elisa let go of your sister’s tail….. now” For Merlin’s Sake!

Elisa was screaming from all the noises. It was too loud and she was sleeping. Didn’t they realize this? Her eyes looking around scared and wanting her mommy or daddy. Someone needed to pick her up. As she looked towards her sister she saw her playing with something that made her stop crying for a moment. She wanted it and reached over grabbing it. What was this, she pulled hard and looked at Alana as she screamed. Which made her scream again. “WHAAAA WHAAA WHAAA” Pull the tail…

Alana’s tears had stopped for a moment. She was looking at this object that had appeared near her and now was in her hands. It was soft for the most part, but when she pulled it hurt. Why would this thing hurt when she pulled it? She pulled at it again, but then it was quickly gone. Where did it go? Brown eyes went to Elisa just as she felt pain. “WHAAAA WHAAAA WAHAAA” Why was she hurting?

Minerva was exhausted from the day’s activities and carrying around extra weight with being pregnant wasn’t helping the walking at the moment. She hurried the best she could. Her son crying making her more and more anxious. Once he was in her arms she cuddled him as she walked. “It’s alright bubba, we’ll be home soon.” Reading down she grabbed his dragon off the stroller. “Here’s your gon gon, you want it to cuddle?” Her poor little man. She looked up as she darted around people and headed out of the alley.

Jorge had gotten off the float, but couldn’t find anyone. He hoped Mariel had found her way out of the alley and that her friend and nephew were safe. Moving around with his wand out he heard the shouting. Stopping he thought about going towards it. He had enough friends and led a dark life long enough he knew he could handle them, but he had to find his sister and Mariel. So he turned away from them and headed towards the other side. Spotting his sisters he moved quicker.

Okay, so Arya's baby girl was pretty cute, and it was fully distracting Tate from watching Genny and her candy horde and her terrorizing other children. Not when Emma Dakest was patting his face and grinning all drooly at him and being cute.

He wanted another one, but Cari was all set in the child department. He didn't need another one, and it was enough that he had a Genny, who had been his chance to prove he could be a father. He didn't need it, and he wouldn't mention it to Cari. But he pulled goofy faces at Emma and wanted one just like her.

And then he spotted the look on Genny's face, and all good feelings were gone. "Is that goblin terrorizing Geneva, or am I being an overprotective parent?" He jiggled Emma and made half-hearted faces.

Emma LIKED faces. Like to touch them and poke noses and pull on ears and grab on hair. He didn't have enough hair to grab or put in the mouth, but he DID have everything else and was making silly faces.

Enough to please the smallest Dakest.

She giggled and grinned and when she couldn't mimic the silly faces cause they were HARD she stuck out her tongue.

Arya was enjoying watching her baby with Tate. She'd never actually seen him with one since Genny had happened while she was in school and she didn't ever see the child until she was a little older than Emma was now. It was cute, why didn't she bring her camera with her? She would need pictures to tell Sabel about this later.

Or Treyen, if she ever found him.

Remembering that she had in fact been looking for him and also that goblins were about, her eyes slipped away from the former headmaster and child to eventually spot out his daughter again.

"No such thing as overprotective when goblins are about." And she was certain that was in fact a goblin. Where did he even come from? "I think he's going for all the candy..."
