Image Credit: Ameh Through the years since it first opened its doors, Florean Fortescues Ice Cream Parlor has gone through many changes. It has been updated for the times more often than memory can provide reference for; those who have visited previously will be quick to notice the newest update, which arrives along with the newest owner. The counter showcasing the many ice cream flavours offered has been shifted further to the left than before, and a large glass case has been installed between it and the till. The colourful trail of delicious (and sometimes vaguely terrifying) ice creams leads to a case brimming with baked confections, all ready to be picked and served with your favourite complementary (or not so complementary) flavour of ice cream.
Whether you choose your favourite flavour or choose to explore new and hopefully delicious options, the shopkeeper or assistant can easily be summoned to help with a small tap bell on the countertop, should the bells at the entrance not have summoned them from the kitchen beyond the double doors behind the counter.

"You got it!" Isley quickly grabbed four sample spoons, making two samples of Jalapeno and two samples of Nacho Cheese. "Here are some samples of Jalapeno and nacho Cheese. If you would like to sample anything else let me know." She said with a smile, and then quickly pulled out two single scoop cups, making one a heaping scoop of Chocolate Frog and the other a heaping scoop of Treacle Fudge.
She then quickly brought the ice creams back over to the counter. "Here you are darlings. That will be 6 sickles, please!" Isley said with a smile.

She deserved this.
After a VERY long day at work, Sam decided that ice cream was IN THE CARDS! Arriving at the counter, Sam took a look at the menu and rang the bell. She decided to keep looking at the options until the shopkeeper was ready for her. If she was made to wait too long,
she would just keep adding scoops of different flavors. No self control today. | |

It was a slow day and she was really distracted with what she was doing, so when she heard the bell ring it made her jump like a scared cat! She put her hand over her racing heart and took a breath.
She quickly made her way out to the counter. "Hello! Sorry for the wait! What can I get for ya?" She said with a small smile.

Sam had been browsing the menu to her heart's... well, stomach's content. When the shopkeeper emerged, Sam smiled. "Oh not at all!" She had actually only chosen two flavors so far, and she decided to stop there... for now. "I'd like a double scoop, please, lemon drop on top and chocolate frog on the bottom." That couldn't possibly be the weirdest combo, and even if it was, Sam had no shame at Florean's. She would have gotten more if she thought she could make it to a table without dropping some of it.

As the woman worked on her order, she subconsciously lifted her left leg so that the arch of her foot was lined up with her knee. Her neck stretched to its full length, and for some reason, this was comfortable. She waited for the woman to finish before holding her hand out with the 6 sickles in it. She smiled and said, "Th a n k y o u! Itlooksdelicious!" Nope! Nothing about that interaction seemed odd to Sam. Smile still showing, she turned using the foot already elevated and headed toward the door. | |

Isley was exhausted already and the day hadn't even started yet. Her assistant got a better job, and her intern had a baby and didn't have the time to help out anymore. Besides, she was to old to be an intern anyway. Isley didn't mind doing the work on her own. Most days it wasn't too busy, but with summer here it had been far busier than the rest of the year because the Hogwarts students were out and about and having a good old time.
After setting up the last tub of ice cream, she headed to the door, turned the closed sign over to open, and unlocked the door to a new day in Diagon Alley. She quickly went back behind the ice cream bar, making sure all the ice cream scoops were clean and ready for the busy day ahead.
