IC Details:

The term long assignment brainstormed by Professor Khanna is an easy one, and it was designed with a few goals in mind: 1. For their students to gauge where they stand in defensive magic, reflex and cognitive function under pressure; 2. for them to observe just how much the students have learnt so far. Yes, the latter meant that they would be popping up ever so often to observe these scheduled duels taking place at the Arena. Better yet, they would be opting to duel a few of you!

For this term-long assignment, you are required to duel at least once against a peer - or Professor Khanna. Whomever happens to be your your partner, just keep in mind that spells resulting in maiming, grave injury and death are absolutely forbidden in this Arena!

OOC Details:
  1. Only one duel is needed to complete the assignment.
  2. There is no limit to the number of posts in which the duels can be completed.
  3. Each student {both winner and loser} can be awarded up to 30 points. If duels have not been completed by the stipulated deadline, points will still be awarded. The system, of course, differs if Professor Khanna is the opponent; in which case, the student alone will receive the points.
  4. You may refer to this list for spells as a guide for your character’s skill level.
  5. Verbal & Non verbal spells are accepted and encouraged.
  6. This activity will remain open until 22nd July, 2023 at 10PM EST; and sign ups can be done here.
  7. Should you have any questions, please drop me a PM, VM or Skype message.
  8. Be creative but not to go overboard so that it results in maiming, grave injury or death to other characters.
  9. Have fun!

Rubric:

Total points possible: 30
  • 10 points: RPer produces posts with minimal details {namely, providing character action but missing a number of important details like character’s thoughts, impressions, opinions, feelings}
  • 20 points: RPer produces posts with details listed above {namely, providing character’s actions but posts are missing some essential details which are not limited to having their character give up the duel without reason or refusing to do the activity without reason}
  • 30 points = RPer produces posts with outstanding details {namely, all the details listed in 1 & 2; the thought process and reasoning into the character selecting their choice of spells are provided in some amount of detail}

Update {dated 17th June}: Duels need not be completed to be assigned maximum points; following the above rubric will be enough.
