Ashley walked into the breakroom, lunch in hand and sat down at the large table. She was feeling pretty out of place at the moment and thought that eating something might at the very least stop her stomach from being upset. She pulled out her salad and set her napkin next to it, fork on top. She tucked a few strands of hair behind her ears and began to eat, wondering what the rest of the day would be like.

"Good afternoon," Gabi replied with a smile to the man who had acknowledged her. That was one perk of this job...even if it was slow going, at least the people were more than friendly around here.
"It definitely is," she said with a sigh. She took a dainty bite of her bagel and washed it down with a sip of coffee. "Nice to meet you Ashley, I'm Gabi," she said, deciding right off the bat that this woman was nice enough to be privileged to call her by her nickname. She shook her hand and then ran a hand through her wavy brown hair.
"Days like today make me wonder if I'd get more done at home," she said with a chuckle. Whenever it got slow, her mind started to create a list of everything she needed to do. Change the sheets. Dust the furniture. Fold the laundry. All of that would only take her five minutes with magic, of course, but when she was really REALLY bored, she did it the muggle way. Just for kicks. Sometimes Tucker would even help if that meant he got to pick out which Superhero sheets he got to put on his bed.

She seemed nice enough and willing to talk which was more than she could say for some people in the office. It was a bit quiet in there for Ashley's liking. "I agree. I mean it's only my first day but a girl can only unpack her things for so long before she needs something else to do..." She frowned at her salad, noting how unappetizing it seemed at the moment. "I also don't know why I bother trying to eat healthy, I feel like a rabbit." She ate another forkful of lettuce with feigned enthusiasm. "So Gabi, how long have you worked here?" Ashley asked, smiling.

"Not very long at all...since the beginning of last year, I suppose?" she said. WOW. She'd actually been here quite a long time but, compared to others she knew she was still a rookie in this place.

She smiled at her coworker, nodding. "No, I know. You're right. I just wish I liked salad more than say...chocolate." And boy did she love her some chocolate.
Ashley was somewhat relieved to hear that Gabi had only started a year previously. "So you like working here? I'm sure it's wonderful, I just can't help feeling kind of nervous about starting a new position." Ashley's nerves had been on high alert since she had accepted the job. Moving away from her family home hadn't helped the situation much. "I just want so badly to love coming to work every day." She said, digging into her salad once again.
