"I won't break your legs, you haven't danced with me yet." Grin. |

"Now tell me how you've been lately," he said with a mischievous smile playing on his lips, "or better, you can tell me that on the dance floor." He raised their clasped hands suggestively, wondering if it was a bad idea or a very bad idea. He hadn't danced in a long time, but let's just hope that he didn't forget how not to step on a lady's feet. |

Kath :) She wasn't really a fan of dancing, much less dancing alone, and so Catharina found herself settling in her seat, a drink in hand as she quietly sipped it while watching the dancers on the floor. A few couple holding each other close as they swayed lazily to the music, while a number of younger employees danced along happily with their fellow co-workers. Surprisingly, she could even see a few Unspeakables in the middle of the chaotic scene. and she could have sworn she saw Recard serving drinks at the other side of the room...although, she couldn't be too sure. The blonde leaned back against her seat carefully and took another sip of her drink as her brown eyes scanned the crowd, hoping to spot a certain Level 4 employee. Where could he be? |
Quote:
"You Unspeakables weren't named that for no reason," he said with a grin. "Just looking at you this evening takes the words right out of my mouth." He reached out for her hand and swiftly took it up in his and kissed the back of her hand softly. This was going to be like pulling a band aid off...very VERY slowly...wasn't it? |

The woman blinked, shaking herself subtly out of her stupor and glanced up at the man in front of her who had then taken her hand and kissed the back of it. For a moment, she was surprised to see him, after all, it had been a while since they saw one another...since that lunch date of theirs as a matter of fact. But then she had to remind herself that he had every right to be there too. "Thank you." She said with a smile as she felt her cheeks heating up slightly at the compliment "You don't look so bad either." She joked as she chuckled. Glad to see that he was still the same Kaishu. "So, why aren't you dancing?" She asked, sparing a glance at the dance floor once mor before turning back towards him. |
anyone want to meet the (weird) Japanese representative? XD Daisuke sat alone after he took some food at the buffet. Merlin, he hated this. He hated being an official representative from his country just ALONE. (except the money which he got from this journey :xd:) At first Daisuke wanted to bring Junichiro, his brother who would be the new man here, but he wanted to prepared the placement. And.. BALL is not Jun's stuff (and Daisuke too actually.) He really looked like a stranger now. A Japanese was on the British Ministry of Magic Celebration? Gah.. He murmured in Japanese Language. |

Breath… Breath… Remember to breath. As he spoke she looked at him, taking everything in. How he looked, how he spoke and the romantic words he said. Now or never right? Medea didn’t want this lingering over her head all night. She wanted to get it over with quickly. ”I’m the lucky one, Leo.” Here’s goes nothing… and everything. ”Mason, remember the portrait of my Grandmother that was in the warehouse?” This was important to her story, her build up. Nervously she moved a piece of hair to behind her ear. The dark haired woman was trying to not choke up… it wasn’t working. She fought back the tears and cleared her throat. ”She was a very well known seer.” Medea reached across the tabletop to him, placing her hand on top of his. ”She made a prophecy when I was young about me…. And as it turns out you.” A long pause took its hold. She slowly pulled the small purse from her shoulder and placed it on the table. Looking at it she fussed with the clasp, not quite ready to open it. ”I’ve known you were the one for a long time. I love you so much.” With a quick look up at him she started to open the purse. |

The portrait of her grandmother, yes, Mason remembered. He nodded and smiled when she put her hand on his. He upturned his hand so he could hold hers as he brushed his thumb across her hand. "Yes, I know," he said patiently. Mason continued to listen to her, but he really just wanted to speak up and ask her the question. His other hand reached into his suit pocket as soon as she mentioned that her grandmother made a prophesy. And it was... him? Mason's hand froze around the box in his pocket and he stared at Medea. "Cora..." He whispered as he watched her pull her purse out. What was she doing? I’ve known you were the one for a long time. I love you so much. Mason swallowed nervously. "I love you too. More than anything." He replied, grasping the box in his pocket again. His heart was pounding out of his chest. "Which is why..." Mason pulled the box out of his pocket. "I want to spend the rest of my life with you." |
Millie walked in & just took a seat at a table by herself. she put her clutch down on the table & just watched everyone having fun |

She nodded nervously agreeing with everything he said. Medea thought nothing into him divulging his feeling about her, he did it regularly. There was no doubt Medea knew exactly how Mason felt about her. She felt the same way about him. The woman’s finger slipped in to the bag and touched the cool metal of the ring. ”I wish to spend my life with you Leo. Which is why…” She stopped, looked up at her lover and pulled out the ring. She held it between her thumb and forefinger. ”Which is why I’m asking you to…” The woman’s voice escaped her. The emotion of the situation was getting to be very heavy. |

"I'm not sure that's much motivation for me to ask ya to dance, Phe," TJ tipped his head at her. Clearly he'd ask her later anyway. Or, rather, she'd drag him and he'd happily go along. "You're being a girl tonight. It's cute." |
Quote:
"Besides." She sipped more champagne, "I know I'm cute. I'm adorable." |
Quote:
"You know what I mean." She was being a girl girl. With the flitting and compliments and attention-mongering. "But your BEING a girl hadn't slipped my notice." TJ gave her a look. Noooo ma'am, it hadn't. "You're just flaunting it, 's all." Yeah yeah yeah. TJ shook his head at her. ...And tried to push her chair away again. |
Quote:
"You're going the wrong way, didn't you know?" Sigh. Fine. Phe stood up and planted herself on his lap. Try to push her away NOW! |

Lifting the box, Mason held it between them just as he saw Medea pull a silver ring out of her purse. He stopped, waiting for her to continue. But she didn't. His eyes flashed up to hers. Well, now that she had stopped... Mason slid off his chair and got down on one knee. He held the small, black box in front of him and Medea. His Cora. "I'm a somewhat traditional bloke, and this isn't at all what I had planned. We're pretty far from tradition, you and me. But... I know I love you. And that you are the one for me, Cora." And then there he went. Opening the box to reveal a sparkly ring, Mason put one of his hands on Medea's. "Will you marry me?" |
Lis's arm was hooked through Theo's as she weaved her way (gracefully of course) through the crowd, pulling Theo along with her. He had to be use to it by now. What they had only known each other for... oh wow, were they that old already? .. She finally found what she was looking for and took a seat, not waiting for Theo to pull out her chair or anything, because this was absolutely not a date. The only reason she had brought him along, besides the fact he was great company, was she really didn't want to show up to a Ministry ball, her first one ever to be exact, without a date Turning towards Theo she flashed him a smile, and pushed a brown curl behind her ear. When she had got her invitation she just couldn't resist, normally she was pretty down to earth, but she couldn't pass up an opportunity to get all dressed up. She had even went shopping, and she didn't do that often. As she was eyeing the room, admiring the elegance of it, all the people twirling around, jewels, dresses, suddenly she was popped out of her trance. "Well I guess this is pretty impressive, but I have to admit being the Ministry and all I expected more from them.." he tried to say as seriously as possible, but a smile played on his lips. Felicity gave a light laugh, playfulling shoving his arm, "Coming from the man who refused to wear a tie, and who's idea of formal is khaki pants." "hey.." he started defensively, smoothing out his suit, but there was that smile again. Felicity looked back out around the ballroom, hoping to see a coworker or two. But she didn't recognize anyone. Well she had only been working here for a little over a month, and she rarely ventured out of the confines of level four, maybe she'd introduce herself... but that could wait. Theo noticed her staring and followed her gaze to the crowd, "See anyone you know? I'm sure your just dying to introduce me to all your Ministry friends." She wished she could wipe the smirk off his face, but etiher way it made her smile, ".. If by friends you mean the hounds, then I'm sure they'd love to meet you. Just be careful of the teeth." She said with her own smirk, this was how they talked, friendly banter. But they could be serious too, he looked at her, knowing her too well. "Don't tell me the Felicity Mcloughlin hasn't befriended any of her coworkers." She smiled, "Not me" she said dramatically, then sighed "Well no, of course I have... But you know me, I never really get close to anyone.." She stopped herself there, this wasn't the time or place. Don was with a baby sitter, she was at a party, and there was a dance floor. She was going to enjoy herself. She grabbed Theo's hand, "May I have this dance?" she asked playfully. "You most certainly can" he said pulling her out onto the floor. |

Medea was shocked to see Mason on his knee with a ring asking her to marry him. This was so unlike him. He held her left hand, while in her right hand she held his ring. Medea couldn’t believe her eyes; they both were set to propose tonight. The odds of that happening are so unlikely; it’s almost as if someone had scripted the whole event. Either way she was elated. She sat there motionless, seconds passed although they felt like minutes. ”Yes. Of course Leo.” Medea wasn’t sure what to do next, but the weight of the world had indeed been lifted off her shoulders. ”I was going to ask you the same.” She motioned to the ring with black diamonds still in her grasp. |

Mason waited for hours it seemed, even though he new it was only seconds, until she finally said yes. The biggest of grins appeared on his face. He took her left hand and slid the diamond ring onto her ring finger. It looked perfect. She looked perfect. Looking at the silver and black ring in her hand, Mason shook his head with a smile. "I should have known. Was I taking too long to ask?" He teased with a light chuckle. |

Thinking about Japan made him frown slightly, and it was a frown that was then matched by his brow furrowing when she asked why he wasn't dancing. "Afraid that I haven't felt like dancing this evening," he said with a small smile. "I've got too much on my mind. The good and the bad." He took a seat beside her and kicked his right leg up over his left. "I should be asking you the same question." |
Quote:
"Dance first, nap later," she agreed, setting down the plate at a free table. "I'm going to soak up all the experiences I can now, so I can tell them to my sister later." And convince said sister that getting a job meant awesome parties like this one. |
"And how old is this sister? Is she young enough that balls still seem interesting and romantic? Or is she old enough to require descriptions of all the dresses you saw and how charming I was and whether the music was decent or not?" He set his own plate down when they reached the table and hovered a moment to see if Morrigan needed assistance before pulling out her chair. "My sister is here, so... I guess I don't have anyone to tell. Maybe my niece. She's five." |
Quote:
She accepted his offer of a chair, taking care to smooth her dress before sitting. Failing to do so was a mistake she'd only had to make once, "Thank you. Are you going to tell your niece about cake-pops? I bet she'd love them." |
Quote:
If she would go out with him, of course. "My poor niece doesn't get much sugar. Cadey regulates her diet." |
