There's this corner which is something special and unique. Everyone calls it as a Musical corner. You can take a halt and relax yourself in some amazing wizarding music as much as you want. All you have to do is to touch the particular stone on the wall which has an embossed musical instruement on it. Come on..touch it and enjoy!

Chris found himself aimlessly walking along a corridor with the walls being embossed by musical instrument on it. He curiously stopped in front of a violin instrument embossed on the wall. He started lingering his fingers on the embossed wall indulgently and quite unexpectedly, a sweet melodious music pricked his ears.

Wow this is great, Chris exclaimed inwardly with his eyes focused at the wall. He should have known that the 'new' ministry has great futures like the Music Corner. Well, he supposed that he would gonna be roaming around the ministry for leisure and fun.

Briony found herself enter one of the new halls of the Ministry. She had been exploring a lot of the new add-ons lately. Her Division Headness was important but she figured Ryan wouldn't miss her that much. She looked at the wall of the corridor. It had stones of musical instruments. She lightly placed her hand on the flute she found and it made a high pitch melody. She took her hand off and smiled.

Then she turned toward a man standing nearby. She took a few steps toward him and placed a hand on a clarinet. Briony took her hand off it and turned to face him. "The remodeling sure has done wonders on this place. Definitely not the Ministry I knew when signing up," she said with her half French, half English accent. She gave him a soft smile. "I'm Briony Whitehall by the way. I'm a Division Head in the Education Department," the woman added. Now a days she went out of her way to talk to people.

Chris was a bit startled as he started hearing other sounds aside from the sound of the Violin and then a woman who must be the one that touch an instrument talked to him. He turned to her with a smile and said in his rich half-french accent, "Yeah. Whoever who has come up with this idea must be a really great person," he paused, taking his fingers off of the wall. "I hope you don't mind but as your accent tells.. You're a part french, aren't you?" matter-of-factly, Chris was half-french too, having a biological french mother and all.

"And I'm Christopher Greenleaf, Division Head of Magical Security," He introduced himself, returned her soft smile, and then offered his hand for a cozy handshake. It was really a good thing to go out and meet other people. Chris haven't met other ministry employees yet so what a fine oppurtunity to meet the woman.

"I hear the Minster gets bored easily," she replied, remembering that Ryan had came up with that theory. Of course that obviously wasn't the reason but it was funny to think it. She was surprised to find he was half-french too. She didn't know many people with the awesome accent that came along with it. Unless you counted her family. "Yep. My Mum's french. We share the same accent I believe," she mused, liking the way he stated it matter-of-factly.

"Nice to meet you Christopher," Briony smiled, taking his hand and shaking it. "Do you go by Chris?" she wondered, knowing most people with names that long shortened them. Then again some just liked keeping them long. "We also share the same role in the Ministry," she added, upon hearing he was a Division Head as well. She hadn't come across those who were Division Heads. Or maybe she had and just didn't realize it.

Chris chuckled to that, wondering who has come up with that humurous idea that the Ministry gets bored easily. Well, there was this other part of him that wanted to second that theory. His job as a division head wasn't that much eventful although the big break he'd had so far was keeping the vast wizarding community safe during the Quidditch World Cup and he couldn't have done that--of course--if it weren't because of the ministry people themselves. "Ah, My mother's a french and my father's a british. So I'm a half-french as well." he smiled at her broadly as he took a glimpse around.

"Pleased to meet you as well," he said as he nodded a bit and then smiled at her, "Sure thing. Chris is my nickname actually," mumbled he while rubbing the back of his neck. "And yeah. It's really nice to meet you Briony, I've been working on ministry for months but, I don't know much people around yet." he confided, having a feeling that he and Briony would be good friends.

She grinned as he chuckled. Briony hardly knew what Ryan was thinking all the time. Of course he was older than her and had more experience in work stuff, but at the same time he was nosy and liked to make stuff up that she couldn't believe he would dare say. She liked him better than the last scary Division Head. "My family has a tendency of marrying into veela families. I was fortunate enough not to have a mother who was part veela. Both of my brother's have part veela wives," she explained, knowing her niece didn't like have veela blood in her. It was the reason most Whitehall's were known to be half French, half British.

She nodded and crossed her arms against her chest. "That's what I guessed," she figured as he said Chris was his nickname. She had a feeling the two were over killing it with smiles. "Same here. I'm not one to talk to tons of people. How long have you been here?" she wondered, knowing he probably beat her. Since she only started last June.

He just nodded as she confided things about her family. Well, that was great she wasn't a part veela so she wouldn't turn into a 'harpy' when she get angry. Chris inwardly chuckled to that. "Well, my mother is just a plain witch and so do my father. But umm, since I was born, they were both living as simple but rather rich muggles. I had no idea what their problem were about living as wizards and witches but now I know," And he had no plan about telling the reason to her.

Chris smiled broadly while ruffling his hair a bit. "And that proves that my name falls under the common name category," He smirked. He liked his name but well, many people have the same name and it was getting so common and typical. "I've been a division head for umm, a year and a half I think. I was a Law Enforcement employee for 6 months.. and then I've got promoted and now, I'm a division head for 6 months. Notwithstanding, I still don't know much people around 'cause maybe, I'm not that sociable." He ventured. Well, that was so, so true. The only people he was friends with was the two department head friends who were a married couple, Brian and Becca and the other was his co-workers on Level 8 of course.

Briony listened to what he had to say about his parents. She tugged on the end of her jacket subconsciously. "Your parents never told you they were wizards?" she questioned, in a little disbelief. From day one of when she understood stuff, dad and mum taught her all about potioneering. He didn't seem to want to go on about why his parents never told him. Which she could understand a little. She hated her parents for most of her life. She had a horrible childhood and didn't like chatting about it.

She giggled and gave a shrug. "Having a common name never hurt anyone. My nephews all have boring names. Besides, I like Chris. It suits you," she told him, observing his face and features with her hazel eyes. "I've been a Division Head for four months in the Education Department, once a common employee for five. When I moved back to England, and applied for a job, I was the Liason for the Education Department. Back when they still had Liasons," she explained, after listening to him mention his background here at the Ministry. Her time at a Liason was short. Only about a month or two. "I don't know many people either. Just those in my department and a couple in the Magical Creatures and Beasts," Briony mentioned.

"Ah. No, they did. They just didn't tell me they were 'magical' till I turned eleven. And I was wondering why we were living as simple muggles when we could live much conveniently as magical people but as I said, I know the reason now." He smiled at Briony as he stopped talking for a while to listen to her who was now talking about her past jobs and such.

He blushed a little when she said she liked the name Chris for him 'cause it suited him pretty well. Well, she was actually right. All he had to say to her was 'Thanks' and hoping she didn't noticed that he blushed a little. And he thought he should ask about something different. Not just all about works and all. Maybe he should ask her interests too. "Er. I hope you don't mind me asking," he looked at her with an eager gaze, searching for Briony's any sign of being confused but gladly, she had not. "Do you have a boyfriend?"

Briony nodded at his words. "I hope I don't sound like I'm prying and you don't have to answer it, but why didn't they?" she asked them. Wouldn't it be obvious to take glory in using your wand day to day? She liked muggles, just they could be so boring. Wands were something special because wizards weren't common. Maybe not in her world but the muggle community.

A small grin met her lips as she saw him turn slightly red. So she had made him blushed. That was something new to her honestly. Then he asked if she had a boyfriend and she stiffened slightly. She didn't have a boyfriend anymore. She had broken it off with Charlie weeks ago, saying they needed a break from each other and to see different people maybe. "No," she stated, shaking her head slightly. "I did. For a while. I'm still young though and the future holds a plan for me, which doesn't include my former boyfriend, even though I believed for a while he was the one." Maybe she had made the right decision. It confused her. "Do you have a girlfriend?" He probably did. He was very attractive.

Chris didn't know how to put his answer into words about Briony's question about his family. Well, he sure was in liberty to tell any of his friends about his family history but still, wasn't it awkward to talk about something too personal to someone he'd just met. Anyway, he had really good vibes about Briony. He really liked her and it would be okay to tell her more personal things.

"No you don't. It's really a long story. My Dad is half-muggle, half-wizard and my Mom's a pureblood. My Mom's family didn't like Dad 'cause he's a half-blood so my parents just moved into the muggle world to live like muggles, to stay away from Mom's parents who wanted to keep Mom away from Dad." Chris said quite epically, his face manifested no anger or any sign of dismay and then he continued, "but now, Mom's parents are quite okay with Dad now. They became close actually; Mom's parents did even offered us to live with them but Dad refused 'cause he and Mom got used to live as muggles and since they told me about my wizardry, they started using their magic again." Chris finished as he smiled at her.

And then once again, flushed a little when Briony asked if she have a girlfriend, "I don't have any girlfriend. Since school days. Although there were numerous girls that was flocking around me, I didn't find someone whom I can really love truly for I found some of them quite flirtatious and all," he confessed truthfully as he gave her a sweet smile, "I'm glad you don't have a boyfriend by the way," he mumbled, his words were almost inaudible.

Briony listened as he spoke about the story of why his parent's hadn't used magic until he went to school. "Wow, that's a lot for a pureblood to give up," she said, after he had finished. It would be torture for one of her parent's to give up their magical powers. "I'm glad everything got worked out though between her parents and your dad. It would have been a shame if it hadn't," she mused, thinking about her family. They had torn apart. She never fully forgave her brother and parents for good reason.

She smiled as he said he didn't have a girlfriend. Then he mentioned he was glad she didn't have a boyfriend and it was her turn to blush. When she blushed she turned very pink. "Girls can be very flirtatious," she began. "But I'm not like most girls," she finished with a little grin. She had never been like girls at school to be honest.

"Did you go to Hogwarts?" she asked him, knowing that the answers she heard usually were 'No I went to...' and they said Durmstrang or some school in America. Did he feel like she was asking too many questions? She didn't know.

What she said was right. His mom confessed that she'd had a hard time living as a muggle without using her precious wand but as time passed, she has got used to it. "Yeah. For Dad, that's really a pleasant happening in his life. And umm, mind if you tell me about your family history?" he asked enthusiastically. He really wanted to know the girl more and he was wondering what kind of family Briony came from.

Chris noticed Briony's apparent blushing. With that blushes and all, it would just make things between them feel awkward so maybe, he shouldn't be asking about Briony's past relationships and all. "I'm know," he smiled at her broadly and affectionately as she said she wasn't one of those flirtatious girls.

"I did. From 1th year to 7th year." he answered matter-of-factly. Seeing that he was a half-french and had been living in France, he could have studied in Beauxbatons but decided not to because well, he thought studying in Hogwarts is far better than any wizarding schools around. "How about you?"

Briony sighed as he asked about her family history. She knew he was going to ask sooner or later. Her life as a child had been terrible. "I suppose," she nodded at his question. "My family had always been potioneers. For as long as I remember. So explosions were always common in my house." Not that anyone ever got seriously hurt. "At school, I made to grades always and spent a large amount of time in the library," she continued, knowing that she had hardly had a life. "I had three siblings, Callum had already graduated by the time I was a fifth year, Warren was a year younger than me, and I had a sister named Gracie, who was two years younger than me," she continued. Her throat tightened as she continued. She had to tell him what her family had been like. "Uh, my sister died when she was thirteen. I found her in a hallway at school. She had suffered one of her seizures. After that Warren stopped talking to me and I could even tell my parents thought it was some of my fault," she sighed, remembering all of this awfulness she went through. "When I graduated I went to America with my niece for two years to escape the past. I worked as a muggle at a bookshop in New York. Then--more things happened and we moved to Boston. Finally I moved back and got a job here. My mum past away last summer but everything had been settled between us," she finished. She could add more but she felt like she would be seeing more of Chris eventually.

A smile met her face as he said he knew. She hadn't been one to talk about people she dated because truthfully she had only dated Charlie.

"I went to Hogwarts too. I was a Hufflepuff. Though I should have been a Ravenclaw it seems. With all the time I spent working on school work," she replied with a shrug. "You're one of the few people I found who went to Hogwarts."

Cedric gave her a sympathizing look as she told him about her past and he was quite glad that she told him that. He wanted to know things about her of course and it was like heartwarming 'cause he had already established a trust in Briony. "I'm sorry to hear that, and I'm glad things had been settled." said he softly as he put his hand on her shoulder, expressing sympathy and he hoped Briony wouldn't mind the texture.

He smiled as she smiled, he thought she kinda liked her. He didn't really know but he just actually liked the girl. Maybe because Briony has all the things a man could ever wish for a wife.

"Oh, I was a Ravenclaw. And I doubt that," he smirked as he continued talking, "This is magical London after all. People here usually has Hogwarts as their alma mater."

"Yes, thanks," she nodded, and was quite surprised when he put a hand on her shoulder. Not many peoples touch could create butterflies in her stomach. "Then again, it's not like my family doesn't already have enough problems," Briony added sarcastically. Her family did have a lot of issues. Maybe it was because there were too many veela families.

"No I'm serious," she chuckled as he said more people went to Hogwarts. "The only person I've found went to Hogwarts was my ex-boyfriend. Other than that I've heard a lot of Beaxbatons, Durmstrang, or some school in America for wizards. I usually bring the topic up when I meet someone as well," she explained. Some went there last two years or something but none really all 7.

"Oh, When is your family by the way? Are they living with you?" asked he, hoping that Briony wouldn't think he was inquiring too much but well, with all of those questions and such, the girl might probably think that he was having an interest on her. Since he started working on the ministry, no one could ever make him blush, he didn't know why he blushed a while ago. He couldn't understand some love things yet.

"Oh, well, most of my colleagues came from Hogwarts. I dunno why graduates from other magical school came here to work. They has their own ministry of magic." he ventured thoughtfully but his voice didn't have any tone of disgust. "Maybe it's because magical London are one of the most innovated magical country amongst other nations and one of the most controversial as well..."

Briony shook her head. "My dad still lives in France, along with both of my brothers. I live in an apartment in downtown London," she explained. She didn't really want to live near the rest of the family. This was finally her chance to be free from them and just live by herself even though it could get lonely some of the time. "How about you? Where do you live?" she asked, directing the question back at him. It's not that she was upset with answering questions he asked. If they were somehow going to make this work he would have to find out eventually.

"Yeah I know what you mean. My older brother works in the Ministry but apparates here from France everyday. He never liked the Ministry in France," Briony told him. She could understand why. It was because Callum could hardly speak french anymore. Which surprised her very much considering his wife spoke it nonstop. "Sounds like it," came her voice of agreement.

Chris was kind of wondering before why Briony wasn't living with her family but well, he knew the reason now. He loved how the two of them could talk about personal things without being awkward. And so if Briony lived in London like him, there might be a fat chance that they could always go around with each other. "I live in London, too. On an apartment near the telephone booth which we use to go to the ministry," answered he as he smiled, hoping that they would often see each other around.

"Ugh, what's wrong about the Ministry in France?" he asked, wondering what was the problem at the said ministry.

Briony smiled. This was sort of rare she would talk with someone like this. But she was really starting to like him and had a feeling they would see more of each other. "Then I'm sure we'll be running into each other often," she mused, looking at him with a grin. "Speaking of which you should drop by sometime." It wasn't often she could invite someone to her apartment considering it was so big and worth a great sum of money now that it had been renovated.

"Oh nothing is. Just, Callum can't speak french fluently anymore so he can't understand what everyone's saying," she admitted. "My sister-in-law speaks in all the time. Its quite sad he can't," she said sarcastically, rolling her eyes. Allaire had everything a women could ever ask for. The looks, job, family. Shocking really. She had a really bad temper though. Thanks to her veela blood.

Chris chuckled as she said they would be running into each other often. He really liked the idea. Seeing her more often would always be his best moments. "Oh, yeah. Surely." He grinned back, and then paused for a while to take a look on his wristwatch. Oh jeez, why do he have to go back to work when he's really enjoying his time with Briony? Okay, ten minutes more and he'd better go.

"Ah. I wonder why's that. I mean why your brother can't speak french fluently anymore. I though once you has learned a language, you would know it by heart and all," he smiled and smirked inwardly as she rolled her eyes.

"My nephews have been a bad influence on his language. Our dad was English though and didn't speak as French as much as mum," she explained. Callum was smart and all but he just didn't like talking French anymore. Maybe their mum had driven it too hard in their heads. She looked down at the watch she wore and realized Ryan was going to start asking questions if she was gone any longer.

"I really hate to say this but I should get going. My co-Division Head seems he can't get his head out of other people's business," Briony chuckled. She sighed and looked at him with a smile. "Any chance we can meet up somewhere again?" she questioned.

"Ah," he just said in agreement as he glanced at her with a fixed gaze. "Oh. That's okay, I understand; I'd better be going as well," he smiled at she and smiled once again as Briony would seemingly like to see him again. "That's for sure, Briony." Honestly, the two would always really see each other now that, he didn't have much work to do and all.

"Great," she grinned, blushing slightly when his gaze was on her. She was glad the summer was almost here because it meant nice weather which brought walking to work and picnics. "So here's where I live." She took the back of his hand and wrote 14 Rosewood Road. "It's in London like I mentioned." Time was ticking and she really hated to go back and watch her employees act mental. "I guess this is goodbye for now," Briony gave him a smile.
