And now she was on about her father, and it made him feel slightly uncomfortable. He never did well with the elderly. They all seemed so frail and near death and from the few things Phe had told him about her dad, he was sick. In Holden's mind, that meant he was almost gone for good. "I suppose," he said simply, not sure what else to comment on the subject.
Again, the dark-haired man shrugged. "I didn't know that was an invitation." Maybe he would have said yes. MAYBE. But then again, he kinda did have to take her skiing, right? He always liked taking new people. Only because new skiers and snowboarders often fell, and it was an enjoyable source of entertainment.
"A reward?!" Ophelia didn't know if she should be amused, shocked or offended by that. She just laughed though. Just laughed. What else was there to do?
"Sounds like you like me." She pointed out. If she were less mature, she'd totally tease him like they were in second year again. But she just left it at that. He was an odd one, though. He hardly made any sense.
"That would mean risking the unknown in Texas, a place that you totally think sounds horrible." She pointed this out, shifting the plate in her hand... it was probably getting cold. She should get it to TJ soon.

She shifted the plate again, doing a bit of wandwork to reheat the food. Cold food was bad. Bad idea, Phe. "I should be getting back to my date. If I leave him too long, he might find someone else."
Haha. Naah. She knew TJ wouldn't bail on her.
"Maybe I will see you around at some point." She shrugged. You never knew what was going to happen. "Hang on to that award." Cause Phe didn't need it. "That way, you will remember me." She grinned and stepped around him, and with a wave, she headed back towards the tables.

Holding Medea's hand, he approached the heavenly table. This probably wasn't good, but he was eager to get away from the tension of the discussion he and Medea just had. They could save that for later, though. He didn't really want to think about the possibility of cold feet yet.
"What looks good to you?" Mason asked Medea, grabbing a plate and handing it to her. Chivalry and that stuff. Kind of. Good enough. Scooping some lasagna onto his plate, he turned back to her. "Want some?"
Elizabeth nodded and smiled, "Will do. I have a bunch of different venues. My full title is techinally Ambassador to Magicial Countries." She laughed, "So i get to go to Haven, Atlantis and places like that." Elizabeth smiled. "I like it here better than the ministry in my homeland of France." She tried a piece of toffee, "If you don't mind me asking, where do you come from?"
"Oh that is quite the title." he chuckled at her original question of which specific country. It seemed she was a woman who would oversee many countries, not just one. She must be a very trusted worker by her Department Head.
"I've never been to Atlantis, is it nice?" she asked curiously, drinking more champagne. This would be her last flute for the night and she would switch to water after this.
Did she mind if she asked where she was from? "Of course not dear." She liked to talk about where she was from. It wasn't too harmful such as past relationships or something. "Well I was born and raised in the United States. I then went to Beuxbatons for schooling and then next got an internship at the French Ministry in the Broom Regulation division. After a summer there, I was hired on full time at the German Ministry as their Broom Regulatory Division Head." She sighed, that was not her favorite job but it was good. "Then I was asked by your minister, well I guess he's my Minister now too, to become the new Transportation head here!" It really was wonderful timing.
Oh the speeches were beginning, and the American woman who Inez had bumped into earlier was doing well....until she began to sing. Oh she hoped that hadn't been planned. She turned back to the kind woman she had been speaking to. "Oh you'll have to forgive me, I am needed on the stage. Feel free to come visit me at my office. We should do lunch or something. Have a good evening!" she then turned to her new collegue, and prepared herself to leave.

He turned to Inez and said "I think that's our cue to join them up there." he said angling his head then made his way through the crowd towards the stage.
"Yes I am, fresh and ready for the challenge." Inez joked with a smile on her lips, her white teeth just visible. It was interesting to hear that Corin had once been a part of her new department. "Oh so I won't be your boss?" she teased, a small, fake frown forming on her face. "Which division where you a part of Corin?" It was always nice to see which section of Transportation interested others. They were all fascinating of course.
"Oh my, we must hurry shouldn't we?" she said placing a hand on her chest, suddenly nervous again. As he began to head off in that direction she steadied herself, lifted the bottom of her dress, and then headed off to the stage.

"It does..." Tasha knew that how picky Isobel was about her food. So, the blonde wasn't going to eat that much food really. She liked knowing that she liked everything. "But you know how picky I am..." She grinned at her sister. She wouldn't even have that much silly ice cream. Yes, Isobel was rather picky.
"Are you calling my collegues zoo animals?" Isobel asked, with a grin. Some of them probably were actually. "You need someone to lead you through the crowd." Isobel had Wesley, which was quite good for her actually.

"I thought you couldn't make it sweetie." Elizabeth smiled, "So glad that you came. Adam has been bothering me all night. Do you remember our old friend?"
Elizabeth felt a kiss on her cheek, and was about to slap the person, thinking it was Adam when she saw that it was her husband. She smiled. She kissed him and hugged him. "I thought you couldn't make it sweetie." Elizabeth smiled, "So glad that you came. Adam has been bothering me all night. Do you remember our old friend?"
