''Right.''Sometimes he didn't understand her.''So am I but If I have to eat Meat then I have little bits of it.''He said frowning.

He turned his head at the direction of dish she mentioned. "Salmon and asparagus, definitely will give that a try." he nodded, quickly sizing up how much he can take without embarrassing himself. He was very much a seafood-veggie guy, but he is also well aware that he can no longer pass as some punk teen that can unashamedly stuff their faces in.

He turned his head to look at her again when she mentioned about desserts "'Bit of a sweet tooth are you?" he grinned, reading her smile she looks to be big on desserts "Which one from those are your favorite?" he asked angling his head towards the dessert spread.

He held out his hand and shook hers solidly but gently "Pleased to meet you Inez, I'm Corin Vanderbilt, formerly with the Transportation Department, now with Mysteries."

"Okay," that made reeeeeeeal sense. He ate meat, but was a vegetarian. Hmm. Meh, never mind.

''So your brother seems very interesting.''He said grinning.Not man people got his Vegetarianess.

"What? You mean he's a complete git? 'Cause if that's what you mean, I agree," she scowled at Max's ignorance. "He's got no heart, that's what's wrong."

''Yeah,But I don't want to be rude or anything.''He said smiling.''Same with my Brothers.''

"Meh, don't worry. You know I hate him," she grinned. "How brothers are, eh?" Becky added when she heard Tim's last thing to say.

Laurie sipped at her champagne watching Dorian with an amused smirk. See they could have a nice conversation unlike some people in MLE. Hearing his answer to her question she smiled. Reading. He looked like a reader because then he didn't have to talk to anyone. HA. They were alike...scary thought that. "I read as well but..." she looked away and stared at the crowded room. "I paint." More of a stress reliever really but it worked. Most people, like her mother, didn't understand her fascination with it. She doubt Dorian would as well but it was the one thing that was hers.

Taking a sip of her drink again she glanced back at him. "Your turn. Ask me a question." There turn the tables on him. At least then he wouldn't thinks he was just prying for information.

Elizabeth glanced at the spread, "Hmmm probably the chocolate covered strawberries or if you aren't in the mood for sweets then maybe the lobster." She smiled at the lady but only got a cup of lemondae, "I'm Elizabeth by the way. I work up in International as an ambassador."

''Alright then.''He said laughing.''Hate them,so annoying.''He said frowning.Hated them.

There was no way she was eating chocolate-covered strawberries in this dress (no matter how much she liked them!). " So I guess lobster it is then," she said, placing some on her plate. " I'm Roxi, I work in the MLE. Ministry Legislator." She grabbed a glass of the butterbeer. "Well, I'm going to take this," she said, indicating her plate and drink, "and head to the seating area. Pleasure meeting you, have a nice time!"

Ms. Grey. And the woman was so polite.

"Oh do call me Inez, we are at a party after all." she grinned a litte, with a scrunch of her nose. Besides, with the information spoken right after the girl calling her such a proper name, Inez wasn't her boss.

"Oh an Ambassador? Any specific country of work, or many different venues?" she asked curiously. It would be nice to hear Germany as her answer, it was so nice there.
She blushed a little bit as he picked up on her love of desserts from her giving him a bit too much information as she munched on the chocolate covered strawberries. "I am." It was nice that he wasn't poking fun at her about it though. Her ex never liked her to eat sweets.

"Well," she said taking her time to look over each of the dishes--it wouldn't do well to overlook one. "If I were to do my dessert over I would pick the devil's food cake over there or the crembrule!" she hadn't even seen that last dish before. *pout*

Turning back to face the man as he decided to introduce himself. 'Enough with the desserts Inez, be normal.' she hissed at herself.

"Oh you are a Department Head too and from Transportation?" She asked excitedly and then pointed at herself. "I am the new Transportation Department Head." It was so good to finally meet one of her new collegues. "How weird is this?" she asked with a chuckle.

"Pleasure meeting you too and have a nice time also." She smiled.

Elizabeth nodded and smiled, "Will do. I have a bunch of different venues. My full title is techinally Ambassador to Magicial Countries." She laughed, "So i get to go to Haven, Atlantis and places like that." Elizabeth smiled. "I like it here better than the ministry in my homeland of France." She tried a piece of toffee, "If you don't mind me asking, where do you come from?"

Things were obviously going on around them, but Dorian generally only paid the slightest bit of attention. It was enough that he was still aware, as he always was, but it meant he wasn't pat to have anyone expect much of him. Not fro now, at least, even if it was irritating to Laurie the impromptu escort. At least she'd seemed amused at his response to her question, which gave him a brief moment or two to once again think back on work. Celebrating like this when he knew the real instigator was stil out there just seemed off, even if nobody else shared his paranoia. He'd raised an eyebrow again at her qualifier, however. Now the tables were turned, and it seemed she was trying to avoid the topic. Interesting, he thought, even as she finished the sentence.

"Painting is nothing to be ashamed of. Creativity," he commented idly, watching her for a second. He'd never really had the patience or the talent for it, but then Gabriel had always distracted him, even before the disastrous spell attempt and the fallout. Not to mention Gwendolyn, who he'd always thought should have been an artist. But he was oddly grateful as Laurie had spoken again, breaking through the memories trying to break free again. "What made you decide to become a prosecutor? Why not just focus on art?," he asked, completely without any underlying intent. Even though he'd avoided basically the same when it had been asked of himself.

"At least they have a heart. Unlike Max," she scowled again, her eyes turning red (literally- she's a metamorphmagus) with anger.

''Alright then,But my Brother's Wife died of 13 Years and has a child and after three weeks is together with another woman.''He paused continuing''He never told the child until 9 weeks after they were together,'Til this day forward The kid never speaks to his father.''He explained.

"Born ready." It was said with quite a healthy dose of gusto, helped along by the idea of cake. For whatever reason, her metabolism thought it was living inside a teenage boy, and it could run on that mistaken thought for the rest of her life without Morrigan minding.

She kept her arm on his as they walked, using him as a sort of guide-person while she looked around at all the pretty on display. That wasn't limited to people, either: decorations, food arrangements... it all looked so completely not like it normally did.

"I'm willing to bet they have everything here." Even as she turned her attention back to Rhys and grinned, she got distracted by the chocolate fountain, "Oh wow, want."

Rhys got the impression that Morrigan's wide eyed act wasn't precisely an act. She was genuinely excited about everything in the entire world. It was sort of... charming. He grinned at her.

"Everything, huh? That's a pretty tall order for the caterer, but I don't see anything lacking at this point. I bet you're going to start with dessert, aren't you?"

"Aren't you?" That anyone could look at the feast of food in front of them and not sneak a piece of dessert right off the bat surprised and baffled her. Thinking that perhaps she didn't know anything all that much about her date just yet, she added, "Maybe I won't, though. Maybe I'll start with..."

There was something that was purple, in a cupcake cup, and surrounded by enough not-dessert foods that she made the connection it wasn't for dessert either, "...whatever... that is..."

"You... should stick with foods you recognize, or at least the basic ingredients are recognizable," Rhys caught up her hand in his and gave it a squeeze. "Unless you have a really brave palate. Oh, meatballs in crazy sauces. Those seem... safe." Assuming the meat wasn't some unusual magical creature.

"Let's start with dessert, actually. You can pick mine." He was SO generous... plus she'd then be able to get twice as much - her own plate, plus bites of his.

Melanie entered the buffet table with a very uncomfortable growling stomach. Since she left Jason at the entrance hall with the strange man, she thought it was time to get some food to eat. It was also a good time to make some new friends from the Ministry. She looked around to see if she could make any acquaintances with anyone.

"And you can pick my not-dessert," she offered right back, giving his hand a return-squeeze before releasing it and beginning her task. Rhys seemed to have more sense of what all the strange foods were, though meatballs were something she recognized, as was the lasagna. But really, when she thought of a Ball with dancing, lasagna didn't seem the cleanest option.

In short order she'd assembled several chocolate-covered cake-pops, stuck pieces of fruit on them, dipped them in the fountain a second time, and then grabbed a coconut-shavings-covered square. Holding said square upside-down, rather like a pepper shaker, she shook it back and forth until the majority of the coconut shavings were on the cake-pop instead.

Then, she presented the first of the treats to him with unnecessary flourish, "For you. Please just eat it and don't look at it."

"No, I'm going to look," Rhys insisted, grinning again. He'd just watched the entire show of preparing it, after all, and Morrigan was dead amusing. At all times. He turned the whole concoction around before taking a messy drippy bite. Somehow, miraculously, he got no chocolate on his nicely pressed dress shirt, although Morrigan got a sticky smile.

"Yum. You're a good cook. I'd like to see you in a kitchen, actually." She'd be the type to add cornflakes to a dish for texture.

"I'll have to have you over some time. I don't think you'd want Hurricane Morrigan in your kitchen." She eyed up her own cake-pop, wondering how exactly she was supposed to eat it. After all, she had makeup to worry about.

Making an executive decision, she stated, "I'll just let mine dry a little more first."

Problem solved.

"I would probably have to nail down the furniture and reenforce all the windows, but I think that my kitchen could handle it," Rhys insisted, taking another messy bite and making a show of enjoying it. See, Morrigan? Someone makes good cake stuffs.

"Let's get your plate all filled up and we can try to find you a dark corner where no one will notice if you end up wearing a bit of food before the napkin saves you."
