Jiya was walking through the corridor. She saw the paintings. She stopped to look at them. She really wanted to make friends.

Dacs leaned against the wall in corridor and breathed deep. It was hard seeing Ben again after so long, after what was between the two. She never realized that seeing him again would trigger an emotion that she thought was lost within.

She fought the tears hard and barely won.

Damien stepped into the corridor to wait for the hot girl to join him. Well, not girl... she was a woman. He chuckled to himself as he placed the canister of teargas potion a little ways from the door and quickly cast a a few charms on it so that it would pop the cork only when intruders came about and he also cast a strong disillusionment charm upon it. Smiling at his handy work he shifted the foeglass in his arms and then tapped it with it his wand sending it to his desk. Yeah he was going to need that.

He stroked his mustache as he tried to figure how exactly he could tweak a caterwauling charm to go off only if someone that was not from within THEIR ministry ranks came about... Interesting though. Oh man where WAS that chick? He needed to run some things by her.

After going to the office and setting her pile of stuff on what appeared to be an empty desk, Laurie walked around the corridor in search of Mr. Flirty Boy. Finding him in the hall stroking his mustache like some evil villain in one of the cartoons her brother used to watch she sighed and headed toward him. "Ok, Damien, I'm here let's get to work," she said straight forwarded and wanting to get this over with.

Turning to look at her he pointed his wand toward the ground and said, "THink we can alter a caterwauling charm to go off in the case that it is an intruder only. I set a similar charm on something by the door there and it didn't go off when you came out so I think I would be able to pull it off. What do you think?" Yeah total business mode for the moment.

Laurie watched Damien as he explained what his idea was, "Yes but what happens when someone perfectly innocent like an employees spouse or girlfriend decides to surprise them at work? Then we have an alarm going off for no reason other than to annoy us. Besides aren't caterwauling charms meant to go off for any intrusion no matter who it is so anyone coming up from another level would set it off? That charm does not distinguish friend from foe only that there is someone there that wasn't before the spell was cast." And wasn't he supposed to be the smart one?

Damien looked her with amusement clear on his face. Shaking his head he said, "How does a sneakascope work? Is it not a charmed object that detects foes? Yes it does. So what I am suggesting is a variation of a caterwauling charm. We can take a simple object... something like..." He dug through his pockets until he found a knut and then said, "This! We can place it somewhere and Disilussion it and charm it the same way as a sneakascope and make IT the object that detects Dark wizards... foes... intruders whatever. We charm it to be the catalyst for the Caterwaul. See what I am saying?" Seriously... why did people think he was so dumb sometimes?

"Trust me on this. It will work. I have been an Auror for 20 years. Including my training which I was top in my class at. I can set this place up so that no one that has evil intent can even sneeze in this general direction. Savvy?" he said in a light tone before setting a sneakascope in a potted plant and then flicking his wand at it setting the volume of the whir to maximum overload.

Laurie looked at Damien not amused at all. What was with this place? "If you had stated that before then perhaps it would have been more clear what your intentions were going to be and this entire conversation could have been avoided." Idiot. And this was she was in the position of logical one and he was muscles. UGH she was starting to get the impression that Aurors were worse than cops with their male egotism.

"Fascinating," she said blandly and watched him get to work. She'd let him do whatever he wanted since he was Mr. Perfect with his million years of experience that would suit her just fine. She kept her eyes open though for any mistake he might make even though...oh no...he couldn't possibly make one. Pfft.

Damien made a PFFFFT noise toward her and set back to work setting up little charms here and there. Yeah... like trying to explain that to her the FIRST time would have made a difference. Suuuuure. Women. Then he stood up and got a dark look.

"Look you might think I am crazy... but can you move so that you are not at my back. To the side of me would be fine. Just enough that you are at least in my perephrial vision, please. And no I will not take the time to explain why." Just do it or go back to the offices so I can do my job, he thought. He was really not in a trusting mood right now... not one bit.

"Got any ideas for setting up the perimeter. I say we move on to other areas. The corridor is as secure as it will get," he said with a self assured tone.

Laurie gave off a chuckle as she heard the start of Damien's little speech. Yup got that one right. Man she really didn't like him and at first it was only because he flirted with her now she actually didn't like him. "No, I'm perfectly happy where I'm at thanks," she said with a false smile that didn't reach her eyes. "Are you always this bossy?" It wasn't like she could leave if Evander saw her at her desk he was sure to make some remark about her not cutting it again.

"I'll go with whatever you choose Obi'Wan," she said sarcastically referring to another reference that reminded her of her family.

Damien took a deep breath and closedd his eyes for one second. Turning then with cold eyes on the woman he said, "Either move into my line of sight or get back to the office. I do not want you or anyone else at my back. I can secure this place by myself if I need to. Seems you aren't much help anyway." With that he moved to the opposite side of the corridor and set off to secure the locked case files area. Women... so freaking annoying more often than not.
