Cult of Walpurgis EraAll historical records pertaining to Ministry of Magic RPG under Ministers for Magic, Alexandra Carlton [IC January 2072 - October 2073; OOC October 2010 - May 2011 ] & Lord Borr [IC October 2073 - December 2076; OOC May 2011 - December 2011]
Hawk saw the HUGE protest crowd and walked closer to get a look. It was about that clown Borr, it seemed. Hawk was tempted to continue his search for that witch, but this was equally important. How someone like BORR ever became Minister was beyond Hawks guesses.
The hunt for the murderer could continue later. Hawk doubted she'd be killing someone else very soon.
He stood in the crowd but didn't say anything yet.
Becky grabbed her box of fireworks. She let the first one up. It was gold, and exploded into loads of tiny stars. They started to spell out: Down with Borr-dom!
This was so fun.
Sabel stood on the sidelines of the protest, leaning against a wall, hands tucked deep in the pockets of his coat. His eyes skimmed over the people and the signs with a reserved interest. He had been surprised he hadn't heard about the uprising and protest, but he couldn't say he was disappointed. It was nice to see people rising against Lord Borr, taking a stand where a stand needed to be taken.
Part of him couldn't help but wonder what would happen to them, if anything was bound to happen. Would Lord Borr take a stand back, or would he let it pass? Either way, the people didn't seem concerned about the consequences and he couldn't really blame them. There was only so much threat that could force individuals to submission before rebellion started.
And while Sabel wanted to join in, he found himself waiting, watching. Perhaps it was something he had learned from Damien, to wait and bide his time rather than rushing full frontal into a potentially dangerous situation. That didn't mean he didn't want to join in, to speak up with the people, for the people, simply that it wasn't the right time. However he decided that, he wasn't sure. But it kept him in place and silent.

She'd heard about the strike, and wasn't that impressed really. Sure she didn't exactly like Borr, but she knew striking was not going to help. But she was slightly curious to see how many people have actually turned up for it. And as she stood there, she was kind of impressed by how many people had actually turned up, maybe they would make an impact. But she wasn't so impressed that one of the YATI's was there. He was striking? Really? Isobel sighed, wandering over to him. Isobel knew Evandder would not be impressed if he found out that he was here.
"Dakest..." The auror looked up at him, shaking her head. This was not the place to be really, and Isobel hoped he would understand that. "I hope you are not striking."

Sabel jumped a little at the sudden use of his name right beside him. His eyes snapped down and he almost called out his wand. He was certain that would have added to Isobel's arsenal of 'disapproving looks' and was extremely grateful that his reflexes were still in their fine tuning stages. Blinking down at the Auror, he opened his mouth a little before shutting it, his eyes flicking back to the crowd.
He hadn't given it much thought, but there was a great deal of heat in this area and the Cultists were probably counting every head. As were the Auror's apparently. Letting out a slow breath, Sabel returned his attention to Isobel and shook his head a little. His expression told of interested curiosity, but he would not say allowed that he was tempted to join. Because while tempted and action were not in line, things weren't always seen that way. "Just...crowd control." Riots could be nasty things, yes?

Taking another cookie, Maine yelled all the louder.
"OUT WITH THE BORR-DOM!" she cried. "DOWN WITH THE WALRUS!"
"OUT WITH BORR!" she smirked.
She was going to enjoy this, it wouldn't be long until Armen caught them picketing.
Rose was starting to enjoy the proceedings. It was fun to watch all these people protest but she couldn't help but cringe a little when Maine yelled.
"Erm..Maine? You might want to relax a little.." Rose gave the woman a small smile. As far as Rose knew, Armen was in some kind of a cult and she definitely did know for a fact he was a huge Borr supporter. She didn't want any of the people from her own department to get into too much trouble..not that they weren't in trouble already.

Roxi stepped out of the Ministry to go home. Yes, it was early for her to be going home, but she wasn't needed at her job. What she saw shocked her a little. A full blown picket line. With signs and everything. Down With Borr. Hmm… so she wasn't the only one who had realized how useless he was then.
She stepped off to the side to consider what she was going to do. On one hand, if she joined, she'd surely be risking her job. Which she wanted to keep. On the other hand, did she really want to stay with a Ministry where the Minister's this useless? Decisions, decisions.

EEP! Maine turned back to Rose and nodded. Riiiiiiight... Maine was high. On cactus Juice. Again.
"Sorry... But I thought I'd get it out before Armen decides to drag us away."
Deciding to NOT shout, she waved her banner around. Down with Borr-dom.

After a lot of careful thought, Roxi decided to join the line. She wasn't doing anything useful in the Ministry anyway, so what if she was fired even though she did want to stay. Maybe she'd get more assignments if Borr was gone (and she managed to keep her job).
She walked over, grabbed a sign, and joined the chanting (and screaming). "Down With Borr!"

Sabel was here for Crowd Control? Isobel eyed him. She was not buying that at all. She knew that Sabel was like her, didn't like the cult, but she had kind of hoped that he wouldn't have been so stupid to have joined a picket line. "I think thats more a security job Sabel." Because well they were aurors, they didn't really look after riots that much. Well Isobel hadn't, but then she hadn't exactly seen a riot before. She mused, folding her arms, as she watched the riot. "They seem to have a lot of support....thats a good thing." She added quietly, smiling at him. Isobel was definetly anti-clut, and sure she didn't exactly like this riot. It was probably a kind of good thing, to get there idea across.
Waait. Seriously? Isobel frowned, stepping closer to the lady that had spoken. She didn't really know her, but the woman seemed to be very into this rioting. "Us aurors are far too busy to crowd control some riot." They did have a job to do after all. "And we aren't actually against you." She added, with a smile. No, they were actually with them, they just weren't so apparant about it.

Were the Aurors with them or what?!?! He shook his head and raised his sign again
WOW! This Gina woman really wanted him gone but she was damn right people could do without an idiot of a man as the minister of magic anyone could do better but it may have never occured to the lovely lady that if Borr doesn't go that she and everyone else in this so called muggle thing 'Strike' will be fired but defintlly worth it
''DOWN WITH BORR,'' He smirked it was probably the most fun he had the minute he got to the place ''BORR NO MORE!!!,''
Rioting? Really, Alicia took that as her time to duck out. She did not want to see the look on Jax's face if he saw her or heard of her being there. Pulling her hat down to cover her hair she slipped out of the crowd. Wait - Sabel and Izzy were there.
If they saw her she was toast. Burnt black toast that would never see the table. Yup she was deep in it right now very deep.

Leo passed the picket line, just out of curiousity, but he was shocked to see so many Transportation workers there. Not only had Armen specifically forbidden it, at the risk of their jobs, but really, they had nothing to complain about! They hadn't had stupid jobs at all. Nothing really different had happened in their department. Well, they'd built a koi pond, and planted a couple of trees, but hey, they were out-doors friendly! And it hadn't taken so very long.
What surprised him most, however, was seeing Maine there. What was she doing? He could understand the twins being there, they were always up for something that might seem "fun" in the moment. But Maine? He didn't question her though, she had the right to dislike who she disliked, and protest who she wanted. It was her job she was toying with, and it was her choice. It was just a little bit of a shock for Leo.
He waved to the picketers politely on his way past, hopefully letting them know he was there so they wouldn't accidentally hit him with a firework. Or maybe, now that they knew he wasn't joining their cause, they would purposely hit him with a firecracker. Just in case, he silently cast a shield charm around himself, for added protection.

Something told Maine to turn around for a moment, and surprise, surprise. She saw Leo. But what really scarred her was the disapproving look he shot at her.
His icy glare shot a deep pain right through her heart and she had to sit down. She'd never felt so wounded, not even when her ex0husband had thrown her against the mirror.
A tear appeared at the corner of her eye to be blinked away. No more followed. What he didn't realize was that Maine wasn't completely oblivious to how the other departments suffered. Especially the MLE.
Maine had to deal with them every day, some of their crankiness could be unbearable. But the one who weren't cranky had filled her in. Besides, how do you think it'd feel to have your license revoked for no apparent reason?!
Putting her sign down, Maine rubbed her temples. The headache was terrible.
Did you just lose something? The GAME? Sorry... 'Justin Bieber, he is the man!' U mad, Felton!?
Holli jumped up and down deciding not to shout anymore. If Armen heard, he'd come out sooner, and she liked being here. She jumped up and down, waving her sign and grinning madly. Then she saw Leo and the look they got and glared, her mouth turned into a scowl.

'NOT JOINING IN, EH, LEO?' she yelled, smirking slightly, but frowning when she saw Maine sit down at the look. She knelt by her best friend and sent a glare towards him. No-one questioned her and her twin being there. Why? 'Cause they were troublemakers. That's all anyone saw them as, troublemakers, and it peed her off.
They weren't fighting for themselves. They were fighting for everyone. It just showed that they cared for others, so much so, they risked their jobs. She growled unintentionally and blinked at how she sounded. Freakin' angry. Which she hadn't felt before. She turned to Maine and gave her a hug on the floor.
Dude. The Pensevies aint got nothing on you. Aslan is the God
Erin had heard about this and though she'd tried to stop herself, she just couldn't, it was like uni protests all over again. Slowly, the blonde made her way out of the ministry, well her department and over to the protestors, carrying her placard proudly. Ah, she was going to enjoy this. She looked at the group and with a grin started waving her placard and shouting
WE DON'T WANT NO DICTATORSHIP, WE DON'T WANT NO LAW, WE DON'T WANT NO BERTY BORR! DOWN WITH BORR!!!

Sabel watched Isobel as intently as she watched him. Yeah, she got it. Understood that it was just some excuse to try and keep his nose out of trouble. Hopefully she understood he was just a bystander, and had not yet joined the riot. Something was holding him back from that, and given the looks he was getting from the Auror, he was glad whatever it was, was restraining him.
His eyes turned to the crowd as Isobel mused over their effort, a small nod leaving his head. At least, there was more support against Borr than he had predicted there to be. It gave him a little bit of hope that the Ministry could pull through.
The thoughts however were abruptly interrupted as one of the picketers came at him with a holler so loud and aggressive it had him straightening right back up against the wall. She had both startled and scared him, and put him on such edge that his fingers were flexing, ready to call his wand forward. But more than the verbal attack startled him, her words cut his thoughts to silence. She thought he was one of Borr's? The thought made him sick to his stomach and he couldn't help to glance around at the other protesters, wondering if they had heard. How could they not?
Sabel's eyes returned to the woman as Isobel confronted her, and for a long moment he said nothing. Normally, he was quite defensive on the basis of an attack, but this had been so sudden and from someone he had expected to be 'on his side' that he found himself hanging back. Even when he spoke, his voice was quiet and cautious. "You're going to get someone hurt if you keep talking like that."
No, he wasn't referring to their personal confrontation. Heated words like hers did wonders to lead a group into a frenzied state with no thought. And the consequences of that could be drastic.

Gina stepped back and held her chest visibly scared. "Is that what you are going to do? You will use force on a woman who could be your grandmother!!!" She turned to the others in the strike. "Look, sonny, I may be old, but I can fight with the best of them!" She said growling. DID YOU ALL HEAR THIS MAN THREATENING ME?!?!?!? BORR IS TRYING TO STOP OUR PROTEST BY SENDING HIS MEN TO ATTACK US!!!! IT WILL START WITH ME, AND THEN THEY WILL COME FOR YOU!!! DOWN WITH BORR!!! DOWN WITH BORRR!!!!!!!"

Well that was nice. Didn't this woman know that it was nice to speak to people who had spoken to you. And...wait a moment. Men? MEN? Isobel was not a man. Clearly. Isobel blinked, eyeing the woman. "Excuseeee me!" You will not ignore me this time. "Firstly I am not a man." Get that into your head. "And secondly even if I was a man, I would not be one of Borrs." At all. And she really didn't want to be a man either. She liked being a woman, obviously. "We are not attacking you." We aren't even shouting at you. They were simply assessing the situation. "Feel free to get on with your" Annoying "Protest....but we are going to go and do some actual work." And with that she turned around, about to head off. "Dakest office now."

Oooorrrrr she could take it like that.
Sabel blinked at the woman and sort of stared at her. Did he look like he was about to engage in a battle with a woman that most likely carried bricks in her bag? He was rash, but he wasn't that rash.
Nevertheless, the accusation made him press back against the wall tighter and for once in his life he didn't engage in a verbal retaliation. His eyes flicked to Isobel as she hounded the woman. When she instructed him back to the office he didn't even think about putting up an argument. Carefully, so the woman wouldn't think he was going for an attack, he parted from the wall and made to follow Isobel.
He hated Borr with a burning passion, and wasn't about to get mobbed in his name. Though if the misunderstanding brought more resistance against Borr, he was happy to help?
