There had been some tough times, but fun too. It definitely built lifelong connections. Even after he'd switched tracks to Hit Wizard, he and Izzy could still commiserate over the training. It really couldn't be found anywhere BUT Magical Law Enforcement. That team feeling was drilled in from the very beginning. Never leaving a man or an Izzy behind and all that.
Ooh yeah. Emily. She really was going to have an interesting time. Good thing that the girl had a good friendship with Sabel, Isobel was sure that would help. Ooh. She'd put them through there paces. "Like I put you through yours?" Yes. She still remembered their training very clearly.
It had been fun. Those carefree years. Tough but fun. She wouldn't have changed them for anything, even the way they ended really. Isobel knew that she wouldn't have been the women she was today, if she hadn't gone through everything. "Do you remember our training?" She asked with a smile. It was funny, she could talk about it now, it didn't hurt anymore. Finally....everything seemed to have settled.

"Well you always had my back, Iz." True, their training together had only been the first year of it, but it had been intensive, and that was how they had... met.
"I remember the bar." And Evander actually grinned at her. He also remembered the veritaserum afterwards. "Objective complete." Hehe. Well.
It had been.

"Always will." They were a team, and a team watched everyone's back. Even if back then it had been a personal reason to watch his back. Isobel would still do it now. They didn't exactly want their department head getting hurt...not again.
The bar. "You would remember that." Isobel rolled her eyes, still smiling at him. The bar had been interesting, the veritaserum more embarrassing. Things had definetly changed between them after that. "I think you enjoyed that a bit too much..." She hadn't enjoyed it that much. She had felt a little humiliated. Isobel had gotten over it though. Obviously.

And that was why he trusted her in Damien's job.
Merlin.
He'd have to stop thinking of it as Damien's job.
"Just doing my job, Isobel." It was the Slytherin in him. Underestimating him was most unwise. He also wasn't one to give up on his goals. His objectives. And interrogation had been one of his strong suits, even back then.
"We'll have to touch base regarding the next lot of Ministry Sanctioned training exercises when you get a chance. If you have any thoughts on which you'd like us to focus on." Surely she did.

Isobel rolled her eyes. He was good at his job though, especially at interrogation, which made her glad that he wasn't having to interrogate her. Not again. At least he would have no need to ask those questions anymore. "You were always good at interrogation..." She mused with a smile. Even though she had hated being interrogated by him, she had still noticed how good he was at it....when she wasn't decided how she was going to kill him for embarrassing her like that. Oh well, it was in the past now.
Ahh. Training exercises. She did have thoughts about what she'd like to focus on. The stuff she needed to improve on mostly. Concealment and disguise could probably be updated a little, even though it was her speciality. "That would be good."

Coming here had been on top of her list of things to do once she was back in Britain. She hadn't even unpacked yet but had simply left her bag right in the middle of her apartment, before immediately flooing into the Ministry. She was quite glad that her and Jeremy had not sold their apartment yet so now she didn't even have to furnish it or anything. Not that that was something she would have resented doing. But she was digressing...
Alysson stood outside Evander's office and ran a hand through her hair absentmindedly. Oh well, this was going to be fine. She was an optimistic person so. Yes. Everything was going to be just fine. Raising her hand Alysson knocked on his office door two times before lowering it again slowly.

Something that had come in handy for sure. It made it easier to resist it himself.
"I was thinking perhaps some good old fashioned Hostage Negotiation to get some of our new employees feet wet. And to give your," Yes, your, "YATI a run for their money."
Oh... the door.
"Iz.... would you mind...?" Getting the door? Just... it was Izzy. He could afford to show a bit of weakness in front of her and his knee was aching like.... well, like a thing that ached.
He opened his desk drawer and extracted a vial of potion, a purplish coloured one, for pain relief from irreversible dark curses.

Hostage Negocotiation. That sounded fun. Isobel smiled, more at him refering to the YATI's as hers really. Her Yati's. Her Aurors. Yes, Isobel liked that a lot. She was really going to enjoy this, and do a good job of it too. "That sounds pretty good." She nodded with a smile. Hopefully her Yati's would be able to keep up with her, because she'd watched how Damien had interacted and worked with them, and she was not going to go soft on them. Oh no. Not at all. Nice Izzy, might turn out to be quite mean Izzy in there eyes at some point in the future. It would be fun.
Ooh. The door had knocked. Iz was quite glad that Evander asked her to get the door, because she would've objected to him getting up to answer it himself. "i wouldn't have let you answer it yourself away..." She mused, grinning at him, as she stood up, and approached the door. Now whoever could that be?
Still smiling, Isobel opened the door, and nearly squealed as she saw who it was. No. She couldn't squeal, she was head auror, they didn't squeal. But, she was very happy at who she saw. "Aly!" Her friend she hadn't seen in a while. Oh. Wait, she was supposed to be opening the door for Evander. Iz stepped out the way, so that Alysson could come into the office.

Hearing somebody approach the door from the inside, Alysson took a small step back so as to not be directly in Evander's face when he opened the door. It just wasn't polite. Would he have expected her to be here so early? She wasn't that early, was she?
So when the door was finally opened, she was quite surprised to find herself looking at no, not Evander but somebody else. "Izzy!" Alysson exclaimed cheerfully, a look of sheer surprise on her face. So it seemed she WAS early then.
Reaching out to give Izzy's hand a soft squeeze as a means of greeting her, Alysson then peeked around her to look at Evander still seated at his office table. "Hello! I'm sorry, I didn't mean to interrupt. Should I...wait?" She suggested with a smile for her boss and a quick glance at Izzy next to her.

Lights hesitated, her hand on the doorknob. She still didn't know why she was here, and that made her nervous. Even more worrying was the thought that her boss knew about her secret ... but if he knew, he wouldn't ask her to come to his office, right? He'd just send someone after her.
Lights realised that standing outside the door worrying wasn't going to make her feel better, and knocked on the door. Please, please, be out or something... she found herself wishing. Stop it. Not helpful.

He was clearly busy.
"Its no interruption, really. Come in." And even though he knew Isobel would disapprove, he managed to stand up respectfully while he waited for Alysson to grab a seat.
Well what? Evander had manners and respect for his female employees.

And another knock? Van grinned over at Izzy. Well she could be his door.... woman. For right now at least.
"See who that is, hmm?"
He had some idea.

Isobel was pretty glad to see Alysson. She had missed her friend whilst she had been out of office, so it was very good to have the woman back. But there was business to get down with, considering that Alysson had come to Van's office. Iz smiled at the woman as she shut the door. Hmm. Maybe Van would want her to go? Well, they'd wait and see. She knew he'd ask her to go if he didn't want her there.
And...he was standing up again? Isobel just shook her head, grinning at him. She did disapprove, but there was nothing she could do. Not when he had stood up. He'd be the one suffering later. And...there was the door again. "Of course..." She nodded, starting to feel that she'd got promoted to head door woman rather than head auror. Turning around, she opened the door again. Ooh. "Hello Lights." She smiled at the young woman, before stepping out the way so that the woman could come into the office.
Glancing back to Evander, she smiled, and gave him a look that clearly asked him if he wanted her to go.

"Oh, okay then." Alysson smiled at Evander as he assured her that she wasn't interrupting anything and finally took a step into the office. Hearing Izzy closing the door behind her, she stepped a little closer to where Evander was sitting...or now standing. He had looked a little...off getting up though. But that was maybe just her imagination.
Raising her eyebrows at him a little, Alysson chose not to say anything but simply took a seat in one of the available chairs. "It feels good to be back here." She offered with a smile, letting her hazel eyes wander around the office for a quick moment before her gaze fell on Evander again. Just as she was about to say more, there was yet another knock on the door.
Was Izzy responsible for opening Evander's door now? Throwing Evander a rather amused look, Alysson turned in her seat to see who else Evander had asked to come. It was a woman she didn't know but she gave her a small smile nonetheless.

Lights gave her trademark sunny smile as she came in. "Hello." She recognised Evander, of course, and Isobel, but not the other woman. "You look better as a blonde," she told Isobel, reminding her that the last time they'd met she'd been in disguise. "I never got to thank you for saving me. So, thank you." She'd still lost her baby, but it could have been worse. She knew what Victor was capable of.
Lights hadn't forgotten who's office she was in, and looked towards the boss. He wasn't looking like he wanted to have her arrested, so her fears seemed unfounded. For now. Her curiosity of what he did want showed on her face.

Van shook his head and then shrugged. As in no, he didn't need her to leave, but she could if she wanted to. He was kind of used to having a Head Auror that was an office fixture. Damien had made the place as much his own as Van's in some ways, and was one of the few people that new all the spells and wards interlocking around the office, protecting from intruders. He'd have to share those with Isobel too, he reminded himself.

"I'm glad to see you back." Van answered easily. It was always good to have familiar faces, and the trustworthy sort too. It had been, he reflected, a few years now since he'd first met Alysson, and they'd been in the same division of course, since he had been a Hit Wizard himself when he'd returned to the British Ministry. He didn't miss those amused and curious looks either, but Van didn't really feel like going into explanations about his injury that weren't technically asked for.
"Alysson, this is Lights Lennox, she's been working security." On Gabriel's team, as it were.

He addressed Lights next.
"This is Alysson Zookara, she's been part of the MLES team here in the past, and has been working... elsewhere for some time. Its actually good timing to have both of you here. Take a seat, Lights." He paused thoughtfully and let the moment grow then shot a look at Isobel.
Well. He was doing promotions today, so surely she had some clue about what he'd be offering Lights and Alysson.
He cleared his throat and looked back to the two young women, glancing between them. "I'd like to offer both of you positions as Hit Wizar... Witches." He grinned at the political correctness, and his bluntness and then after another pause added, "You've both proven yourself, time and again. Alysson, I know your work ethic is strong, and you were always a valuable patrol officer, and you've been upskilling which, well we all know that is something I encourage." He looked at Lights next. "And recently with the cult, you've shown yourself to be ready for more of a challenge."
To both of them, and a quick glance at Isobel as he continued, "You've both learned much on the job and the current MLES head, Wesley Fergusson," Fraaaanklin. Heh. "And I, will work with you both in order to facilitate specialisation in whichever area you each choose." For him? It had been undercover work, but there were many options.
He waited to hear what they had to say.

Hearing Evander say that he was glad to see her back made her give him a soft smile. Alysson really was quite happy to be back and she couldn't be thankful enough that he had taken her back too. Working here had been one of the best decisions she had ever made.
Alysson smiled at her yet again as the other woman was introduced to her. "Nice to meet you, Lights." What a unique name. Before she got to introduce herself Evander got to it first, so she just continued to smile, waiting to hear the reason she - or they? - had been asked here. Lights seemed just as anxious to know as she was.
They were...what?! To say that Alysson was a little surprised would be an undestatement. She had been thrilled to be allowed back just like that but this...this was just awesome. Chuckling softly as he made the job title more appropriate for her and Lights, she smiled at her boss happily. "Oh wow. I...thank you, Evander. I don't know what to say." She had NOT expected a promotion when she'd come here today. Not at all.
Wesley Fergusson? She hadn't heard of him yet but apparently she was going to meet him soon.

Lights smiled at Alysson as she was introduced. "Nice to meet you too," she said cheerfully, taking a seat next to the desk. Oh wow, this felt like being back in the Headmaster's office at Hogwarts. Lights half expected Evander to ask her what she'd been sent up for this time. She'd had her fair share of detentions back then ... happy memories.
Promotion?! Lights could hardly believe her ears. Being a Hit Witch sounded both exciting and challenging, and those were two things Lights enjoyed. "Thank you," said Lights, echoing Alysson's words, her smile even bigger if possible. Wait until Ethan heard about this! "Um, one question. Does this come with a pay rise?" Because, you know, husband and two kids to feed and stuff.

Ooh. So Evander didn't mind her being here then. Well that was pretty epic, especially because she had a feeling that at least Lights was here for a promotion. Iz pondered for a moment, wondering whether the two ladies would want some privicy, but she assumed it would be okay. Alysson was one of her closest friends after all. After that quick moment of consideratio, Isobel settled back into the other remaining chair that was by Evander's desk. Hopefully nobody would knock the door this time, because she didn't exactly feel like having to get up to be the door woman again. Maybe Evander could employ a little person to be his door person. That would be an interesting part of his office. Or maybe a little pully system, so the bossman could open the door from his seat.
Ahh. Both of the women were being promoted to Hit Witches? Well that was interesting. Isobel smiled at both of them, knowing that they would both make exceptional hit witches. "Congratulations..." She mused with a smile, noting Evander's look. Yes. We know what that was for.

"Say yes." He suggested and then chuckled slightly. He was having the most fun with these particular promotions since the Hit Wizard thing was somewhat close to his heart and all. Best and worst days of his life and he wouldn't be where he was today if he'd not chosen that career path.

"Yes, its rather a substantial one as it were. Hazard pay. You know, for the risk of death and danger and destruction and the like." He was only partly joking. "Starting rate is 700 galleons a month, and the other perks are a new broomstick, ours are provided by Vannacutt brooms of course, and a permanent bed at St. Mungos which -trust me on this- comes in handy." He smiled wryly, thinking of his current injury and recent time in his reserved bed.
"Shall I take it you agree?" Van looked at the young woman.

He felt like nudging Isobel. Like they were sharing some kind of joke.
Which was nice, you know, as if the awkward had finally faded away.

Lights pretended to think for a moment, but quickly dropped it. "Definitely," she nodded. "The permanent bed really got my attention." She hoped she'd never have to use it - not likely, of course, but one must always hope. And 700 Galleons a month sounded great to her, plus the broom. Her son was going to be happy to hear that, although he wasn't going anywhere near it. He'd broken his toy broom playing 'chicken' with a brick wall, and Lights didn't want him doing that again.
"Say yes." He suggested and then chuckled slightly. He was having the most fun with these particular promotions since the Hit Wizard thing was somewhat close to his heart and all. Best and worst days of his life and he wouldn't be where he was today if he'd not chosen that career path.
Alysson smiled at Evander softly at his words. "Of course. Yes." Her eyes flickered towards Lights for a moment when the other woman mentioned a pay-raise. Not that that was of too much importance to her but it was still interesting to know the answer.
She mouthed a "Thank you" at Izzy, giving her a cheerful grin, still wondering what SHE was doing in here. They really needed to catch up soon. "One question, where can I...we find Wesley Fergusson? To you know, say hi, introduce ourselves and such." Or had he been invited to this meeting too?

Isobel was glad that both of the women had agreed to the promotion. They definetly needed more women in her side of the office, so she was glad that Lights and Alysson would be joining them. It would make the office feel a lot more feminine, even though Isobel didn't mind being around men. It was quite nice actually, but she would keep that to herself really. Oooh. Alysson wanted to know where she would find Wes? Isobel smirked to herself, glancing at Evander.
Oh yes. She definetly knew where to find Wesley. In her house of course. But probably not rgiht now. They were supposed to be at work after all. "He works in the same office as me..." Isobel mused, with a smile in Alyssons direction.

"Surprisingly comfortable." Evander commented lightly, in regards to the bed. Well he had spent more than a week all laid out on his, until Lily had managed to bribe his attending healer to let him go home with her for more one-on-one attention, and wedding preparation at the time of course. Idly Van twisted his wedding ring and smiled again at Lights.

"You can't really miss him." Van supplied, intentionally not being particularly helpful. "Isobel can take you both to see him now though, and I'll have all the necessary paperwork sent to your desks." Once they'd claimed them. Did they need the obligatory warning about desk claims and the risk of choosing a desk that had already been layered with defensive charms that could blow a finger off? No?
He was sure they'd be fine.

Inwardly, Van cracked up. He remained calm on the surface though, even as he shot Izzy a look. She'd be able to read his amusement.
"You don't mind taking Lights and Alysson to meet their new chief, do you, Iz?"
Any excuse, right Isobel? HMmmmm? Van winked and then glanced to the door. He had another employee due along any moment now.

The whole talk about permanent beds in St. Mungo's caught her attention but didn't necessarily worry her too much. She wasn't easily intimidated, especially not by a job and its potential dangers. Alysson noted how Evander apparently knew what it was like to actually BE in one of those beds. Hmm.
"Okay...?" She said slowly, a little taken aback by how he didn't tell them where they could find this Wesley person. When he mentioned Izzy though, Alysson turned in her seat a little to smile at her friend. That would do.
Evander's words seemed somewhat final so after a short moment of hesitation, Alysson got up from her seat, smiling at her boss. "Alright then. Thank you, again, Evander for this opportunity." Were they going to go see Wesley Fergusson now? She shot Izzy a questioning look, waiting for her to do or say something.
Aubrie cautiously walked over to her bosses door. She had no idea why she might be needed by the boss. She had just gotten the Liason job didn't she. Maybe it was something more for that. Aubrie raised her hand to the door and knocked twice. She stepped back and waited for an answer. While she was inside the office, she should also ask about the D'Isigny thing, if they were still going to be looking for him. It was something she wanted to do.
