Welcome to the Office of Gina Latorta, Department Head



The office was clean, rather old fashioned but smelled like cake and cookies. Gina was an older woman and although she was British by birth, she'd lived in Italy most of her life. She'd been an ambassador and she knew the value of having fresh baked goods in her office. International Magical Cooperation was where she had wanted to be since she went on a ministry tour with her dad.

She'd made it.

Ok Armen had seen the notice that Minister Taylor had sent out to the Ministry employees announcing a new wave of Department Heads for various levels. On this list, of course was his name and a few others he didn't know, but planned on meeting very soon. That was his mission right now, meet one of the first on the list...in Magical Cooperation!

The tall man in his early thirties was dressed in a grey pinn-striped suit as he approached the door eagerly and knocked. Armen wasn't really nervous per se he was just excited to meet someone else that was new to the whole Department Head thing and perhaps make a new friend he could talk and hang out with at work. He was carrying a small gift, just a little something from him.

Gina opened the door and smiled. "Hello there, I'm Gina Latorta." She told the young man and the smell of fresh baked cookies. "How can I help you dearie?" She asked.

Armen had reajusted his shirt color for the third time trying to make hmiself more presentable for his fellow new Department Head. He couldn't wait to see how they were settling in and such. Were their employees as hospitable and welcoming as his were. Armen chuckled to himself a bit, 'I doubt it, my employees are simply the best.' he thought with obviously a biased opinion.

When the door suddenly opened in front of him he was at first confused at her age. She was older than he was, for some reason he imagined she would be about the same age as he was; as if she wouldhave moved through her department the same as himself. This woman however looked as if the years had been kind to her and there was no doubt that she was intelligent and knew what she was doing.

"Oh hello there, Miss. Latorta, How are you today?" he grinned holding out his hand excitedly to shake her's. "I just stopped by because your level is just above mine and I heard that you too were recently appointed a Department Head." he nodded hinting at the gift in his hands, wrapped in purple paper. "I am Armen Recard, of Magical Transportation. And this is for you." he grinned passing her the wrapped book on all things Transportation: Muggle and Magic alike.

"Awww... thank you!" She said ripping the wrapping open. "A Book! My favorite. Thank you." She said and summoned a plate of cookies. "My husband bakes for me a lot. Care to have a nibble?" She asked the young man. "Oh and congrats on your appointment to Department Head!"

Joe Jon Montcenaggio knocked on Gina's door. J.J. Starr will hopefully be the first to ask to be Ambassador to Atlantis. J.J. loves special assignments.

"Come Iiiiiiiiin!" She said in a singysong voice.

" Thanks, Gina" J.J. Starr replied to her. " Now about that special assignment, I would love to be one of the ambassadors to Atlantis" Joe Jon Montcenaggio told Gina. " If selected, what are the duties?" J.J. asked Gina.

Helena walked up to Gina's office and knocked on politely. EEP! Being an embassador to ATLANTIS would be just the most amazing job, ever.

Gina opened the door and let the woman in. "Hi there. I was just going to discuss the duties of the ambassadorship with JJ Starr here." She said and then turned to the large man.

"Well... JJ, you would go to Atlantis and speak with the mermaids there. They have agreed to submit themselves to a translator charm so you will understand them. Whatever they discuss with you, you bring back here to us and then we'll discuss how to proceed." She said smiling. "I'm glad you are interested."

Callie walked up towards Gina's door and gently knocked on it. This was so exciting. She'd never been an ambassador to anything nevermind atlantis. She was likee sooo exciteed. WHEE. She took a step back and waited for someone to answer.

"Well, I would love to go to speak to the Mermaids there in Atlantis" J.J. Starr told Gina. " They would defienitely know all about the pollution of the water and the world" Joe Jon Montcenaggio said to Gina. " Good thing, my wife is not the jealous type" J.J. laughed.

"Come iiiiiiin." She said sweetly.

"Well I'm glad you're excited, JJ... but I'm not sure why your wife would be jealous... these are not the muggle fable mermaids, these are the real mermaids... they aren't like veela's." She said.

Helena nodded at her boss and stepped into the office. "Oh, I see. Well, that's why I'm here too. I'd love to be an ambassador for the Ministry."

She listened to Gina talk, and even though she was addressing JJ Starr, she still took all of the information in. It sounded like it was going to be a really interesting job to do.

" Good, when do I leave?" J.J. Starr asked Gina. " Actuallly, my wife is half- Veela" Joe Jon Montcenaggio told Gina." I promise to do the best I can and get all the info I need when I am Atlantis" J.J. said to Gina.

This, was not easy. But Diana didn't have much time at the moment to be working, and still trying to fix her life back into Muggle schools. So, she decided to give up on her Ministry job, although it'd be so sad to leave the much loving place. Letting out deep breaths of either fear to leave or just some regret, she knocked the door of Gina's office.

And well, leaving her at this time sure made things more wrong. They were about to start a journey to Atlantis and sure needed all the help they could get.

Cora smiled sweetly at her boss. "How're you Mrs Latrota ?" she said with another smile, stepping into her office and smiling at the other people inside. "I've come about being an ambassador to Atlantis."

"Perfect. You will need to submit an application of sorts." She said. "I've set up a mailbox outside my office for you to do so."

Helena looked at Gina and nodded. An application ... okay, that seems fair enough. She made a mental note to visit this mailbox as soon as she left the office. "So, Uh... what does this application consist of?" She asked.

Diana was shaking. She wasn't going to be able to Gina! She was feeling bad already and well, Gina had been such a great person to her. Taking deep breaths, she opened the door and portrayed a wide smile, although you could notice her sadness. "Hello, Ms. Latorta, guys ..How are you?" Yeah, nice start. Or maybe not.

In her hands, she held a folder. Inside there was her resignment letter and why she was leaving. It was clearly stated that she was going back to Muggle School and it was her will, but just so hard to accomplish. Also, apologizing to them for leaving in such a big project they had set to the department. "I came here because I want to talk to you, about this..." She walked towards Ginna and handed her the folder.

Feeling bad she was. Di was already biting her lip, expecting Gina's answer.

Cora smiled. "Okay. How're you Gina ?" she beamed. This was soo exciting. "Ohh Okay. So what do we need to include in our application ?" She smiled.

Gina took the folder and opened it. "Oh." She said and then smiled at the woman. "I wish you luck in your future endevours and if you ever want to return, you just send me an owl." Gina said sweetly, what was she to do?

After hearing Gina speaking from somewhere she didn't know, but yeah it was loud and it filled the room. Cora walked, hands on her stomach, to Mrs Latorta's office and knocked on the door. Looking down at her feet as she took a step back she forced a smile on her face and waited for Mrs Latorta to open the door.

Helena walked up to Gina's office quickly, and smiled at the woman that was already stood there waiting. What was her name? Helena honestly didn't know it. Shameful, really. It wasn't like there was loads of people in the divison. "Hello." She said simply, with a kind smile.

Now to wait for Gina to let them in and talk to them.

Joe Jon Montcenaggio waited for Gina. J.J. Starr had been called to the office. K/K/ has a big smile on his face.
