Located on Level Seven of the Ministry of Magic is the Department of Magical Games and Sports. In the busy work areas and cubicles, employees, under the guidance of their division heads, work on the every-so-busy dealings in the British and Irish Quidditch League, the Official Gobstones Club, and the Ludicrous Patents Office. Each division is located on different areas of the floor and the cubicles seem to be bursting with never-ending paperwork.

The level is quite modern in appearance (thanks to a recent renovation) with cream and dove gray walls, and dark woodwork. Scattered throughout the level are neatly framed posters that change every thirty minutes. One wall contains a magicked assignment board and notices board that every employee is expected to check on a regular basis. Next to these boards is the department filing cabinet.

To the north end of the work areas are three glass-walled rooms in which each division head has their respective desk. The doors to these offices are never closed due to the constant interactions occurring and the department head refers to this end of the level as the 'fish bowl'.

But the largest office (with a view courtesy of the Department of Magical Maitenance) is located on the east side of the level, and belongs to the department head. Next door to this office is the conference room.

Alina had got to the office early that morning, worried about what she might find. It wasn't that she didn't trust Rex that everything would be in order, all new and shiny, just well - building work just never seemed to go according to the schedule. So it was with mixed feelings she pushed open the door. Curiousity, nerves, hope...

As she peeped through the opening, Alina let out a breath she didn't realise she'd been holding. Stepping fully inside, she gasped. The light airy workspace, all clean and new and fresh, looked amazing. It was fairly contempory - more open plan, more minimalist - but she could only see that as a good thing. Easier to share information on Patents, and for discussions. There was more storage too. But not just the standard grey filing cabinets - box shelves for models to be on display, with more hidden trays so that it could be kept all neat. Tidyness and order. All that disruption and noise was now deemed worth it. She made a mental note to go and see Rex later to thank him.

And so, with a smile as she waited for her employees to come in, Alina started having a rummage around to see what had been put where. That was the only problem with others putting stuff away...you could never find what you wanted.

"Oooooo. Nice!" herod said, walking back into his division and heading for his desk. He waved his wand ina high ovaul and all the files, quills, assorted parchment, and family photos re-appreared. He had missed this place. "How are you Ms. Newtington?" he asked. sitting down. "What have you up to lately?" he asked.

OCC: did you get my PM about the patents idea???

Alina turned round as Herod entered the room, her long robes swishing round as she did so. "It's impressive, isn't it?" she aid, glancing round the room again. She had to enjoy it whilst it was all clean and fresh. It wouldn't be long before files and paperwork started appearing. Or, she thought with a small sigh as Herod waved his wand, personal mementoes. It wasn't that she didn't like them - Alina herself had several photos she would be putting on her desk - just that it took away that newly decorated feel.

Returning from her thoughts, Alina brushed her hair over her shoulder with her fingers. "I'm good thanks," she replied, before contemplating her employee's other question. "Not much, enjoying the weekend off - I went to go see my parents, and did a bit of shopping. What about you? Have a good noise free weekend?"

"No, i couldn't stand not working, so I came in and picked up an invention that I dropped off on Level 3. Then I hung out in the confrence room. It was the only placed untouched. I'm a bit of a work-o-holic." he said. "I saw a really interseting file on a hat that had a propellor on it, when you spin it makes you fly up in the air. How exciting!" he said!.

After Tom Simpson had left the Department Heads office, he quickly found his way to his new work place, he smiled as he openned the door, he found the room looked great, when he first got told about the job he was scared that the room wouldn't be very good but it was great.

Tom Simpson took a few minutes looking around the room before he walked over to his new desk and looked at the plaque on his table he was used to seeing his name on the front of his desk but he must admit that it was great to see it looking so new and shinny.

He decided that he should sit down and get to reading the folder that his Boss had given him, he was just about to open it when he saw a piece of paper on the table, he was sure that Rex had said that they had remoddled since the last Division Head had left.

He openned the note on the table and a shocked expression came to his face, he hadn't been in the job for five minutes and he was facing total disaster, he looked at the paper in his hand and then he looked at the league table there was something that wasn't right, he would have to get the Department Head into the division, he was sure that he would like to see the note and also the league table, he was sure that the league was suppost to be at the half way point but according to the table the teams hadn't played for over 2 months, he had no idea if it was the last Division Head forgetting to update it or if there was a bigger problem like the note suggested.

Rex entered the division office several minutes later because he wanted to see how Tom was liking his new surroundings. "Told you the place was slick," he grinned and sat down on one of the chairs at the planning table.

Tom looked up as he saw none other than Rex walk into the room, he couldn't believe his look maybe Rex could read minds then Rex startled him by saying that the place looked slick. "Yeah it's great." Tom smiled as he took another looked around the place. "I must admit the people who did this have done a great job."

Tom then quickly looked at Rex and sighed. "I was just about to send an owl to you, it seems we have a huge problem." Tom wondered what he should show Rex first the league table or the note, he decided that the note would be best. "I found this on my desk."

He waited for Rex to speak, he knew that he would need Rex's help with this and he knew that he would probably be busy for a while now and here he had hoped he would have an easy start to being the Division Head.

Rex whipped out a pair of reading glasses and read the note carefully before putting his glasses back into his front shirt pocket. "Well, it seems to me that you and your division has a lot and I mean A LOT of work to do because the season starts in less than two months." Yes, this division was going to be BUSY.

"Get your team together and solve the crisis before it reaches the desk of the Minister." Now THAT was an order because he, King Rex, wasn't going to hang over a game of marbles.

Tom looked at Rex and smiled. "Don't worry, I'm sure me and the Division will be able to sort this out." Well maybe he wasn't that sure but he wasn't going to let Rex know that. "I'm sure we'll be able to sort something out to make everyone happy." Tom looked at Rex. "I'll send out owls to all the employees ASAP." Tom said, he knew that Rex was worried about something, saying that he was scared too.

Striding into the division after leaving Rex's office Skander couldn't help but look around in shock. It was magnificent looking, very sleek lines and no clutter. There was even a separate office for him. Personal space WOOT.

Looking around almost dazed Skander gave himself a mini tour and had to say that Rex was right about the department being cutting edge and probably the best in the ministry. He was so glad he had agreed to work here.

Walking into the office that would be his Skander began to plot out how he would decorate it. It would end up looking impersonal he was sure since he didn't see the need to clutter his work space up with anything that wasn't essential but he knew it would look perfect. He would use his desk from his old office, it went perfectly with the look of the Division and he could use one of his Picasso pieces in here as well.

The only thing really left to do was to meet his employees. Hopefully they would be here soon.

"Sounds like a workable game plan to me," Rex replied after thinking about Tom's answer. "Get the troops in here immediately and I want an update in twenty four hours!"

Not wanting to get in the way, he left the division office. If one division is having a crisis, maybe I should just pop my head into the other two division offices and see if things are okay.

"Workoholic indeed," Alina said as Herod revealed he hadn't exactly had time off over the weekend. "You can take time away from this place now and then, you know," Alina said with a raised eyebrow. "Not that I'm complaining that you want to work hard..." She chuckled. Alina had worked far too many weekends in the past because she wanted to get stuff done and finished.

"A hat that had a propellor on it?" she said with a frown. "Surely there's better ways to be able to fly?" She had a bemused expression on her face. Alina was surely a broom was a more efficient and comfortable way to fly, but everyone to themselves she supposed. "Have you got a plan for it yet? I think the safety issues will have to be considered quite heavily."

Annabeth noticed the newcomer Tom's expression. "What's wrong?"she said wheelign her chair over. "Let me see that note."she said.

Tom watch as Rex left the room and then turned to the girl, hmm he had no idea who this person was but he wasn't going to let her get away with talking to him like that, who did she think she was demanding to see the note, he was the Division Head and he had shown it too Rex and he had seen it wasn't it upto him who got to see the note.

"Hello." Tom smiled. "I'm Tom Simpson and I'm the Division Head." He looked at her. "And you are." He looked at the lady, he didn't like people wheeling chairs around the room. "This is a workplace and I don't like people wheeling chairs around the room, it makes the place look untidy." He sighed. "Now here have a look at the note, we need to come up with someway of sorting this mess out."

"Division Head eh?"she said smirking. STOP SMIRKING ANNABETH. your gonna get fired. She thought. "annabeth jackson."she took the note and read it. It was simple enough,"we just need a copy of our present rules,and change em up a bit."she said. "Fine,I'll stop wheelign around,but really it's a shame,wheely chairs are too fun."she said,and then she got up and raised and whelled her chair back too her desk,and looked at her computer,findign a list og tons of rules. She printed them out and handed them to him.

Tom Smirk. "Yeah I am the Division Head." He looked at the girl and smiled. "I am glad that you will stop spinning around on the chair." He took the rules from her when she gave them to him. "Okay so we know that the Gobstone Team won't play again until we change the leagues." He smiled at Annabeth ignoring the fact that she was smirking. "What I need you to do is sort out a two tier league, and who deserves to play in what league."

"Well, you could do it like american baseball, they have the national league,and the american league, so It would be like an A and B league, A league would be for the better teams,and the B would be for the worse teams,the team who wins first in the B league goes up a leagueto the a league,and the team that comes in last in the a league,will go to the b league,get my drift ?"she said,she thought it made sense.

"Yeah." Tom smiled. "What I need you to do is sort these out into two league." Tom handed a piece of paper over to Annabeth. "I need them sorting out into two teams of ten" He smiled. "Once that is done I'll take them to Mr Vindictus for him to approve." He smiled at the girl. "Then we can start on the rules and so on."

Lilia saw a new person and and a fellow colleague already talking with him she decided she might as well go over and introduce herself and find out what was going on. She quickly left her desk and walked over to the new person and said, "Hi, I'm Lilia, is there anything I can help you with?".

"Hello Lilia." He smiled as he looked at her. "Yes there is something you can do." He looked at her. "We have a disaster happening." Well maybe that was other the top but he needed everyone on their toes. "The Gobstone teams are refusing to play until we sort somthing out." He handed over a piece of paper for her to get started on.

"Ah yes, Tom,will do so."she said,she walked to her desk and sat down. "Uh hello.Annabeth Jackson here. You should talk to Tom about the situation,bgi problems,teams refuse to play."she said. She began to type up a paper. "theres lots to do."

Annabeth sighed after about a long work. "Okay that seems good,she made a few modifications and then printed out three copies. One for her, One for Tom, and One for Rex.She walked up to Tom,and handed him hsi copy. "Whaddaya think?"

Tom smiled as he looked at the list and smiled. "That looks great." He said as he put the piece of paper on his desk. "I think that you should take that to Rex's office so that he can approve it." He decided that since the girl had spent the time doing the work that she should go and take it too Rex. "He should be in his office," Tom smiled.

"Sure thing Tom."she said,and she hurried otu of the ofice and into Rex's.

Tom smiled as Annabeth left the room and went to the Department Head's office, he knew that Rex would want to know what is going on and he knew that Rex would want to know what else they had. He looked around the room and smiled.
