Ronan felt his face flush slightly when Chloe mentioned getting Antigone McArdle's skin. 'That has been accomplished already.' he thought before clearing his throat and nodding as she mentioned that she was going to get back to work.
His eye noticed something sparkle and he looked to her left hand where a ring was set. "Congratulations by the way." he said gesturing to the engagement ring with a fond grin to the young woman.
"I wish you all the happiness in the world for you and your fiance."

"You're welcome." Ronan said with a bright grin knowing how special it was to get engaged. No one had congratulated him on such a feat, mostly because Pandora and his engagement had been kept secretive for less drama.
He began to busy himself with fixing up his desk wondering what his first assignment for the day would be.
Xena eyed Ryan. Was this man being sincere or did he just want to get with her? "I forgive you." She could forgive him after all. But she wasn't going to be that easy.
Xena nodded, "Of course Ms McArdle. I will not hesitate to inform you straight away of any altercations." Would give her time to spend with her boss, and she was liking her more by the minute. They would be great friends.
"Thank you. I intend to stay here a while," she smiled. She peered back at her empty cubicle. She needed to find things to decorate it with. She wasn't one for sentimental pictures. Maybe a poster would be a good idea. Not that she had a partner to put pictures up of.

That's one thing that Ronan couldn't stand was petty fighting over little things. "Thank you Ms McArdle." he said as she welcomed him and the other woman into the department. The young man decided to take her advice and decorate his new cubicle.
Setting his briefcase down on the desk, he unlatched it magically, and took out a few pictures to remind him of home.

Smiling down at the pictures, the young man busied himself with tidying up his desk to stay out of the reprimanding and whatnot going on in the main area. He sighed, content with his new job, and ready to start work.

Truthfully, the Antigone/Ryan conflict had been going on for quite a few weeks now, but Chloe could hope it would go away soon, right?

"Ryan the correct answer to that is that you WILL participate... not that you GUESS you will. I really wish you would think about what you say before you say it because those little slips really make me think that you do not wish to remain under my employee. Ms. Everhart, Mr. Cavanaugh... are you having a nice chat over there while I am speaking to the room as a whole, asking if you all have any questions. Talking about having a seminar... That really irks me," she said to them all. "You guys have no idea how much stress I am under. I will not deal with bickering nor will I deal with being ignored," she pronounced haughtily. Hopping off of the desk she furrowed her brow and said TO THEM ALL, "I think that you all need to clean the rest of the file cabinets, alphabetize them if they are not already and then write me a 500 word essay on why you wish to remain in your job."
Then with one ;ast smile to Miss Segway she turned and swept imperiously from the room. Then poking her head back in she said, "Actually Miss Segway, Mr. Cavanaugh... write your on why you wanted to come here in the first place and why you wish to remain here. Then if there are any of you that do not wish to do this be may guest in packing your desk and coming to my office with your letter of resignation. Ronan's jaw clenched as he was called out for talking to Chloe. He looked to Antigone and could see how serious she was, shoving his hands in his pockets for lack of knowing where to put them.
"Yes Miss McArdle." he said in a quiet voice as he watched her in the doorway before looking around to the other employees. The young man walked over to the filing cabinets and looked inside to the slight disarray beginning his task as he had been ordered to, not wanting to upset his department head anymore than he apparently had. As he worked, he thought about how he could possibly write 500 words about why he wanted to be there and why he wanted to remain. He could only think of was two words and that was 'My children'.
Ronan sighed and continued on with his work in silence.

Chloe jumped and looked up from her desk as she heard Antigone's voice. She had apparently been mistakenly under the impression that the matter was settled and that they would all be participating in the seminar. Antigone had, after all, said that she was going to do it and so, in Chloe's mind, that meant it would happen with or without input. And she was also confused because she was pretty sure Antigone had just given them permission to introduce themselves to each other. Nevertheless, she wouldn't voice any of this. She shouldn't have been talking at work at all. "My apologies, Ms. McArdle," she said from her cubicle, deciding it was best not to make any attempts at defending herself. Once she handed out their assignments, Chloe immediately stood up and headed over to the filing cabinets, beginning to clean them out and alphabetize them, doing her best to bite her tongue and hold her breath, trying to keep the tears out of her eyes.
So much for asking for time off to go tell her goddaughters she was engaged. She had just ruined any chance of that happening anytime soon. And the thought of the girls' last letter swam into her head as she pulled dusty files from the cabinets with her right hand. Hastily, she wiped a tear from her cheek with her left hand, hiding her face as best as she could from everyone else in the room. The ashamed, nervous feeling in her stomach would not go away and neither would the tension in her chest or the tears in her eyes. She had promised to visit them soon, and now she would have to break that promise. They would understand, hopefully. Work was where she needed to be right now.

Briony continued to be seated at her desk for fear of what happened next. Antigone walked in and of course yelled at Ryan. Then she demanded them to alphabetize the filing cabinets and a 500 word essay?! This was totally not fair! She said nothing but had an expression of slight disgust. She was going to write it no matter how much she didn't want to. Antigone may get on her nerves but she was not going to be yelled at again. Taking out parchment and a quill she looked up at those around.
"You heard her everyone, start writing or else you're fired!" Briony said loudly, looking back down. She thought for some time before continuing on with her letter.

This Department obviously needs some time to figure out what they're suppose to do. I want to stay here because this is the job I've always wanted and cared about most. We all make mistakes and I apologize if it's necessary. This Department has been a home away from home ever since day one of working here last year. It definitely hasn't been easy with readjusting to a new boss and new employees. Some slack has to be cut for that. I'm sorry if you can't stand us talking in this office area. We will continue to try and work....

Chloe heard Antigone leave but didn't turn to look at her. She just continued cleaning out the filing cabinets, wondering while she and Ronan were the only ones doing as instructed. It was okay with her, though, as she worked more quickly and efficiently at such tasks when she was upset because she needed a way to distract her mind. She didn't dare utter another word. By the time she finished three sets of filing cabinets, she had enough files to be tossed that she couldn't even carry them, and the remaining files had been alphabetized. Looking at Ronan, he seemed to be almost finished with the remaining filing cabinets. She levitated her stack of files and set them on Ryan's desk. "I'm pretty sure these can be destroyed, but I thought I'd let you make sure," she said sadly, without the slightest hint of the usual fire and sass she had when speaking to Ryan.
Then she turned and sat down at her desk, taking out parchment and quill, and she began writing in silence, sniffling and wiping away tears quickly so as to not get them on her parchment as her heart ripped open. She would write down what she felt right now because she felt that Antigone needed to understand the journey she had gone on, the path that had taken her to this department. As much as it hurt to talk about what had happened, she would write what she felt.
SPOILER!!: Chloe's Essay
I spent years of my life after Hogwarts feeling like nothing more than a waste of space because I let man after man use me. I was too sweet and nice to tell guys no. I lacked self-respect, and left my heart so open that men would just interpret my outgoing and kind personality as a girl who was easy to get with. Which, of course, I was.
I realized that I had to change and have more respect for myself while I was living in New York. I was with a man named Christian, who I wholeheartedly believed loved me. And then he cheated on me with multiple people, but I never did anything about it. We moved in together, and he became abusive, verbally and physically.
My best friend from New York, Tim, found me sitting in Central Park one night alone, covered in bruises, clothes ripped, and crying. He tried to convince me to come home with him, but I wouldn't, and I wouldn't go to the hospital because I was a witch and knew nothing about Muggle medicine. Tim was a wizard, a muggle-born, but I had no idea at the time, just as he had no idea I was a witch. So, Tim sat with me in the park all night. In the morning, he took me to breakfast, and after explaining that he lived with his parents and two younger sisters, I agreed to go home with him.
After two nights with Tim and his family, Christian called begging me for forgiveness, I went back to him, and he promised it would never happen again. A week later, he left her so beat up and abused that I couldn't walk. Tim came to check on me and found me. He took me back to his house. I didn't leave the room for weeks. My older brother came and stayed with them, too, and between him and Tim, they kept Christian away until he lost interest.
Slowly, I recovered and began getting involved in Chelsea and Lauren's lives. They were both Muggles, though they knew I was witch, and both very interested in theater. I had been involved in the theater world since I was a young girl, and soon I began teaching workshops at their Muggle school about acting. I loved working with kids. Every smile on their faces healed my heart a little more, made me want to be a little stronger for them, made me respect myself a little more, and most of all, it made me want to protect any of them from ever being hurt the way I had been. I knew the only way to do that was to teach them to respect themselves as they had taught me to love and respect myself. Eventually, Tim's parents asked me if I would be an honorary goddaughter to Chelsea and Lauren. I accepted without hesitation. Those two girls had become my world.
I continued to teach workshops once a week for two years, focusing on building children’s confidence and providing them with a place they felt safe and giving them a positive role model, someone they knew they could always come to. Eventually, though, I knew I’d have to come back home to England, so I applied for a job in the ministry, not expecting to make it into the Education department on my first try, but to my surprise, I did. I abruptly had to pack up my things and move back here, and though I had to leave my kids, especially my goddaughters, behind, I was excited to be in a position to reach the hearts of even more children.
The reason I want to remain here has nothing to do with needing a job or an income. My fiancé has assured me many times that he is more than capable of providing for me. The reason I want to remain here is to help build children up to be strong, confident, motivated, respectful individuals who love themselves and love other people around them. I want to protect those kids and make sure that nothing bad happens to them. I want to make sure that when they are out of school and off on their own, that they are capable of making good, healthy decisions for themselves. I want to make a difference. I want to change the world. I want to make those kids feel as astonishing as my students made me feel, and they cannot feel that without having adults watching out for the best interests and ensuring that they have a safe, loving, and productive environment in which to live and learn and grow.
Once she had finished, she looked up and around at the other people in the room, wondering what she was supposed to do with her essay now that it was finished. She opened her mouth to try and speak, to ask what to do with it, but she was choked by a sob. So, she simply turned around in her chair, facing the wall of her cubicle and buried her face in her hands, crying as quietly as possible.

As Ronan finished up on the filing cabinet making it as neat as he possibly could and his head buzzing as he counted over the ABC's a few more times than he was willing to admit.
He sighed sitting down at his new cubicle, reached for an old quill of his out of his briefcase and began to write:

The reason that I chose to come work in the Department of Magical Education was solely based on what is going to in my near future. With the arrival of my twin children, I think it is important for me to be involved somehow in the behind the scenes of the education that they will receive when they come of the age to attend Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. I know I enjoyed my time in school and I would like to guarantee that they do as well.
I thought that this would be an interesting field to go into because although I don’t think I would ever have the qualifications to become a professor at Hogwarts myself, being able to contribute to the education of the future minds of the Wizarding community is a prestigious and elite job and I take this opportunity very seriously. I feel comfortable working in this department and so far, on a whole, I have been welcomed graciously by my coworkers.
I decided to join the Department of Magical Education to further my own knowledge in various elements of the Wizarding world. In terms of the behind the scenes elements of magical education, I am a novice but I am willing to learn from everyone in the department and gain as much knowledge as I can in my time here. I am a hard worker and would like the chance to prove to everyone how hardworking and determined I can be.
The final reason that I decided to join the Department of Magical Education was because in the Department of Mysteries I was not able to talk about my work with my family and friends unless they were in the department. I did not like keeping secrets from those I love, especially my wife Pandora, and felt that it was putting too much of a strain on me.
I wish to remain in the department to prove to my fellow coworkers that I am a hard worker; able to keep the work place professional at all times, and uphold my responsibilities as a Ministry of Magic employee. I can guarantee that I will take my work in the Department of Education seriously and work to the level that my superiors ask of me.
Noticing the tension as soon as I walked into the work space I feel that I could act as a mediator when needed as well as report to you Miss McArdle as our Department Head if any sort of problem arises when you are out of the working area. One of the sole purposes of being your employee is to keep out of any sort of drama and do the work given to me without any complaints. I will also work to not talk constantly with my coworkers so that we can get our work done fast and efficiently.
Please understand that I do take my employment in this department seriously and would like to prove it in any way.
The young man sucked on his quill as he reviewed what he had written and then with a flick of his wand rolled it up tight and tied it with a neat red bow before pushing back his chair and standing up to head towards Antigone's office. Ronan had a determined look on his face as he headed out of the work area trying to rid of any tension that was between all the of the department.

Then a little bit distracted for some unknown reason he blinked at the woman a couple of times and once he snapped out of the he apologised. ''Sorry for my choices of word Ms McArdle. I will participate if there is going to be a seminar. On the other hand, i promise, to try my best to make such a meeting unnecessary but of course it is you who can decide if its necessary or not''. Obviously he needed to be careful from now on. With that tought he remained stood next to his desk.

Ronan returned to the work area and back to his desk, adjusting the photos at his space and sitting down with a sigh, his index finger and thumb pinching his nose as he concentrated.
'Merlin, I already need a vacation.' he thought looking down and smiling at the picture of his wife before subconsciously beginning to tidy up his desk once more.

Not really sure what else to do, she looked over at Ronan tidying up his desk. Standing back up, she walked over to him. "Want some help?" she asked quietly. "And then maybe we can... dust the office... or something...?"

''I'm sure you guys know well that experience is an important element as we try to maintain our lives and that experience is of vital importance at every branch of work.'' he took a file out of one drawer ''These are experience for us as Inspections Committee. If we know what cases were faced in the past within Hogwarts, we will know what to expect from those new professors and determine if they match out standards for a good teacher. Now what we are going to is examine those files on ex professors and enhance out knowledge of Hogwarts' past professors''

When he made the decision to retire, it was a very sad day indeed, and hundreds of previous students showed up to bid him goodbye. He was a great Professor and will be sorely missed by the many lives that he touched.

She had no idea where she was going, but it sounded like her boss was having a meeting with a few people in her office, and curiosity had gotten the better of her. Seraphina stepped to the side of the room and looked around, hoping for some kind of direction.
