Emmalee looked up as her Department Head excused himself from the room. Ok. And his office was... where? Emmalee thought she maybe wanted.. no.. maybe should talk to him some more, whether or not she wanted to.

Sipping her tea some more, she rolled her quill between her fingers as she stared at the blank parchment. A survey for students about the exams.

Furrowing her brow quizzically, Emmalee began scratching down some thoughts on her parchment.

Emmalee sighed. She was going to have to talk to Leo before she did this, after all.

Setting down her cup of tea, she stood and without making eye contact with anyone else, hurried out of the room. Now just to find the office...

Ronan turned at the sound of his boss' voice and nodded curtly.

"Alright Leo, Ryan and I will let you know if anything comes up." the young man said with a smile.

As everyone seemed to be busy and not need any help, Ronan decided to settle down at his desk for the first time that morning. Looking down at the pictures on his desk, he couldn't help but smile.

He had a new favorite picture of Pandora in front of Cavanaugh castle and next to it, there is a picture of their twin babies, Roisin and Tristan. Since the pictures were magically moving, Pandora was looking at the twins adoringly as the babies played around in their frame. He could almost hear their giggling.

Oh, hopefully this day went by quickly.

Oliver had managed to jot down a few questions so far, and thought now would be the perfect time to stretch his legs and get some water. He got up and walked into the hallway.

Chlostin was able to think of some questions..But she felt it would be ridiculous asking those questions.. She sighed and thought that maybe she just needs coffe. Well, that does sound a good idea.. She got up and walked down the hall while stretching her arms.

Dacs entered the work area of the department of Education. She looked around the office and looked around. Up and down and all around. With sharp eyes, she scrutinized every inch of the room her eyes could reach. Everything appeared normal, on the surface. Dacs took a deep breath and put herself in her work zone. The where her concentration, her senses and her mind's function was heightened to a extremely high peak. It was one of her favourite places to be.

Ben followed Dacs into the work area and looked around... It was so quiet... There were books everywhere... He took in his entire surrounding the best he could. He figured out every entrance and exit, and everyone's desks....It was BORING. He took a deep breath in, and noticed Dacs surveying everything.

"Don't even bother trying to pick things out with your eyes. This is magic we're dealing with." he paused and rotated himself towards the department head's office. "I'm going to introduce myself to the DH. Try 'SpeRevelio'. If nothing happens. Well, you know the more specific spells, yes?" He didn't wait for her to answer before turning and walking away...

"Do not interrupt me. I'm not looking for anything specific. I'm blocking out distractions. I don't need a spells lesson either."she shot venomously at him.
' If he thinks i'm an idiot I will drop him faster than he can reach for his wand.'

She stepped away from him and took out her wand. Muttering the spell, "Sperevelio..." and watched.

So far, that had been a good day for Ryan Chambers even though he could not find any tea in his flat. Surely he was going to be able to find some in the Cafeteria so before he stepped into his work areas, after a short break, he bought his daily tea and added some lemon in it. Mmm. Delicious.

Then, carrying his tea, he walked in the work areas only to find a woman doing...well. What was she doing? Smirking widely, he approached the beautiful woman and put his cup on his desk. ''Ehem'' at first he cleared his throat then spoke politely with the warmest tone he managed ''May i help you, dear lady?''.

Observing her carefully with his light blue eyes Ryan could tell that she was not from his divison, even not from this department. And she had this mysterious air on her. Hmm interesting.

Dacs heard someone enter the room. She turned when he spoke,"Hello. Dacs from Magical Law Enforcemnet,"she said stretching her hand out to him,"I'm running a bug sweep, my partner and I that is. Are you one of the division heads?"

"I'm checking the work area for hidden spy magic, equipment the whole nine yards."she said, looking around."Making sure no one is spying on you guys in here."

While Benjamin was sweeping the DH's office, he noticed another body moving around the workspace that wasn't Dacs. And now he knew who it was. Confidence... A bit over confident, obviously a Div. Head... Oh! And there's the badge to confirm it.

"Hello. Detective Benjamin Amsten. Former Division Head of The British Improper Use of Magic and Misuse of Muggle Artifacts. And former Head Auror of the American Ministry." He gave a look to Dacs as that second title was not something Dacs had known about, since she wanted to always talk 'later.' Benjamin offered a handshake to the man before turning towards Dacs and lowering his voice.

"The Head's office is secure. Nothing out of the ordinary, there. PLus, I placed some, I would like to say, brilliant charms of my own." The New Yorker looked around the room. "I assume you've sweeped the office... Considering...." Benjamin gasped.

"Quiet!" Ben said to the both of them. The back wall had a light glow to it... His eyes darted at Dacs. He looked back at the wall. There was something funny about it...

Dacs rolled her eyes which caught something on a desk across the room. A coffee mug was glowing. Ben saw something too.

"It looks like someone naughty has been here."she said to Ben and other man."If you think something is wrong with that wall then you're right. Always go with your first instinct. It's the only thing you can trust."

She saw him looking at the wall with that look on his face. It was that look he would get on his face when he was onto something.
Wand at the ready she moved toward the desk with the glowing coffee mug,"I'd get my wand out too, just in case."she muttered to the division head.

As she moved she noticed a quill glowing as well on the same desk, which over by the south corner of the room. "I wonder who sits here."

Dacs noticed the quill and the mug, too. As they both started to move in the same direction, towards the back of the room, Dacs said something blatantly obvious. "Trust my instincts? Yeah, it's not like I've been a certified detective for 5 years, earned a degree in criminology, have been division head in two seperate ministries, or anything silly like that. Thanks for the tip, Dacs." Ben shook his head and let out a laugh at his gigantic sarcasm he just pulled out. He reached the wall.

Normally, the spell Dacs casted would reveal any secrets... But the wall doesn't have a clue... "Fascinating... Well, Ben said out loud. "This wall isn't a bug, or a one way viewing screen, or a notification system of sorts..." Ben paused for a moment. "...Which doesn't say anything about the mug or the quill. Which, by the way," Ben turned to Dacs, "You might want to cast muffliato while we work this out..." The man took a step back and then got an idea....

He pointed his wand at the wall and waved it, casting the Disillusionment Charm. The section of glowing wall had become nearly invisible. And behind it... Was a dark flight of stairs going up... And another going down.

"Oh... brilliant..." He looked over at Dacs with a grin on his face. "This is amazing... A hidden stairway. And I BET you it goes to every floor." He put his arms out towards the wall and exclaimed, "This is what I would have done!" He waited for Dacs before continuing with his discovery.

Law Enforcement...of course. It was obvious, was not it? ''It's nice to meet you Dacs and Detective Amsten'' Aurors. Now Ryan had to be very careful since he had two Law Enforcement officers in his work area for security purposes. This was nice but i definitely would not be good for Ryan if they managed to find what he got from Knockturn Alley. ''Oh that sounds promising'' he told the lady with a kind smile and it was time for him to introduce himself.

So shaking hands with Amsten he spoke ''And i am Ryan Chambers ex Auror and Unspeakable and currently i lead the Inspection Committee in this department'' And that was because he inspected well. Hehe.

Then silently Ryan followed the conversation between the two Law Enforcement amployees and when they seemed to be busy with the wall they were talking about, the blond man quickly opened the drawer of his desk, put what he got from the Knockturn Alley inside it and locked it carefully without using magic. Then he dropped the key in his pocket turning his attention back to the others who seemed to be still interested in some glowing stuff on a desk.

That was good so he had more than enough time to hide his things. And when the beauty told him take his wand out as well, Ryan could not help laughing slightly ''Perhaps one of my employees likes glowing things on his or her desk'' Feeling in a good mod, instead of taking his wand out the blond man grabbed his cup of tea and drank some. ''Oh, there's nothing like tea in this huge world, is there?''

And he took another sip from his tea, he realised that the detective man was up to something and then a secret stairway appeared before them ''Oh wow!'' Ryan exclaimed cheerfully ''That's cool. I can use this well...i suppose'' Hehehehehe. Especially when carrying illegal stuff with him.

Benjamin took his mind away from the wall and over to the desk. "No... That's definitely not an employee's desk. Look at all the dust. None works here, that is. Not one has for a long time." He stood next to Dacs and tried not to move anything. "And look," he pointed his wand at the feather and the mug. "The dust underneath has been disturbed. This was placed here recently. 'Can't tell how long ago, though..." He turned to Dacs and gave her a nod to continue doing what she was doing.

He then walked back over to the wall panel as he heard the man's comment, Benjamin turning towards him. "Oh, no. No one will be using this." The Detective turned back to the wall. "And besides. It's not open... We're only looking through the wall panel." To show him, Ben knocked on the wall. "The entrance needs a password. And whoever set the password is good... Because my partner's spell didn't reveal it..." Now Benjamin was thinking out loud. "I could blow the wall down, easy... No, but that would make a lot of noise down the corridor.... Oh! I know!" He turned back around to the both of them.

"It may be locked from the other side, but we can lock it from THIS side too!" He had been thinking at a thousand times a minute. So he paused and waited for the other two.

"Oh, and Mr. Chambers... We'll be talking about that thing in your pocket later..." The man smirked and stared down the man. For an ex-auror, he was bad at concealing things.

Taking another sip from his tea, Ryan took a few steps closer to the detective man his light blue gaze fixed on the wall. Well...okay that was a passage but what was wrong with it? ''Oh of course i'll find a way to use it'' he said kindly and approached the wall to check it right after Mr. Amsten knocked on it. ''Hmm...very interesting'' he said as he knocked on it too.

''If i were an intruder though, i would not prefer using this'' drinking more tea he turned to face the two law enforcement officers. And he was not going to explain why since he liked to hide things for himself including the things in his desk. He had just bought them from a shop in Knockturn Alley and they costed a lot

Whatever...

Again walking to the man, he showed him his cup as he mentioned talking about the thing in his pocket later ''Sure'' the blond man said smirking back ''But before that. Would you like to have some tea?''

"The cup wasn't glowing before. Let's just find out what's up with the glow on the cup."she said and as she reached it. Glancing over her shoulder at Ben,"By the way it's not dust, it's sprinkles. Somebody, looks like a sparkle lover was here."

"Wingardium leviosa."she said, casting the spell. She looked at the cup more closely as she it floated in front her."Yeah, definitely tampered with. There's a monitoring charm on this. Makes the mug operate like a recorder. Mostly, used in the Ireland ministry. Visited there for a while."

Pointing her wand at the cup, she said, "Deletrius. That should do it." Dacs did the same with the quill. They both stop glowing immediately. " So what's your new discovery Ben?"
'Men.' she venomously thought to herself.

Benjamin looked at the man, and stared him down, but not the eyes. "No... You WON'T be using it." He turned back to the wall and pretended to inspect it. Meanwhile, his thoughts were racking in his head about the man. He wondered if he may have had something to do with the intruding. And then he made another comment.

"I don't think this was for breaking in." Ben never turned for the wall. "It was probably placed for making a quick getaway. You see, it's easy to get INTO the ministry, it's getting out once you're detected that's the trouble." The New Yorker turned away from the wall. "So, if YOU were breaking in, what would you do?" Might as well give it a shot.

"And no thank you. I don't drink tea." He smirked.

Ben shook his head. "Don't contradict me, that's obviously dust. Sprinkles would be in flakes... These are small strings..." He looked closely on it. "It looks like sparkles because of the glow." He looked up. "It's dust." The man then looked over the cup with Dacs. But this one had a sign. And Dacs got it.

"Shh, quiet. I know what it is... And it's not just Ireland. Get newer books. These are everywhere. Muggle workspaces, being used to monitor muggles by wizards." Benjamin wanted to keep his voice low enough so the other man wouldn't hear. "And never mind my discovery, I already explained it. Why did you flick off the quill? We don't know what that is yet." Come on, Dacs.

Dacs could feel her temper rising, hot and liquid."It had the glow. Different spells give different glows. And looking at it now, it is dust. I think we should examine this side of the room." she said calmly, looking at the area.

Ben may have been the best but that didn't discredit her own abilities. Besides, he was surveyor because he was good at it. She was Enforcer because she was good at it. Both could recognize dark magic easily with their training.

She looked at him with a blank expression waiting for his take on her suggestion.

Heck, who was she kidding? She didn't feel comfortable sitting in her office, not knowing if anything had came up yet. So, after shutting her door, and locking it with it's key, Tatelyn headed into the Work Area and frowned slightly. Merlin. What was THAT?!

"Mr Chambers," She began, giving her Division Head a smile and proceeded to eye him a little. She'd mention his sarcasm and whatnot with the two from MLE later. And possibly praise him on it, for she'd seen how those two were bickering like a pair of siblings now. That wasn't professional. That was immmature, and it certainly wasn't appreciated in the company of one of her employees.

She'd be speaking to Evander Bole later, she supposed.

"May I ask why there is a staircase in my wall? And why on earth a glowing mug is levitating?" In all honesty, she knew why. Something was UP. That was what.

''If you say so'' Ryan said calmly taking another sip from his tea when Amsten said he would not be using the staircase. Of course Ryan was good at lying plus there was no need for arguing about this with MLE officer right now. So, there was no need to lie either.

As the man kept speaking, Ryan walked past him and sat on his desk while listening to the detective carefully. ''That's right'' he said commenting on the fact that it was harder to get out of Ministry once someone managed to enter. ''But this staircase can also be for innocent purposes'' he went on moving a little to have a more comfortable posititon on the desk ''Like cooperation among different departments. This can be an old staircase used for that purpose'' It was a possiblity after all and there was no proof to claim the opposite.

Then Ryan watched the other officer, the woman, as she examined the desk with glowing stuff however turned back to Mr Amsten when he asked a question. That was just kind of question that he expected. ''Well...'' he began clearing his throat and putting the tea cup on the desk ''I used to help my colleagues by the ways of psychoanalysing. This way you manage to think like the criminal. Actually you become the criminal and psychoanalyse the way his or her mind would work by collecting and analysing evidence. This was my way of working. And to answer your question assuming that i am the intruder i would start to plan my breaking in weeks ago. Then i would come here disgusing myself as an employee closer to the department i want to spy on. Like me working in Education department close to MLE which are on the same floor. So i can spy on MLE Department well. And since you are already an employee no one would ask you a question when you try to get out of this place. I know about all the protection charms but i dont think someone who wants to break in the Ministry would be stupid enough not to take them into consideration.''

Feeling thirsty he reached for his cup again and drank more tea as his department head walked in. Aha! Quickly jumping off the desk he greeted her back with a huge smile ''Ms. Beauchamp'' and he preferred to be silent when she seeked explanation for what was going on in the work area. Ryan Chambers this time was leaving the honour to explain this to the law enforcement officers.

Dacs turned her attention to the Department Head, when she entered the work area. "Well, we found a bug. The origin we won't be able to find out. Anyone could have planted it. But Ben and I will remove the bugs and put in stronger security measures for securing privacy for your office. That is the main task. Thus far we've found two bugs, one in the mug and the quill and the hidden staircase which we are looking at."she explained in a calm and polite voice.

Regaining her concentration, she continued to examine the the area.
Dacs looked up at the division head and raised an eyebrow at him. Shaking it off she returned to looking for bugs.

'I know there are more here somewhere. I can just feel it.'she thought as she moved away from everyone further into the corner. She looked under the desk and levitated the chair to see under it.

"All clear over her Ben."she remarked over her shoulder.

As that smuggler spoke, Benjamin just blocked him out. What he was saying didn't matter... Acting like he knew psychoanalyzing better than Benjamin Amsten... The man who wrote the book. Well, maybe not published. The New Yorker only asked him that question as so he could stop being annoying. Boy, was that a mistake. And then, the department head.

Gosh, he must have looked so foolish, arguing with Dacs. He let his feelings drift out of control. He took a deep breath and looked at Dacs as she explained. He gave her a calm look that said: 'Sorry... And thanks.'

Benjamin nodded in regards to the clear. "In regards to the staircase, Ms. Beauchamp..." The detective turned to the DH for a moment before looking back to the wall. "Your looking through the wall, right now. Actually, the charm I placed is wearing off..." As he spoke, the disillusionment charm he placed was fading. "This was probably an old way throughout the ministry before the elevators were placed. But, whoever closed them off, did NOT want anyone to get back through...." A quick turn towards everyone. "But! I'm sure it's nothing to worry about." A lighter feeling and a smile. "Dacs, we should probably get to our protective spells." Hopefully, Dacs could see through Ben's false smile as to see his concern.

Tatelyn India Knox-Beauchamp wasn't silly, she certainly wasn't and just for that fact she chuckled as she watched one of her Division Head's jump off the desk he was perched on when he noticed she was there.

"You're not being a nuisance to our Law Enforcement visitors, are you Ryan? I don't want to have to have words." For a moment, she looked stern almost as if she was speaking to a student at the school she previously had taught in; but in the next moment she was smiling once more and her attention directed from him as her earlier question was answered by both MLE's

Oh. Tate listened to both of them as they explained it to her, and frowned almost. "Two bugs? Oh." Did that mean she was being targeted by something? Okay. Calm perspective. "Are you sure it's not just decoration though? I mean, there are some pretty imaginative people in my Department." And there was her theory. Right now, she was refusing to take anything other than that answer, until it was perfectly proven. Perfectly.

Oh. The stairs. As Tate watched the disillusionment charm fade, she frowned a little and cast the charm upon the wall once more, before walking towards it to inspect it a little closer. "Maybe it was simply one of our old Minister for Magic's decision to have it closed off? Perhaps it was a health and safety hazard. There's always a logical explanation, as to the complicated futile almost- You seem worried, Mr Amsten, it'd be nice to be kept in light of your thoughts while in my Department." Of course it would, it was one of the reasons she had left her office to come and see what was going on.

Turning her head to glance over at Ryan, Tate smiled softly, and brought her gaze back to Ben. "I also don't appreciate the way you spoke to Mr. Chambers, it's not professional, and it's rude. I assure you i'll be speaking to Evander about this." And also about the way the two MLE's had been with one another.

Now that seemed like a touchy subject.

What? What was that? Ryan, at first, just stared at the Law Enforcement man as he blocked him out while he spoke then he could not help but laugh. Laughing he put the tea cup on his desk and managed to stop it once his department head spoke to him. ''Ehem, so sorry'' he said adressing everyone still slightly smiling. He could not help it though, this detective man was quite unprofessional and immature. His partner, on the other hand, who he had been arguing so far gained a smile from Ryan Chambers when she looked at him.

Hmm...

Then turning to his boss lady, the blond man cleared his throat again. ''No, i am just helping since they asked me a question.'' and yes they just came to the conclusion that he mentioned earlier: for innocent purposes. But it did not matter much now. '' I was helping anyway'' he quickly added and sat down on his desk again ''But it looks like i had better mind my own business instead of being helpful for i cannot reach the greatness of someone'' snickering he opened his drawer with the key in his pocket and started to sort his belongings.

Ah, see Tatelyn knew full well her Division Head had been trying to help. She'd seen that. There were the moments she'd been in complete silence while watching, before she entered in on the conversation properly. "I know." She confirmed, as she turned to face Ryan properly, her eyes flickering back to the wall and stairs, then to the MLE workers, and then back to Mr. Chambers.

"I'd appreciate you giving your thoughts, Mr. Chambers. You have a job, this is your level as much as it is mine. Your help is always appreciated, whether or not others like it." She was in charge here, was she not? And there was no way some MLE bickering pair of almost-children were going to be setting any awkwardness between anyone. And she valued her employee's ideas more than she did her own, in entirety. Ryan had been here longer than she, so he knew more really.

Of course, she was thankful that MLE had offered to lend a helping hand.
