Level 2 Work Areas and Cubicles
 

Having retrieved another file, this time on Professor Pilliwickle, Chloe walked back to her desk, still extremely embarrassed by her behavior in Antigone's office. She set the file down on her desk and tucked Cadence's letter in her purse. She would figure out what to do with it later. Opening the file, she began her work.

J.J. Starr looked at the new offices. Not bad at all. Joe jon Montcenaggio wants to knoiw the employees he never met.

Antigone swept into the room with a tight smile on her face. "Hello, everyone! As you can see we have now combined the work areas for all Level One employees. I hope that this will encourage you all to work closer together... Within reason that is," she said with a chuckle.

Looking around the room she said, "Now, do any of you have any questions for me? Or are you all ready to have a bit of fun?" THere was a twinkle in her eye as she spoke her last words.

Chloe looked up from her work as Antigone made an announcement to the workers. Things were still a little tense around the office. Fun? What kind of fun? A skeptical expression appeared on Chloe's face. Work and fun just didn't seem to compute and a common combination in her brain. Leaning out of her cubicle and raising her voice so Antigone could hear her, she said, "Fun, Ms. McArdle?"

Turning to face Chloe she said, "Well, I thought we could decorate this place... it is a bit drab, you know. Let me see..." She raised her wand and swished it around a few times, then pointing it at the wall she giggled when vines, flowers, and butterfly appliques appeared. Turning her attention back to Chloe and the rest of the office she said, "Come on, let's get cracking. This is the place that all of us will be working, why not make it a bit brighter?"

Okay, as far as Ottera knew, 'fun' meant 'so much fun it's unbearable' She drank her hot tea, which was bitter. She loved bitter raspberry tea!

Chloe giggled quietly to herself. The men in the office would probably not approve of decorating the office like the Secret Garden. Decorating the office? Well, hmm. Where was Asher's awesome interior decorating skills when she needed them? Looking around the office, she tried to think of a color palet that would be suitable for an office. Something... calming. Blues maybe. Using the contrasts of light blues and dark blues. Taking out her wand, she swished it in the air at the walls, painting the top half of the walls navy blue. Then a white horizontal stripe appeared about a little further than halfway down the walls. The bottom became striped in the same navy blue next to light blue.

"How's that, Ms. McArdle? And we can hang some artwork up on the walls, maybe?" she asked, looking at her boss. Hopefully, this would make up for the... incident in the office.

Antigone spied one woman sitting there sipping her tea... WHAT?! Who sips tea at a time like this?! Placing her hands on her hips she smiled and said, "Hello there. Why don't you come help us decorate"


Antigone clapped her hands together as Chloe painted the walls. "Oh that looks lovely! Now we need some window treatments for these enchanted windows!" she exclaimed. "Who wants to give that a try?" she asked, looking around that room. "Feel free to decorate your desks within reason, of course. I want this work space to be your own." she told them all.

Oooh.. DECORATING. INTERIOR DECORATING! "Hi!" She said ... a little too loud. Heh. "D-decorate?" She asked a little nervously. Ooh brightness! "I'll try the windows, then move on to my desk, then continue with everything else."

Antigone nodded her head enthusiastically toward the woman. "Yes, yes, do help. I think you will do a great job with our enchanted windows here," she said in a bright voice.

Ooooh! This was going to be some fun for sure. Guess who's desk was next to the evil Division Head she had once met? Yeah that's right...HERS!! Briony was going to make a point to avoid talking to her as much as possible. Cause she was a meanie! This whole new work area was sort of weird and different. Hey at least she'd be around people she knew like Charlie. Examination Authority Division Head. Check.

Briony looked up to see Antigone walk in a chat with an employee of her Division. Ottera wasn't it?

En-enchanted windows? "Thanks!" she said brightly.


ooc: will we be repainting the room? If not, what color is it? Ottera's got a load of color ideas!

Antigone looked at the ALREADY BLUE WALLS, courtesy of Chloe over there and waited for Ottera to add her touch to the windows.

" being one of the only males here, I guess I could help climb the ladders and such" J.J. Starr told Antigone. " I am not really into decorating" joe jon montcenaggio said to Antigone. Painting would be ok for me" J.J. explained to Antigone. This sounds more like work then fun J.J. Starr thought to himself.

Antigone really wished people would pay attention to their surroundings a bit more. Turning to JJ she smiled tightly and said, "Well, Chloe over there just magically painted all of the walls this lovely blue on blue so that isn't necessary. And since we can all use magic I don't think it is necessary for you to be climbing any ladders. I don't want anyone getting hurt." She sighed heavily and then took her leave from the area she was in.

Reaching the door she smiled back at everyone and said, "Well, I leave you all to do your decorating then. Have a field day with your desks, WITHIN REASON. If anyone needs me send me a memo for I am stepping out for a bit to tend to a matter." Antigone gave them all a wave and headed out the door.

Joe Jon Montcenaggio likes his desk, He is not changing it. J.J. Starr daydreams of the Samantha days here. Good times, good times, she seemed pleasant and Jake was cool.

Chloe returned to her desk and looked around her cubicle. The walls of it could use a bit of color. Pointing her wand around her, she began change the color of her cubicle to dark purple with a hint of silvery sheen. She then pointed her wand at her desk, turning it black with silver handles. Once all of that was finished, she realized she needed to lighten it up a little. Using a summoning spell, she summoned paintings, pictures, and plants from her home and dressed up her office. Of particular importance were the photographs that she stuck to the walls of her cubicle as well as on her desk.

J.J. Starr put his picture of his Wife Katalin on the desk. Then he put the picture of his newborn William and his new wife Katalin on his desk.

A paper airplane memo flies into the work area and floats up to the wall in the front of the room, slowly unfolding it sticks itself to the wall. It reads:

Chloe was sufficiently pleased with the amount of work she had accomplished today and began packing up to leave with the mind to continue her work in her new apartment while eating dinner. As she headed for the door, she saw a memo fly through the are and attach itself to the wall. Deciding she had better read it before leaving, she walked over to where it was stuck on the wall and scanned it for important information. By week's end. Right. Well, she'd already finished one report, and her second report was almost complete. Soo....

She flicked her wand at her desk extinguishing the light and paraded her high-heeled feet out of the office, looking forward to a relaxing evening with just herself and old Pilliwickle's file.

Ottera decided to make her desk great. "Accio briefcase!" she yelled. The briefcase appeared in her hand. "Okay..first I should get the curtains. I'm not using magic for them. Well on second thought..abeo colo!" She said to the curtains. They switched to light blue, and the floral pattern was also light blue. Ottera sighed. "Abeo..colo." The pattern was navy blue now! It matched the walls perfectly. "Wingardium Leviosa!" She moved the curtains atop a curtain rod. Pretty! She let them there.

Briony looked up form her desk as she saw the other employees changing around the office. She thought it was a great idea. "It looks great everyone. Nice job," she smiled at those who were working on them. Right now she needed to continue working on their assignment, the files. Hopefully people were still taking this thing seriously.

She stood up and walked over to Chloe's desk. "How have your files been coming along?" she asked her. They were do soon and Antigone was expecting them.

Chloe smiled up at Briony as the woman approached her desk. "My files are finished. Both of them. And I've already handed them in," she replied. She sat in her chair and continued looking up at Briony, waiting to see if the woman needed anything else of her. If not, Chloe was going to go back to organizing the contacts she had acquired since starting at the ministry. Having contacts was always a plus, and they always needed to be findable when you needed one.
