Daisy entered the room with a bright smile on her face. "Hello, Professor Marchand." she greeted as her large brown eyes caught sight of the rather interesting assortment of objects on the professor's desk. What was in the bowl? Oh, so many questions. Daisy quickly made her way to a seat at the front of the class and sat down, preparing herself for the lesson to begin.

It was almost Halloween, which meant it was over halfway to Christmas, and that made Sam happy indeed. She had no plans to dress up this year, but still smiled at the decorations and the smell of pumpkin spice in the air. She didn't take any refreshments for now though, having just had breakfast. Maybe she'd take a cookie with her for a snack after the lesson if there was any left.

"Hi Professor Marchand," she greeted as she crossed the classroom in front of the professor's desk and headed to the middle of the room. Unpacking her things, she spied the objects on the desk. A pillow, a photo of a monster and weird looking ball. Huuuuuh. Curious indeed.

Maisie grinned. She loved sweet things. She wasn't a fan of tea so much, but she'd go for anything pumpkin at Halloween. Her stomach felt warm and fuzzy for the first time since leaving home. Halloween made her happy. Halloween goodies? Even more so!

She spotted Sam and waved.

Maisie offered the professor a very smiley, "Hello!" and sat down, wondering when the refreshments would be allowed.

Nothing about today was good.

It was time for her weakest subject. And, because Halloween was right around the corner, she had to put up with the ridiculous decorations that were all over the school, including this classroom. She was in awful mood already. So, bright side, it couldn't get much worse? There were even sweet treats on offer on arrival. But, because those treats didn't include hot chocolate, she wasn't interested.

Rhea didn't even look at the strange items on the Professor's desk. Not yet. She just took her seat, gave Professor Marchand a curt nod and a brief smile, hoping to indicate that she was at least willing to learn, and, finally, got out the thing she'd need for the lesson.

Was it time to graduate yet??

Noelle yawned as she headed into class. Seventh year was certainly a tough one. One full of rewards though. If only she could make it through to the end of the year. She'd have her NEWTs done, be able to transform, and GRADUATE! While some of her classmates were scared to graduate, she was excited. She'd get to start YATi training (hopefully) and move to the next part of her life.

She glanced around the room quietly and gave the professor an exhausted smile and a wave. Heading to the middle, she took a seat. She almost went to grab a sugar cookie but.... she couldn't afford to eat one of those right now. She'd pass.

Shay arrived for Charms class and as she entered the classroom, she smiled. Professor Marchand had really gone all out. The room was so festive with Halloween decorations everywhere. Since Halloween was one of Shay's favorite holidays, she was really enjoying the vibe.

"Good Morning Professor. The room looks nice." Shay found a seat and dropped her book bag next to it. Then she went back and got some tea and cookies. Returning to her seat, Shay made herself comfortable. She got her textbook, parchment and quill and placed them on her desk. It was then that she noticed the unusual array of items on the professor's desk. Shay had no idea what that was all about. She'd just have to wait and see. In the meantime, she would just enjoy her Halloween snacks.

Aymeric walked towards the Charms classroom with a small delightful smile. He particularly enjoyed Charms lesson ever since he was a first year. However, it wasn't the only reason he was happy - he enjoyed the cool brisk weather and he simply adored Halloween. Orange was one of his favourite colours, and as everyone knows, orange flourished during Halloween and Autumn.

The Ravenclaw entered the classroom, greeting the professor, "Good morning Professor Marchandm." His smile was still visible. Aymeric observed the sweets. As much as he would of loved gobbling them up, wasn't it a bit too early for sweets. Tea on the other hand seemed more appropriate for this hour - it smelled terrific as well.

Aymeric took a seat at the front of the classroom, placing his white wand on the table. He was curious for today's lesson, and the objects placed on the Professor's desk lit up his curiosity even more.

It was almost Halloween and Etta still had no idea what she was going to dress up as... maybe it was better to just skip dressing up this year, after all. It was too late to plan anything now, anyway. She entered the classroom, greeting the professor with a bright smile. Why was he holding a bowl? Her eyes drifted to the things on his desk before looking up at him again. “Hello, professor.”

She made her way to a desk somewhere near the front and sat down, wondering what he had in store for them today. She leaned back against her seat and waited for class to begin.

Remy loved Halloween, or at least he loved it as much as you could any day where you still had classes and homework and training and exam preparation to do... But he did really like the lessons surrounding it, when the Professors tried (and usually managed) to link their lessons to the fun day and trend.

Walking into the classroom, with his bagslung carelessly over his shoulder, he offered their Professor a care free smile. "Morning, Professor. Ready for Halloween?" Grinning, as it was obvious the older man was indeed ready, Remy slipped into his seat.

...Baseball, Frankenstein and a pillow??

What.... Even...??

Nope. Still wasn't happening. If Derf had perfected his Banishing Charm at all he would have tried to send the table of treats into non-being because NOPE. He was even more nope about food now that rumors about bleeding thunderbirds or griffins or whatever it had been had reached the third year's ears. Paintings in blood on walls and ceilings? Yeah....when historically had THAT happened?

He needed to learn his parsletongue and FAST.

"Good day, professor," he greeted with MUCH suspicion as he made his way over towards an empty seat while only half paying attention to the items on the desk. He was far too preoccupied thinking about how best to learn parsletongue.

Matt has put some LOUD MUSIC ON in the 6th year boys dorms that morning so him and his dormmates could WAKE UP properly and in time for class.

That meant he still had tracks from the oldie Muggle classic 'Sister Act' playing in his head. AND he was dancing to it, o' course.

OHEY, SWEETS! YAS! His favourite thing about Halloween, WAHOO!

"Hi, prof, thanks for these!" The Gryffindor did some Carlton-like dance side steps towards the table and started helping himself. One could never have enough sweets. These pumpkin drinks were pretty good too, Matt couldn't complain. But he was mostly going for the cookies. Yum!

Charms class a day before Halloween, hey? Vi entered the classroom and smiled when she saw the decorated hanging bats and floating jack-o-lanterns as well as the snacks in the corner. Then she saw Professor Marchand, holding an interesting bowl of orange things. Hmm... What was that? "Hello Professor Marchand! How are you?" she smiled at her Head of House. She hoped he was doing well! Her eyes drifted to the items on the table. A pillow, a photograph of frankenstein's monster, and a baseball bat. Her eyebrows raised. What an interesting collection of items. Hmm...

She helped herself to some pumpkin spice tea and took a cat cookie. "Thanks for the snacks!" Then she took a seat next to Etta. Heeeeey bestie! "Whats up, Etta?"

It was nearly Halloween and that fact had distracted Stasya a bit. Especially because it seemed like maybe even the castle was getting into the holiday spirit, more than just the decorations that were appearing everywhere, but also, Halloween meant almost December and baby brother, even though part of her still felt the hole her papa had left in her. The one she’d talked to Professor Hirsch about. She had done what she could, and now it was just yay for distractions. There seemed to be lots of those too, what with the people constantly seeming to be watching the lessons and just everything.

She had tilted her head to give the stuff on Professor Marchand’s desk a curious look as she’d entered the classroom. None of those seemed Halloweeny, well aside from the monster picture. Definitely curious, but she gave the professor a grin anyway. ”Good morning Professor Marchand!,” she said, making her way over to a seat by Derf, and waving at Noelle, Etta and Olivia before digging in her things and pulling out a bag of cookies she’d made. Because Derf’s theory and all, it paid to be prepared.

”Want one?,” she quietly offered.

Oooh, wow. The classroom was VERY orange.

Not that he was complaining. He quite liked Halloween.

Cameron especially appreciated the assortment of different shaped cookies laid out at the front of the classroom. "Hello, professor." Smiling at Professor Marchand, he quickly picked out one or two (okay, maybe five) cookies before taking a closer look at the other items on the desk. Huh. Weird. As far as he could tell they had absolutely NOTHING in common. Only the photo of Frankenstein's monster appeared to be somewhat related to Halloween.

Huh.

After a quick peek into the bowl the professor was holding - he wasn't offering those orange items to them, right? He gave him a polite smile nonetheless, just in case - Cameron moved to sit down near a Ravenclaw in his year (Aymeric). Now, those cookies. Which one to eat first? Hmm.

Halloween was nearly here, wasn't it? Kirk arrived taking notice of the decoration but not really having a reaction to them. Well, maybe at the Frankenstein photograph. Who could ignore that? A soft smile emerged from it.

"Hello Professor." Kirk greeted, "Nice picture." Acknowledging the Frankenstein's 'beauty' for one before choosing a spot to reside before class started.

HOLYYYYYYYYY MERLIN.

They were going to have some FUN today in this class, weren't they?! "Heyyyy, Professor! TRICK OR TREAT?! This lesson looks super fun and exciting!" she said, suddenly skipping to her desk instead of just walking. "Happy Early Halloween! Your decorations look super awesome, and...did you know you have a really creepy looking picture of a monster on your desk?!" When Maddie got excited, she tended to ramble, and that's exactly what she was doing right now.

Maddie took a seat but continued to squirm. Tomorrow was Halloween, the lesson looked super exciting, and there were treats in the back of the room. Speaking of which...WHYYYY did she sit down without getting any? She bounced out of her seat and went and chose a pumpkin shaped cookie. Eating it happily, she went right back to her seat.

Tomorrow was Halloween! That meant Kitty would e doing the reverse of what most Muggles did and witches and wizards did on the day. Usually people would dress up as witches or vampires or other spook, dark beings - but Kitty was already Goth all year. Being Goth wasn't a costume for her, it was a lifestyle and one she embraced and loved with every fiber of her being. So on Halloween, she'd instead dye her hair bubblegum pink and her nails painted white. She'd also cover herself in silvery glitter. Halloween was the Other Kitty, the not-Goth Kitty.

Today wasn't Halloween though, and she was in her normal Hogwarts uniform. Her hair was completely pink, though, which didn't go against class rules.

"Hey Professor, how are you this morning?" She pointed to the picture of Frankenstein. "That's a lovely picture, I like it." Honestly she did!

Since he had to be in certain classes, Edward Blaze Jr.
decided he'd try to be prompt to them especially ones that could be useful to him later one. Charms were one of those classes. Taking a look around Eddie wanted to walk right back out. Halloween? He didn't really understand the holiday other than it was a chance for evil to come out and blend in with people pretending for the night.

"Hello Professor"


Giving a nod as he walked back to the back of the class without giving a look to any other person in the room. The positive thing about having no friends you didn't have to be social and Eddie hated being social. He liked it the way it was, he didn't want to talk if he didn't have to and people seemed to stay away from him more and more, which he was good with.

Once he sat down his eyes did scan the room, always figuring out where exits and people were in general.

Patrick strolled into the room and saw that there was a baseball on table, man did he miss baseball. It wasn't the same to watch cricket or quidditch, he missed baseball. "Hello Professor!" he hollered as he moved into his seat, he was excited for the lesson the halloween spirit didn't hurt any. "Can't wait to see what the front objects have in store for us." He recognized the picture at the front too, his friends back home liked to watch that movie. Now he really wondered what the lesson had in store for them.

Nathan took his time walking to the classroom. He just had a great breakfast, and his belly's happy so that means he was in a good mood today. "Morning, professor, nice decorations." He greeted the professor with a half-smile. Nathan glanced at the table where the items were and wondered what they planned to do for today's lesson. He would like to have that Frankenstein mask though, it looks really cool.

Alright, Charms class! It wasn't Transfiguration but it was still one of those subjects that the Ravenclaw could get behind. Top five favourite for sure....top two. It just wasn't number one but it was still pretty close.

The Halloween theme that greeted her as she entered the room reminded her that she still needed to figure out a costume. It was all the other experimenting, it left her completely distracted from the fact the day was drawing so close. "Hello Professor." She greeted, naturally gravitating over to the snacks without giving it a second thought. There were always snacks and unlike her bestfriend, she wasn't of the opinion anyone was trying to poison or fatten them up. There were too many inconsistencies in the theory.

Hands full of sweet treats, Jessa turned and headed to the seat by Cameron but not before giving Derf and Stasya a wave on the way there.

Okay, she was ready to begin the learning process, yep.

What was first?

Time for Charms class! These lessons were always super fun, so normally Emmeline would've come bouncing into the room as soon as she could drag herself away from her cruppy. But it had only been a few short days since the incident with the burning gnome in a DADA lesson, and the second year did not feel like bouncing anywhere yet. Instead, a very tense, wary Emmeline entered the Charms classroom and muttered a quiet, "Hi, Professor Marchand," as she passed his desk. She slid into her usual seat near Derf and Stasya, and managed a grim smile and "hiii"'s to both of them as she sat down. She also waved to eeeeveryone she knew in the class, especially Jessa and Miss Olivia.

It had not been a very good week. Purple shadows underscored her blue eyes that would stay fixed on the door until it closed, only serving to emphasize the lack of sleep she'd been getting lately. She hoped there wasn't another...strange adult observing this lesson too. Or the same one, which would be even worse. There was one bright spot in her mood, though: she liked Halloween a LOT, and the classroom was veeery Halloween-y.

Seventh year was rough, okay? She really hoped this year would end soon so no more stress for her and she could live happily ever after. No more studying, no more NEWTS and also no more lightheadedness. But at least Ava felt much better today despite of her low blood pressure condition.

The Gryffindor walked to the classroom with granola bar on her hand, just like what Healer Reed said that she couldn't skip meals anymore. Oh, lucky that she wasn't late. "Good morning, Professor." She said to the man as she entered the classroom. "And nice classroom decoration, by the way. Really suits with the current holiday situation." Although it felt like something's missing. Hmmmm....

"Hey, girls!" Ava cheerfully greeted her roommates (Noelle and Shay) and decided to sit not too far from them.

Fifth year. That’s the reason why Skylar was running late for Charms class. Except she wasn’t late, but she wasn’t twenty minutes early which to the Diggory girl felt like she was late. Especially for her favorite class with an equally amazing professor.

Finding a seat near the front - almost as if it was saved for her - Skylar was ready, right on time too as she took note of the materials present for today’s lesson. “Hello Professor Marchand!” yes even though she was emotionally and mentally stressed, she was still good to go when it came to this class.
