 Stepping off one of the lifts or swinging your way through the rotating doors from the reception area, one will find the current state of the foyer to be quite out of the ordinary. The end of the workday has ushered in a remarkable transformation, turning this corner of Level Three into a haven for artistic expression. The opulent rug that typically graces the floor has been rolled up and discreetly stowed away, the lighting has been thoughtfully adjusted to envelop the space in a warm and inviting glow, and soft strains of classical music serenade your arrival. At the forefront of the room, a raised platform takes centre stage, showcasing an antique wooden easel adorned with a covered canvas.
Throughout the spacious area, an array of metal stools and wooden easels have been thoughtfully scattered about, offering participants their own artistic sanctuary. Each stool is accompanied by an indigo-coloured smock, thoughtfully provided to protect your business attire from inadvertent paint splatters. The easels are enchanted to adjust to the perfect height for each artist, ensuring both comfort and creativity. Awaiting each participant's touch is a pristine white canvas, a blank slate for their imaginative masterpiece. Hovering alongside the stools and easels are water cups that contain an assortment of brushes and palettes adorned with dollops of vibrant oil paints.
Select your preferred spot, take your time getting settled in, and mingle with your colleagues. Feel free to indulge in the refreshments -- an array of finger foods and drinks -- gracefully gliding around on trays as you wait for the event to begin.

The memo from level three had piqued Brody’s interest. Now, he may not be great at painting but he did dabble in the art form here and there. This had been brought about due to that time when one of the Ministry’s even included painting pottery and he and Gabriel had gotten around to working on a vase. It had been quite a relaxing experience then and he was sure it was going to be one now.
He immediately approved of the temporary changes that had been made to this particular spot of Level three’s. Clearly thorough planning had been put into the event. Would there be music in different languages though? This was an important question for the Consulate who was fluent in many, many languages. Brody took his time in observing the set up of the easels. See… he was looking for the perfect spot, if there was such a thing when it came to concocting terrible paintings. |

Art had always been one of Evan's less-than-guilty pleasures. He was not good at by any means, despite the encouraging attitudes of his closest friends who were fountains of probably misplaced support, but he did like doing it so he continued regardless of his skill. So despite how poorly pottery had gone for him (the little misshaped vase still having gone to his best friend, since Evan knew Jude would like it regardless of it's imperfections), he made his way through the doors for Level Three's reception area in preparation of joining in.
It probably didn't hurt to also make acquaintances interdepartmentally, more so than he already had.
He'd left his slacks on but gone for a band t-shirt with an array of mushrooms on the front, instead of his white button up. A gift from Chin-hae from his wife's merchandise that they'd had available at her last word tour. He knew that as much as his cousin-in-law hated the association of mushrooms to her name, she wouldn't mind if this particular shirt got mess on it.
Spotting Brody already in attendance, Evan gave a nod of hello his direction before likewise scanning for a spot. Deciding it probably didn't matter too much where he sat, he didn't need to rush to one and instead made his way towards the International Cooperation employee. "Hey, Brody. How are you?"

Tallulah had been a busy bee today. Between attending to her normal duties, she had been buzzing with excitement about the stress relief event she had been planning for weeks. While the idea itself was simple, getting all of the appropriate materials and the best paints was something that needed more effort. Fortunately gathering everything had been as smooth as honey.
Earlier in the day she had been clad in a yellow dress and white jacket, though the department head had since changed her attire. Swinging through the reception doors, she appeared in a button-down woven shirt and a pair of jeans. It was all quite casual, but something she wouldn't mind getting any paint on. Speaking of paint, she was carrying a few bottles of paint with her -- just a few more colours to add to all of the options that were already present.
"Hello, gentlemen!" she cheerfully hummed the instant her eyes locked on the young men standing before her. "Excited to make some happy little accidents? Please do help yourself to some of the refreshments while we wait for more to show. The finger sandwiches are quite scrumptious!"

Normally Chloe would have been quite eager to leave the premises as soon as the end of her shift arose, but with the transformation of level three into an art zone, the redhead was keen to see this event. Although her duties as event concealment advisor were not needed for such a small scale event.
She frowned though when she saw her boss lady and her change in attire. "Well now that would have been smart to bring some jeans, huh?" Considering it was painting and could get messy. "Suppose I'll just have to settle for a gaudy smock."
She took note of the two young gentlemen, one couldn't have been much more than her son's age, and nodded at them. "Welcome!" She greeted warmly, helping herself to one of the mini cucumber sandwiches. "These mini sandwiches are dangerous... you don't realize how many you've eaten," she laughed, but at least they were somewhat healthy?

Brody truly was glad for some company. He wasn’t sure if Gabe would be able to make it to the activity, anyway. Besides, wasn’t Evan relatively good at art? Maybe the younger man could pass some tips onto him. “Hey, Evan. Well, thanks. Not sure this canvas will be feeling the same once it’s had a taste of my lack of artistic abilities.” He grinned to indicate this was a joke since he observed that Evan could be serious a fair number of times. Or maybe Brody just saw Evan whenever the latter was all serious-y.
“Oh hi, Tallulah,’’ the Consulate greeted brightly. “Need any help?” Brody wasn’t there to just look pretty, you know; he was quite the diligent helper, especially if it involved someone he liked. “Hey, Chloe.” Goodness, Brody felt kind of old {employment-wise since he had been with the Ministry for quite some time already}; he mainly knew the longer tenured employees somewhat well. “Shall we try some of those sandwiches then, Evan?” he questioned before moving over to Chloe. “Speaking from experience, huh?” Grinning, Brody added two sandwiches to a napkin then looked around to Chloe again. He was only kidding, by the way. | |

Did she need any assistance? Besides the few bottles of paint she had yet to set down, there really was nothing much to do besides wait to get things started. "Oh no, Brody," Tallulah beamed at the man, appreciating his offer to help. "Just get yourself comfortable. Everything else has been taken care of."
A warm smile was given to the redhead when she appeared from beyond the rotating doors. "Oh, no need to worry, Chloe dear. I'm sure the smock will keep your lovely OOTD from getting messy." And even if the paint happened to go rogue and miss the smock completely, it was just paint -- nothing a little magic couldn't clean up, especially considering the department dealt with bigger messes on a daily basis.
The paint bottles in her hands were then set down, which allowed her to double-check that everything was in order while everyone mingled and got settled in. She herself couldn't help but indulge in a quick snack or two and some light conversation before she scooted her way over to the raised platform.
"Hello, hello, everyone! I think it's time we get this show on the road!" the woman addressed everyone excitedly. A grandiose gesture was made toward the canvas. "This will be your muse this evening." The cover steadily glided upward to reveal the painting that had been hiding underneath, which oddly enough would appear different to everyone and change ever so slightly the next time one looked at it again.
"Now, fasten your smock, grab yourself a brush, and make some happy little accidents!" the department head concluded before climbing down the platform to get settled at her own canvas.

He appreciated the way the Level Three Department Head referred to art as. Happy little accidents did tend to be a majority of what Evan created, particularly considering he was not as skilled as he'd like to be in this area. While he generally set out to make one thing, it seemed to be without fail that subject turned into an entirely different one before the end of the project rolled around. He smiled back at the woman, Talullah he believed was her name, before giving a nod at the offer of food. He certainly would be happy to help himself to snacks - no shyness on that front to be had.
At the other level three employee, Chloe he believed from Brody's greeting, Evan gave another nod of greeting, eyeing her curiously for a moment. There was something that seemed vaguely familiar about her, as if he'd seen her in passing before. But considering they did work in the same building, he chalked it up to that being why before his attention shifted to Brody whom he was the most comfortable around thus far and his reply. A soft chuckle as he gave a shake of his head. "Like she just said," a small nod towards the DH, "Happy little accidents. I'm sure if canvases could talk they'd just be appreciative to be decorated at all." At least that's what he liked to tell himself to feel better about his 'failures'. At the suggestion of trying the sandwiches, the mysteries employee was all too happy to step closer and grab a napkin as well, piling a couple onto them before taking a bite. "Mm. These are good."
Oh, but it appeared it was time to start now, so his attention turned once more to the event host. When the painting was revealed, Evan at first saw a glossy lake with a mermaid's head poking up from the depths, which he was not at all confident he could do a good job of or pull inspiration from. Glancing down at his sandwich to make sure he could make the food to his mouth, he looked up again only to be surprised to see the scenery changed, this time the photo looking more suspiciously like the fountain that could be found outside of the Leaky. He blinked in surprise, looking over at the other individuals thus gathered. "What is it you guys are seeing?" Did it change to the same thing for all of them?
Anyways. Finishing off one of the sandwiches, he made his way to an open canvas, looking again to the inspiration portrait only to see it had changed. That... was going to be very difficult to paint, wasn't it?

"Department of Magical Accidents and Catastrophes," a feminine voice sounded from one of the lifts, announcing to whoever was on it that they had arrived at Level Three. Moments later, the door slid shut and the lift clanged away.
Such a thing was typical, and hearing the lift come and go might not be reason enough to distract one from their paint strokes. However, those who are more observant might realise that no one had stepped off the lift to join the group. Someone pressed the wrong button, perhaps?

Evan had gotten himself settled in front of an easel and was attempting to keep his eyes trained on the photo, so as to keep the image in his head before it changed again, when he was distracted by the sound of the lifts arriving. Despite his best efforts, the Mysteries employee glanced to the side - losing his image immediately - to see who else had arrived. Not spotting anyone new to the group, his head turned this way and that with a curious frown, before he looked to Brody and anyone else of the gathered group who was near by. “Does the lift generally arrive at floors without prompting?” He figured it had to stop somewhere but… why wouldn’t it just wait where it had been last used?
Ev did immediately feel silly though as soon as the words were out of his mouth. Since when did anything in the magic world make complete sense to him?
