Charles Hollingberry EraAll historical records pertaining to Ministry of Magic RPG under Minister for Magic, Charles Hollingberry [IC March 2097 - present; OOC November 2018 - present]
When you step out of the lifts you are greeted by a well lit lobby. To your right there are bathrooms. There is also a security desk here, permanently occupied by two members of ministry security where all visitors must sign in. Further into the lobby there is a waiting area where you may take a seat, though be sure to check in at the large reception desk first as you will be directed to exactly where you need to go, and escorted if necessary.
There are two entrances to the level - the first opens onto a long corridor just past the security desk which leads to the Minister's Office, The Junior and Senior Undersecretary's office, the break room, and several private offices. If you take a left through the first entrance, you will bypass these restricted work areas, meet up with the second entrance behind the reception desk, and find your way to the level 1 archives, the main work areas, and the newly appointed dual conference and meeting rooms.
Still rubbing her shoulder slightly from the collision with the lifts she looked back over at Delyth as all the letters flew into a perfect pile. "Should we divide on conquer, one to go maintenance, one to our department head? Or would it be easier to the tell the story together to both?" Alba adding thinking that both department heads needed to know what in the world was going on with both the lifts and the letter. Alba was only slightly concerned how it would look that both NEW employees were involved in this ... even though they certainly didn't cause the letter jam ... the lift jam ... well that was a different story.
"I'm fine either way really ... but we should get moving before it does it again." Alba didn't want to be here if another round of letters exploded from any further lifts making their way there.
Picking the pile of letters up off the floor now, Delyth turned to Alba, considering what to do for a moment. The truth was, she didn’t know where either thing was so maybe sticking together would be the best idea? Biting her lip, she replied, hesitating now “Umm, well this is my first day so I honestly don’t know where either of those things are located so maybe sticking together would be the best thing to do?” The last thing she needed was to get lost in the ministry with all these letters. “Maybe go to one and then on to the other? Or if one is on the way, we could split up there?”

"Stick together .. good idea." Whew... Alba was a little worried that Delyth was going to say split up and Alba had no clue where she was headed. On that note she looked up and around hoping to see a sign that would say 'maintenance this way', but not such luck transpired. "Well since it's both our first days, I think we should start with our own Department Head ... at least her office is on this floor." Alba added knowing that it was going to be much easier to find Ms. Bones' door than anything else. Taking a deep breath and sighing.... "Well here goes nothing" She added picking up the last of the letters and marching her way to her doom Department Head's office.

It was starting to get uncomfortable. He was starting to get uncomfortable. Not only because he was pretty sure he had accidentally put on a pair of his fiance's pants (they were a bit tight in the waist so they were Sachin's or he was getting fat. But as his pants fit yesterday he was pretty sure he wasn't. And if he was getting fat, it was still his fiance's fault for always making sure he ate/being such a good cook), but also because the reports he was getting from other countries were starting to get worse. He wasn't sure if the Minister had been receiving similar reports, because most of his ambassadors had assured him that their countries were attempting to keep all knowledge anti-muggle sentiments and the increased reports of identify theft out of the news outlets.
So armed with a few reports and a few pieces of correspondence that he felt the Minister should read, he walked into the Reception office. He didn't have an appointment, but he felt that this was information that couldn't wait. If he couldn't in to see Charles, well, then he'd leave the information with January and then follow up with the Minister tomorrow. "Hello," he said walking up to the reception desk. "Is the Minster or Mrs. Bones in?"

Things were finally looking good for the curly haired blonde on level one at the Ministry of Magic. She’d finally gone on a date for the first time in forever, and the most important thing of all, she was on top of her work! Sure, it had almost pushed her to the edge but she’d somehow managed to return her stack of memos to the correct homes and she was on top of her own work too, which was super important, what with Hogwarts now back in term. It really was rewarding, helping to support those families who couldn’t afford to send their children to school. Hogwarts was for everyone after all.
Walking into the lobby, her reports tucked under her arm, ready to go to grab some food because she was now officially on her brake, a wide smile on her face for a moment, until she spotted…him. Standing there with his reports as if he owned the place. She loved being on this floor but sometimes, it really was a pain having the minister share the floor because anyone and everyone ended up down here at one point. Casting a disapproving glance over at him, she walked past the reception desk and past him, refusing to give him the light of day. In a few moments, she’d be out of here enjoying her salad on her own and then she’d get back and he’d be gone and everything in the world would be grand. The plan was perfect…except she hadn’t considered what would happen if she tripped, right in front of him and sent her files across the floor as if she’d just dropped a bag of marbles.

A disruption behind him, turned Conley’s attention from the receptionist desk. A flurry of papers rained down around the lobby. Conley’s face twitched from a smile back to straight as he tried very hard to not to laugh. He wasn't laughing at the girl, but rather the situation. In fact, he had no clue who had fallen over. ”Alright there?” he asked walking over towards the young lady on the ground. ”Did you hurt anything?” he asked dropping into a squat as he fixed his ‘talking to an important diplomat and can’t give things away look’ form on his face to keep from laughing.
He set his own paperwork on the ground by his feet and began gathering up the closest paperwork, making a small pile, and then when the close ones were picked up, he pulled out his poplar wand and waved it, summoning the rest of them which stacked themselves up on his existing pile. The actions allowed the young lady to collect herself.

She had been in the ministry plenty of times with her mother, but as she walked in alone she felt a bit nervous. She hadn't even told her mom she was coming. It wasn't that she was keeping secrets, but she wanted to do things her own way and getting a department head involved seemed to set a bias right from the start.
With that Alana Potter headed into the minister's office. She had been seeing more and more of the minister, but here was different. Here he was the minister of magic, though she didn't even think she would see or talk to him today. At least she didn't think she would be. Now that it was in her mind she felt even more nervous. These were questions she could have asked when he was over for dinner, but again she didn't want to involve her mom, not yet at least.
Moving up to the reception desk she waited to see who she was to talk to about this.

Flutter, flutter, flutter...
It was a common sound, the sound of owls' wings flapping through the air. Typically it was the duty of an owl to deliver messages and memos, but since those had been malfunctioning of late, leaving the owls bored to create a mind of their own, this one particular owl was going for a casual stroll around level one.
The owl paid no mind to the workers below, but it was just rather unfortunate timing that a visitor at the front desk had to be standing right in the path of a rather large blob of owl poo. That blob fell from the owl as it passed and landed right on the woman's head with a splat!
You know what they say: when you gotta go, you gotta go.

As she waited, Alana started to wonder if she needed to go find someone. It didn't seem like anyone worked at the reception area or maybe they were on lunch. It was that time she assumed, but should she just walk into offices? Where was the security for Charles if people could just head into the office area.
She might have to think about asking him that the next time he was around as well, but for now, she would just wait a bit longer. Seeing an owl distracted her thoughts anyway and she looked up to watch it flutter b....
"Ewwww"
The thing pooped right on her face. She looked disgusted and now was really looking around to find something to clean it up with.
