| | Employee Workstations {Employee Workstations} The largest open room on Level Four is the one housing the employee workstations for both departments on this level. Once you have walked past the workstations assigned to the Department for the Regulation and Control of Magical Creatures, you reach the area where you are likely to find employees working for the Department of Environmental Regulation and Protection.
The workstations have been arranged according to the employees' respective divisions; the Enforcement and Regulation Divisions forming the largest squares, whereas both the Oceanoizardry and Botany Divisions' workstations have been moved near the office walls to ensure that the generally unused desks are not in everyone's way.

| Anyone Puff by day, snake by night | Mj's bestie | Always UP to Something... Well it had been an interesting few months, but Griffin felt he was getting use to things and now that the wedding was getting closer he couldn't think of anything else but work, school, and wedding. Though with the wedding Ullr was doing most of that planning and he was just there to say yes to what he asked and needed.
Wheeling towards his desk he looked at the paperwork and sighed, he was hoping to be more hands-on, but he knew the first year and as a part-time, for now, he would be doing most of the legwork when it came to the desk.
Maybe he'd put it off a little longer and head to the greenhouse for some work.

Maybe he'd put it off a little longer and head to the greenhouse for some work. After checking on some of her research projects in the Greenhouse, Olly made her way back into the general work area to update her notes. Other people might have wanted a bigger workstation or office if they were promoted to Division Head but honestly, Olly didn't care. It wasn't like she enjoyed being around everyone else who worked here but she also didn't like the idea of it being too formal. It wasn't like she was running the department. So there, she was still at her regular workstation.
The only change she'd made in all the years she'd worked here was to recently add a photo of her and Schuyler's wedding.
On her way to her own desk, Olly happened to pass Griffin's...and decided to stop. She wasn't in a hurry after all. And frankly, updating her notes was usually the most boring part of her work. "Hey. You doing alright?" He seemed to be doing fine work-wise. Or at least from what she could tell. |

He had just moved a few papers to make it look like he was doing work there before getting ready to head out and go somewhere less boring when he looked up and saw Olly. A smile crossed his face as he enjoyed talking to people, but he truly appreciated Olly after getting to know her when he interned. "I'm good, yes, just looking at the paperwork that was left on my desk. Probably going to head to the greenhouse for a bit though. How are things going with you? Need any help with anything?" He didn't want to seem too eager as a newbie, but he didn't want to hang at the desk all day either if she had something he could be doing. "Are you and your wife coming to California for the wedding?" He hadn't invited many from work since he had just started not long ago, but he had invited Olly, though he didn't know who had responded since that was all Ullr's obsession for planning and such.

Olly pulled up a chair and sat down next to him, both not wanting to seem like she was talking to him out of politeness or simply making smalltalk and also not wanting to look down on him. "Good." She shook her head as he asked if she needed help. "Not right now, no. Maybe later."While the paperwork wasn't one of her favorite things, she still wanted to do it herself.
Plus, she figured it was quite boring for someone who wasn't directly involved with what she was working on.
Right, the wedding. "Yes, we're looking forward to it. Thanks again for inviting us." It had come as a surprise since they weren't exactly CLOSE but Olly was looking forward to it all the same. Schuyler all dressed up for a wedding alone was worth it. Also she was quite curious about Griffin's spouse. |

As she sat down he moved some of his own paperwork over to the side of his desk, "Alright, just let me know. This newbie stuff that is mostly sitting here is killing me a bit." He knew it was all part of being new and the fact that he was at an entry level and not even full time yet, but to get in the greenhouse working on something would be the best.
A smile did come across his lips when she said they were coming, he was glad. "I don't know if the invitation said, but most of my side are muggles, I hope that doesn't change anything." He knew Ullr's family would most likely not be there for that reason, they didn't approve of him being a muggleborn. "The beaches there are fantastic though, grew up surfing every single day. It was hard to move here when we did."

Olly made a mental note to include him more. Or maybe she could do something right now, too. "I have some notes to update but that shouldn't take too long. You want to join me in the greenhouse later?" After she was done. So in...hopefully less than an hour. It SHOULDN'T take too long.
The wedding though. In California. That was first thing she'd noticed after reading the invitation. "No. Of course that doesn't change anything." She shook her head and even gave a small shrug. Honestly, she couldn't care less. And not just because she, too, grew up around Muggles. "I'll tell Schuyler to bring her bathing suit then." A hint of a smirk flashed across her face but was quickly replaced by a smile - she had to keep up her professional appearance after all. |

He was glad to be working with Olly, she was nice and seemed to understand more what it was like to be new and want to be involved, he couldn't help but give her a smile when she included him. "Yes, I'd love that actually." He glanced at his own work before focusing back on her, "My parents have let me set up a greenhouse on their property which has been nice, but keeping my mom out of it sometimes, she is so interested in our plants and stuff, but I'm afraid she'll start experimenting or something without me." Chuckling a bit he rubbed the back of his neck. It was weird sometimes having muggle parents and having the same interest for the most part with one of them. "Oh good, I mean I haven't come to it being a problem for the most part, but Ullr's parents and family are the worst. It's been rough on him, I mean he has always been different from them and once you meet him you will see how different he is, but I still can't believe how unsupportive they are and not just because I'm muggle." Him being a guy was an issue it seemed too.
He nodded at the suit comment, he hoped everyone would. It should be a good time for all and if his brother's latest invention worked he might get to actually catch some waves for the first time in years.

It should be a good time for all and if his brother's latest invention worked he might get to actually catch some waves for the first time in years. The only thing Olly wasn't TOO fond of about Griffin was that he loved to talk. A lot it seemed. And usually about his personal life. Nothing too intimate (fortunately) but talking about his family as much as he did was enough for Olly to put that aspect on his 'cons list' in her head. "That's nice of them." Not that she'd say anything about it of course. She just didn't think this was something to discuss with colleagues.
Olly had never personally encountered any hostilities towards Muggles or Muggleborns but she knew it still happened to other people. "If they don't want to be at your wedding, then that's their loss." Was all she said about it, however. Griffin seemed to be strong. And he had a supportive partner it seemed. He didn't seem like the type in need of a shoulder to cry on or a pep talk. Not that Olly would have been the right person for either of those things. |

Actually Griffin knew he talked lots and he knew he had an issue with shutting up, but he enjoyed talking and since he hadn't made many friends at the ministry yet he was far too quiet and given the opportunity to speak when Olly was around his words just kept coming. "What about you, what is your family like and how did you get into all this?" Had he ever asked her that question? He wasn't sure he had.
He wheeled from behind his desk and smiled, "Yeah, that's what I keep telling him." He wasn't going to let his fiance's family ruin his life and he was happy to be marrying Ullr so he was going to move past whatever they dished out. "Shall we head to the greenhouse?"

He was asking about HER family now?
Olly took a moment to consider what she should say. "They're nice." There. That was accurate. She did love them. "I've always been interested in Botany." Which was...accurate even though she didn't share the reasons behind her initial interest in the field. Her and Griffin weren't close friends - or friends at all - so she was not ready to get into her family history just yet. No offense.
Greenhouses. Hm. She had been planning on updating her notes before going back but...figured she could do that later too. "Yeah. Let's go." Olly got up from her seat and returned the chair to its original place. Ready? |

He had always been friendly and talkative, maybe that was his American coming out, but he did enjoy getting to know people. Had he been too forward, he now wasn't sure. Nodding to her answer he wasn't going to pry any further.
Now, this was something he could be good with, glad that she was ready he put his papers away and grabbed the to-do list he was to do at the end of the day, figuring watering now would check it off and maybe he could head out on time. Whenever he did things at the end of the day Griffin would get distracted and without realizing be hours late getting home. Something he figured he'd probably have to try not to do once married. 'Yes I'm ready, lead the way." Moving away from his desk so they could head out. "[/b]

Hogwarts RPG Name: Rayna C. Thorne Third Year | To Anyone ♥My Very 1st Tag | ~Filofax:Forever~ | ~Evil Slythie~ | Chris' Caretaker♥ Stumbling out of the lift, Astara made her way down the corridor and into the Environmental Regulation and Protection workstations. 'Why did I feel the need to bring so much junk?' She mumbled to herself as she readjusted the box in her arms so that a potted Lovage plant wouldn't tumble to the floor.
Would it be tough being a small fish in a big pond? Probably. But there would surely be good times ahead for Astara as she began a new chapter of her life. She smiled slightly at the thought and as she opened the doorway to the workstations, had to narrow her eyes a little.
It was green! Very green.
Astara scanned the room, and found what must be her desk space. One in between two others that had been cleared of personal belongings of whomever last worked there.
She made her way over and placed her belongings box on the desk, and then carefully began to unpack.
'Notepads, quills, land maps, reference book...' She set everything in place. With her Lovage plant having it's own little place right at the topmost right corner of her desk, and a few photos of her family strategically placed elsewhere.
