I have been crochetting like a madwoman. Don't ask me why. I found the coolest sock pattern online that's very flexible and easy, so I went for it. This first pair aren't very HP-ish, but I'm posting a picture anyway just because it's socks. RIP Dobby. hehe.
SPOILER!!: click for funky rainbow socks
^ These were crocheted, based on this pattern with a 5mm (8H USA) hook in Red Heart Comfort, knitting worsted 4 ply, 100% acrylic yarn in colour 3169. They've been washed so they're fluffed up and very soft and comfy already.
These next ones ARE HP-ish all the way. GO GO GRYFFINDOR!
SPOILER!!: Click for Gryffindor socks
^ These were crocheted, based on the same pattern with a 4.25mm (G/6 USA) hook in Red Heart Soft Touch, worsted medium 4, 100% acrylic yarn in colours 4608 (dark red colour) and 4422 (orange colour, which looks nice and gold-ish in thin stripes, next to the dark red).
I mainly make bead and wire jewellery, which isn't very Harry Potter-related at the moment, but only because I've been looking for some special things to include with my designs that make them more HP-ish, and those things haven't come along yet. I have made a pair of sterling silver and green swarovski crystal hoop earrings that I made with Kris/Slytherin in mind ( *hopes she doesn't read this because I haven't decided not to keep them yet* baha) I'll try to take pics of them soon, though my jewellery pics don't tend to turn out nice.
Here's my table from a craft fair I did right after Halloween though:
SPOILER!!: Jan's jewellery sale
^ I did pretty well but still have loads of pieces. If anyone's interested in looking closer with an aim to buy some, holler and I'll get you closer pics. I also take commissions and will design something for your special occasion/outfit. Just email me.
I plan to make more Potter-related jewellery soon, with house colours, I think.

Wicked! House color jewelry would be super cool. XD I would totally buy some if I could. And I love the socks (we love you Dobby). And the Gryffindor socks rock my world. If I had even a bit of talent in this field I'd make myself some Ravie ones.

I'm actually thinking about making some Ravenclaw and Slytherin ones too, when I run out of these colours. I'm going to try and get one more pair (at least) out of these Gryff colours though. I had bought two 5oz. balls of the red and one of the orange, and these socks didn't finish off even one ball of red, so I'm gonna go for it. hehe. Might try for the first-year/thick stripes one next.
edit: I tried thick stripes.. but the orange I used to fake the gold (cause there wasn't any yellow/gold colour at the store) just looks WAAAAY too orange that way. So I'm making them thin stripes. Will post pics when I finish.
Jan - I love all your stuff, especially the house color socks! You know, I had been thinking about making a pair of Slytherin socks and this pattern would be absolutely perfect! Plus, I had wanted to do some more crochet stuff, anyway, seems I've been focusing so much effort on knitted stuff lately. I'm actually working on a pair right now of knit socks, kind of a bobby sox with a pompom on the back with the socks and pompom in forest green and grey (photo up later!) but I really like your socks a lot! Go you!

Reason: I couldn't remember the word I wanted and my mouse was being mean, it wouldn't let me scroll up. XD
I forgot to post before,Jan, but your socks are awesome. I use the same pattern but, I'm not sure mine came out as good (I'll blame the yarn hehe). I also love your jewelery and can't wait to see what else you come up with .
I have to say (but I think you already know this) that you are so utterly talented! I will have to chat to you on MSN about some jewellery! I love ear rings You make ear rings I take it Jan?!
Ooh FINALLY. A Harry Potter related piece of jewellery. Unfortunately, the pic is very blurry, but here it is.
The chain is silver plated, the wings are 20 guage half-hard sterling silver, hammered slightly, and the snitch is a faceted, 8mm amber crystal with gold finish around the holes. One day I'll get a better picture of it, or another one like this (since this belongs to someone hehe).

That necklace is PURE love, Jan. Really amazing! You are so creative. *squeezes*
Man, I need a better pic of tis I need to see the cryyyystal
I'd make a thread here... But I'mma wait 'till I have some HP themed stuff. XD

Those socks are so cool! I already told you that though.
I used 18 guage, half hard sterling silver wire and an amber coloured crystal bead with gold accent.
Cut a 3" piece of wire and centre the bead on the wire. Use your flat-nosed pliers to bend the wire on either side of the bead to make a V shape of whatever degree angle you desire.
Use round-nosed pliers to make a loop in the wire on one side, that will be the tip of the wing. Once the loop is made, adjust your pliers and bend the wire back a bit towards the loop again.
Use the round-nosed pliers to loop the remaining wire under, towards the bead to finish off the wing. You can loop it back any way you like, really. Use a longer piece of wire to allow for more room to embellish the wings with wider loops or double loops.
>
Repeat this on the other side of the bead.
Work-harden your wings by tapping them lightly with a hammer and bench block.
Add chain of your choice to make a bracelet or necklace. Add clasps or bend the wing slightly to use it as both a charm and clasp.

OMG. I love that bracelet..... -drools-

I recently came across these little toys called amigurumi. They're a Japanese stuffed toy (animal, person, food, whatever) single-crochetted in the round. SOooo cool and they looked like fun to make so here's my first one. I just made it this afternoon. I'm sure I'll get faster at it as I get used to doing it. This was fun and easy, and I plan to make the rest of the Hogwarts house animals, all wearing their house scarves.
You can't tell in this picture, but his beak was made from a slightly sparkly black yarn. The rest; Red Heart Super Saver, worsted medium.
