Hogwarts RPG Name: Sylvan Weatherskein First Year | Craft Challenge #10: Aguamenti Crafty
The theme for challenge #10 is Aguamenti.
I figured I'd water down the challenge for this week.
...
Sorry, I couldn't help it.
Here's your guide:
1. You have to begin it now, it can't be something you made before the challenge was issued.
2. It has to be related to the theme in some way, but not necessarily in the most obvious way.
3. You can use designs you found online or in books, or you can design something original.
4. You have two weeks from the date of the challenge issue to complete the craft.
5. Your craft can be any artisan craft medium; knit, crochet, wirework, beads, sculpture (bread dough, sculpey, fimo, porcelain clay, wood, stone, clay, metal art clay, glass, etc), food (cake deco, etc) or any other three dimensional object. Sorry, no graphics or pictures; we have other areas on SS that highlight that kind of art.
6. You must post a picture for us in this thread when you're done. Include info about it, what it's made of and such. If you want to share your pattern or include process pictures (how you make it), feel free!
7. This challenge is open and supportive of all levels of ability, from the very beginning beginner to the most advanced artist. All are welcome and praised!
8. Tell us what you're going to do with your final product; keep it, gift it or donate it.
9. First one to post their final project gets to pick the theme of the next challenge!!!
This challenge expires on September 12, 2008. (Though members are welcome to continue posting pics of any of their projects relating to the theme in this thread after the challenge ends as well as the previous themes (snitches, bookmarks, house pride, Quidditch, Weasley, Death Eaters, hex, Magical Creatures, and Divination).

Eep. Okay, so I made earrings again (I just like to! I'm sorry!).
These earrings are made from silver chain and Swarovski bicones in three colors. They sort of emulate that shooting of water, with the source of the stream originating at the ear wire.

I made this for this challenge but decided not to post it. I've since changed my mind, but it really does need an explanation. Aguamenti got me thinking about where conjured water might come from; does it come from the air, immediate surroundings, or would it be channeled from the nearest body of water? In the latter case, if Aguamenti was cast at Hogwarts, wouldn't the water come from the lake where the giant squid lives? And would it not look like lake water, all green and full of algae, muck and minerals? At once, this design came to me, but upon completion it really didn't seem watery to me at all. Swampy maybe, definitely mossy, but not watery. Still, here it is.
edit: It's a collar necklace.

My first post in this forum *dances*
Anyway...
I made this pendent using teal and ink blue transparent glass (for the beads), crafting wire, melon beads, a torch (for making the beads) and one jump ring.
The lighting isnt great, but its the best shot I could get at the moment.

Very late, again, but I just got all my pics back (finally!) and wanted to include this scarf I knitted. I found the pattern online, and the theme for it is water. The pattern looks very much like water, if you look closely - |
