"Oh my GOD you are so lame!"

Ezra had managed to sneak herself into his room once again, but Cale was not in the mood to respond to her. Not now. Not ever. His whole life had gone all wrong.

He had been in his room ever since he stormed out of the Alley, and come straight into his room and sulked. He had left his bed only to go to the bathroom. He hadn't eaten in twelve hours, but he didn't care. He couldn't feel the pain from his hunger anyways. He was too depressed.

"Alright, do you know what normal people do during a breakup?" Ezra demanded, stomping over to his window and yanking open the blinds. Cale groaned and turned over in his bed and threw the bedspread over his head. Ezra could be nice at times, but mostly it was when he was too depressed to be messed with. It threw off her whole day. So, of course, her reasoning was selfish, as usual.

"They go and they talk it over," she explained, yanking the covers off his head. Gah. Why was she being overly persistant today?

"No, I don't want to. She hates me, she's never going to forgive me," he mumbled, pulling the cover over his head again.

Of course, his step sister was not about to be stopped that easily. "SERIOUSLY. You're flipping driving me insane. You look awful too. Get up, shower, and go make up with your stupid girlfriend so you'll stop being all mopey!" she yelled.

Cale rolled his eyes and got out of bed, rubbing his eyes. He turned to the mirror as Ezra stormed angrily from the room and winced. His hair was a mess, he hadn't shaved in a bit, and he definitely did need to shower. Maybe Ezra was actually right for a change...maybe he could repair the damage he had caused.

Well, to be fair, he hadn't caused all of it. Evolette had caused a good chunk, Anna had been at fault once or twice, and Nico had DEFINITELY been a huge factor in the fight they had just had.

After he showered and put on clean clothes, he made sure he looked totally perfect before heading out. After all, Anna might be as depressed as he was. He had felt like crying.

He hadn't, though. Cause boys don't cry. Especially Cale Newell.

But as he left his house and headed for Diagon Alley, he couldn't calm the uneasy feeling in his stomach that the year ahead was NOT going to be a very easy one.

I almost feel guilty.....

The Cale-Hate

Cale Newell was annoyed. Beyond belief.

He was ticked off with everyone. Well, ok, not EVERYONE. That's just Cale exaggerating again.

First off, that silly Evolette girl, who had caused so many problems already, insisted on being rude to Anna, which was a definite NO in his book. When Cale told them off, the way he should have done, Evolette had the nerve to call him a drama queen! Him! A drama queen! She was the one causing all the drama in the situation, not him.

He was also annoyed with Anna's mum, cause she wacked him with a newspaper. Geez, all he had been trying to do was fix the problem, and he got treated like a dog who had just peed on the floor.

Secondly, he was sick of people giving him attitude. Especially people he didn't know. Like that one pompous new kid he had met arguing with Callie in the streets. That kid was gonna be a trouble maker, Cale could tell. He had his eye on him. Bwahaha!

And then, of course, there was his new fellow prefect, Seth something or another. His last name didn't matter. Cale knew it at one point, but it had dropped out of his head since then. Anyways, this kid seemed to have become BFF's with Nico overnight, and was hell bent on causing Cale as much grief as possible. This included hitting on his girlfriend when Cale was sitting right there in the bloody compartment, and gossiping about him behind his back with Mr. Oh So Mighty Nicholai Toussiant. How did that little weasel get to be prefect anyways? Or even in Hufflepuff, for that matter? He acted more like Trelawney than someone like...Tancred.

The Slytherin girl prefect still remained a mystery to Cale. Oh well, off topic, back to the list of things bugging Cale right now:

As usual, Nicholai Toussiant still remains Enemy #1 in Cale's mind. He was being worse than ever with the flirting, but Cale was NOT going to give into that this time. Things were good with him and Anna, and he wasn't going to lose it again and risk breaking up with her for real this time. Plus, Cale was a man. Men never gave into pressure. Duh. That would show that they had no backbone. Which he totally did.

When did all this Cale-hate happen, anyways? It must have started with Evangeline and her friend Ellie...ever since then, people just seemed to hate him left and right. In his defense, at least Evangeline and her friend had a good reason to hate him...but what had he ever done to Nico and Seth? Nothing! He hadn't even met Seth up until a few days ago. And as for Evolette--she should have just gotten off her high horse and apologized for being rude to Anna. There. Plain and simple.

Ohmigosh! What if all the stress of the coming term caused Cale to go BALD? AHHHHHHHH! That can't happen! Cale refused to lose his curly locks, point blank.

Well, this term is gonna be fun. NOT.

The Name on the Table

Paul Kutcher was officially the most hated wizard at the Gryffindor table.

Cale could hardly believe that everything had happened so quickly. One minute, Anna and him were enjoying their meal and the next, they were arguing over what house some guy they didn't even know had been in Gryffindor like 30 years ago.

He was the first to admit it--fighting over Paul Kutcher's former house was stupid beyond comprehension, but after the whole situation was over with, he had realized something.

They were always arguing lately. That was all they ever did--they were either too jealous or too egotistical or too bossy, and everytime the fight ended, they just put up their white flags and moved on. No compromises, no more talking about the problems. Just pretending they didn't happen. And he couldn't take it anymore. The fights got worse and worse and nothing was ever done about the problems they had.

All he had wanted to do was talk. Talk and smooth things over, work out their differences and find a way to balance out the negative personality traits they possessed to make it work for them.

But Anna had other plans.

She broke up with him.

Cale refused to think that she dumped him. How could Anna dump HIM? Not to toot his own horn or anything, but he was quite the catch! Not to mention, he had been pretty sure he was a damn good boyfriend, except for the few ego-blasts he had had during the course of their relationship. Other than that, he still cared about her much too much to be willing to toss their whole relationship out the window because they simply couldn't talk about their differences.

He was quite sure that he had loved her, too.

To make the situation even worse, Seth Paton, that sneaky, slimy little git of a prefect, had hardly waited a minute before making his move. Heck, he didn't even have the respect to wait a DAY before he made his way to the table, ready to comfort and console Anna, although Cale knew that he had other things on his mind. He was a guy. Guys were hardly ever nice to girls unless they wanted to make them their girlfriend. Except Cale, of course. He was nice to everyone.

And then, to confirm his fears that Seth and Anna might be a new hot item, Anna had kissed him, full on the lips, right in front of him.

That, right there, had been the worst pain of his life. Worse than breaking up with her in the first place. Worse than when Ezra punched him in the gut. Worse than when he broke up with Cora. Seeing Anna kiss Seth would be locked in his mind for the rest of his life, no matter how hard he had tried to get rid of it.

After that, Cale Newell was angry. Very angry.

He was not one to sit back and let Anna do that to him. No way. He was gonna get even with her. Big time.

He had an evil plan in the works, and he wasn't alone.

So, Anna Greingoth thinks she can play dirty, huh? Well, so can Cale Markus Newell. Just watch.

Awwww, he'd loved her? She loved him, too. Too bad they fought too much to actually say that.

The Post-Breakup

Paul Kutcher just couldn't stay out of Cale Newell's stupid life.

Cale had received a letter today from his mum, which was a nice change from last year. He had been so wrapped up with all the drama going on with himself and Anna that he had forgotten all about that dumb name until, to his surprise, he found it in his mother's letter.

Great. So he had a fake girlfriend, the man he had never met but had, in a way, broken him and Anna up was living in his house, and was now stuck with the job of a 14 year old Muggle girl. Cool.

To put the cherry on top of his fantastic start to term, Ezra had turned even nastier now that she was at the same school as him.

She had been relatively quiet in the hallways and in classes, trying in every way possible to distinguish herself from him and just pretend he wasn't even there. That was cool, though. Cale honestly didn't care if she talked to him or not. For a while, he even forgot that she even went to school with him, until she actually started talking to him in between classes.

It started right after the party in the common room for Anna. Surprisingly, Ezra had failed to show up for the party (I know, shocker, right?) but she had heard about the awkward moments between Cale and Anna and the whole necklace thing. For some reason, after that, she felt it her duty to stick her nose into his business and alert him of what an idiot he was.

"Gawd, Cale, you're so stupid! Can't you see she only kissed Seth to make you jealous? Geez, you're thick!"

"I hope you know that absolutely no one is fooled by this little charade you and Evolette are putting on."

"You know, I think the Slytherin's might ACTUALLY make a 'I Hate Cale Newell' club if you keep up this idiotic behavior. I may join too, if they go through with it."

"You punched a WALL because Anna is leaving? Why aren't you CELEBRATING? You're unbelieveable!"

Until finally, one night, Cale had had enough of her and told her to shut it before storming off to bed. The next morning, when he went down to retrieve the Herbology homework he had taken all night to complete, he found it ripped into pieces on the table where he had left it.

Well, it was nice to know that at least SOME people would never change.
