Hey everyone! Ok so here's the new post. It might not be as good as the others, but it's going to get good soon! I promise! <3 Cai ----------------------- The day started off great. I woke up at nine and ate my breakfast at nine thirty. It was mid-august, so it was hot out. Hot, but beautiful. I decided that it would be great to go out flying on my broom. I ran upstairs, grabbed my broom, and headed outside. I flew around a bit, feeling the warm breeze against my face. It felt nice. But then I saw something flying towards me. I knew it was a bird. But as it came closer, I saw that it was an owl. It was a brown owl. A school owl. It landed on my broomstick and dropped the pack of envelopes in my hands. It flew off as I started drifting towards the ground. As soon as I landed, I ran inside. Everyone was at the table, eating breakfast. My mum gave me a puzzled look and said, "What have you got there, dear?" "Letters," I said excitedly. Then I looked at everyone else. "From Hogwarts." Hermione jumped up and grabbed the letters out of my hand. She handed one to Ron, one to Harry, one to me, and then looked at one herself. We all opened our letters excitedly. All of us, except Harry, that is. He looked down at his letter sadly, and I knew that he was thinking about Dumbledore. The letters said that Hogwarts was reopening. Professor McGonagall was to be the Headmistress. Ron and Hermione had smiles on their faces. Harry, however, stood up and went outside. I knew I should have followed him, but he wouldn't want to talk to me. I know he loves me, but he doesn't want to be near me. Although, I knew that if I didn't talk to him, he wouldn't come to Hogwarts with us. It wouldn't be Hogwarts without Harry. I slowly opened the door and stepped outside. I spotted him sitting by the tree in our yard. I walked over there, expecting him to yell at me. "Harry?" I asked shyly. See what he does to me? He makes me shy. Harry looked up at me. "I'm not going," he said simply. His face was expressionless, but his eyes were full of sadness. I sat down across from him. "I understand, Harry," I said quietly. Then, he gave me a look. As if he were shocked. I think he was expecting me to ask him why. I casually looked around the garden. Trying to avoid his eye contact. You know how I get when I look him in the eyes. Although, I couldn't help but feel as if he were staring at me. "Aren't you going to convince me to go back to school?" Harry asked, uncertainly. I looked at him, a bit surprised. "I can't make you do anything, Harry," I said. I was double-talking. That's when you say something, but mean it in two different ways. See, I can't make him go back to school. And I also can't make him date me. There you have it, double-talking. "But I thought that's why you came out here. To convince me to go back to Hogwarts," Harry said softly. I felt bad. He was right, I came out here to convince him. But I had another trick up my sleeve. Something called reverse pshycology. "I came out here to comfort you. I understand why you don't want to go back. Because of Dumbledore and how it wouldn't be the same," I said sympathetically. "So you can stay in Godric's Hollow, like you said, while we go back to school." "But Hermione and Ron said that they would come with me. That they'd be there for me," Harry said forcefully. "Alright, so they'll stay with you, while I go to school," I said. Harry had a disappointed look on his face. "You're....You're going....back to school?" Harry managed to ask. "Yes," I stated. "I need to. There's so much that I need to learn. If I want to help you fight Voldemort, than I have to know the more advanced spells." "But, you can learn things right here," Harry said. He obviously wants me to stay with him. "Not as well as you can learn them at Hogwarts," I said smartly. Harry's eyes filled with even more sadness, if that was possible. It's working. "But I want you here. Where it's safe," Harry practically pleaded. "If you haven't noticed, Harry, it's not safe anywhere," I replied. It was true though. "I'm not making you go back to school, but I'm going. Whether you like it or not, I'm going." "But why would you want to go back to school after what's happened?" Harry asked sadly. "Because it's what Dumbledore wanted," I replied. I thought that if I said that, it would make him want to go. From the look on his face, it was working. "What?" Harry asked softly. "Dumbledore would want all of us to go back to school and learn what we need to know," I started to say. "That's why McGonagall is reopening the school. She knew that's what he wanted." There was silence for a few minutes. He looked at me and I looked at him. I knew he was thinking about Dumbledore again. I was basically wondering if my plan was working. "So," he began. "You're definately going. There's no way to talk you out of it?" His eyes were practically begging me to say yes. "No," I replied quietly. There was more silence. He looked away from me and I knew he was thinking again. "Well, I guess I'm going back too," he finally said. I couldn't help but stare at him. He just said he was going back to Hogwarts! My plan had worked! And it was easier than I thought it would be. But what I was the happiest about, was that he was going back for me. The next thing I knew, I grabbed his hand and held it in mine. He looked over at me and I smiled. I was expecting him to pull away and give me that lecture about protecting me and such. But he didn't! In fact, he squeezed my hand slightly. And then, he started rubbing the back of my hand with his thumb. Shivers went up my spine everytime he did. I was happy! Not only was Harry going back to Hogwarts, but I am this much closer to having him back in my arms! I was so excited when Ginny said that our Hogwarts letters came. I know that it would be different there since Dumbledore is gone. But I still love school, and I couldn't believe that it was reopening. Not only that, but my letter said that I was to be Head Girl! Can you believe it? I'm going to be Head Girl! Once Ginny left to go find Harry, Ron and I were alone in the kitchen. Mrs. Weasley went to her room. Ron came up to me and kissed me lightly on the cheek. "Congratulations," he said about me being Head Girl. "Thanks," I said, smiling ear to ear. Nothing could ruin this moment. "You know, we still have to talk to Harry. We told him we'd be there for him, but we've already decided that we're going back to school." Okay, the moment is now officially ruined. "Oh, I forgot," I replied sadly. "What are we going to say?" "I'm not sure. I don't want to hurt his feelings. He is my best mate, after all," Ron said. I felt the same way. Just recently, we told Harry that we'd always be there for him. Now here we are, completely excited about returning to school. Harry's not going to want to go back to school. "We just need to tell him straight out," I suggested. "We need to say that we're going back to school, but if he needs us, we'll be there." And it was the truth. Ron smiled at me. "You're right," he whispered in my ear. Then he kissed me softly. I love it when he does that! So the good things came. Ron. School. Head Girl. But now, I have to face the bad things. Telling Harry that I'm going to school. Trying to keep Harry from hating me. And maybe, convince Harry to come back as well. What am I thinking? I'm in way over my head. |
:glomp: OMG!! I loved this post!!! Hehe!! I liked the Ginny part best... Its so nice to see Ginny and Harry together even if it isnt 'official' I wonder what Hermione and Ron are gonna say when they find out Harry is going back to school... PAMS!!! I loved it!! |

I totally LOVE IT! I'm reading more once you get offline and I have no one to talk to. But I did my dare and I read the first post. Now I need to go goose you!! See ya darling!!! :D ok, I read it all, and it's so good. I have a LITTLE bit of advice: You go back in time to before the beginning of Ginny's bit, to post Hermione's bit. So I just wanted to suggest that you chang the order to the propper cronology (tottally can't spell sorry). |
