Ginny


It’s been a few months now since school has started. Harry always seems to be sad whenever I see him these days. I think the effect that Dumbledore’s not here anymore is actually starting to hit him. I also think that his sadness wears off on me sometimes when we meet up with each other at night. We hardly do anything together anymore. We barely kiss. We mostly just sit with each other in the silence. It’s really starting to annoy me! But hey, at least I get to be with him. It’s better than not being with him! And the best part, is that Hermione and Ron are so thick that they haven’t figured it out yet. Although, I think Hermione’s catching on…

Anyway, it’s Saturday morning and that means that it’s the first Hogsmeade trip of the year. And yes, McGonagall actually came to her senses and let everyone go to Hogsmeade. But sadly, I won’t be able to spend it with Harry. But I’m still determined to have fun! I’m going with my friend Bridgette and her “boyfriend”. The thing about those two is that they obviously love each other, but are too afraid to do anything about it. And at first, I wasn’t excited about going with them, in fear of being the third wheel, but now I’m rather excited. Those two are quite fun!

I walked down the stairs from the Common Room and headed towards the Entrance Hall. I knew it would be chilly out, for it’s October, so I wrapped myself in a cute jacket and a scarf. Perfect! I met up with Bridgette and Talan and then we pushed past Filch, on our way to the village. The day really was perfect! A chilly breeze, but a cloudless sky. Wonderful!

The three of us chatted and went in and out of the stores. Buying candy. Ordering Butterbeers. I was really enjoying myself… without Harry. Surprising! After tiring ourselves out, we plopped down on bench, in which Talan secretly grabbed a hold of Bridgette’s hand. How cute! I casually looked away, as to not interfere with thei new found love.

However, my eyes set on something unforgettable… and my body froze. For my eyes were staring at a boy with platinum blonde hair, walking away from Hogsmeade and up to the Shrieking Shack. What he was going there for… I have no idea.


Hermione


I was getting ready to go to Hogsmeade with Harry and Ron, and I was quite excited, for I was sure that McGonagall didn’t want us to go to Hogsmeade this year. But I’m happy that she changed her mind. And after putting on a dash of makeup, I headed downstairs into the Common Room to meet my friends. Oh, and I forgot to tell you! Ron and I had a small discussion about how we felt about each other. Okay… so a small argument. And it ended rather well, actually. We decided that we were both confused about how we felt, and that we would take things slowly. So… in a sense… we’re “together,” but not necessarily “dating.” I guess…

When I met up with them, we made out way down into the Entrance Hall just in time to see Ginny run out of the castle with her friends. I smiled softly at Harry, wondering if he knew what my smile was about, but I guessed that he didn’t. He always seemed to have a lot on his mind lately, and that got me thinking. Will he be alright?

After leaving Honeydukes and buying all the candy we could buy, Harry sat down on a bench and sighed. I found this the perfect time to question him. Sitting down next to him, I give him a sympathetic look and grab his hand for comfort. “Harry… what is it?” I asked him softly.

He stared straight ahead of him, not looking at anyone or anything. “Nothing. I’m fine,” he replied monotonously. And I knew he was lying.

I looked up at Ron and gave him an apologetic look, but secretly asked him if he could leave. He shrugged and headed down the road a bit. I turned to Harry again and was determined to get something out of him. “Harry… is this about Ginny?”

He turned his head to look at me, as if asking why she would ask that. “No,” he said simply. “Ginny’s… fine.”

I sighed. “Harry… I’m not stupid. I know about you and Ginny and how you see each other every night. Now, is something wrong?”

He stared at me and smirked softly. “Nothing can get by you,” he said casually. “But no… nothing is wrong with Ginny. Her and I are fine.”

“Well, then what is it?”

“It’s… more of a personal thing.”

“Harry, if you can’t even talk about it with me, then how do you expect anyone to understand?”

“I don’t,” he replied firmly. Then, he stood up and out of my reach, heading back up to the castle. Sighing at my lack of an answer, I returned over to Ron. “Sorry,” I mumbled and grabbed his hand. He squeezed it softly, as if telling me that it was alright, and then we walked back up to the castle. Silence falling over us… and the day.

AWWWWWWWWWWWW no no!! whats wrong with Harry??? don't leave me hanging!! i want to knoww!!! *dies*

Hey! Alright… so I’m posting twice today… mostly because I want to get to a certain part of the story. Hee hee… but you have to promise not to kill me after this. It’s part of the story…

Ginny


So I sat in the Common Room, waiting for Harry. I secretly told him earlier via note that I had something to tell him, but he seemed to think that it wasn’t so important. It was a little past midnight, and the Common Room was empty. Where could he possibly be? I needed to tell him that I saw Malfoy walking up to the Shrieking Shack. It might be very useful information for him!

After a good half an hour, he finally showed up, sauntering from the Boys’ Dormitory. I jumped up from the couch and ran over to him, giving him a brief hug. “I have to tell you something,” I said quickly, yet quietly. Then, I guided him to the couch. All the while, he was quiet and showed no expression. “While I was in Hogsmeade today, I saw Malfoy… he was walking up to the Shrieking Shack alone. And everyone knows that that place is forbidden. And I mean that he looked suspicious. No Crabbe. No Goyle. Just him.” I took a breath and waited for him to respond. He must be shocked.

But all the while, he just stared at me. And for a long time, too, so that what seemed like forever, he finally spoke. “And…?”

And? And what? There is no and! “And… that’s it,” I said uncertainly. I stared at him with a worried expression for a moment before I asked something else. “Harry… are you alright?”

He sighed and looked into the fire. “I’m fine,” he said bitterly.

Now, I can understand if he’s upset about Dumbledore, but there is no reason to be bitter to me. I stared at him for a moment before standing up and looking at him. “Well, fine. Then, I’m off to bed. There’s no point in sitting here when you’re not even going to say anything,” I said casually, and then turned to go up to my room. However, I made it to the first step without so much as a call back. I turned to look at the back of his head and he continued to stare into the fire. Something was wrong with him!

Getting quite frustrated, I go back over to the couch and stand in front of him, so he had to look at me. “I can’t believe you,” I said accusingly, but gently. “I thought you’d be thrilled to find out this information about Malfoy, but you don’t even seem to care when I’m getting up to leave,” I added. “Harry… what’s wrong?”

He rolled his eyes and looked away from me. “It’s nothing Ginny. Just leave me alone.”

Alright… now he’s going to get it! “No! Not until you tell me!”

He stands up, getting irritated himself and faces me. “Ginny… it’s nothing, alright? I don’t care about Malfoy anymore! I don’t care about what he does! He’s already done enough to me to the point that he can’t do anything else! So basically, you made me stay up this late just so you can tell me some useless information! As for what’s on my mind, it’s none of your business!”

I had half a mind to slap him right there. But that wouldn’t have helped any. In the mean time, I showed him how fiery red heads could get. “Are you saying that it’s useless to come down and see me?” I asked casually… and he better have a good answer for that!

Harry sighed. “No,” he said quietly. “I’m saying that I’m tired and I’d like to go to bed. Not find out stupid stuff about Malfoy.” Yeah, right!

“Well, Potter, why don’t you just go to bed then. It’s obviously so pointless to see your girlfriend when you can’t even be with her during the day because you agreed to some stupid idea that my brother came up with! As for whatever is on your mind, it might as well be my business, for you have not spoken to me in a decent conversation in two months!” I shouted. I needed to get all of this off of my chest.

Harry just stared at me, clearly shocked by my words. Although, he didn’t speak, in which I calmed down a bit. “You can’t dwell on the past Harry. Dumbledore’s gone, we all know that, but you need to let him go,” I told him softly.

“Hey!” he shot at me. “Don’t you even go and accuse me of that. I know perfectly well what’s going on with Dumbledore, and I don’t need you to remind me of it!”

“Of course not, because you think about it all the bloody time!”

“Maybe because it’s important to me!”

“And I’m not?”

I wasn’t trying to sound selfish… but after all, he was my boyfriend. He should care about me… and he hasn’t been.

He just stared at me for a moment, not saying anything. I could tell that he didn’t want to say anything either. So I’m not important to him! Well, fine!

Shaking my head, I replied. “Goodbye, Harry.” And with that, I ran up the stairs and into my dormitory. I was not going to cry! I was not going to give him that advantage! And while I thought of that… tears began to form in my eyes.
