What Is Most Dear To Us – Sa13+ This one is all about Sirius, inspired by a line in OoTP the movie ;) I hope you enjoy it guys! :D Thanks Cai for beta reading! ~*~.:.~*~ “Who is she?” asked the raven haired boy, looking through his round black glasses. It was odd that most people would consider that look dorky, while James Potter was one of the most popular boys in Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. His hair was messy, his eyes were a dark hazel, he was arrogant and somewhat cocky, yet, he had a good amount of so called ‘fans.’ The only girl he wanted to be with, however, was the one and only Lily Evans, who his three best friends had long got tired of hearing about. “That’s what I just asked you. Who is she? I’ve never seen her around before,” asked the boy sitting just beside him; his best friend Sirius. Well, neither were boys anymore. At seventeen years old, close to finishing their last year in school even if September had just recently begun, neither of the four were boys anymore. They had grown up to be quite the handsome bunch, actually. James had given up on any other girl other than Lily, Remus Lupin didn’t quite have that interest his friends possessed, and Petter Pettigrew just didn’t know what he was doing. Sirius Black seemed to be the only one who still chased the girls, using an undeniably charming smile to lure them into a date. He hadn’t quite found a girl like James had found Lily. “She’s new. She was home schooled until this year. I believe she’s in Hufflepuff,” replied Remus, who was amused by his friend’s inquiry. He turned in his seat across from his friends at the Great Hall. Everyone was eating breakfast at the moment, but in a far off corner stood a group of about three girls. One already had her books for class, and that was the one all four had stared at until another accompanying girl nudged the one holding the books to point at them, and all four looked away. “I think her name is Emily, but I don’t know her last name. Interested already Padfoot?” added Remus, the same amused smile playing at his lips before he innocently continued his breakfast. “Maybe. I’m just curious,” replied Sirius, his eyes once again rising to examine that same girl again. She was lively laughing along with her friends, her slender figure sophisticated but she seemed to have no problem cutting loose. Dark raven-almost pitch black- curls hugged her cheeks and framed forehead, but her hair was short and bouncy as she talked along with her friends. For a moment, Sirius’ grey eyes met her sea blue ones across the hall, but again he looked down at his plate and pretended he had done nothing. “I think Mister Padfoot has got new prey to go after,” snickered Peter, earning him a raised eyebrow from James. He looked over the girl himself, watching her before she finally exited the hall. “She looks like a bookworm. I never thought a bookworm would be your type, Padfoot. That’s more like Moony,” he teased, but all Sirius did was smirk, Remus rather smiling smugly. “I’d go for anything, really,” Sirius finally replied. “She didn’t look so bad. Plus, all I did was ask who she was. How did this suddenly develop into me trying to go after her? I’ve never even spoken to her …” “That’s never stopped you before-” “Leave it alone. Honestly, all I did was ask who she was. Is that so terribly wrong?” he asked dramatically, as if pretending to be hurt by an insult that hadn’t been there. The three accompanying friends exchanged a knowing look before they snickered under their breath. He knew the look of curious inquiry and slight interest Sirius seemed to develop when his eyes lay upon a certain girl, and they had just spotted it when his eyes lay upon this particular Hufflepuff. Emily, according to Moony. |

Chapter Two Anyways, I had this chapter written up for a while, so don't expect the third one to go up so quickly! :P Hope you guys like it ;) Thanks Cai for the beta read ;) ~*~.:.~*~ Once conversation had drifted off to something far distant from girls and dates, such as pranks and the load of homework the friends had received so soon into their school year, they soon realized it was time to part from each other. Peter had Potions, James had Muggle Studies, while Remus and Sirius both had Transfiguration. They all had Defense Against the Dark Arts together this year though, which was a definite plus. “Don’t forget your textbook, McGonagall threatened to give you detention if you don’t bring it to class again,” casually called the brunette Gryffindor prefect as he headed up the stairs. Sirius suddenly froze, an expression of almost utter disbelief across his face. His textbook! Remus sighed knowingly. “You forgot it,” he declared. Shuffling his books in his arm a little, he checked his wristwatch. “You got a good fifteen or so minutes to get back to the tower, find it, and get back to Transfiguration. If you run, maybe you won’t be too late,” he added, but before he had completely finished his words, Sirius had yelled a thanks over his shoulder and was sprinting down the hallway. He couldn’t get detention again! It could become a problem once he came down to planning dates with certain girls. Sirius had made quite the dash to make it in time. It was more of the search in his messy trunk that took him so long. At last, he finally found the desired book before checking his own watch and figuring out he still had a few more minutes. He flipped through a couple of the pages as he hurriedly headed down the hallway, just remembering his homework was supposed to be somewhere between those pages. He hopefully wouldn’t have to go all the way back to the tower and find that too. Without realizing it, he had carelessly bumped into someone, too emerged in his frantic search for his notes. He looked up in time to mumble a sorry, when he nearly froze as he came upon those same blue eyes he had admired this morning. Sirius blinked in the realization, suddenly wondering if he had truly just been left speechless—breath taken by her. “Uh-sorry, I wasn’t paying attention,” he excused himself. He gave her his signature move, grey fathomless eyes seeming to sparkle as a charming smile was sent her way, and he shuffled his forgotten books to stretch out his hand to her. The girl merely nodded in acknowledgement, sending him a simple smile. She had not fallen for his looks as so often girls easily did, but maybe this one was rather shy. “Emily Sabell,” she replied as she returned the hand shake. Before Sirius could get a strike at starting up a conversation and figuring out what was it that she liked and disliked, she was also checking her watch hurriedly. “Hey, I got class now, but I’ll see you around,” she smiled politely, and without a further word, she was walking down the hallway the same way Sirius had just come from, her robes following at her ankles. He could not quite remember when someone had so frankly rejected him before. He stood, a bit dumbfounded, in the middle of the hallway just staring at the spot in which her bouncy yet short curls had disappeared, before he too realized he was late to class. He had not even sparked a bit of interest! She was far from even caring to speak to him, which he found awfully odd. He stuck by his original idea; she was shy. After all, he had barely gotten a glimpse of those sea blue orbs since that morning’s breakfast. And now that he thought about it, he hoped he would be seeing them a lot more often. His feet absent-mindedly guided him to McGonagall’s classroom, and the very first words that broke into his thoughts and pulled him back to reality were the sneer, “You’re late, Mr. Black.” |
*giggles* Poor Sirius! Emily didn't even notice him... :( Hee hee! It's okay... I still love you! I can't wait to see what happens next... please post soon Niky, or I'll die!!! PAMS PAMS PAMS! |

Chapter Three Dedicated to the eager Rhea, the traveling Megan and the intelligent Cai :P  ~*~.:.~*~ Thankfully, only points were deducted from Sirius as he came in late to class. Although he did hear a couple of mumbles from other Gryffindors and some snickers from Slytherins, he ignored them and walked right past them. He took a seat beside his best friend Remus, and the lesson went on with the same level of bored-ness every other lesson seemed to be made up for. Sirius was quite happy to flee the classroom once it was all over. His second class went by, third, and finally it was time for lunch. He ran a hand through his thick black hair, messing it up a bit so it fell before his eyes a bit. He was still awfully confused as to why Emily had passed up the chance for a talk with him, although it really could be that she was a studious student and wanted to get to class on time… even if she was late as it was. Maybe she was shy, or could it be one of her friends had warned him away from her? After all, lots of rumours flied around when it came to who he dated. He was probably just blowing this much out of proportion. She had been late to class, and she had wanted to get there on time just as he had meant to do. He sighed, and as his eyes looked up, he noticed right in front of him, at the entrance of the hall, stood the same beauty he had been trying to figure out all morning. If all year was going to be like this, then he might have a problem. “Hey Emily!” he called to her as he began to walk her way. She turned with a beaming smile, which fell a bit as she discovered who had called her. She had been expecting someone different. “Hi… Sirius,” she replied with a polite smile, for a moment looking like she had forgotten his name. “Did you end up being late to class?” Lame… “Yeah, but I was forgiven for being new into the school,” she replied a bit carelessly, her blue eyes looking towards the Great Hall tables again. “I can show you around if you’d like,” he offered, trying to pull out that charm most girls seem to like in him. “No, that’s fine—” “Emily!” They both turned on the spot another Hufflepuff girl, and two other Ravenclaws, who were calling out to her with a smile, inviting her to come along to wherever they were going. The same beaming smile had been replaced upon her lips, but even as she turned to face Sirius she was still acting far too polite. “Anyway, I have to go, I’ll see you around.” She nearly ran up to her friends and away from him, one of her friends holding onto her to whisper something in her ear, curious eyes watching him before the four girls set off down the hall and away from his eyes. He sighed. What in the world had he done wrong? Away from anyone else that had just seen Emily run off almost eagerly away from him, he entered the hall in the hopes some lunch would make things better. He took a seat beside James without even thinking it, and began to pour food onto his plate. Remus and James exchanged curious looks, while Peter was too busy eating to worry about anything. “Hey mate, what’s on your mind?” asked Prongs as he patted his best friend on the back as if to bring him back to reality. He looked too mellow and down for nothing to be on his mind, for more often than not he was cheerful and full of jokes for anyone who wanted to listen. “Nothing,” he lied as he stuffed some pork and asparagus into his mouth. “Right,” replied Remus sarcastically, but neither of them four added more to their statement. They just kept eating and waited… waited… “What did you do to Lily?” Sirius broke the silence, as James and Remus had expected him too. However, that was not the question they had been expected in the least. “What did I do to Lily?” James demanded, as if insulted by his friend’s words. “Yeah, she used to hate you for picking on Snivellus, now you’re dating her and according to you she’s more and more in love with you every day. What did you do to her?” James seemed stunned by this question. He had never been asked that in such a manner. It sounded as if his friend was accusing him of cursing her or something. Remus seemed to notice the expression across James’ face and laughed. “He means how did you do it. How did you get someone that hated you to love you, especially someone that hard headed,” he helped Padfoot before he ate some more of his lunch. “Oh-uh.. I don’t know, I pretty much did as she wanted me to. I stopped slacking off, I stopped playing pranks on Snivellus, I started paying attention in class, and I kept reminding her I was doing it for her … Guess it worked…” James murmured, much too confused to realize there was probably a purpose behind that question. “What if you don’t know what she wants of you?” Sirius asked, trying to extract every bit of help he could from his friends. “Emily rejected you, huh,” Remus said casually, eating some mashed potatoes before his smirk broke onto his lips. Sirius hesitated a minute or two, wondering how on earth had he figured that out or even if to admit it. He finally settled for a “maybe…” “And you can’t understand why,” James finally caught on, letting go of Sirius’ previous question to tend to a new discovery. Just as they had all predicted this morning, Sirius had his eye on the new Hufflepuff. “I really can’t. I mean come on I can’t even speak to her because she finds a way to blow me off! What am I supposed to do if she refuses to talk to me?” he suddenly exclaimed, before he stuffed his mouth with more food as if in regret that he had let that slip. “Sirius, you have a reputation for switching from girl to girl much too often. Someone probably told her that you don’t quite stick to the same girl for too long, and she doesn’t want that. She’s probably avoiding you so she won’t have you thinking she wants to date you, then end up with a broken heart,” Remus replied as casually as if he had been speaking out about the sunny weather outside. Sirius and James just stared at him as if he had just sprouted another head with three horns and a purple eye. “How do you know that?” James suddenly asked purely amazed. Remus shrugged. “I hear things,” he said simply before taking a sip of his pumpkin juice. Sirius, however, had remained quiet, thinking. Remus had a point. Could possibly be the reason for the treatment he was receiving from Emily? But he wasn’t like that anymore! He hadn’t dated a girl in quite some time actually… how on earth was he supposed to prove to her that he had changed anyway? |
AWESOME! Can't wait to read more!! Don't make me get the acorns out! Kidding! <3 |

Chapter Four Also as promised, dedicated to the Foxy Tailz, who turns 16 in less than 12hrs! HAPPY EARLY SWEET SIXTEEN TAILZ! :D Thanks to Cai for the beta, you rule! short, I know, but good  enjoy guys! ~*~.:.~*~ This was getting ridiculous. It had been weeks since Sirius Black had laid eyes on the new Hufflepuff, and the most he had gotten out of her was a ten minute conversation which a friend so happily interrupted to drag her away. If he didn’t know better, it looked like that had been arranged. He didn’t have a date with this girl; he barely knew that much about her at all. He knew her name, her favorite class, and that she simply hated to be not-early to class. It was like a need of her to sit in class much before the class started; unless she just said that to avoid him, which didn’t seem all that unlikely either. Sirius had grown frustrated with this game. He could do nothing to grasp her attention, no matter what it was. The charming didn’t work, the flirting didn’t work, the gentlemanly ways didn’t work. He even tried studying! Nothing worked, nothing got her attention. His buddies had encouraged him onto a new girl to try to get a date with, they even tried finding that girl themselves, but Sirius refused. There was something about Emily, something peculiar that no one else seemed to possess; or maybe it was the thrill of the hunt for the specific girl that wouldn’t pay attention. He was thinking about this for the millionth time that week as he crossed through the courtyard to back into the castle for lunch. Really, this was ridiculous. Out of the corner of his grey eyes, he spotted those raven bouncy curls that could only belong to one person. She was laughing. Immediately, he stepped back and hid. He had yet to make Emily laugh, yet she was laughing vividly now. He’d have to learn how to do that for himself. As he tried to listen in more clearly, he realized she was talking to another boy. He furrowed his brow, for the more he spoke, the more he seemed to be flirting. He told quite obvious jokes, spoke to her sweetly, and she giggled in return. How was it possible that he had done all of that much better than this guy, and she had never giggled? Curious, he peeked his head slightly to catch sight of who she was talking to. It was a Ravenclaw he recognized, was Robin his name? Something along those lines. He wasn’t known for being with various girls or even all that many girlfriends at all. That he remembered, he had dated one for about a year or two, then gotten into a nasty fight and broke it off the year before. He was somewhat quiet, passive even, but he guessed he could be considered kind. And Emily liked him? By the sound of her laughter, she was truly enjoying herself. Irritated, Sirius walked out of his hiding spot and right past them. Normally, a smile was sent back to Emily whenever he passed her, but not this time. He didn’t even glance over his shoulder at them, or a look out of the corner of his eye. This wasn’t right. No Robin guy would take his Emily away. Well… not officially his Emily… it was work in progress, but no one would interrupt and take that from him. He’d have to find a way to get this guy out of the picture somehow. |
*giggles* First to post... again! I loved it Niky... but I feel so bad for my Sirikins! *huggles him* It's okay... Emily's just being a girl... give her another chance. LOL! Anyway... post more, deary. I need more! PAMS PAMS PAMS PAMS PAMS!!!! |

Bwaha, I was lured here by the Cookie herself, and I am SO here to stay :shifty: PS: I go by the name 'Did someone say Siry?' [pokes Niky] :P First off... Any FF that has Siry in it, like Nina said, has my vote, haha. But you write him, and the Marauders, awesomely. Chapter Five For Jor, 'cause she's got awesome ideas, For Tailz, 'cause I'll miss her so, For Chris Cookie, 'cause she's a cookie, and for Megan, juss 'cause Thanks for the beta Cai, you rule ;) ~*~.:.~*~ “You know, I usually find the ashes quite boring,” came a smug voice accompanied with a ‘thump’ as James jumped over the edge of the couch in front of the fire to take a seat beside Sirius. The common room was quiet; the fire long gone even if a little light remained in the room. Sirius sat on the couch looking at what had once been a flaming fire, a book on his lap as his excuse to stay up late. He wouldn’t admit it, but his friend had truly startled him. “Oh I was just-er… where is everyone?” he came out of his thoughts to discover the common room was empty other than him and Prongs. He laughed and checked his wrist watch. “Well, you see, at about one thirty in the morning, most people are in bed,” he commented quite casually, although his smirk gave him away. Sirius’ eyes grew wide. “One thirty—?! How is that possible?!” he exclaimed, amazed at how much time had passed by. He had sat down there at nine! “Well see, when the second hand reaches the twelve, it becomes a minute. And when the minute hand reaches the twelve again, it’s an hour. And when the hour hand reaches the one point and the minute on the six point, then it becomes one thirty…” His voice was childish and playful, mocking Sirius. After all, he couldn’t be too immature around Lily anymore. Sirius’ eyes had narrowed to glare at his friend, clearly not amused. He turned to look at the ashes again, effectively just realizing there was nothing left there anymore but a few burning bits. “So what’s on your mind, mate? It’s not like you’re actually reading,” he pointed out as he pulled the book on his lap and turned it over. Apparently, he had been reading upside down. “And there doesn’t seem to be a girl to snog hiding somewhere,” he craned his neck to look around and under the coffee table where there was, in fact, no one. “And you can’t tell me the couch is better than the beds…” “Do you remember that Ravenclaw Robin or whatever his name was? The one we blamed that potions disaster on?” Sirius suddenly asked, straightening up in his seat to look at his friend. James thought for a minute, but a sudden grin broke into his features that told anyone he remembered that huge explosion in the potions dungeons. “Robbie, yeah I remember him. What about him?” “He likes Emily.” There was a mere silence, in which Prongs expected him to go on, but nothing more came. “So?” “She likes him.” “Again, so?” Sirius raised an eyebrow at him. “So, I’ve been trying to get that girl’s attention all week with no avail, this guy sweeps in and in a moment she’s flirting with him back? It sounds like I lost my touch to a Ravenclaw,” he pointed out. James almost laughed. “Do you mean that?” he asked, somewhat surprised. “Robbie always does that. Don’t you pay attention? He’s always wanted that sixth year… what’s her name? Paula? I think that’s it. She always rejects him, so he tries at a new girl so he can get over her and always comes crawling back to Paula. She must have him under some spell or something because he can never get away. No matter what girlfriend he finds, in a week he dumps her to try again with Paula. A bit sad, I think,” James murmured a bit absentmindedly. Sirius blinked. This guy was about to get Emily’s hopes up, maybe date her for a week or two, then dump her? And people called Sirius heartless. He, however, had a perfectly good reason to get a chance with Emily. If she was heartbroken over some other boy, he could give her a shoulder to cry on. He smirked. That sounded brilliant! James raised an eyebrow at him at the grin that had suddenly overcome Sirius’ features. Although, soon, he laughed. “I don’t know mate, last time Paula rejected him it was quite harsh. And he even began dating another girl before Emily… it didn’t last, but he didn’t go back to Paula,” he pointed out, able to quite clearly make out his friend’s thoughts. “It’s worth a try,” Sirius said with that same wicked grin as he closed the book on his lap and began to walk towards the staircase to the bedrooms. “Well, are you coming?” he asked over his shoulder at James, but before he got a reply, he had vanished up the steps. He’d surely have no problem sleeping tonight. “You—you are simply unbelievable!” Emily exclaimed in a surprising rage. “How could you! Don’t you know any better? Haven’t you been taught manners?” Sirius blinked, surprised. Out of everything he had thought would happen today, this was definitely not it. “I don’t want you near me anymore if you’re going to say such things about my boyfriend. I trust him, I know he’s honest and I know how horribly heartbroken he has been before. I don’t think it is very nice of you to try to badmouth him so you could try to break us up. So please, leave me alone unless you approach me to apologize,” she claimed as she gave him one last glare before she walked away from him and down the hallway hurriedly. Sirius was left stunned. He had just tried to warn her about Robbie’s past so she wouldn’t be so hurt, but it had absolutely backfired on him. She had accused him of spreading lies about him and trying to give him a bad name, and as Sirius tried to clarify he was just trying to help she had blown up all over again. Apparently, that was not help, that was just lies and rudeness, at least according to her. Little firecracker, wasn’t she? Sirius had to smirk at his own thought. Somewhat hurt that he had been yelled at in such a manner when his intentions were good… or somewhat good, but he didn’t let that damp his spirits. The only thing that seemed to have truly impacted him was the mention of one thing in her entire speech. Boyfriend? |

Chapter Six Lol Chris, just a tiny bit self absorbed XD Well, he'll prove himself otherwise today, because he cares about Emily :loved: Jor I thank you for the inspiration for this whole love triangle, and Cai for the slight development of this idea and another in a chapter to come  :shifty: Thanks Cai for the beta ^_^ Enjoy! I know I did  ~*~.:.~*~ Grey eyes surveyed the Great Hall, or just the Slytherin table. They were watching for a blonde; dead straight long hair and light blue eyes. Sirius might not enjoy talking to Slytherins, but he had been told that this Paula girl was one of them, and something needed to be done about the situation. He wasn’t surprised she was a Slytherin either, considering the way he had heard she rejected Robbie. He’d find a way to make her see. His eyes finally fell on a girl with a similar description of what Peter had told him, and thankfully; she was alone. Sighing softly, Sirius forced himself to walk up to the girl. He took a seat across from her, earning him a couple of glares from other surrounding Slytherins, including Paula herself. “Paula, right?” was the first thing he said, just to make sure. “What’s it to you?” she said coldly, putting away the book she was reading. “I wanted to talk to you about something…” “I don’t talk to Gryffindors.” “Well I want to talk to you about a Ravenclaw. Does that change things?” Her eyes narrowed. She seemed to examine him for a moment of hesitation, wondering. “Which Ravenclaw?” “Robbie… er—something…” “Robert Moraes? Yeah, I know him. What about him?” She had suddenly become quite interested, curious as to what Sirius was proposing even if he had barely said all that much. “I want to know why you won’t give him a chance,” Sirius replied casually. Maybe he could propose a way to Robbie to get him back on Paula. She, instead, furrowed her brow. She seemed almost insulted before something clicked in her mind and laughed. “Oh-Oh yeah, he’s umm-… He’s just very clingy,” she said dramatically. She was lying. And Sirius could tell. “What’s the real reason?” Sirius asked casually, although a little annoyed. “I said he’s clingy. Are you calling me a liar?” she spat, that cold look in her blue eyes coming back. Thank Merlin her eyes were a different shade than Emily’s. “I don’t think that’s reason enough. And you don’t look very confident in it either,” Sirius pointed out. Why weren’t answers easy to get from Slytherins? Must they all be mysterious and annoying? She seemed to consider him for a moment, examining him again in a new light. She leaned back in her seat, sipping her pumpkin juice as she debated over something. Finally, she leaned over the table again, her voice quieter. “And if I tell you, you’ll leave me alone?” “I guess so.” “And you won’t tell anyone?” “I guess not.” “Give me real answers,” she spat rudely. It was Sirius’ turn to glare at her. “Yes, I’ll leave you alone and no, I won’t tell anyone.” He corrected himself, annoyed even further. This better pay off, since he wasn’t very fond of being nice to someone so rude, specifically a Slytherin. “I’ve been dating him for years now. It’s all been an act,” she said as casually as if she had asked him to pass the peas. Sirius blinked, suddenly very puzzled. “What?” “Well he’s very flattering. A rather excellent kisser as well. He just didn’t want to tell his buddies that he was dating a Slytherin, but everyone knew he already liked me so we proposed to make a whole scene about a breakup. He’d find himself another girl to cover up but he’d secretly be with me. Of course it eventually turned into a game for him. He always had two girls on his arm. I didn’t mind, I found it funny how the other girls thought they were his only one. They were all jealous of me. Well either way, each time his current cover up found out about me, they’d break up, and he’d come back as if we had never been together. “I must admit, it’s very amusing how many people in the school believe that. We’ve been together for years now… it’s just so fun how many girls’ hearts he breaks. I don’t know how that silly hat could place him in Ravenclaw. He belongs in Slytherin with me,” she beamed proudly. She took another sip of her juice before she put the glass down and picked up her books. “Anyways, it was a disgust talking to you, but I must go to class,” she spat as she just left him there as she walked down the hall. Again, Sirius was left stunned. This was all a game. Emily was being used to hide another relationship. So not only was he using her, he was cheating on her. And she didn’t believe him! He should talk to her again… but she wouldn’t listen to him… especially not now that she was so angry with him. But he was cheating on her! How was he supposed to help her if she wouldn’t listen? |
Yay!! *loves it* I think this whole Paula and Robbie dating secretly thing is genius! I love it! Although... it'll break poor Emily's heart. <//3 It's okay... Sirius is still there, and he cares about you, too. Another great post, sweetie. Post more soon! <3 PAMS PAMS PAMS! |

Sirius had let time pass since he had last spoken to the Slytherin, and as promised, he had not told anyone. He might not like them, but he was still true to his word, like any Gryffindor should be. All he had to do when he saw them was clench his fists, seal his lips and walk away. Emily had requested he didn’t approach her, so he wouldn’t until he saw the right time. What else could he do? She would not listen to him even if he begged. Maybe one of her friends would find out the truth so she would not be hurt. For now, he had to move on and wait. His chance would come eventually, he was sure of it. The four friends climbed the last couple of steps to reach the first floor and began to head down the corridor to class. Somewhere along the way, James had spotted Lily, and promised to catch up with his friends later. Typical of him. Not that any of them could blame him; they would all do the same for a girl they loved as much as James loved Lily. They rounded a corner as they spoke of the latest Quidditch match, but just as they were about to go into class, Sirius’ grey eyes caught sight of someone running down a connecting hallway. It was a girl, since she was wearing a skirt, with her face hidden in her hands. But Sirius immediately recognized those bushy raven curls, and absolutely ignoring class, he set off in the direction of her shadow. “Sirius! What are you doing?! You’ll be late for class!” He heard it, but he didn’t quite care. At full force, he set off down the hall, exactly the way where Emily had been running from. He didn’t need to think it over; he knew why she was crying and what she was running from. She had caught them, for that was the only way her hard headed mind would understand that it was true; that it wasn’t a rumour. He admired her dedication to be so kind to Robbie, but Sirius was not kind to him at all. How dare he ever make her cry. In a hidden corner behind the Astronomy section sat a sobbing girl, curled up tightly with her face hidden. Only her curls were distinguishable, only her sobs were heard. She had shooed her friends away, and any other visitor that wanted to know if she was okay. She didn’t want to talk to anyone. Despite her requests and her friends staying almost like a guard around the place, a dark haired Gryffindor had made it past. His hands stuffed in his pockets, he sadly looked down on the girl without saying anything yet. “Go away,” she half choked out through muffled sobs, her face hidden, but she could tell someone was there. Sirius stayed silent for a moment or two before he bent down to her eye level. “You told me not to approach you unless it was to apologize, so… I’m sorry Emily,” he said quietly. She seemed to have sniffled, but silence fell once more. Finally, in a much smaller voice than the one she had used before, she spoke up again. “What are you sorry for? This wasn’t your fault, was it?” Sirius shook his head then stopped himself as he remembered she couldn’t see him. “It wasn’t my fault. But I knew he’d hurt you; I’m sorry that it happened. You don’t deserve to be used like that, or to be played with in any way. He was a git, and I’m sorry he had to be that way to you,” he murmured honestly. Another brief silence. Sirius watched her quietly as she seemed to have calmed down, maybe pondering if his words were honest or if he was just trying to play with her too. Finally, her eyes shyly looked up from her hidden confines. Her normally beautiful icy blue eyes were now puffy and red, her make up slightly runny as it seemed more tears were falling as she met his own grey eyes. They locked gazes for what could’ve been an eternity. She had the most beautiful eyes, whether they were irritated and teary or shining and sparkling with happiness. She seemed to have a beauty Sirius had never come across before. “Do you mean that?” she asked quietly, her voice small and sounding like that of a young child. Sirius gave her a slightly weak smile before he reached over so his thumb could brush away at least some of her tears. “I mean it.” In a moment that had been too fast for Sirius to make out, she had reached out and pulled him to her, now resting her head on his shoulder as she began to cry again. Her arms had linked around his neck and she hid herself from the world on his shoulder, a fresh wave of tears soaking up his school uniform as new sobs began to leave her. Sirius panicked. What had he done to make her cry like that?! His arms quickly wrapped around her trying to soothe her, afraid he had just made everything worse. “I-I’m sorry, I was just trying to help,” he stumbled. A mix of a choke and something else left her, and after some analyzing in the back of his mind, he realized she had laughed; or meant to do so. “No… it’s okay… I’m just—upset… He was with another girl, did you know that? Right there in the hallway, snogging the living daylights out of her… I thought he cared about me…” she murmured, her words sometimes sounding more like a whimper. “I’m really sorry, Emily. It wasn’t fair to you…” he replied softly, still holding her close to him so she wouldn’t yank him back like she had before. His hands were soothingly stroking her back, trying to make it better however he knew how. After a few moments, Emily pulled away from him, giving him a gentle smile. Sirius could tell that she was thankful for his kind words. “What happened to your hand?” she suddenly whispered, sniffling slightly. “What?” “Your hand; it’s bleeding.” Sirius blinked as he looked down on the hand that had been resting on his knee, and realized that his knuckles were, indeed, bleeding. “Wow I didn’t realize that. It’s nothing,” he murmured as he wiped it off on his uniform cloak. “What did you do?” she asked, a sudden tone of her own panic in her voice. Sirius considered her question for a moment, but her tone of threatening panic somewhat forced the last bit of him to tell her the truth. “Oh, he he, um—Well I did take a while to get here, right? I was just having a … friendly talk with Robbie,” he said as innocently as he could muster. Emily blinked at him, understanding perfectly; not many real words were exchanged then. There were two choices now. Either she’d praise his actions for trying to protect her, or she’d get angry with him all the further and never talk to him again. Her eyes locked with his again. She was looking right through him, and in a weird sense, Sirius felt as if she were trying to analyze what he really thought. It took a breathless moment but finally, Emily’s face broke into a weak smile. “Thank you,” she murmured quietly. Another chuckle left and she gently began to wipe away her tears. “I can’t believe you did that. You don’t even look hurt other than that,” she said quietly as she tried to fix herself up again. “Yeah er--… well I get detention whether I was hurt or not,” he mumbled with the only intention of making her laugh. Which he achieved, or at least he got a small giggle. She had fixed herself up again, wiping away her tears and hair to look somewhat presentable again. The two now lay in the hidden corner of the library, away from anyone else. He still thought she looked pretty, whether she was somewhat messy or not. She had perfectly blue icy eyes, which were still a bit red, to compliment her pitch black hair, making her look like an angel. She was an angel. There was a silence, but it wasn’t uncomfortable and it wasn’t awkward. It was just them, alone but together where surely no one would bother them. He couldn’t have asked for a more perfect chance. Gently, he leaned in closer to give her the kiss he had been aching for since he had laid eyes on her all those weeks ago. Here was his chance. This was just what he had been waiting for. But something went wrong, and she turned away. In fact, she grabbed her bag from the floor and got up herself, wiping the last bits of her tears. “I’m sorry Sirius, I just—I meant it when I said I wasn’t interested,” she said, slightly awkwardly as her eyes lowered to the floor. But before Sirius could even register the words, she was speaking again. “But I have to go. I want to clean myself up and get my homework so… I guess I’ll see you around.” Shyly, although somewhat hurriedly, Emily walked away from him, turning the corner on the aisle they were sitting at and leaving the library soon after. Sirius had never felt such a painful rejection. |
Very nicely done Niky! Poor Sirius, though... =( :glomp: It's okay, I'm still here! Personally, I think she's just afraid to like him... but she's already fallen for him. Yep, that's it. Anyway... lovely post, darling! <3 |

Chapter Eight Dedicated to no one in particular this time, although Jor shall forever take credit for the awesome ideas she gave me  Thanks Cai for the beta Enjoy! ~*~.:.~*~ This is what he had come to. In two weeks, all he had really achieved was getting out of detention. His friends had made their own mayhem to join him during those boring, after-class hours, but Sirius would’ve rather been by himself. He had noticed, however, that it was possible he was getting a few more icy glares from Paula’s friends, but they were Slytherins, so he didn’t mind much. Emily treated him the same, if it wasn’t for maybe a friendlier smile due to his encouraging words. She seemed to have moved on pretty quickly, though. She wasn’t dating anyone and he doubted she would be, but she looked lively and cheerful again, convinced she was worth much more than what Robbie had made her feel like. At least she was doing better. It had only been a few days ago that Sirius had decided enough was enough, that he had to move on and find a new girl to chase. He had never been hurt like this before; neither had he ever had such a hard time moving onto someone new. His fork now poked at the beans on his plate as his grey eyes looked down on them absentmindedly. He was early for lunch and his friends had yet to join him, so he had entertained himself by making random patterns. It was much unlike him to be depressed over something he had set his mind not to worry about, but he couldn’t help himself. Out of the blue, a hand patted his back with enough force not only to bring him back to reality, but to almost bury his face in the beans. “You were doing it again,” James pointed out, as he happily took the seat beside him and began to serve himself some turkey. “Doing what?” “You know, dozing off into the world of the depressed Sirius,” replied Peter, as he eyed the food set up before him and took a seat across from James. Remus had yet to join them. James raised an eyebrow, but with a jerk of his head it was clear the statement was close enough to what James had meant to say. “I was just waiting for you guys,” Sirius excused himself as he eyed Peter, who was stuffing his plate as high as it could get with mashed potatoes and beans. “Well, either way, we got news for you,” James smiled, as he too began to pile his plate with potatoes. He didn’t pay attention to the raised eyebrow Sirius sent his way. “News?” “Yeah. You know, mate, we don’t like this depressed side of you. You’ve been too worried about this Emily girl, and you don’t even have a date to the next Hogsmeade trip—” “I don’t think I’m going to go,” interrupted Sirius. “Of course you are. We got you a date,” replied James, as casually as if he had commented that the potatoes needed gravy. Sirius watched his friend wide-eyed, beyond surprised. Now that he thought about it, he should’ve expected it. He knew as well as his friends that he was not like himself lately. He was always thinking of the same thing, no matter what he did, and it had taken quite a toll on him. Maybe he did need a date, just to think of a new girl and get over his ridiculously continuous thoughts on Emily. Maybe, just maybe, this date wasn’t such a bad idea. Peter was too busy with his lunch to care much about what was going on, but James patiently waited until Sirius came around before he spoke again. “Date with who?” he asked almost shyly, as if he should be afraid of asking such a question. Actually, he was more afraid of the answer he’d get. He was supposed to trust his best friends, but this subject was probably more personal. “Tfefnai!” came a muffled cry from Peter’s stuffed mouth. He was apparently very proud of what he had just said, although no one had understood him, and he had spit all over the table. “Er—… he meant to say Tiffany…” clarified James, looking over at Peter, the slightest bit disgusted. “Tiffany Macedo? The Gryffindor?” Sirius asked, quite surprised. He remembered that girl. One of the most popular girls in school; she knew everyone. She was quite snobby however; quite perky, too. Sirius could almost find her annoying every once in a while, but he had never dated her. “Yeah, that one. She seemed happy enough to finally get a date with you so it was pretty easy. Just meet her Saturday morning at ten by the courtyard and you guys can go to Hogsmeade and do whatever you wish.” “What if I don’t want to go?” James hesitated slightly, using the excuse that he was chewing to prolong the moment while he thought it out. Eventually, he turned to look at Sirius face to face. “Look, Emily’s rejected you enough times. You’ve been moping around all week and frankly I don’t think that’s the right way to deal with this whole thing. You’re more than capable of getting yourself more than just that one girl. She’s not interested even if you showed her the nicest side of you. Give it up, have some fun with Tiffany and just… forget about it. If she’s really all that worth it maybe you could even make her jealous. Just do something else than mourn over her,” he declared simply, but firmly. Sirius blinked, somewhat surprised by his friend’s words. He had definitely not been expecting that. He looked over at Peter, who nodded his head approvingly. He sighed, pondering over it for the last few moments he had to himself before he finally nodded. “Fine. I’ll try to get over Emily with this girl…” James smirked, proud and looking quite smug all of a sudden. “Great,” he replied as he proudly finished his lunch. |
Very cute post, Hunnie! I love how James and Peter are trying to get Sirius with another girl. Merlin only knows what’s going to happen with this. I’m thinking that Emily sees Sirius snogging with another girl or something, and she gets sort of jealous, because she liked the fact that he liked her. Well, I don’t know… it’d make sense. LOL! Anyway… PAMS PAMS PAMS PAMS PAMS PAMS PAMS!!!!! <3 |
*giggles* James and Peter setting up Sirius Black with a girl? The Sirius Black? Quite amusing idea, that is :P Excellent post though. I can't wait to see what happens during this trip :shifty: |

Chapter Nine The strawberry tarts belong to Rhea  So does Sirius Thanks Sabrina for the beta! Enjoy dearies  ~*~.:.~*~ Ten fifty one in the morning. Sirius ran his hand through his already incredibly messy hair one last time before he sighed and began a walk down from the common room to the courtyard. It was no use in trying to wait this out any longer. He wore a dark grey button up shirt, almost black to compliment the color of his eyes under his robe, although he had not purposely picked it so. He could almost blend in with the sky outside. It was a threatening grey, although no drops of rain had fallen yet. Sirius had a bad feeling about it all, choosing to take the bad weather as a sign against him. As the hallways came to their end and the doors to the grounds were opened to the students leaving for Hogsmeade, a pretty bright pink dress came into view. Tiffany really was too bubbly for his taste, but what else was he going to do today? Study? “Sirius!” she exclaimed cheerfully, her face lighting up immediately as she skipped his way to hook her arm on his. She had the smallest sense of grace, able to taste her expensive perfume in the air and the bubbly cheerfulness that allowed her to be so annoying charismatic. Some were only with her because they all knew of her family’s riches, others because she was incredibly deceiving. She could lure you into a trap and have you there for as long as she wanted without you even realizing what was going on. Sirius had once pondered over her, earlier in his years, probably when he was around fifteen. He was sure she’d be a good snog. Right now, he just thought her a little bit too shallow for him. He was seventeen now, he didn’t want just a good kisser. Although that did help. “Are you ready?” she beamed before her gaze turned to a couple of girls who giggled as they passed them, Tiffany replying with a girly wave and a giggle of her own. “I guess…” Sirius mumbled under his breath, reluctant to this whole thing. The sky was getting darker by the minute, threatening with lighting as much as rain. The streets were dark but not discouraging to young Hogwarts students, however it looked like if it ever began to rain, it would be one incredible storm. Sirius had almost begun to pray for rain. It would be his only excuse to flee. He was not in the mood to be happy and cheerful as she was, he was not in the mood to go into Honeydukes and buy something of absolutely everything –although they did anyway- and he was not in the mood to have her following him around babbling about who knows what. Didn’t James know better by now? He was probably daydreaming of Lily when he thought of such an odd couple. He had been stuck at Madam Puddifoot’s many times as gentlemanly manners required him to be polite to his date, but he had never truly liked this place very much for other than their strawberry tarts. They had amazing strawberry tarts. Tiffany sat across from him babbling about how she had received the bracelet she was wearing, which was apparently a gift from a son of a famous Quidditch player. Sirius might’ve shown some more interest if perhaps it hadn’t been Tiffany who he had been speaking to. He did not mean to be rude, he did not mean to put her down or ignore or any of those things, but Tiffany was just not the girl he wanted to be with. If Emily was sitting across from him telling the exact same story Sirius would be mesmerized, hypnotized to hear every word she pronounced with perfect precision so he’d remember them always. Her curls would bounce every time she’d glance out the window, her icy blue eyes would sparkle when the light hit them. She didn’t even need light. She needed a smile, a cheerful laugh and she’d have Sirius at her feet. He couldn't stop thinking about her. There was just something about her that made it difficult to stop his racing thoughts. So, he politely stayed quiet as Tiffany went on, Sirius nodded along as his mind drifted elsewhere, probably wondering where Emily was right now, what she was doing. Her rejection had ironically made him want her all the more, like that one last cookie in the cookie jar he could just not reach. It was frustrating, but a challenge nonetheless. “Sirius?” “Yeah,” he almost jumped, coming back from his drifting thoughts again. “Were you listening to me?” “Of course I was. Something about a bracelet—” “A necklace,” she corrected. “A necklace…” Sirius corrected himself. Tiffany eyed him from behind her blond short hair, eyeing him as if analyzing his body language. “Will you kiss me?” “What?” Sirius immediately asked. If he had been drinking something, he not only would’ve choked, but spit it all out and probably all over her. Had he just heard right? “Will you kiss me?” she repeated, this time emphasizing the words. “I mean we are on a date. And you’re known for these kinds of things. It’s been years since I’ve awaited the great Sirius Black to ask me on a date! It was a bit disappointing that you sent your friend to do it but that’s okay. I mean bravery is something us Gryffindors simply must have, but shyness is also acceptable. We can’t always be perfect. Our house should never restrict who we are, I mean I could belong in Ravenclaw! After all I am so incredibly witty and smart, aren’t I? I did so well on my Charms assignment last week, you should’ve seen me! I even beat that Evans girl! Would you believe that? And she’s the favorite too, teacher’s pet I think—” ‘Shut up’ Sirius thought as he leaned over and made her lips too busy to say another word. She was definitely not the girl he wanted to be on a date with. She felt uncomfortable, and instead of feeling at ease and so much happier, he felt guilty and burdened. Enough. This was not the girl he wanted to spend the day with. This was not the girl he was thinking about. This was as unfair to him as it was to Emily and Tiffany. He pulled away, leaving Tiffany blinking in surprise even if she had asked for the kiss herself. Well, she was quiet now. He began to think of what to say to leave, something, anything, but as he looked outside the window in the hope maybe one of his friends would come by to rescue him, he came before a paled face across from the window. Right off the corner of the street, in plain view of himself and Tiffany stood a girl with pitch black raven hair. She had forgotten what she was even doing there as she froze, and tears threatened at the eyes people so often complimented. She was special, huh? She didn’t deserve to have someone play with her, did she? What a hypocrite. All Sirius had said to her had been lies. |

Well it's Emily's own fault for rejecting him. XD She said she didn't want a relationship with him, so what did she expect him to do, sit around and twiddle his thumbs all day? *Snicker* |
Chapter Ten To the people I've sent it early for reviews, they LOVED it apparently, so i hope you all share the same views! Enjoy loveys, I loved writting this chappie  Dedicated to the new Fran&Nikolai (aka Lindz&Kingston) and the new Leoula (aka Christian&Mallory) Thanks Sabsy for editting<3 ~*~.:.~*~ She stormed off in the same way she had come from, turning away from what she had seen. She had no idea why she was crying or what had gotten into her. That little git! Kissing another girl while...! They had never truly dated… It didn’t matter! He said she was special! He said such beautiful things to her yet there he sat drinking away at a cup of tea and laughing at her. Maybe he had even told that Gryffindor and they were laughing at her together. She wiped her burning tears of rage away with the sleeve of her coat. “Emily! Emily, please, wait!” Sirius called behind her. He had not even thought of the consequences of leaving Tiffany in the middle of the café with so many gossiping people would find out, he wasn’t even the least bit worried. He had immediately grabbed his robe and left the shop without another single word to Tiffany, for as soon as his eyes saw Emily’s through the window his heart dropped. How could he? “Emily, please! I beg of you! Just listen to me!” he called behind her, catching up quickly. He might not play on the Quidditch team, but he was still athletic enough to keep in good shape for his ladies. It came in rather handy at more times than not. “What?!” she suddenly snapped, turning around with furious eyes to glare at him. Her hands were fists by her side, patience ticking away quickly and rage more than evident in her face. As if on perfect cue, lightening struck behind her once she had finished speaking, followed by loud thunder almost seconds later. The storm was really close now. Sirius had to stop quickly not to bump into her since he had almost reached her, also by the fact that her eyes were turned a colder than usual blue in a harsh glare directed at him. “Look, honestly, me and Tiffany weren’t—” “Being honest with me?” she interrupted. Her gaze never even quivered from his, furious at what her eyes had seen and the lies she had been tricked into believing. “No! I was honest-” “When? Was it when you said I didn’t deserve what Robbie did to me even if you just did the exact same thing? Were you being honest when you said I was the prettiest girl you had laid eyes upon? How about when you said you’d never ever hurt me if I gave you a chance?” “But you never gave me that chance!” Sirius cut in immediately. Thunder rang out again, and this time, it finally began to rain. Perfect timing. Just when Sirius couldn’t go away from where he was, or even ask for shelter, and had no reason to move away from the person he was with. “What would’ve you done with that chance, huh? That?! I don’t want that! I don’t want a lying, treacherous, deceptive, cheating, deceiving, hypocritical fake by my side!” “I’m not any of that! If you’d just give me a chance to explain!” Sirius attempted to cut in again. Rain droplets had turned into pouring water quite quickly, the sky dark except for the lightening that sometimes struck. Neither had moved even if they were getting quickly soaked and students ran past them in search for shelter. “You don’t need to explain,” she hissed, her eyes shining with hate and rage towards him. Still, not once had she looked away. Her hair was sticking to her wet forehead and cheeks, her clothes as soaked as Sirius’ by now as rain continued to pour on the couple. “Why won’t you listen to me? You never gave me a chance! You never allowed me to introduce myself, to prove myself to you, to become everything you want! You never even gave me more than a smile! Nothing! How was I supposed to know what was going through your wicked mind? I don’t know Emily! I can’t read minds! You can’t read mine either! Don’t judge a book by it’s cover, have you ever heard that? Don’t judge me without even speaking to me first!” he snapped, breathing heavily. It was almost as if her rage was contagious. “For someone that plays girls until they’re useless and boring you’re pretty good with words! I would never let you do that to me! I am not someone to be used and trashed by the great Sirius Black! You’re a fake! You play girls as you wish for your own sick happiness!” “Who told you these things?!” Sirius yelled out, furious. How could anyone spread such lies! How could anyone else believe them? “You’re being so prejudiced! Would it kill you to sit down and talk for a change?!” She laughed. “You’ve already killed me before you even got that privilege! Actions speak louder than words!” “Incredible!” Sirius suddenly exclaimed over the pouring rain. His hands went to the back of his head, closing his eyes to calm himself before he’d say something he’d truly regret. He breathed heavily before he reopened his eyes and met her gaze without that same trace of anger he held previously. “What is it about me? Why can’t you just even consider me for a moment? What’s so terrible? What have I done to you to deserve this? I don’t even understand why you’re so angry at me; we’re not dating, we never were, I’m allowed to kiss whoever I wish,” he stated as calmly as he could possibly bring himself to do it. She blinked, suddenly realizing that they were yelling at each other under the rain like little children. Her arms wrapped around her as a source of comfort and warmth, her eyes staring down at the floor. “Yes, you are allowed to kiss whoever you want,” she spoke quietly, her demeanor changing dramatically. Her voice was barely audible over the rain at all now. “You didn’t answer the rest of my questions.” Silence. “I’m afraid, okay?” she suddenly spat, as if glaring at him because it was all his fault and he had forced her to admit it. “Afraid of what?” “Of you!” she claimed, as if it were the most obvious thing in the world. “I know what you’ve done all of these years, you’ve dated all of my friends at least once! You made a game out of dating several girls at the same time. You made a game out of us and you’d make a joke out of me! I’m worth more than that, even you admitted it. Even if you never meant it.” “I meant it,” spoke up Sirius almost as soon as those words had left her lips. “Emily I was fourteen, fifteen years old when I did those stupid things. I am seventeen now, I’m about to leave school and begin to work and form my future. I’m smarter than that now, I learn from my mistakes. I’m not going to hurt you. There’s something about you that keeps me from it. And no, it’s not some corny line I’ve told many girls to forgive me, I mean that too. I don’t know what it is about you, but I want to find out.” The rain was falling so hard now it was like a curtain of water all around them. The sky was dark and thunder shook every building and lighting lit up the skies for those few seconds. The storm was getting worse before getting any better, and the only people left on the street were them. “Please, just let me prove it to you…” he murmured quietly, only loud enough for her to hear him. It didn’t have to be loud at all. He had moved closer to her now, they were almost millimeters away. His hand had come to frame her jaw line, forcing her chin up so she would face him properly. He had been denied hundreds of times by her, even in a similar situation when what he was about to do had been rejected too. But what was life without a little risk? In the middle of the street covered in a curtain of pouring rain, the storm echoing in their ears and soaking their clothes wet, two pairs of lips met, and neither pulled away this time. |

Chapter Eleven Short, but the point  Dedicated to Lizzie's Kiki, 'cause he has an awesome jacket XD Thanks Si for the beta! <333 ~*~.:.~*~ A sniffle and a groan. Uncomfortable, the thing under the bed covers turned around even when the only thing that was above the bed covers was a bushy mount of black hair. It was like a small monster, hidden under the blue sheets with only a mass of hair popping out on the top. It sneezed under the covers, and another sniffle was heard. Who said a kiss under the rain was a good idea? Ridiculously stupid idea, that was surely it. But, in the back of the mind, one simply had to admit, it had been incredibly romantic. It sneezed again. A clumsy hand reached out from underneath the cover and felt around the night table next to the bed for the box of tissues. Found it, pulled on a tissue, blew their nose, sniffled, and tossed it into the pile of used tissues in the waste bin beside the bed. There was nothing to hate more than colds. Everyone knew, however, it had been absolutely worth it. Despite friends discouraging them, despite unlikely instances and the most unlikely of kisses from another girl, they had somehow pulled through. Their kiss had lasted long enough to catch a cold, so it had been quite a while. They had each smiled, forgetting why they had each ignored each other in such a way. They hadn’t meant to hurt each other. They had meant for things to end and start like this, with a kiss, close and comforted. They had talked it over, they had told the truth, and by the end of the night they were finally, officially dating. Neither of them wanted to put it off any longer. They seemed to belong together. Sneeze. The mass under the covers moaned in discomfort, reaching for another tissue. There was class going on right now and there it was, under the covers, sneezing the life out it’s soul. Sneeze. Frustrated, the covers were pulled back and another sniffle was heard. The so called monster with bright and irritated red eyes and a stuffy nose, managed to smile as sit noticed it had a visitor. “Feeling better?” asked Sirius as he surprised her with a small bouquet of flowers behind him. So Transfiguration did come in handy every once in a while. Emily, sick out of her mind in one of the Hospital Wing’s bed, smiled happily at her present, in both ways. “Yeah, I thu kinda feel bether now,” she managed to say as she examined the flowers affectionately. She could not smell their scent, but the gesture was good enough for her. “Arend you suppozed to be in claz?” she added just before she sneezed. Sirius laughed. Her voice sounded weird, and her stuffy nose surely took the blame for that. He took the flowers from her to replace them with the box of tissues and gathered the tissues that had missed the waste basket around her bed before setting the flowers on her night table. “Not right now. Besides, what kind of gentleman would I be if I got my girl sick and didn’t come to visit her?” “Nod a bery good one,” she replied before she blew her nose again. “Exactly,” he smirked as he began to take off his jacket and wrap it around her shoulders. She might’ve been stuffed with various covers but a little more warmth couldn’t hurt. He sat on the edge of her bed, wrapping an arm around her waist to pull her in. She leaned her head on his shoulder, the box of tissues still on her lap as she closed her eyes. This had been the most comfortable position she had been in all day. “How come you thin’th get sick?” she whispered as she nuzzled herself closer under the jacket. “I don’t know. Maybe so you could have all day to think of me,” he joked. “You’re sho full of youthself,” she giggled lazily. “You just figured that out?” She smiled, turning her head slightly up to meet his gaze. Grey eyes with light green ones, staring deep into each other and finding nothing more but comfort and reassurance. “So if you geth sick, then you can think all day oth me?” she whispered with a soft smile. “I already think all day of you.” A blush crept across Emily’s cheeks. “Then I guesh you won’th mind if we kiss,” she added slyly, leaning in to just that. For a couple of kids who had been fighting each other for almost a month, they really seemed to fit each other. She realized there was nothing to fight, that he truly meant it when he claimed he had changed. He did not chase any other women, he visited her every day every chance he got. He was honest to her, he knew what she wanted and helped her achieve it. The week itself wasn’t over, but Sirius was sure he had found Emily like James had found Lily. Happy Halloween Everyone! |
