I'm posting right now, my dear readers!  Hermione was reacting too harshly, in Ron’s opinion. All he wanted was to prove his little sister wrong. And he had.
Now that the deed had been done, and though he loved snogging, something felt resentful in his gut. Maybe it was the way Hermione would look at him in spite when he entered the room with Lavender in tow.
Whatever it was, he knew that he still held romantic feelings towards Hermione, no matter how unpleasant she was acting. He usually pushed this thought aside, as it only gave him grief.

It was horrendous, how Ron was treating her. Hermione had never felt so hurt in her life. Everything that they’d been through…the kiss…it didn’t seem to matter to him.
She sobbed in the bathroom, not caring if anyone heard. There was the creak of a door and then footsteps. They weren’t hurried or purposeful, but she recognized the gait from the sounds of the shoes.
“Hermione?” Harry called softly. Being in a girl’s bathroom didn’t make him feel comfortable whatsoever. But, then again, he had been here back in second year.
“Not now, Harry,” Hermione whimpered in a choked voice. She couldn’t stem the flow of tears streaming down her face in the end bathroom stall. “Please go away.”
The footsteps stopped right in front of her stall. “You don’t really want me to go, do you?”
Hermione said nothing, but continued to cry quietly. She felt so silly—like a foolish schoolgirl who had her heart easily broken. This was total folly, she thought to herself.
After a continued fifteen minutes of sobbing, she noticed Harry’s feet still hadn’t retreated. Her tears had subsided.
“Come out, Hermione,” Harry said gently, hoping that she would yield.
With a shaky hand, Hermione opened the door and stepped out. She was truly a mess, but Harry looked upon her with eyes of compassion. He pulled her into his arms once again. To his relief, she stopped soon after. Amazing what a hug could do. He decided to do it more often.
“Thanks, Harry,” Hermione whispered, clinging to his robes. She reached up and kissed him lightly on the cheek.
It was just the trigger for Harry. She’d kissed him. Yes, perhaps in a purely friendly way, but this was such a good chance…Ron didn’t want her anyways…
Turning her teary head toward his, Harry’s lips grazed Hermione’s. She was too weary to reject. Caught up in the spur of the moment, her fingertips touched the side of his neck and she kissed him.
What’s with girls kissing me when they cry? Harry thought to himself.
