Story: Draco has had a crush on Hermione since 2nd year and has kept it to himself for his remaining years at Hogwarts. At a back-to-school (from Christmas Break) dance, he finally finds a way to get to Hermione when she’s alone.
I told myself I’d do a fan fiction to this song like, a year ago
I finally got to it cause I’m super bored! (that and I LOVE this song... when I’m in the mood of course. Been awhile since I’ve heard it so once I wear myself out with it I’ll hate it again, then I’ll like it... me and my cycles
).
I’m trying something a BIT different. It’s similar to what I did for Kiss The Girl, but I used entire verses, sometimes two, together. It’s just a bit longer version song-useage-wise compared to Kiss The Girl.
It’s a happy F.F despite the song. I manipulated the song to make it so! =)

***************
Draco sat at an open table as he scanned the crowds of students that continually milled in from the main entrance. They all had dates, all looking happy to be with their dates, while he, on the other hand, was stuck with the cow herself...
“Draco!” came a shriek.
Draco looked at Pansy for a moment, inwardly cringing, and looked back into the crowds. His eyes fell upon a beautiful girl with a rich maroon, silk halter dress that fell a few inches below her knees. Her curly brown hair was pinned back off to one side, held by an opalescent beaded clip. A few stray bangs framed her flawless, bright face.
“Were you waiting for me?”
Draco snapped out of his trance and looked into the pug face of Pansy Parkinson. He forced a small smile and nodded. Pansy beamed and pulled Draco up from the stone bench that encircled the circular tables.
Throughout the songs, Draco’s eyes drifted to Hermione, who was on the far end of the Great Hall. The fast-paced songs came to a close and a slow song came up. Pansy tried to get closer to Draco, but he had had enough and just walked away.
“GET BACK HERE!” she screamed after Draco.
He didn’t even bother to look back, knowing that she had forced Blaise into a dance to attempt to make him ‘jealous’. The mere thought made Draco roll his eyes. He headed for the large double doors and left. The hall was empty, all except for one person.
“Granger?”
Hermione didn’t even bother to face him when she responded, “I’m not in the mood for your crap, Malfoy.”
“Are you ok?”
Hermione spun around to look him in the eyes. He could tell she was on verge of tears, but hadn’t broken.
“Why would you care?”
The song changed in the Great Hall. Draco recognized it from the muggle radio when he had been forced to go through muggle London.
I wont talk
I wont breathe
I wont move till you finally see
That you belong with me
“And for that matter, why aren’t you with your ‘precious Pansy’?” she spat.
“Because it’s not her I want to be with.”
You might think I don’t look
But deep inside
In the corner of my mind
I'm attached to you
Hermione was taken aback, and then she sniffled once. “Then why’re you with the cow?”
“It’s not like I had a choice,” Draco responded pointedly.
“Who would you rather be with?”
I'm weak
Its true
Cuz I'm afraid to know the answer
Do you want me too?
Cuz my heart keeps falling faster
Draco was silent. He couldn’t just say he’s been wanting to be with Hermione for five years without her freaking out. His stomach plummeted at the thought.
“Fine, just be like Ron and don’t respond!” Hermione spun around and started to storm off, her two and a half inch heels clicking on the stone floor with every step.
“It’s you.”
I’ve waited all my life
To cross this line
To the only thing that’s true
So I will not hide
It’s time to try
Anything to be with you
All my life I’ve waited
This is true
You don’t know what you do
Every time you walk into the room
I'm afraid to move
I'm weak
Its true
I'm just scared to know the ending
Do you see me too?
Do you even know you met me?
Hermione stopped dead in her tracks. She turned around slowly, a tear sliding down her cheek.
“What?” she breathed, looking for an answer in Draco’s soft, grey eyes.
“I think I love you, Granger,” Draco said with a faint, warm smile as Hermione started walking back to him after a moment of thought.
She stopped in front of him and looked up, her head cocked curiously. She was silent for a few moments, listening to the soft tune of the guitar from the song. Finally, she pulled Draco’s head down and kissed him slowly, allowing Draco to deepen it as he pulled her closer. She pulled away suddenly, leaning her forehead against his.
“I think I love you too, Malfoy,” she said quietly, a soft smile lighting her face.
As her hips swayed to the slow tune, Draco’s hands slid further down her body until they stayed on Hermione’s swaying hips. They danced the last few minutes of the song close together.
I've waited all my life to cross this line
To the only thing that’s true
So I will not hide
Its time to try anything to be with you
All my life I've waited
This is true
I know when I go
I’ll be on my way to you
The way that’s true
I've waited all my life to cross this line
To the only thing that’s true
So I will not hide
Its time to try anything to be with you
All my life I've waited
This is true
