Are you actually eating that? Anyway, without further delay, here is the post. Be warned, it is very, very, very sad.

Chapter 23: Zachary Potter

An hour had passed and there was no news. Remus and Tonks were playing with the children. Remus thought Tonks was cute (in a little girl way) and very sweet; she amused the three of them by changing the color of her hair, and changing her nose.

Meanwhile, Vi was also watching the children, Camey was twittiling her thumbs, and James was pacing around the room. Sirius just sat, watching them; the silence was unbearable.

“Stop it!” he cried suddenly. “All of you stop it!”

Remus looked at him worriedly. “Padfoot, what’s wrong?”

“Honey what’s the matter?” Violet asked, concerned.

“All of you are so annoying! Listen, I know we are worried, but Lily is going to be fine; So James stop pacing, and Camey stop twittiling your thumbs, because it’s driving me crazy!” Sirius exclaimed.

Andi ventured into the waiting room about half an hour later.

Tonks hugged her mother. “Is everything ok?”

After seeing the look on Andi’s face, everyone practically shouted, “What’s happened?”

“There is no need to worry; nothing is wrong. Lily is awake and we are going to start the procedure; I’m not exactly sure how long it will take, but it should be around an hour,” Andi explained.

Sirius and Violet hugged, while Camey and Remus both sported smiles of pure relief.

James however, was still worried. “How’s Lily?” he asked.

“She’s fine, James,” Andi answered. “Lily said that she loves you and not to worry; and that everything will be ok.”

James sighed and fell back into a chair.

“Do you guys mind watching Tonks for a while longer?” Andi asked.

“Not at all,” Remus said, “She’s highly amusing.”

“Tonks have you been changing you nose again?” Andi asked.

“Yes, mom,” Tonks replied.

“That’s my girl!” Andi chuckled.

About an hour later Andi came out looking glum. “Tonks, honey, why don’t you take Harry and Hallie to the cafeteria. I’ll meet you there in 20 minutes.”

“Ok Mum,” Tonks agreed and walked the toddlers down the hall.

“James, I’m so sorry,” Andi said gravely.

“We lost the baby?” James asked.

“Not the baby; a baby,” Andi replied.

“Huh?” replied all five of them.

“Lily was carrying twins,” Andi explained. “A boy and a girl; Hannah and Zachary”

“Which one........ d.........di.......” James couldn't say it.

“I’m sorry, James," Andi said, "We lost Zach.”

They all broke into tears. Camey and Vi, who had been sitting beside one another, grabbed each others hands, and sobbed nosily. Remus fell into his seat two tears trickled down his face.

James didn’t look like he could stand. Sirius ran over and pulled his best mate into a hug, while he cried.

Once James had calmed down, he went to see his wife.

A healer quickly pulled James aside. “Your wife is have stress induced hallucinations due to the combine shock of the fall and loss of the baby,” The healer explained. “She believes your son is alive, and is neglecting your daughter. It is imperative that you get her to put Zachary down; that should bring her out of the hallucination. You need to act quickly because the longer she stays like that, the worse she’ll get.”

James nodded and sat on the bed, and looked into the face of his second son.

Lily was holding Zachary; and there were no tears in her eyes, none at all. She looked at James; something in her eyes wasn’t normal.

“He’s so warm,” Lily said, “I think he has a fever. James, could you call my mother? I’m not sure if I should bring him to the Doctor’s or not. ”

“Lily you have to put Zach down, and go see your daughter, Hannah. Do you remember Hannah?” James asked.

Lily cried, “No, my baby needs me! Can’t you hear him crying?”

This was killing James. “Lily,” he said gently, “Zach can’t cry.”

“What ever are you talking about James?”

“Honey, Zach died, before he was even born,” James said softly, “and your mother died last year.”

“What!?! No! Mom! Zach; he can’t be!” Lily exclaimed.

“Lily, look into his eyes; is there any life there?” James asked.

Lily began to wail. “My baby!”

James pulled her into a hug.

“James! He’s so warm!”

“I know, but Lily, you have to let go.”

Slowly she got up and went to the empty baby chamber. After gently kissing his forehead, she lifted the lid and placed Zachary inside.

Turning to James, she asked, "Do you want to know why I named him Zachary?"

James nodded.

"Zachary means 'he who god protects'," Lily said quietly.

"Lily, he's in heaven; I'm sure god just wanted to keep such a good little baby right with him," James said. But in reality, James didn't know what to believe anymore.

Lily walked back to the bed and collapsed.

“Oh James,” she wailed.

Slowly James stroked her hair. “It’s all going to be ok,” he cooed.

Once her sobs had subsided James suggested, “Let’s go see our daughter.”

OMG!!! I think I'm going to cry. There are tears in my eyes... That was so sad!! *cries* It was simply beautiful!!! P...A....M....S..... *cries*

I made you cry!?! I'm so sorry! I know, it was sad, wasn't it? I promise things are going to be happier from now on....... well at least until 'the night'.

This story is seriously beginnig to make me cry! I just wish that the bad stuff would just stop!

Er... I'm on my moms labtop. My brother was coming upstairs so... had to disappear for a second. ... Thinking.... hurts.... makes you not fall asleep. Me watch pretty hail storm though.... not sleeping pays off. at 6:06am it started hailing then at 6:08am it started downpouring hail. It was cool to watch. It stopped raining at... 6:20ish am *runs downstairs*

Nate, I'm not gonna let you read every chapter before I post it! That's not fair. Oh BTW, Nate and I are going away for a week on Saturday....... so I'll post today, but then you won't get anymore for a week.

Chapter 24: Oh Happy Days! ( I know...... the title is a little weird, but I couldn't think of anything else)


Things were very subdued at the Potter Mansion. They had buried Zachary a week previously, in the Potter Family Cemetery, right outside of Godric’s Hallow. James and Lily were still in mourning over their baby boy.

It broke Vi and Camey’s hearts to see their friends in so much pain. So, they hatched up a plan. At 8 in the morning they stormed into James and Lily’s room, with breakfast in hand.

“Wazzgoinon?” James asked sleepily.

“We have made you breakfast. You are going to eat it, get dressed, and then we are taking Lily out for a day of fun/shopping. James, you are going to stay here and clean with the guys,” Camey stated.

“Hey why don’t I get a day of fun?” James asked, rumpling his hair.

“Do you want to go shopping with us James?” Vi asked.

“And watch us try on millions of out-fits?” Camey added.

“No way in hell!” James replied.

“Good! Then you can stay here,” Camey said.

Lily began to object but James spoke up. “No, Lily it’s fine. I was just kidding; you deserve a day out with the girls.”

Again, she began to object.

“Lily Anne Potter!” Camey exclaimed, “You are coming out with us, whether you like it or not!”

Lily realized that it would be pointless to argue; so after eating breakfast, she changed her clothes, and met the girls downstairs.

While wiping off the counter, Sirius turned to Remus. “Why are we cleaning?”

“Because it would be nice of you to help out, for once,” Remus answered.

“But cleaning isn’t fun!” Sirius whined.

“Honestly Padfoot! When are you going to start acting your age?” James asked.

“What! Did you honestly just say that! We are only 19! And I would expect Moony to say something like that! Not you! What’s happened to you, Prongs?” Sirius asked.

“I dunno; I grew-up, I guess,” James said quietly.

“What’s so great about being grown-up, anyway?” Sirius asked, indignantly.

“Padfoot, you are just like Peter Pan!” Remus exclaimed.

“Peter who? Do I know him? ”

“Never mind,” Remus answered, “It would take to long to explain.”

“Lu-Lu!” Hallie and Harry cried.

Remus came running over, “What is it?”

“Radio!” Hallie demanded, while Harry softly asked, “Radio, please.”

Sirius raced down the stairs. “I heard them yelling. What’s the matter?”

Remus chuckled. “They just want to listen to the radio,” Remus replied.

“Do you know how to work it?” James asked, taking the radio into the kitchen. “Lily’s always the one to use it.”

“Of course I do! My mother is a muggle, remember?” Remus asked.

“Oh yeah!” Sirius said, remembering the one week he had spent at Remus’s house.

After fiddling with it for a moment, the music started to play. The toddlers happily bounced along to the music, while Sirius, Remus, and James went back to the chores. Remus washing the dishes, James drying, and Sirius mopping the floor.

Then, My Girl by The Temptations began to play; and even though it was a muggle song, they all magically knew the words.

Not many people knew that the marauders (except Peter) could sing very well.

James softly began the first verse:

I've got sunshine on a cloudy day.
When it's cold outside I've got the month of May.
I guess you'd say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl (my girl, my girl)
Talkin' 'bout my girl (my girl).

Being funny, Sirius picked up his mop and sang the second verse into the handle:

I've got a sweeter song than the birds in the trees.

My girl (my girl, my girl)
Talkin' 'bout my girl (my girl).

A lyrical pause came, and Sirius and James went to their children.

“May I have this dance m’ladies?” James asked Hallie and Hannah. Hallie giggled at her godfather's silliness. Hannah simply looked at her father like he was crazy.

Harry clapped his hands, and called for Sirius. "Paddy! I want dance!" Harry said.

"Okay, Harry," Sirius replied, chuckling. "We can dance."

Sirius and James twirled and whirled the children around to the music.

Remus, who was the most talented singer, out of the three, sang the next verse.

I don't need no money, fortune, or fame.
I've got all the riches baby one man can claim.
I guess you'd say
What can make me feel this way?
My girl (my girl, my girl)
Talkin' 'bout my girl (my girl).

The three marauders sang the last verse in unison; Harry and Hallie giggled and hummed along. Hannah just watched, thinking, "What in the world are these crazy people doing?"

Suddenly applause broke out! Vi, Camey, and Lily stood there clapping, and Camey was holding her camera. The girls had been watching, and taking pictures of the whole thing!

“Since when have you guys been able to sing?” Camey asked, teasingly.

Remus just laughed, and pulled his fiancé into a tight hug.

“Sirius, I thought Remmy was the musical one,” Vi said with a smirk.

Sirius scowled, and then a look of vengeance crossed his face. “Why don’t you sing for us Vi?”

To shut him up, Vi pulled him into a lengthy kiss.

“I thought it was wonderful!” Lily exclaimed, taking Hannah from James. “You should sing more often! The children sure loved it.”

“And risk getting teased by the flowers?!?” Sirius exclaimed. “I don’t think so.”

At dinner, Vi even, jokingly, suggested they form a singing group! They all laughed for hours. It had been the first happy day, for the marauders and flowers, in a long while.
