I hate to leave you in suspense for too long, so... Quote:
Here's chapter 23! It's kinda like "whoa!" but I hope it's okay.... My eyes widened in horror as Harry stepped fully into the room, followed by Ron, then Hermione. Voldemort’s however, widened in…sickening, ugly joy. “Why thank you for the visit, Potter.” He sneered. I caught Harry’s eye and smiled slightly. Even though it was a horrible time, I felt happy to see him. Looking at him after months of not, it felt like eating chocolate for the first time. Or like winning the Quidditch house cup…only much, much better than that. “Ginny!” he exclaimed, running forward to hug me. I hugged him back as he planted a kiss in my hair. “Well, well, well. That was a cozy little reunion, wasn’t it?” Voldemort jeered. Harry turned his head, his arms still around me. “Well, we’ll just be going…” I muttered, trying to back away to where Hermione and my brother were standing frozen. “Oh, no, Little Miss Weasley, you won’t.” The threat came from Lucius Malfoy. Harry glared at him, most likely for calling me ‘Little Miss Weasley’. “Yes, we are!” he yelled. Lucius and a masked Death Eater raised their wands. I winced, but Harry reached for one of Hermione’s hand (the other one was gripping Ron’s) and turned. I knew we were Disapperating. I felt the suffocating blackness pressing on me. Then, as soon as it was there, it was gone. As my feet touched ground I fell over, landing on my backside. Harry released my hand as I fell, and I couldn’t help but laugh at my own un-gracefulness. “Where are we?” Ron asked, looking around. I followed suit and realized we weren’t in Hogsmeade, where I thought we’d be. Instead we were on another deserted town street. “Umm, First Street, London.” Harry murmured. Recognition clicked in Hermione and Ron’s expressions. I, on the other hand, wasn’t caring about where we were; I was caring about what was going on with Voldemort. I knew it wasn’t over yet. There was no way that we were safe. None at all. “Harry?” I asked, getting up, “why didn’t you take us to Hogsmeade? That would’ve been easier, right?” Harry shook his head. “Gin, I…” he shook it again, this time to himself. “We have to go. now.” As he said this he turned to Hermione and Ron. “Is it…?” Hermione asked, cutting off her sentence. I didn’t understand, but Harry did. “Yeah, somewhere around here…” he murmured. I bit my lip. He didn’t seem like he was happy about finding whatever it was he was looking for. “But Ginny-?” started Ron. “I know; that’s what I’m thinking about!” “We can’t,” “Of course not, Ronald!” Hermione exclaimed. I looked at her, surprised, and then raised my voice so it could be heard. “You know, I could probably help find it, whatever it is…” “Gin, you couldn’t I’m sorry.” Harry told me quietly. I should’ve let this blow over, but instead, being me, I let it get me annoyed. “I am every bit as good at magic as you three!” I challenged, not sure why I was yelling at Harry instead of telling him over and over that I loved him. “Ginny, that’s not what he meant,” Hermione reasoned. I ignored her and kept my eyes locked with Harry’s. “I was in Dumbledore’s Army with you! I was at the Ministry with you! I fought with you at Hogwarts last year!” Harry shook his head with no sign of a rising temper. “Gin, I’m sorry. You can’t. It has nothing to do with skill. If it did, you’d be the first person we’d talk to,” he said it just to get me to stop talking, I could tell. “Gin, please, stay here, we’ll be back.” Harry’s pleading voice was genuine. I finally figured out that he was talking the truth. “Dumbledore, right?” I asked simply. Hermione looked relieved, Ron looked a bit frightened, but Harry looked like he would rather be doing anything but this. “Yeah, Dumbledore. I promise, Gin, if it wasn’t, I’d let you help. But it has to be us three. I’m sorry.” He looked it too. “Alright,” I sighed, “but where am I suppose to go? I’m not going back to Hogwarts without you. I’ve already missed two months, another day won’t make a difference,” Ron grimaced, and Hermione shook her head slowly. “Ginny, it’s been four. Today is April eighteenth.” Hermione whispered. I had no idea how on Earth I’d gotten that far off on my counting. “Anyway, it doesn’t matter. What is she going to do while we go get it?” Harry asked. I could hear the strain in his voice, he obviously wasn’t happy with leaving me here alone in this strange place. “Umm, perhaps that alley way there?” I asked, pointing a ways down the empty street. Harry grimaced. “I don’t know, Gin…” he started. Ron cut in. “She’ll only be there for a few minutes. That’ll do.” Harry shook his head again, but sighed in defeat. “Alright. There. But I want every protection possible around you, and I don’t want you to be wandering off, and-” “Harry? I’m sixteen,” I whispered, “I really can take care of myself,” he looked at me curiously, but nodded. “Alright, alright, whatever gets us done faster. Come on Ron, Hermione.” He looked at me once more, and gave me a hug. “We’ll be right back,” he promised as they took off down the street at a run. More ASAP! Thanks you all for reading! ~Sydnie :harry3: |

Okay, so I actually like this chapter quite a bit.... I just hope you guys do too! Oh, and the story is slowly but surely coming to an end :( just thought I'd let you guys know.... Hiding in an alley way for an hour isn’t exactly how I’d recommend anyone spend their free time. Especially when they’re using that hour to think about what they’re brother, best friend, and boyfriend are doing. I came to a conclusion though. Here it is: They’re doing something dangerous, and it involves Voldemort. I sat with the Invisibility Cloak over me (Harry had insisted on it, ignoring my attempts to give it back to him) and every single protection spell the four of us knew around me. I looked up from studying my hands as I heard a voice. Well, I heard a crash as a garbage bin tipped, and then I heard a voice. “Ginny? Are you there?” I pulled off the cloak and stood up. “Yes Ron, I’m right here!” with a swish of my wand the protective enchantments were gone. I ran up to Harry and he opened his arms for me. “Did you get it?” I asked. He seemed reasonably happier then he had been as he gave me a nod. I smiled and turned to Hermione, who I realized was holding a sword. “Is that it?” I asked. Hermione nodded, looking down at the weapon as if she thought it would turn on her. “Well, should we get going?” I asked. The others looked at one another, clearly having a silent conversation. “I don’t know, Ginny,” Ron answered finally, “We all know Voldemort hasn’t finished with his plan, and he won’t until he absolutely has to. That is-” “-When either I’m dead or he’s dead.” Harry cut in. I bit the inside of my cheek. “Umm, so….what are we doing?” I asked cautiously. I didn’t like where this was going. “I think we’re going back to Hogwarts. And we’re going to fight.” Hermione whispered. Not willing my voice to speak, I just nodded once. “Now?” Ron questioned. “Yea, I think we should go now.” Harry answered. I saw his eyes traveling to the sword Hermione was still holding. “What is that?” I asked, nodding my head toward the sword. “A sword, Ginny,” Ron replied in all seriousness. “No, really?” my voice was thick with sarcasm. “Yea, did you not know that?” “I’ll tell you what I know-” I threatened. “Stop it, both of you,” Harry ordered, “We need to figure out what we’re going to do now. And if you two are going to fight, Hermione and I’ll do it ourselves!” I continued to glare at my brother for no reason as the others discussed whatever it was that they were worried about. “Alright!” Harry said loudly. I looked up from my bare feet. “We’re going back. We’re going to find a way to destroy this thing,” he pointed quickly to the sword, “And we’re going to live happily ever after, okay?” Hermione and Ron looked hopeful, but I bet my face looked skeptical. There was most likely not going to be a happily ever after for us. Not completely at least. Something bad was bound to happen. “So, we just magically show up at Hogwarts- me, after being gone four months- and then we destroy that,” I made a motion to the sword, “and it’s all over?” I asked sarcastically. Harry shook his head cautiously. “We’re expecting a battle.” I stared blankly at him. He was expecting a battle, and yet he wanted to go back to Hogwarts anyway? That was so unlike him! “Harry…?” I asked slowly. “I know what you’re thinking Gin, but it’s got to be done. Unless we can find a way to be just me and him...” He paused, “But, then again, I can just pop back up in the Malfoy Manor…” “No!” Ron, Hermione and I all protested at the same time. “Besides,” Hermione reasoned, “we still have to get rid of this,” she looked down at the sword. “And how are we supposed to do that?” Ron asked skeptically. “What is it?” I asked. “It’s…nothing Gin. “It is too something!” “Listen, you don’t need to-” “It’s a Horcrux.” Harry answered, cutting off Ron mid-sentence. I narrowed my eyes. “A what?” “The thing has a piece of Voldemort’s soul in it.” I stared at the sword, and then took a few steps away from Hermione, who was still holding it. “How are you suppose to destroy it?” I asked, still eyeing the sword, like it was going to attack me at any moment. “That’s a good question.” Harry replied. “How did Dumbledore destroy the ring?” Ron asked. Harry held his index fingers to his temples, concentrating. “Basilisk venom…he said something about Basilisk venom.” He said finally. Ron looked at him skeptically. “Well that’s ironic,” Hermione hit him on the head. “This isn’t a time for jokes!” she scolded. “Who said I was joking?!” Ron asked, rubbing his head with his hand. “So…where are we going to get it?” Harry asked exasperated. “Jokes?” “No, Ronald! Basilisk venom!” “The Chamber of Secrets, of course!” I interrupted. Harry looked at me as if I’d grown another head. I raised an eyebrow at him. “It’s obvious, isn’t it? I’m sure the dead Basilisk is still there, pull out a few fangs and stab the thing-” I motioned to the sword “-with one.” “That actually makes sense.” “Of course it does, Ron!” “To Hogwarts, then?” Harry took a deep breath. “To Hogwarts.” thanks again! ~Sydnie :harry3: |

And onar...there's a reason for that :shifty: you shall see soon enough :D Everyone grabbed someone else’s hand, and after a count of three, we were all being sucked through a black tube. Just when it felt like I would suffocate, we landed on a street. As I looked around, I fell over and stayed on the ground, dizzy. “Now are we in Hogsmeade?” I asked. Looking around, I saw the Three Broomsticks, but I wanted to be sure. The other three nodded. “Now what?” I asked, looking into the distance at the lights of Hogwarts. “Now,” Harry said, “We destroy that. Then…I try to get away.” “And we come with you.” Ron promised. Hermione and I nodded. I was glad Harry wasn’t looking at me, he probably wouldn’t like it that I was planning on fighting with him. He helped me up off the ground once the world stopped spinning below me. I thanked him, and looked down at my feet. I was mad at myself for not accepting Cissy’s offer to where her tennis shoes she had been wearing. My feet were not only dirty, they were scratched up from the roads I’d landed on and the things I’d been stepping on. We walked slowly. I wanted to run all the way up to the castle, but the others said that we couldn’t. So I was impatient. I settled for lagging behind for a few seconds, and then running to catch up. And I’d do that again and again, until finally we were at the doors. “How do we get up without them seeing us?” I asked. The cover of night had hidden us so far, but once we got into the castle, I was sure some Prefect, teacher, or kid that wasn’t supposed to be up would see us. Harry shrugged, and I didn’t press that. When Ron asked what we were planning on doing, though, Harry replied. “Well, I think we should see McGonagall and tell her we got you back, that we are here, and that there is a possibility of Battle.” I caught up with him and grabbed his hand. He gave me a small smile and we snuck up to the Headmistress office. “Password?” asked the gargoyle. “I don’t have time for a password! I’m Harry Potter, let me in! I need to see McGonagall!” Harry whispered urgently. The gargoyle swung open and Harry started up the stairs, not waiting for them to spin upwards. Hermione, Ron and I followed behind him, just as quickly. “Professor!” Harry called running into the Headmistress’ suite without knocking. McGonagall jumped and looked away from Dumbledore’s portrait. “Potter!” she exclaimed sternly, looking around at her other guests. “And Weasley too? How did you-” “Malfoy Mannor,” Harry cut in, breathing hard. “They had her locked in the cellar. We got away before anyone could get hurt. But I think Voldemort’s going to try to find me.” He said this in a rush, and continued just as fast. “We need to get into the Chamber of Secrets, and fast. Then we’ll leave. But in case we don’t get out in time, you’ll have to secure the students. Get them out, or something, I don’t know. What I do know, though, is this: Tonight will be the night that either Voldemort dies, or I die.” :mwaha: ~Sydnie |

OKay, here's the next chapter! Chapter 26 Everyone stared at him. Even the portraits stopped talking and stared at him. “Potter, are you sure?” McGonagall asked. “Positive.” Harry said somberly. I ran over to give him a hug. “Chamber of Secrets?” he asked. I sighed and looked up; he was looking at Hermione and Ron. “Ginny, you can go to your dormitory.” McGonagall said quietly. I shook my head like a stubborn child. “Ginny, you need to,” Ron agreed. Hermione nodded her head slightly. “I’m not leaving you guys to fight Voldemort!” Ron flinched as I said his name, and I realized that I had actually said it aloud. “I won’t be able to sit around and act normal when I know Harry might die! I am not going to go with the evacuating students to save my own life when Harry’s might end at any moment! I’m coming with you!” Ron looked as if I’d slapped him. Hermione looked scared but determined. McGonagall looked about ready to faint. I turned my head again to look at Harry. His expression was worried, of course, but I could also see something else. Happiness? Smugness? “Chamber of Secrets?” he asked again. I nodded and grabbed a hold of his hands, intertwining my fingers with his. He nodded solemnly to the Professor and turned to leave. “I hope I’ll be gone soon, but please, make sure the other students are safe.” He stared at the professor for a bit, then nodded and turned around. I followed right behind him, and so did Ron and Hermione. We hurried down the spiraling staircase, jumping more than running. We continued on down the halls, slowing to stops when we passed classrooms, afraid to wake the teachers. When we made it into the girls bathroom, we all took a few moments to catch out breath, and Hermione locked the door from the inside. “Hello Harry,” a trilling voice greeted. I spun around, afraid that there was someone in the bathroom with us. “H-hey Myrtle.” Harry muttered. “Nice of you to stop by. I thought you had…forgotten me.” I made a gagging noise at the ghost’s stupid puppy-dog pout. “I can’t talk right now, Myrtle,” Harry said quickly, walking over to the sink. I followed him, keeping my eyes on Myrtle. “OH! I see! It’s because of that girl, right?” Myrtle wailed, glaring daggers at me. “Fine then!” and with that she flew into a stall. There was a deafening splash, and crying could be heard somewhere below us. Harry shook his head and bent over a sink. He muttered something- Parseltounge- and there was a clicking noise. He stepped back so he was next to me, and grabbed my hand. I closed my eyes as it opened, so I don’t know what happened to the sink. But when I opened my eyes, there was a big, gaping hole where the sinks had been. “Now what?” I asked, my voice a whisper. “Now we jump,” Ron answered. “I’ll go first.” That was Harry, of course. “Actually, I’ll go by myself. You three stay here. I’ll be right back.” He took a deep breath, let go of my hand, and stepped forward. I gulped, and he walked right over the edge. Hermione came to stand where he had been, and I looked over at her. “I’m going.” I told her. “You and Ron stay here, though, please. I promise I’ll be back.” And without waiting for her to answer, I jumped into the hole. I closed my eyes again, not wanting to see where I was going. I tried to remember what it was like last time I’d been here…but I couldn’t remember anything before when Harry had come to save me. And perhaps that was good; because I was sure it wasn’t pleasant. I opened my eyes when I hit solid ground. “Harry?” I asked quietly. My voice echoed around me. “Gin?” came the answering call. My heart sped up, though I had a feeling it wasn’t a late reaction to the adrenaline rush I’d just had. I strained my eyes forward, and I saw Harry’s silhouette. “Stay there,” I ordered as I started walking toward him. He met up with me half-way, and grabbed my hand again. “I thought I told you to stay up there,” he scolded. But he sounded relieved. I didn’t reply, I just kept walking. We continued walking in silence; the only sound was our feet on the ground beneath us. Harry turned suddenly, dropping my hand. “Please, stay here. I’ll just go grab a fang. I’ll be right back.” I shook my head. “I’m coming with you.” “Gin, look. I’ll be right back-” “As will I.” “But, Gin, last time-” “Last time I was here you got me out safely. And this time, there are no live Basilisks and no Voldemort. That means it will be three times as safe. Okay? Now, I’m coming with you, whether you like it or not. Okay? Okay.” And with that I started walking forward. Harry sighed and followed. I had to admit, I was a bit scared. The last time I’d been in this place, I’d nearly died. And even though I couldn’t remember it, it’s kind of hard to forget. “Harry, I-” He shook his head, and pointed to the corner of the chamber, where a giant snake was curled up. My mouth dropped open and my eyes locked on the basilisk. “That’s it!” I exclaimed, taking a few steps forward. Harry reached forward to grab my hand. “No Gin. I’ll go.” I frowned, but let him walk forward. He stepped carefully around the long, thick, dead body of the creature until he reached its head. Bending down slowly, he looked at it’s mouth. I could see the fang from where I stood. Harry reached out slowly and grabbed the fang with both hands. After a hard tug, he looked back at me, frowning. “I can’t get it!” he called. I jogged over, ignoring the upset sounds that Harry made. I bent down to his level quickly and covered his hands with mine. “On three,” I ordered without looking up. “One, two, THREE!” I threw all the wait of my body backwards, trying to heave the deadly tooth out of the basilisk’s mouth. Harry joined in to help, but still the fang stayed in place. “Relashio!” Harry shouted, pointing his wand at the top of the tooth. Too easy, I thought, but that was before the fang fell out of the mouth. I looked over to Harry and he actually grinned, so we stood up and booked it out of the chamber. Okay, so I know it's shortish, and not exciting, but I'm sorry :( An exciting parts coming soon, I hope. Thank you all for reading, I really appreciate it! *tackleglomps* ~Sydnie :harry3: |
