“Once upon a time there lived two Princes, Fredrick and Georgian Weasley. They were the Princes of a small Kingdom named St. Ottery Catchpole…”

George Weasley leaned across the door frame of his children’s bedroom and watched his wife Angelina sitting with Fred and Roxanne along with Halle, his friend Lee Jordan’s wife and their kids Anna and Simon and telling them the story which was Fred and Roxanne’s favorite. Ange looked up just in time and smiled at him warmly which he returned back and continued to stand there as she continued with the story…

“There’s was a huge family with four more brothers and one younger sister. It was a happy family which ruled their kingdom very well. Out of all the brothers Fredrick and Georgian were the naughtiest ones” chimed Angelina and Fred jumped up giggling
“just like me and Simon”
“oh yes, just like you two” said Halle and ruffled his hair while Roxanne and Anna giggled

Ange continued…

“They always troubled their mother by not letting her do her daily work and played hide and seek with their other brothers and hid in places where no could find them."

Anna and Roxanne giggled as they knew that Angelina was slightly refering to Simon and Fred's mischeif...

"The Princes had another friend named Jordan who studied and played with them. The three of them were the best of the friends. They did almost everything together. Their favorite game was playing with their small toy swords and shields which they pestered their dad to buy”

George chuckled as he heard that and then turning he left the room and walked back to the living room and poured himself another measure of Firewhiskey and sat down on the arm chair when his friend Lee looked up from the Prophet.

“They are asleep?” he asked
“No, not yet. Ange is telling them some weird story about three princes named Fredrick, Georgian and Jordan” he said making a face at which Lee laughed. He knew too well that it was young Fred and Roxi’s favorite story.
“oh good I guess Si and Anna will like it too” he said

It was that day of the spring when few years back they all together had defeated Lord Voldemort and it was the day when he had lost his best friend and a solid companion Fred Weasley. The Weasley family had a get together which George and Angelina, Lee and Halle quickly attended and returned back to spend some time alone. To this date Lee couldn’t imagine how things could have changed so drastically.

At one point he was with Fred a corridor below attacking the death eaters and at the same time defending when they spilt to help the others and after sometime there was a huge trembling and a wall on the upper corridor broke and fell over his dear friend. Lee had no idea about all this happening till the time he met a tear streak and much more violent Percy avenging his brother’s death.

The numb feeling which he felt then revives every time he thinks of that time of the war. It paralyzes him and sends him into the depths of sadness which he could never pluck it out from his system.

Lee looked up at his friend the second half of Fred, his true soul mate, his twin, his partner in crime and companion in success, George who now very unlike himself was sitting calmly and with a thoughtful look about him. Seeing him Lee smiled as he thought how Fred would have a quick one liner thrown at George for his horrifyingly calm and composed stature now. The loss of Fred had deeply affected the Weasley family and more so to Mrs. Weasley and George. But it would be unfair to say that it didn’t affect Angelina and him equally as they were the next people so close to him apart from his family, with Ange being his girlfriend at that time and he being his best friend for years.

Fred, George and Lee had the best of the times at Hogwarts playing pranks and troubling their fellow students. They were the other versions of Peeves. Lee still can remember the flustered faces of Professor Sprout and Professor Flitwick when they found these three were behind the pranks year after year and were fed up of giving them detentions or stern faced McGonagall who would make them write and write (the thing they hated the most) during detention or the ever curious sparkling eyes of Professor Dumbledore who though never approved of their pranks but was always slightly amused on how they always pulled it off.


Lee sighed and got up and fixed himself a drink and then walked to the window and stood there silently reminiscing his memories when he felt a wave of remorse for taking his friendship for granted where he left Fred and George after his 7th year and then returned only when the war had almost begun, and while they themselves were on run and hiding and yet giving news on Potterwatch, it probably wasn’t the time for fun any more. But still at such times Fred and George always were up to something that cracked him up and made the elders around them scowl. With such friends around Lee never thought he would ever be alone in the battle field only to be brought back to reality now when every thing was done and over that nothing is permanent in life be it peace or war, be it happiness or sadness or be it his best friend’s smiling face or that of the death eater’s cruel face. But one thing that Lee knew would always be permanent their friendship…


“and that is how the brave Prince Fredrick along with Georgian, Jordan and other friends defeated the evil Lord…” ended the soothing voice of a mother just a floor above in the Weasley household…

Hello Harita. I love these Friends One Shots. This was pricelss. I can just see the bright little faces looking up to and listening to this story, with anticipation of each next word, waiting to hear the favorite part of their story. I know! It still is hard to think on, and believe it happened. ! I always had the same feeling. I think Dumbledore had a certain respect for the twins ingenius ways. Great post Harita. I'm never disappointed by your writing. It's always wonderful. I'll be watching for your next post.

FRIENDS FOREVER...


There was clattering of plates being heard on a fine August morning when Harry walked out of his room.
As he silently crept into the hall of his apartment he saw a familiar bushy haired young woman working her way in the kitchen. He shook his head and walked towards the window where he saw an owl waiting for him with the Sunday Daily Prophet.
After paying the owl he walked in smiling.
“Hey ‘morning Hermione”
The brown haired young woman turned and smiled
“ ‘morning Harry”
“what are you doing here on a early Sunday morning?” he asked as he sat down at the table.
“making breakfast I presume” she said casually and went back to flip her toast on the pan her back to Harry.
“yeah, I presume that too” he said opening the paper up and Hermione rolled her eyes.
And just then as Harry was reading the Sunday Prophet Ron came in trudging along still sleepy and rubbing his eyes.
“Hey ‘morning mate” he said thumping his back and sitting down next to him and when he looked up he saw Hermione’s back to him
“ ‘Mione what are you doing here?” he asked suddenly realizing that Hermione was here
“why is it so startling to both of you that I am here today” she said turning with her hands on her hips with her eyebrows raised which left Harry chuckling and Ron stuttering to make some explanation
“save your breath” she said in a typical Hermione-ish way of telling Ron not to bother and turned around. Ron shrugged and was just getting up to make some coffee for himself when Hermione turned with a tray full of a typical English breakfast.
“wow, Mione” Ron exclaimed and no doubt the breakfast looked and smelt delicious. Maybe the main reason that Ron could get up at 8 on a Sunday morning as compared to 10!
“what’s the occasion?” Harry asked now clearly surprised and slightly suspicious of Hermione’s behavior.
“Take your seat Ron,” she said and laid the tray of the table of the kitchen and as Ron sat down she sat down opposite them and said sweetly
“Happy Friendship’s day”
Harry looked at her and then at the daily Prophet’s corner where the day and date were displayed
“first Sunday of August” he murmured
“what’s that?” Ron asked clearly unaware of what day was Hermione celebrating with them.
He looked at the tray and his eyes fell on a huge gift wrapped almost square gift with a silver-ish white ribbon.
“what’s this?” he asked looking up at Hermione
“A gift Ronald” she said rolling her eyes
“I know that” he cut her back
“okay, I guess I should open it up” Harry jumped in before the duo had another heated talk. When didn’t they have that? Harry still wondered sometimes that even after 10 years of knowing these friends of his, how they even got together, though he knew that they seem to be perfect for each other but even then by the way they argue and fight. Merlin save the day!

Harry carefully took out the wrapper as Hermione was busy stirring her frothy cappuccino while Ron hungrily dug into the French toast that Hermione made
“Merlin’fs bearf Fhermione, thefe are the moft awfome” he began with his mouth full which earned him a glare that made him apologize making sure he swallowed the food first.
“better” she said and then continued
“that’s the best French toast I have ever eaten” he praised
“thanks Ron” she said smiling and sipping her frothy cappuccino and looked up at Harry who was now looking at the cover of a gramophone record.
“Like it?” she asked sipping in once again
“Like it? Love it” he said and Ron stopped eating and looked at the cover art which was nothing but a complete collage of all three of them and their times at Hogwarts.
“Mione this looks brilliant” he said as he took the cover in his hands and looked at all the collaged pictures and Hermione couldn’t just stop beaming.
“man…I looked like a monkey when I was in first year” he asked and Hermione laughed
“and Harry like frog with those huge eyes behind his glasses”
Harry looked at his friend his eyebrows raised and said “thanks Ron”
“anytime mate” Ron said with a sly grin
“and Mione” he began but Hermione cut him
“not interested to know” because she knew she looked like a chipmunk with buck teeth and long bushy hair and Ron chuckled but shrugged and left it that way…
Just then Harry who had taken the gramophone tape from the cover walked out of the kitchen to see what it had.
Hermione got up herself and followed him out in the hall and Ron slowly joined them later as Harry just set the tape to play…


Heya Harry, Ron…well…it has almost been 10 years since we have known each other and have been friends for such a long time of our more then adventurous lives

Harry looked at her with a smile and raised eyebrows and Hermione just shrugged and looked up at Ron smiling who chuckled and put his arm around her shoulder…

Well, we haven’t ever celebrated this day before, its sort of Muggle custom. I think you might have heard of it and I am sure Ron is clearly clueless.

And Harry chuckled, “are you mate?”
“you want to bet?” he asked and Hermione shook her head smiling.

So I just thought to celebrate these 10 years of our friendship… can you imagine 10 years wow!
I doubt Ron would have never even thought of spending an hour with me after our first disastrous day in Charms with me being all bossy around him”
and she laughed in the tape while Ron looked at Hermione who was standing next to him with raised eyebrows and an expression
‘you think so?’
And Hermione just shrugged and spoke “I know so”
Ron shook his head and held her closer… “but the bossy part I guess…hasn’t changed still” he whispered and Hermione nudged him slightly as she blushed.

Anyways so I just thought and made this collection of best of muggle and wizard music which I am gifting it to you guys which you will like it because each of the songs in this collection has its own meaning and importance in our lives I…I know this sounds very cheesy and all…but I somehow wanted to celebrate it this year round…Hope you both like it…

And wish we all continue to be friends forever…

Harry turned around and looked at Hermione and nodded in agreement with her
“Friends forever” he said and just then a familiar sounding music began to play and Hermione let out a huge smile and Harry turned looked at the gramophone and then turned to Hermione just and mouthed
“Friends!” and she giggled and nodded…

Harry laughed as his head bobbed with the music and familiar lyrics filled the living room…while Hermione began to hum the song while Ron stood there stunned watching Harry and Hermione

“That’s so Ron” Harry said laughing as he heard the next paragraph moving and swaying to beat of the music and Hermione laughed…
“sure” and Ron just shrugged and gave a sheepish grin

Oh but she didn't tell you when the world has brought

Even at my worst I'm best with you, yeah… Hermione sang along the entire paragraph as Harry and Ron listened as they continued to do a bit of swaying and moving with such a catchy tune and they exactly felt what Hermione was trying to tell them…Ron shook his head smiling…

or even your year... Harry got into the song now with new vigor and higher voice that made Hermione laugh…

And as the song ended a beaming Hermione looked at Harry and Ron who looked at each other and then laughed out.
“that’s a cool song, ‘Mione” Ron said
“Thanks Ron”
Harry walked back with the tape in his hand.
“Man, I haven’t heard this song for since like ages. Remember hearing it once when Dudley was watching it one day but hardly ever heard it again”
“yeah, you probably were busy hunting Voldy down or saving yourself from being hunted down”
“yeah I know” he said
“glad you guys liked it” she said smiling
“as I said, loved it” Harry said
“good” she said and then quickly closed her eyes and spread both her palms out and said
“so where are my gifts?” she asked childishly.
Both the guys looked at each other and chuckled and shook their head.
“well, I will have to find something for you now, wouldn’t I?” he said and Hermione opened one eye of hers
“so, for time being” Harry said and placed his hand in one of her palms and brought her near and kissed her forehead
“friends forever” he said smiling down at her “I think this should do” she nodded but the next question which came in made her laugh again
“but seriously Hermione you think I am broke and my love life’s
death on arrival?” he asked
“well… your job is just super great and you aren’t broke” she said agreeing to him in mock serious tone “but your love life…” she trailed to give a teasing effect.
“is wonderful” he said firmly and that made her giggle even more and shook her head and hugged him.
“now what am I getting from you?” she said moving away and turning to Ron
“do I have to close my eyes for a present from you?” she asked cheekily
“well…no I guess not…” Ron said and took her other hand and gently brought her close to him and whispered
“more than just friends forever” and kissed her…
And Hermione chuckled but returned the kiss back
Harry rolled his eyes
“Get a room for yourself Chandler, Monica!” he said smacking Ron’s head and moved away from his friends but the statement blew Hermione away and she started to laugh and Ron looked down at her smiling but rubbing his head and then holding her they followed Harry back to the kitchen
“by the way who is Chandler and Monica?” he asked
“Matthew Perry and Courtney Cox” Hermione said giggling
“sorry, didn’t get that?” he said and then Hermione repeated again
“Matthew Perry and Courtney Cox”
“now who’s Matthew Perry and Courtney Cox!” Ron exclaimed and Hermione laughed out harder
“seriously you remind me of Joey, now” she said as she took her seat at the kitchen table
“now who the hell is Joey!” asked Ron looking at Harry slightly exasperated but gave a sort of comical expression
“Matt LeBlanc!” he said solemnly which earned him a smack on his head from Ron while Hermione continued to laugh her way through the breakfast.
That probably was one of the best Sunday mornings that the trio ever had…

THE CALL

“Harry, you are back honey?” called out a voice when the door of the Grimmauld Place opened and shut. It was time that Harry had to come back from his work on a holiday!
“yes, Gin. I am back”
“good, I’ll just be in a minute” she called out from the kitchen. She was preparing for the Halloween dinner tonight. They were to have a small Halloween family diner together with Ron and Hermione and Mr. and Mrs. Weasley.
“is Ron here?” called Harry.
“oh yeah Ron just came in. he is upstairs helping Mione” she called back and Harry rolled his eyes.
Harry walked to the living room and looked at the decorations in the living room. Hermione and Ginny must have done all the decoration.

The living room was in dim orange glow and had candles all over. The pumpkins were enchanted to float over from the ceiling. Harry looked above and then chuckled as he remembered last years Ron’s accident with the pumpkins. The living room had mild sweet fragrance and was warm and very inviting. Harry’s eyes fell on the various photo frames that decorated the mantle piece over the fire place. He walked over to the white marble mantle and lifted a frame which had his family’s recent picture with Ginny sitting on a sofa and Albus propping his head on his elbow over the hand rest and James sitting on the other. Lily was sitting on her mum’s lap while Harry was bent over the head rest his head almost touching Ginny’s head. He scanned through various other photo frames. The one’s with him and Hermione and Ron in Hogsmeade, the ones with him and Ginny at her Holyhead Harpies match and their wedding pictures. His eyes fell on one of the most favorite of all the, the picture of the Order and another one with James, Lily and baby Harry.

It had been 37th death anniversary of his parents. Harry and Ginny had visited their grave in the Godric’s Hallow in the morning. They were accompanied by the entire Weasley family and few close friends. Their kids were at school currently celebrating the Halloween but the dearies were so sweet that they each sent a small letter to Harry and Ginny for James and Lily Potter to put up at the newly memorial built for the Potters at the Godric’s Hallow. He was very proud of his children and his nieces and nephews.

Harry walked back to the couch and placed his work robes on the head rest of the couch and walked to the arm chair near the fire. He turned to his side and saw the gramophone placed just right next to where he was sitting and relaxing. He played the gramophone the song flowed by….


Harry had heard this song many, many times and yet he heard this song from various people’s minds. His life had been a roller coaster with all up and downs and he had met so many people on his journey that he was influenced by each and every one of them…But this time he heard to what his heart spoke of, this time he saw and remembered what his head showed him…

It started out as a feeling

Harry closed his eyes and his head rested and took a deep breath.

Which then grew into a hope

He hummed the lyrics in his mind…

Which then turned into a quiet thought
Which then turned into a quiet word

His mind began to flip back on his memories of his life

And then that word grew louder and louder
Till it was a battle cry

He remembered the chaos at Bill’s wedding…

I'll come back
When you call me
No need to say goodbye

He remembered running with Hermione and Ron in their robes not even saying goodbye to any of his dear ones.

Just because everything's changing

Cedric occupied his mind.

Doesn't mean it's never been this way before

It was the time when things had changed in the wizard world again

All you can do is try to know who your friends are

Harry smiled as he remembered his time with Ron and Hermione in the Gryffindor Common Room laughing and having fun…

As you head off to the war

And then he faced Ron and Hermione in his memories their faces serious as he gave them the Flexis Felis before heading out with Dumbledore.

Pick a star on the dark horizon

He saw Ginny’s smiling face…in his mind

And follow the light
You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye

Ginny was his star in the darkness of death and sorrow, she was his soul mate, his strength for whom he cared so much and loved with all his heart. He remembered how he was scared not to bid Ginny goodbye before his mission with Dumbledore and as he saw Ginny help someone on the ground of Hogwarts during the battle 20 years ago, thinking he may never came back…

You'll come back when it's over
No need to say goodbye….

Ron and Hermione descended the staircase as they heard the music play. They had heard this song so many times but every time they hear their memories turn a fresh. They walked into the living room slowly and saw Harry sitting beside the fire place listening to the song, eyes closed. Ron and Hermione didn’t look at each other. They had been listening to the song ever since it began playing and they had their own memories being played…

Ginny noticed Hermione and Ron walk into the living room. She walked out of the kitchen her hand still having the baking gloves on. She was under the influence of the song and music too…



Now we're back to the beginning

He remembered how they all started their lives again after the dreaded but much needed war… Ron closed his eyes and placed his hands on the headrest of couch

It's just a feeling and no one knows yet

Hermione looked into the fire as she revisited her memories…

But just because they can't feel it too
Doesn't mean that you have to forget.

No Harry could never forget what everybody had gone through, his parents, his god father, his mentor, his ideal, his would have been brother-in-law, his friends and many other people who were so much important to him and to this magical world of theirs.


Let your memories grow stronger and stronger

The memories of his godfather falling off the arch and his barking laughter, his ideal falling of the majestic Astronomy Tower and his ever famous twinkle in the eye…

Till they're before your eyes
Ron revisited his brother Fred under the chunk of wall and his ever smiling face, Ginny remembered Tonks and Resmus’ and their bravery…

You'll come back

Yes, Harry did come back after facing Voldemort…They had believed in him that he would come back…

When they call you

Each of them recalling their moments of the war…

No need to say goodbye

Yes they all came back to begin a new life…

The lyrics ended but the music carried on and so did their memories. As the song ended Harry opened his eyes slowly and looked into the fire not speaking a word because he knew his friends were around him right now all misty eyed in their memories…

Hello Harita. I posted earlier, well I should say I was commenting earlier, when Explorer lost connection with the server for SS. So, I have to do it over. This was such a well written story, and I really liked it a lot! You are always able to convey such emotions in your writing. I think that is one of the reasons why I enjoy reading your ff's.
I can't pick out favorite parts because it is all so great! Very sweet story.
Great story Harita. I'll be watching for another one. And thank you for your holiday wishes for us. We all had a nice time, passing out candy. Although my children are grown, and my grandchildren don't live close anymore, we still enjoyed other children in their costumes.
