Adrienne and Lisa left the Ravenclaw Safe Room and made their way to the Hufflepuff Rec Room. It was relatively clean, with students practicing their Charms work everywhere, on furniture, each other, some even playing with muggle objects, like cameras. Lisa and Adrienne picked through the rabble and sat next to Scott. Scott had a new girl on his arm, and they looked pretty comfortable.

"Scott, we need to talk." Adrienne tried to get his attention. He stopped kissing the girl and gave Adrienne a withered look.

"Can't it wait till later? We're having auditions here." The girl smiled and waved. "She's pretty good too."

"NOW Scott!" Lisa said, and flipped the bird to the girl. She looked offended, and Scott got up off the couch and followed them.

"So, why aren't you in the Slytherin Room?" Scott looked at Lisa, annoyed. Her cheeks burned.

"Never mind that now. I asked her to come with me, as she's my BEST FRIEND!" Adrienne emphasized. "Now, we managed to get hold of Her-whatty."

"And? What did that chick say?" Scott asked, and twirled Adrienne's hair. "You'd have made a good girlfriend. Why didn't you audition?"

"Because I don't believe in auditioning for being some jerks girlfriend." Adrienne spat, and wrenched her hair out of Scott's grasp. "I do believe we were talking about Herm-owne."

"Her name's Her-mione." Scott said nastily. "And? How is she?"

"Fine by your standards." Lisa said, still red in the face. "But she's got a boyfriend. And he doesn't look bad at all."

"You shut up." Scott said. "Adrienne, last time I inquired, the chick didn't have a boyfriend. Now this one over here," He jerked a thumb towards Lisa, "is telling me she's taken. What up with that?"

"She is. His name's Draco Malfoy. Pretty sexy character, if you ask me." Adrienne said, and both her and Lisa started giggling.

"I didn't ask you about his figure, I asked about him in general. Is he muscular, and do you think I can beat him up?"

"Yes, he is muscular, and NO, I don't think you can, or you should beat him up. He seems like a very nice guy." Adrienne said in defense of Draco.

"Unlike some guys around here." Lisa muttered to Adrienne, who proceeded to laugh quietly.

"Alright, we'll get around him. Now, if you'll excuse me, I have some more paperwork to go through." Scott went back to the couch, and proceeded to make out with the girl. Lisa and Adrienne rolled their eyes.

"Wanna head back to my Room? I won't let anyone bother you." Lisa offered to Adrienne.

"Better than watching those two." It was getting pretty intense over on the couch.

"Yea." The two girls left Scott to their own devices, and chatted about Hermione's new boyfriend.

Short yes, I'm sorry, but it's kinda like a bridge, I need it for the following chapters!

Draco and Hermione were sitting at the House table eating breakfast. News of them being together spread fast, and by the end of the week, Scott had decided to approach Hermione and talk her out of this madness.

After Draco had finished eating, he rubbed Hermione's back as she and Ashley talked over their schedules for next year.

"Seriously Hermione, you really should take up Divination again. It's such a simple class, and the teacher-"

"Ashley, I tried taking Divination. It doesn't work with me, ok? Now, you on the other hand should be looking into Owl Habits. Think of the amazing new species of owl you could discover!"

Ashley waved her hand at Hermione "Owls are for people like that kid Neville at your old school. Trust me, the future is where you need to look."

"Whatever girl. Let's talk about now. What do we have today?" Hermione finished her toast as Ashley brought out her schedule.

"Umm...Muggle Studies, Wand Making, and Legendary Creatures. Honestly, if WE know they're real, why call them Legendary?"

"Because even if we know they're real, their not around anymore, which makes them Legendary. Let's just get to class."

Draco and Hermione both got up, and Ashley grumbled a bit more about the class. Hermione gave Draco's hand a squeeze.

"Look baby, I have to get something from the dorm, I'll meet you in class, ok?"

"Sure hon. I love you." Draco kissed Hermione, and left with Ashley. Hermione made her way out of the Banquet Hall and headed for the dorms. A boy sopped her on her way.

"Hey Hermione, what's up? Besides your good looks, I mean." Hermione gave the boy a withered look, and tried to move past him. He blocked her. "C'mon Hermione, let's just chat."

"Who are you? I don't even know who you are!"

"I'm Scott. I'm the guy you REJECTED a week ago, remember?" Scott folded his arms and stared at Hermione accusingly.

"It wasn't my fault, I had a boyfriend." Hermione defended herself, and tried to move past him again. This time, he flung her against the wall.

"No one tells Scott Marquese no. You're in trouble, Miss-Oh-So-Young-And-Pretty." Scott moved in on Hermione.

Draco and Ashley were halfway to class when he remembered that he had wanted to invite Hermione to his new house that summer. He stopped Ashley.

"Wait, I forgot to tell Hermione something." Ashley gave Draco a Look.

"Can't it wait? We're halfway there. She's in the same class as us."

"No, I want to tell her now. I'll be right back."

"Well, I'm not showing up there by myself. It'll look like I have no friends. I'm coming with you." Ashley followed Draco to the dorms.

"....you're in trouble..." Draco heard Hermione's voice cry out, and he sped up his walk. He say Hermione being harassed by a strange boy.

"Hermione!" Hermione's head whipped around.

"DRACO!" She sobbed in relief, and Scott's face went paler than Draco's.

"Let her go!" Draco yelled at Scott, and grabbed him by the arm. Hermione flew from him and ran to Ashley, who flung her arms around Hermione.

Scott wrenched his arm away from Draco, and barely missed getting his head knocked off muggle style. He ran away, but paused by Hermione.

"See you around, hot-stuff." Draco roared and Scott fled.

"Hermione, are you ok?" Draco took Hermione into his arms. Her body shuddered.

"I...I'm ok Draco. He...he just startled me."

"Who was that?" Draco asked Ashley.

"That was Scott Marquese. He was the guy that tried to ask hermione out. I guess he got a little sore. He'll be after you next Draco, mark my words."

Draco shrugged off the warning and held Hermione all the way to class, where she finally calmed down.

Ashley, Hermione, and Draco missed out on Muggle Studies that day. For those 40 minutes they were in the Safe Room, calming down Hermione. She was close to hysterics, Draco was close to rage, and it appeared that only Ashley was trying to think logically.

"But why would Scott want to harass Hermione? He's never seen her before..." Ashley muttered to herself. Draco threw her a glare.

"Who cares? I just want to rip his throat out." He put his arm around Hermione, who was trying to gain control of herself.

"I care. If Scott wants to hurt Hermione, I think I have a right to know why. Now shut up and let me think." Ashley put her head on her fist and sat deep in thought.

"I-I don't know w-why. I'm n-not ev-even pretty." Hermione said, shuddering.

"Be quiet. You're beautiful, and if Scott can't control himself, I'll control him. Don't you worry." Draco comforted Hermione.

"Hm...Hermione, have you cared to look at yourself in the mirror lately?" Ashley asked, still deep in thought.

"N-no."

"Well, you should. You happen to be very pretty. Tall, pretty eyes, good figure, and smart...those are the qualities Scott demands from any potential girlfriend. He noticed your hair, your grades, your body...he lost his mind. AND you didn't know about his reputation as a flirt. You're the perfect candidate."

"That's nice. Now, where is he so I can throttle him?" Draco had a one-track mind.

"Hush up! You men are so violent! Can't you use your brain for once?"

"My what?"

"Never mind. Hermione, Scott's not going to give up. We need a decoy. Someone who's willing to date Scott to take his mind off you-"

"Hermione Granger?" A boy's head poked into the room.

"I'm Hermione Granger." Hermione walked over to him.

"Message for you ma'am." The boy gave Hermione an envelope and stood, waiting. Hermione opened it.

Hermione,

I was out of line this afternoon. Hearty apologies. Please accept my offer of dinner at Darton's. I'll pick you up at 6 tomorrow if you agree. Send reply by John.

Scott

Ashley gasped. "Dartons? That's the fanciest resturant in town! Is he crazy?"

"Out of his mind. You're not going." Draco made to rip the note up, but Hermione stopped him. "Oy, what's wrong?"

"Draco, you airhead. this is perfect. We can have a nice chat about why he likes me, and I can persuade him that I'm not the girl for him! I'll be there." She said to the boy. He grinned and went out of the room. Draco gaped at Hermione.

"And what, pray tell, will you do if he gets...frisky?" Draco was not pleased.

"I won't do anything. YOU two will." Hermione said firmly.

"What are you talking about?" Ashley joined Draco in gaping at Hermione.

"I need you two to be there as a couple to watch us. Just in case of...anything. Can you do that?"

"I don't know Hermione. Scott can get pretty....dangerous." Ashley began.

"Look, if you're my boyfriend and best friend, you'll do this for me. To protect me. Now, will you do this for me?"

Ashley and Draco exchanged hopeless glances. Ashley nodded.

"Fine, I'll do it...but Draco's buying."

"Hey!" Draco exclaimed, and Hermione and Ashley burst into giggles.

"But what if they don't want you to do that?" Draco asked, curious. He was sure he didn't want his owl locked to a chain.

"Well, you can always let it out yourself. Saves them alot of trouble. Here we are. Were you paying attention?"

Draco wasn't. But he was now. Because, standing in front of him was the most beautiful girl he had ever seen.

"Oh, I'm sorry, was I bothering you?" She asked, in a voice as light as silk. Draco couldn't speak.

"No Candi*, you're fine. I was just showing Draco the Owlry. He's new here." Sam said. "Oh, Draco, this is Candi Halley. Candi, this is Draco Malfoy. He's from Hogwarts."

"Wonderful to meet you Draco." Candi said, her voice soft and gentle. Draco could barely breath. Her hair was as dark as chocolate, and waves rippled down past her shoulders. She wasn't tall, but she carried herself in a way that made her seem that way. Her eyes were a deep brown, and glowed with health.

"T-the pleasure is all mine." Draco stumbled over his words. Candi gave him a weird look.

"Um, Sam, I'd better go now. Nice to have met you Draco." She walked gracefully past Draco. The scent of her perfume wafted in the air, trailing behind her. Draco's eyes never left her.

"Bye Candi. Draco....Draco?"

"....hm?" Draco said dreamily.

"Hey, DRACO! C'mon man, stop drooling over her! You're not the first, and you won't be the last." Sam shook Draco out of his catatonic state. Draco shook his head.

"Draco Malfoy doesn't drool over women, especially ones who get it all the time." Draco tried desperately to regain his composure. "Um...why are we here again? Where are Ashely and Hermione?"

"Never mind. We'll look at the owls another time." Sam started to head down the stairs. Draco followed, eager to get another look at Candi.

Hermione and Ashley took their period off above ground. Ashley showed Hermione the way into town, pointing out historical sights, and giving her the heads up on the town.

"Most people here treat students like royalty." Ashley said, leading Hermione past the bridge into town. "Most of them never finished school, and they know all about Hidehollow. Witches and Wizards come here all the time."

"But, what about secrecy? Won't they-" Hermione asked, fearful.

"Na, they're all good people. Besides, we have a Secret Keeper. The townsfolk know about Hidehollow, but they don't know where it is."

Hermione was impressed by the fact of the Secret Keeper. She never knew how hidden Hidehollow actually was. They entered the town, waving to people and window shopping.

"Oh, Ashley, let's go there." Hermione dragged Ashley into a quaint little shop filled with little wooden carvings, and doodads. Hermione picked up some things for her parents. They left the shop, talking and laughing.

"Hermione, we'd better get back. Hidehollow's got a curfew." Ashley led the way back to the school. On the way back to their dorms, they ran into a frustrated Sam and a tongue-tied Draco. "What happened?"

"Oh, Draco found a new amore." Sam said, rolling his eyes. "We've been trying to catch her all evening."

"Who?" Hermione asked, feeling slightly jealous, although she didn't know why.

"Candi Halley." Sam said. Ashley rolled her eyes.

"That primadonna? Oh, Draco, you can do better." Ashley said. Hermione remained silent.

Hermione waited outside the shed outside nervously. She was to signal Draco and Ashley when Scott came, but she suspected they'd know, since he had to walk by them to get to her. Just then, the door opened, and Scott walked up and out of the underground castle. Hermione looked at him a little nervously.

"Don't worry Hermione...tonight, I'm all gentleman. Shall we go?" He held out his arm. Hermione was flattered despite herself. She took it tentatively and off they went.

"I swear, if he lays one finger on her..." Draco didn't finish the threat. Ashley rolled her eyes.

"What? What would you do then?"

"I'd smash his face up so bad, he'll need a replacement one." Draco grinned devilishly. Ashley nudged him in the side.

"There he is! Let's go!" Ashley grabbed Draco's arm, and walked out behind Scott. Scott didn't even notice them. He obviously didn't recognize Draco, which was a good thing. Silently, they followed a safe distance behind.

Hermione and Scott arrived at Darton's in a matter of minutes. It was huge! There were beautiful patterns on the walls, and they were a dark red set on a gold backround. The seats were padded with red velvet, on golden chairs. Hermione was blown away.

"Amazed?" Scott noticed her dazed expression and grinned.

"Yes! It's amazing! How can you afford a dinner like this?" Hermione asked breathlessly. Scott waved his hand carelessly.

"It's only money Hermione. Come, let's be seated. Oh boy! Lead us to your best table please?" He smiled, pleased at Hermione's expression as his wishes were carried out instantly.

"How are we going to get in?" Ashley worried as they stared at the front of the building. Draco slicked his hair back, and checked the front of Ashley's shirt.

"Smooth out your shirt Ashley, there are wrinkles. And smile, and don't say anything. Just smile. I'll get us in."

Plastering on a confident smile, Draco sauntered in, Ashley gently holding his arm. He walked up to one of the men.

"Excuse me sir, could my lovely girlfriend and I please be seated soon? It's our anniversary." He said the last bit right out of earshot of Ashley. The man smiled.

"First?"

"Yes sir." Draco winked. "It's very important."

"Right away sir." The man waved over a waiter, who proceeded to take them to a table not far from Hermione's. Which is exactly where Draco wanted to be.

Hermione opened up the menu and gasped at the prices. "Scott, these are outrageous! How can-"

"Hermione....it's only money. Shall I order for you?"

"Well-"

"May I take your order?" A waiter came up to them. Scott took Hermione's menu away from her.

"Yes. We'll both have the steak. Both medium rare, with NO burned parts on it. If there are, you'll be hearing from the manager and me. Oh, and a salad to start off my lovely companion."

Hermione gave him an indignant look. "Scott, I could have ordered for myself!"

"Sorry Hermione. We can't keep these good people waiting. Now...where were we?" Scott moved closer to Hermione. Herione moved farther away. "Come now Hermione...let's not play games."

Draco's face got redder and redder. Ashley was getting worried.

"Draco...please, take it up with him after dinner....Draco, don't do anything too rash..."

"Rash my *ss! I'm going to kill him if he doesn't stop!" Draco made to get up, and Ashley flung him back down in his chair.

"AFTER!" And she held him down.

Ahh.....what shall Draco do? Only the next chapter will tell, cause I sure ain't!

Hermione tried to edge away from Scott, but he already had his arm around her. He gave her a long, passionate kiss. She pulled away after what seemed like forever.

"Scott! You know I have a boyfriend!"

"So? I have a girlfriend. Big deal!" Scott went in again, but Hermione warded him off.

"I can't believe you think I'm the type of girl that would cheat-"

"Oh Hermione, it's not cheating if they don't find out!" Scott went to kiss Hermione again.

Ashley could barely restrain Draco. He was practically blowing steam out his nose. Then, inspiration struck.

"Draco, stop for a second. Can you speak in an Irish accent?"

"Of course I can, I'm British. What does that have to do with anything?" Draco's suprise tossed him off balance.

"Ok, follow my lead."

"Oy me lads and lasses, top of the marnin' to ya all!" A boy with bleach blonde hair strode in on their table. Hermione gasped with relief when she realized it was Draco, but Ashley noticed and gave her the cut-off sign. "Wut a cute couple, isn't they me childe?"

"Ay, so they are! An' a foine bunch, ta be sure!" Ashley came in and sat next to Scott. " Hello handsome!"

"Look, I don't know who you are, or what you're doing here, but leave immedietely!" Scott said, getting exasperated. Draco shook his head and put an arm around Hermione. "Leave her alone!"

"Oy, but what a foine lassie is she? Come to Shawn baby!" Draco pulled Hermione onto his lap and began to stroke her hair. Scott's face turned red.

"Now, stop that!" Scott reached out to hit Draco, but Ashley stopped him.

"Babe, shouldn't you be doing that? I know, give us a kiss an' call it a day." Ashley gave Scott a soul-kiss, and from across the table, Hermione could see her look of revulsion. She giggled.

"Alright Hermione, if this is what you like, then fine! Stay with these two idiot Irishmen! I'm outta here! Your friends can pick up the check!" Scott stormed out of the resturant, cursing and blowing up a storm.

"So, do I get to kiss my favorite Irishman?" Hermione asked.

"Aye, so help you if ye don't!" Draco laughed, and kissed her on the nose. "Now, how about dinner? I'm famished!"
