Hello everyone! I'm back *yay* with a new snippet. I decided to write more since you all seemed to enjoy reading and gave me such nice comments. This snippet was written for denmark_rocks, who suggested writing about Christmas. Enjoy!
Christmas 1980 – suggested by denmark_rocks
The house at the end of the street was dark and quiet – which was not often the case. The white snowflakes were silently falling upon the ground, covering every brown spot of earth with their softness and the gentle wind was making them dance through the air.
The house at the end of the street belonged to James and Lily Potter, although currently some more people were living in it. This Christmas their best friends had come to stay with them and little Harry. Remus, known as Moony, was sleeping in the guestroom on the left side of the corridor, worn out from last night’s full mooon, while Sirius, nicknamed Padfoot, was snoring in the guestroom on the right side of the corridor, Harry lying across his belly where he’d fallen asleep hours ago during an exciting bedtime story. Peter, called Wormtail, wasn’t staying with them for the night, but he’d promised to come in the morning.
As it was nearing morning, Harry would not sleep any longer. Whether he knew it or not – he was the first one to wake up on this Christmas morning. Stirring slightly he turned over, opened his eyes and looked at his godfather, still sleeping. After a few minutes, Harry got bored with being awake alone and started moving around, until he rolled onto the bed, which finally awoke Padfoot.
“Hey, little one, up already?”, he said to the little baby, while sitting up, rubbing his eyes. Harry only chuckled as an answer. “Bet you can’t wait to celebrate your first Christmas. I promise – it’ll be great.”
He yawned and looked at his watch. 7.01.
“Shall we wake up your dear parents, so they can enjoy this whole day with us men?”, he asked Harry. He scooped Harry up into his arms and got up carefully. Harry immediately snuggled against his chest, and Sirius stroked his hair softly, as they always did. They quietly left the room and Padfoot tiptoed to the next room, opened the door soundlessly and entered.
“Merry Christmas!”, he shouted cheerfully, flopping onto the bed, careful not to harm Harry. James woke up with a start and his reflexes let him grab his wand and jump up. Lily woke up more slowly and when she saw her husband, pointing his wand at a surprised Sirius and Harry she couldn’t help laughing.
“That’s what I call Christmas spirit”, she giggled. “Merry Christmas to you too, Padfoot. Come here, Harry, let me give you a Christmas kiss.” She hugged Harry close and kissed his cheek.
“Hey, don’t I get a Christmas kiss, too?”, James asked, pouting and putting his wand away.
“No, you’re not as sweet as Harry”, Sirius grinned, but Lily got up, put her arms around James and also kissed his cheek. “Hey, don’t do that in front of the child!”, Padfoot warned. “It’s not healthy for Harry to see this at a young age.”
The other two laughed – and Harry looked a little confused, but soon he started giggling along.
“Shall we go and start breakfast before we open the presents?”, Lily asked the two Marauders, who were obviously torn between the prospect of eating and getting presents. “Ah, I see – I’ll have to decide. What about having breakfast and letting Remus sleep a little more – Merlin knows he needs sleep – and then we can open the presents a litte later.”
The Marauders protested and Lily sighed. But still Christmas with them as a family would be wonderful.

Poor, poor Sirius.
