Wow, you both said, like, the same thing! lol! Anyways, here's the postie.
Hermione
I zipped over to the Quidditch pitch, which was still full of players zooming about. When I was close enough, I whisked off the cloak and jogged over to the green grass, searching for Ginny. She was retreating to the change rooms, looking quite sweaty and exhausted. She noticed me instantly.
“What’s wrong, Hermione?” She asked, genuinely worried. I looked around to make sure that no one was listening in, and then told her all about what had just happened. Her mouth couldn’t have dropped more.
“Malfoy did that? I can’t believe that git! I didn’t think even a Slytherin would stoop that low…” she muttered angrily, her eyes flaming. Then the flame died out as she put a hand on my shoulder. “What are you going to do about it?”
I shrugged, feeling a sudden urge to cry. My lip trembled, but I held it in, for the time being. “I…just don’t leave me alone, okay?”
She nodded. “Just let me get changed first.”
We (Ginny and I) didn’t do much that day. Mostly, we just sat around in our dormitory as I spilled all of my frustration and anger to her. She was surprisingly very comforting and offered tremendous support.
Then, since my Hermione nature was nagging, I completed some homework, but not nearly half as much as I should have. Right now, for once, I wasn’t in the mood for work.
At one point, she told me, “You know, the smart thing to do is tell a professor. They’ll sort things out.”
I shook my head vigorously at this suggestion. “They can’t stop him. I’ve know him closely for long enough. They can’t do anything for me.” With a shudder, I added, “Besides, I really have no desire to spill out my love life to Professor Flitwick, thank you very much!”
Ginny smiled weakly. “Then the only this you can do is that you’re going to have to talk to Draco about this.”
“What will I say?” I asked, a look of confusion spreading across my face. “’Hey Draco, please keep away from me at arm’s length at all times’? That’s illogical.”
“Wait, let me get this straight. You want to break up with him, don’t you?” Ginny’s gaze didn’t leave mine.
My eyes shifted downwards, avoiding her stare. “I…I guess so. I mean, I know nothing is going to come out of this relationship. He’s not my type at all.” I looked up. “Actually, I don’t know why I was involved with him in the first place.”
My redhead friend leaned back onto her pillow. “That’s that, then. Just tell him that you can’t stand for his actions and break up. Make sure that you’re not in a really isolated place, though. I don’t even want to think of what he’d do with you.”
We shuddered simultaneously. I moved that thought away from my mind. However, I knew what I had to do, but I was reluctant to do it.
